snowball fight

Summary:

Kagami hits Kuroko with a snowball, who pretends to be hurt. When Kagami rushes over to him, Kuroko launches a snowball hitting Kagami right in the face.

Notes:

This is a recycled fic from my Tumblr, haha. I modified it a bit, though.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Kagami and Kuroko were walking side by side through the park, a shortcut they take to get to their apartment, when a mischievous thought stopped Kuroko in his tracks. Kagami hadn't noticed and kept strolling ahead. That was when Kuroko leaned down, grabbed snow from the ground, and shaped it before launching the snowball at Kagami. The taller man had yelped, scowled at his boyfriend, and before they knew it, they were in an all-out snowball war with each other.

"Kuroko, you little shit!" Kagami slowly turned around to face his boyfriend, his eyes playfully narrowed as he felt a snowball hit his chest this time. "You think you're so funny, huh?" He bent over and scooped a handful of snow, molding it into a ball.

Kuroko tried to hide his cheeky grin, but it was no use. He got the reaction he wanted from Kagami. Instead, he puts his hands behind his back, acting coy. "Of course not, Kagami-kun."

Once Kagami formed his snowball, he threw it at his boyfriend, hitting Kuroko on the chest.

"Kagami-kun!" Kuroko opened his mouth in disbelief. "How could you!?" He pulled on the strings of his earflap beanie, making sure it didn't fall off, before bending down and forming another ball to throw at Kagami.

But Kagami was faster. Before Kuroko could get up to throw the snowball, one was already hurdling toward his face. He plopped down on his ass with a muffled groan. Holding his left eye, Kuroko frowns as he looks up at Kagami. "Ow."

"Oh shit," Kagami is quick to be at his side. "Are you okay, Tetsuya?" He crouches next to Kuroko, placing a hand behind his back and rubbing it in a circular motion. "I am so sorry. I swear I didn't mean to throw it that hard."

Kuroko stifles a smile and opts to fake a sniffle. "Are you crying? Oh fuck, please don't cry!" Kagami panics, "Let me see your eye."

"Okay," Kuroko mumbles, slowly removing the hand on the side of his face. He used his free hand to grab some snow, meanwhile. Kagami, too focused on his boyfriend, didn't see the sneaky action. "Tell me if my eye's red, Kagami-kun."

Kagami leaned closer to examine the eye but was caught off guard when a chuck of snow blinded his vision. "The fuck?" He, too, fell on his ass next to Kuroko. He wipes the snow off his face but is blinded again by Kuroko rapidly tossing snow at him. "Okay! Okay!" Kagami laughs, turning his body away. "You win, you dick."

Kuroko smiles at him triumphantly, and Kagami can't help but smile back. "C'mon, do you need help up?"

"Yes, please."

Kagami dusts off the snow off him when he's standing and extends a hand at his boyfriend. Once they're both on their feet, they laugh. "You're unbelievable," Kagami shakes his head. "I thought you were hurt." He puts a hand on Kuroko's beanie and lightly shakes him.

"Don't hate the player; hate the game." Kuroko fixes his beanie once Kagami drops his hand and beckons Kuroko to walk with him. Kuroko waits until Kagami turns his back to form one last snowball quickly.

"Drop it," Kagami warned Kuroko, turning to him. "Thought we established that you won?" He raised an eyebrow. Kuