Work Text:

Pegasus-5 landed mid-step on the hangar floor of the Tower, shaking off the tingle that teleporting with the Light always put in her joints. She had left her helmet and weapons with Ghost behind on the jumpship, more than comfortable walking through the Tower unprotected, even though the Lightless often stared or openly gawked when she passed.

And, hey, who could blame them? Her primary coat was a shiny, opalescent pearl that cast pastel rainbows with every movement of the light, her interior glow a bright yellow-white, the unicorn horn-like adornment on her head a gleaming gold. Every bit of her chassis was form before function, designed to be as aesthetically pleasing as possible, even if it wasn't the most durable or rugged. She'd had some custom work done by talented mechanics, but it was worth the Glimmer. Pegasus was the prettiest damn Exo in the Last City, and she walked through the Tower like she knew it.

Strutting aside, she found Crow where she usually did these days when he wasn't hiding in the HELM: in a corner of the hangar bay, brooding among the stacks of cargo containers that she'd taken to affectionately calling 'the Roost.' He glanced up from his dagger as she neared, the gleam of his bright orange eyes cutting through the shadow cast over his face.

She stood at the edge of his little nook, hand on her hip. "Crow!"

"Pegasus." He greeted her, voice soft but with an air of apprehension. She might have been, ironically, the closest friend he had, but he was always anxious, even when - maybe especially when - he was at the Tower. When other Guardians came to see him, it was rarely to be friendly.

She took a few steps closer, boxing him into his corner but with her body language as relaxed and unthreatening as she could make it. "Doing anything interesting, or just skulking as usual?" Pegasus kept her voice light, casual, since she couldn't really reassure him with a smile.

Amber lights flicked back down, the Awoken once again spinning his dagger in his hand. "You know me," he said, but his tone was tired, humorless.

She sighed. Crow could be such a fucking drag sometimes, even when she understood him. Despite everything , though, she still wanted to help him… for some reason. Maybe she was hoping to replace the friend she'd lost in Cayde.

"C'mon, let's take a walk."

He looked up again at that, closing his fist around the dagger. "What- just, around?"

"Sure. Get out of this dusty hangar, get some fresh air. Let's go." Without waiting for him to answer, Pegasus pushed off the crates and started heading for the stairwell, putting a subtle saunter into her gait to make sure the way her armor accentuated her perfectly-built body was on display for both the Lightless and other Guardians alike. Couldn't waste an opportunity to show off, after all.

It was easy to get onto the top of the ruins of the old Tower, if you knew how. It'd been cordoned off after the Red War, since wreckage had a nasty habit of shifting and crushing people, but a few piles of rubble and twisted rebar was hardly a challenge for a Hunter even without her triple-jumps. Still, she moved slower from perch to perch than she usually did, hoping Crow was watching her to learn the steps.

As Pegasus sat perched on the very edge of the destroyed Tower's rooftop, wind whipping her Hunter cloak around her shoulder, she heard Crow's distinctly soft bootsteps approaching from behind and noted with satisfaction that he'd been following her closely. "Knew you'd come around," she teased, still looking out at the urban landscape of the dense City far below.

He crouched close beside her, warily peering over the edge at the thousands of feet between the highest point of the Tower and the ground.

"The City is… beautiful," he remarked with a quiet reverence. They sat together in silence for a moment before he added, "The air is… thin, up here. Not sure about fresh."

"Oh?" She settled back, leaning on her palms and stretching her legs out over the edge. "I can't actually tell."

Crow glanced up at her, a slight grimace on his lips. "Right. Sorry."

Pegasus gave a quick laugh and looked over at him, raising her browplate. "Pff, why? I'm perfectly happy as an Exo."

He frowned and brought a hand up to the back of his neck, looking away, admonished. "I didn't- mean it like that, I only… forgive me," he sighed. "There aren't many Exos in the Reef, only the occasional Guardian. You're the first one I ever met. And I still don't know so much about… you."

She chuckled again, reaching out to lay a hand on his shoulder. Crow immediately looked up, all but flinching at the touch. "Easy, hey. You got questions? Shoot."

He cleared his throat and settled down into a more comfortable seated position next to her, legs crossed and hands in his lap. "Well… do you remember being human?"

That was almost always the first question, and she'd been expecting it. "No. I've been reset four times. Every reset is a complete memory wipe. Pegasus-1 remembered who she was before the consciousness transfer, but me now, Pegasus-5, I don't."

"So… it's a new identity, each time? Waking up an amnesiac, no memory of who you were?"

"Sort of. Same personality, I know my identity, same beliefs and instincts , but without the memories to know why you have those beliefs and instincts. It's… a disorienting experience."

He lowered his glowing eyes. "Hm. Guess we… almost have that in common."

Pegasus hummed in thought at that. She hadn't really considered it that way before, but she supposed he was right. The way Uldren Sov had been revived, reborn as a lost Guardian, alone with no knowledge of himself, the confusion and fear of that - it must have mirrored the struggle she'd had immediately after her most recent reset, although she'd had the benefit of experienced technicians and support from her Exo brothers and sisters. Instead of post-reboot therapy, he'd gotten enslaved.

She felt a pang of empathy somewhere in her chest, though it certainly wasn't in a heart.

"Yeah, I suppose so… hey, ah, Crow?" She lifted her hand, one metal fingertip touching underneath the Awoken's chin and gently tilting his head up before returning her palm to his shoulder. His glowing gaze focused on hers, trying to read her face but with his expression almost equally inscrutable.

"Yes, Pegasus?"

"I'm… I never properly apologized. For hiding the truth from you. I didn't want to- I should have told you from the start. I should've… helped you adapt, like I've had people help me." She squeezed his shoulder, then pulled away. "I'm sorry for what I put you through."

Crow flashed her a thin smile: much more than he usually afforded anybody. His hand hesitated before settling reassuringly on her thigh.

"It's- I don't know if I would have trusted you, had I known," he sighed. "In the end, I'm almost glad it worked out the way it did; look where we are now. What's done is done. That's behind me now. Behind us. You've done… so much for me, Pegasus. I can't ever repay it."

She met his eyes again, burning like bright embers as they captured her gaze. "There's nothing to pay back, Crow. I don't mean to sound sappy, but- I… I just want you with me." She laid her hand delicately over his, mindful of the stiffness of her metal skin.

He quickly glanced down at the touch, where their hands were held over her thigh, before looking back up at her. "I will-" He began with uncertainty in his voice, then paused and furrowed his brows in determination. "I will be. For as long as you'll have me."

Pegasus didn't even notice she'd been leaning in so deeply until she could feel the tingle of his breath on the highly sensitive sensors of her faceplate. She blinked, realizing how close they'd become, his shimmering grey skin filling her vision and his subtle organic smell filling her olfactory receptors, and she could almost imagine a tingle of electricity run through her circuits when he sucked in a deep breath and closed the gap.

Warm, soft skin met the smooth metal surface of her mouth. His glowing orange eyes fell closed, his fingertips lightly pressing into the hard shape of her thigh. She had nothing with which to kiss him back, only metal plates shaped into a pleasantly curving pair of feminine lips, but she pushed against him all the same, inviting his kiss with reciprocated pressure as she turned her body to face him fully. The sensation of being kissed wasn't new to her- she'd had flesh-and-blood partners before- but the strong desire to return it was. She dearly wanted to express the longing that she hadn't been able to put into thoughts until just now.

All too soon, he anxiously pulled back, his pupils dilated and his eyes rapidly criss-crossing her face as he tried in vain to read her reaction. "I-... I'm sorry," he blurted out, his face flushed a deep purple, his hands darting back to himself in preparation for some expected retaliation. "Please forgive me. I shouldn't have-"

Immediately missing the warmth and softness of his lips, Pegasus followed her immediate instincts: that is, she laughed and suddenly leapt at him from her seated position, tackling him onto the concrete rooftop with the ease only an experienced Hunter could have. He yelped in surprise, taken off-guard and overpowered. She pinned his shoulders down with her weight, straddling his hips, pausing for only a moment to look down at him. He'd raised his palms in front of his face, eyes closed and recoiling with the fear of someone accustomed to abuse, but he could have summoned a Light weapon to defend himself if he'd wanted to. Instead, he laid underneath her, ready to accept his punishment even as he flinched away.

Her hands slid from his shoulders to his chest, running over his lightweight monochrome armor and feeling the shape of his torso under the faux feathers made of synthweave. When the expected attack didn't come, Crow hesitantly lowered his hands from over his face, looking up at her with more confusion than fear. She met his eyes before she lowered herself down, wasting little time in bending to press her unmoving lips against the softness of his.

Crow made a muffled noise of surprise, but his body nearly instantly relaxed underneath her. She could feel the tension melt out of his limbs as his arms reached up and wrapped around her waist, whimpering softly against her mouth.

Pegasus pulled back again after lingering awhile, squeezing his waist as she briefly held his gaze.

His lashes fluttered over his eyes, brimming with emotion. "I-... I didn't realize you-"

"Shh." She hushed him before he could ruin the heated atmosphere with more angst. This wasn't quite love, but it was… desire. Something far less complicated, but harder to distinguish. She wasn't sure what her 'heart' wanted. All she knew for certain was exactly what her body wanted.

Her hands trailed down his sides until they found his hips, moving inward to rest her palms just above his belt. "Don't talk, Crow. Just fuck me."

All the tension he'd lost came right back in his shock, his entire body stiffening as his eyes became huge. "Wh- What ?"

"You heard me," she cooed, bending down and reaching her head beside his. She carefully took his ear lobe between her jaws, then trailed her 'teeth' down his neck, using tiny nibbles on his delicate skin in place of kisses. "I want to fuck you."

He started to squirm underneath her, but not away. His back arched at the tingle of her mouth on the nape of his neck, his hips pushing themselves into the touch of her hands.

"I- I didn't even know that Exos-"

"We do." Her fingers traveled to his belt buckle, already working at it as she nipped at his other ear, then down the opposite side of his neck, making him sigh. "'Humanisms.' We don't need to eat, sleep, or have sex, but we still have the urge to. Helps prevent DER."

He blinked a few times, curiously side-eyeing her even as he squirmed and sighed under her touch. "DER?"

"Going batshit from being a human consciousness in a robot body," she explained, unbuckling his belt but leaving it in the loops of his pants to instead slip her fingers up underneath his shirt and feel the valleys of lean, hard muscle under warm and pliable skin. Her mouth hovered near his ear, whispering under the crackle of her voice modulator as she rolled her hips against his. "So? You want to help a girl out, Crow?"

He groaned quietly and pushed his hips up into the friction, a noticeable bulge tightening his pants.

"I… Yes," he gasped as she nipped his neck and ran her thumbs over his nipples once she found them underneath all that synthweave. "But I-... show me how."

Pegasus chuckled. "Don't worry. It's all the same stuff, just made out of silicone."

"No, I mean-..." Crow frowned, glancing away towards the edge of the rooftop, his face flushed indigo. " Uldren Sov had had lovers, but I…"

Ah. That made more sense. Suppose Savathûn didn't share the details of those particular memories when she gave him the recap of his past life.

Pegasus hesitated, unsure if she really wanted to make Crow's technically-first time happen on the rubble covered rooftop of the ruined old Tower, thousands of feet above the City in the thin air and cool wind. Then again, she already had him at her mercy, needily pressing a solid tent against her body, blushing up at her and looking so adorably sexy.

"That's alright, Crow," she reassured, fingertips trailing back down his body, feeling the subtle shudder of his stomach under her touch. "Just let me take the lead."

He gulped and nodded, an almost endearing amount of trust in his fiery eyes. It was hard to believe that that eager puppy-dog face was the same one she'd put a bullet into all those years ago… She was quick to push that thought away, though - she wanted to focus on Crow , not Uldren. Not the past, just the here and now. There was no Taken prince of the Reef underneath her, only a handsome young guardian who'd followed her into hell and back and was waiting patiently for instruction.

"Good boy…" The praise sent a shiver down his body, a breathy little groan leaving his lips, and she started to undress him while he returned the favor. It took some awkward readjusting, the two of them eventually having to stand up in order to get their leg armor off, but finally they were both bare, settling back down onto their Hunter cloaks that they'd spread out like a picnic blanket to protect them from the scattered gravel and rough concrete surface of the rooftop.

She straddled him again, now with both of them sitting up straight. Crow hesitated before beginning to explore her body with his hands, feeling the solid and unyielding surface of her breasts, brushing his thumbs over the smooth peaks that approximated nipples, then tracing the curve of her hips, lightly pressing into the flexible rubber-like material over her joints. She was content to let him take his time, knowing this whole experience was somewhat… alien to him. Not to mention, she thoroughly enjoyed the admiration with which he felt her body, committing it to memory like artwork.

"You're beautiful, Pegasus," he said quietly, almost sheepish.

She knew, but she never did get tired of hearing it. "Not too bad yourself, Crow." Her eyes pointedly trailed down the Awoken's body, made of lean, wiry flesh with smooth grey-violet skin pulled taut over it all, a trail of fine black hair leading down to the hard cock pressed between their lower abdomens. "In fact, think I rather like it."

He smiled eagerly up at her, squeezing her hips. "Can you… feel all of this?"

"Mhm. I have… very delicate sensors. Especially here," she said, taking one of his hands in hers and guiding it to the apex of a breast, then moving the other between her thighs, pressing his fingers against her smooth silicone lips. "... and here."

He kept his hands right where she'd placed them, carefully beginning to fondle her, spreading her lips with his fingertips and exploring her pussy. She encouraged him with sweet sighs, rewarding him with a moan when he rolled his fingers around her perfectly-crafted clit. Her reactions spurred him on, trying to draw more pleasure out of her, his eyes burning bright with interest.

"Mnh… good boy," she sighed, having noticed how he'd seemed to enjoy it the first time she said it. This time, he bit his lower lip and leaned his head forward until their foreheads met just beneath her horn. He looked at her with lidded eyes, his cock throbbing, still untouched.

Pegasus graciously reached down between them to curl a hand around his base, mindful of the limited elasticity of her palm. He gasped as she began to stroke his length with even pressure, involuntarily bucking his hips up into her fist a few times and letting out a whimper.

"That- feels good," he huffed, face flushed, his fingers slipping through the heated lubricant that her aroused state had begun to release.

"Yeah?" She chuckled, a grin in her voice. "You like that, birdie?" She pumped his cock faster, ever so slightly squeezing his dark grey head at the peak of each stroke, thumb swiping over his very tip in a quick rhythm. Since oral wasn't really an option, Pegasus had learned how to give one hell of a handjob.

He gave a shaky breath, hips stuttering and eyes shutting as beads of precum leaked out of his tip and eased some of the friction. "Hah- ah- yes…"

"Then you'll love this," she purred, shifting her weight forward farther onto her knees and ignoring the uncomfortable pressure of the hard concrete rooftop underneath them. He pulled his hand out from between her thighs, damp fingers coming to settle on her hip as she angled herself over his cock. One hand guiding him, she rubbed his head between wet silicone lips, moving her hips to grind her clit against his tip before finally angling him to prod just barely at her dripping entrance.

Crow bit his lip, groaning in frustration as she teased him. She could read it all over his face: he wanted her, he needed her. But he was still too polite to get as rough with her as she usually liked her men to be -  she'd have to make him a little more desperate, first.

Pegasus dragged her pussy up and down the length of his shaft, taking her time to accentuate every twitch and throb. The pace was maddening for both of them. Crow took her waist in his hands, chin coming to rest over her shoulder, as he groaned against the nape of her neck with each languid stroke of heated silicone along his cock.

She rolled herself up until she hovered above him, his tip barely brushing the heat of her entrance, holding herself there as her arousal leaked out and dripped down his shaft. She then retreated some, positioning so she could rub her clit torturously slowly against his head.

"Mnfh… P-Pegasus," he whined into the nape of her neck, his fingertips digging into unmoving metal hips while he strained to thrust up against her body, craving the friction. "Please."

The feeling of emptiness was starting to cloud her thoughts, too. The instinctive human want to be filled, to be bred despite the absence of certain required biology - it was a craving Pegasus was all too familiar with, and one she was usually more than happy to indulge in, often the most fun out of all the technically-unnecessary 'humanisms' she'd been programmed with. If she had to sleep with people for her own mental stability, she'd do it gladly. And right now, Pegasus felt like if she didn't get Crow inside of her and soon, she'd go completely insane. He looked even more desperate.

She gripped his shoulders, pressing into the lean muscle to keep steady as she positioned herself over his tip, and then slowly, finally, began to sink down onto his cock.

Crow tensed up underneath her, his eyes going wide as he leaned back and watched inch after inch of himself disappear into her body. Once she'd settled fully to his lap, his head pushing at her hilt, he let out a low, breathy groan and shut his eyes, swallowing hard. "L-Light…"

She took a moment to enjoy the pressure, the sensation of him merely being inside of her, subtly stretching the flexible material her smooth inner walls had been made with. But she couldn't sit still for long. Rocking on her knees, holding his shoulders, Pegasus began to steadily ride him, lifting herself up and slipping right back down at an almost cautious pace. She didn't know how sensitive he was, or how long he would last, but from the way he shuddered and sighed out his pleasure, it probably wasn't terribly long.

She momentarily distracted him by pressing her sighing mouth against his parted lips, seeking the pleasant feeling of soft skin brushing against her face. He eagerly kissed her back, open-mouthed and panting out hot breaths with every roll of her hips that tickled the glowing hollows of her face's internals.

Crow began to somewhat awkwardly buck up into her, moving one hand from her hip to lay back on the ground behind him and provide a better support. He finally started using that athletic Hunter's body of his to thrust upwards, lifting Pegasus with his hips, deepening each kiss of his cock head into her core.

"Oh- oh, fuck," she moaned, not even meaning to put so much tightness into her voice. "Fuck, there you go, Crow…"

"Is this- good?" He panted, a subtle shimmer of his silver Awoken energy starting to show on his face, brows knit with concentration but his eyes heavy with lust.

Pegasus squeezed his hips with her legs, flattening both of her palms onto Crow's chest. "Mmh, it's good, but… get on top of me. Put me on my back. Can you do-"

Her world was spinning before she even finished asking him. It took only a moment for Crow to grab her arm and hook a leg around one of hers, and within a second Pegasus was flipped and flat on her back, pinned to the ground with Crow's full weight. He hadn't even slipped out of her in the motion.

She was left stunned for a second, blinking up at him as he held her shoulders. She was always forgetting Crow's ability; he might have been a New Light, but he'd been a skilled warrior long before his rebirth, and had kept the reflexes and agility of Uldren Sov when Glint revived him. Pegasus could still take him in a fight, she was sure, but maybe it was closer than she realized.

Pegasus felt something like a swell of pride for the ease with which he'd pinned her, letting out a quick chuckle that earned her a more confident smile on Crow's lips.

"Like this?" He cocked a brow at her, hands sliding down toward Pegasus' hips and angling them upwards, shifting his cock into a more comfortable position before beginning to roll himself inside of her.

She encouraged him with a moan, spreading her thighs for him and arching her back into his thrusts as they grew in urgency. He hilted himself fully with each stroke, his increasing desperation manifesting as a harder, rougher rhythm that quickly had Pegasus crying out and grasping at his upper arms.

"Ah-! Y-yes, just- like that…" Jolts of electricity shot from the thousands of delicate sensors in her core and along her walls right up to her central processors. The complexity of her creation made the pleasure deep, resounding, and made her mind crave even more while gradually laying a hazy fog over her higher thought processes.

By the Light , he fucked good. Suppose he was a born natural.

All he needed to do was one more little thing. "Touch me," she gasped, and he obeyed, a hand slipping from her waist and up to a breast, while the other slid between her thighs, taking up the exact positions she'd shown him earlier.

He rubbed his thumb over the smooth peak of her breast with one hand and rolled his fingertips in tight circles over the highly sensitive attachment she'd had custom-fitted with the other. The combined sparks of delight had her seeing stars, her mind close to short-circuiting, all the sources of sensory input building on top of one another until she was overwhelmed.

"Mmh, good boy, Crow… ah-!" The short-circuit came quickly with both his cock deep inside of her and his hands on her most delicate parts. She felt her mechanical joints lock up before an all-consuming static hit her like the brunt of a tidal wave and her eyes flickered out.

She was only unconscious for half a second, awakening with a full mental reset and a deep sense of purely human and natural satisfaction being artificially processed through her extremities. Crow hadn't stopped, not having noticed her brief 'power outage', the glow of energy dancing across his sweating skin ever more intensely as he swiftly neared his own climax.

"Pegasus-" He'd shut his eyes, visibly biting his lower lip and breathing in hitched gasps as he tried to restrain himself without slowing his pounding. "F-fh, P-Pegasus, I-"

"It's okay," she cooed, reaching one hand up from his shoulder to cup his cheek, feeling the coolness of his sweat on her alloy palm. Crow's eyes opened at the touch, lidded and burning like bright embers, staring back at her like she was the most perfect thing he'd ever seen. "Give it to me."

With her permission, he allowed himself to lose his composure, lowering his head and admiring their connection as he rutted relentlessly into her rapidly-overheating depths. He grunted and sighed with the vigorous rhythm, letting his lips remain parted as the shimmers of Awoken energy fluctuated violently across his grey skin.

Pegasus reached her head up to moan her pleasure out against his neck, only wishing she had a tongue to drag up the curve of his throat. Her fingertips pressed into the lean muscle of his shoulder, thumb stroking his cheek, trying to push back against his hips from her position.

"Hah- ah- Crow," she purred into his ear, forcing a rich groan from his throat. "I need you."

That erotic little sigh tickling his ear was the last push he needed. His thrusting became erratic, frenzied, until he buried his cock deep inside of her overly-hot silicone walls right as he reached his peak. He held her hips tight against his to keep her in place, while he released completely into her with a profound groan. The sensors picked up the sensation of every spurt until she was left with a satisfying feeling of fullness that she realized she had been craving for a long while now. Pegasus moaned and held him close with her inner thighs around his hips, grinding onto his softening cock a few times to milk the last drops of his cum, really indulging in the heat and fullness.

The pleasant stretch finally faded as Crow slipped out of her with a shuddering groan, his palms moving flat to the ground beside her head to prop himself up as he let his head hang while he caught his breath. "Light," he exhaled, voice thick and shaky, lidded eyes meeting hers.

Pegasus rubbed his shoulders soothingly, giving a hum of contentment to serve for a smile. Maybe it was odd, but she was… proud of him. "You did so well," she cooed, brushing a hand through the raven-black hair growing from just one side of his head, then using her grip in his hair to gently pull his head down and let her press her mouthplate against the shaved side of his scalp. "Mmh. So good for me, birdie… Did you give it all to me?"

He gave an exhausted chuckle, looking wearily at her. "If I gave you any more, I don't think Glint would be able to revive me."

"Good boy." She laughed against his ear, running her fingers carefully through his hair so as not to get any strands caught between her finger joints. He bit his lower lip and nudged his hips against her in response to the praise. "We should do this again sometime."

"Yes ma'am," Crow smiled before leaning down and pressing a soft kiss to her mouth, rolling off and onto his back beside her. She shifted onto her side, propping her head up on a fist and eyeing him as he caught his breath. "I think I'd… like that."

Pegasus chuckled and ran a fingertip down his chest. Now that the blood and adrenaline had settled, metaphorically speaking, anyway, her temperature sensors were starting to make her shudder in the cold of the thin atmosphere.

"We should probably get back to the Tower… it's fuckin' freezing up here."

Crow jolted up, glowing amber eyes bright with concern. "You're cold? Ah- dammit, I'm sorry-" He clambered up to his feet and lifted his Hunter cloak up off of the ground, wrapping it around her shoulders before she could refuse the offer, then sifting through their pile of armor to find Pegasus' clothes. No doubt he was frigid, too, but he made sure that Pegasus was warm and getting dressed before he did. He was sweet like that.

Of course, that didn't leave much to clean up with. Briefly contemplating how long it would take to scale back down the ruins of the Old Tower and make it all the way to her apartment to take a shower and wash her clothes, she decided it would be easier to just die and have Ghost revive her with a fresh body and armor. It might take him a while to find her corpse, since he was apart from her, spending time with other Ghosts around the Tower - but she didn't mind.

"Hey, Crow?"

He finished strapping his feathered cloak over his shoulders, flipping up his hood and almost managing to hide the lilac flush on his face with the shadow. "Hm?"

"Last one down is a Fallen Dreg." She laughed as she spun on her heel, already racing towards the edge of the rooftop and leaping off. She heard him calling after her just as the concrete disappeared under her boots, following her down in her freefall.

"Wh-! Pegasus!"

She spun onto her back as she fell, the ruins of the Old Tower rapidly growing distant. She shot a couple finger-guns up at Crow, laughing again before spreading out her limbs and waiting to hit the ground.

***

Pegasus-5 woke up again in her jumpship with more than just the usual headache that revival gave her. She sat up and rubbed her head, pausing as both the memories immediately preceding her death and the nausea of the Light washed over her.

"Ugh…" Ghost hovered over to her, pinching his shell like a judgmental eyelid. She groaned and swatted him away. "Don't look at me like that."

Ghost lowered his gaze and shook from side to side with a staticky sigh. "Just… be careful with Crow. He's got a gentle heart."

Pegasus rolled her eyes, but relented at Ghost's quiet insistence. "I will," she said, and Ghost squinted at her. "Promise."
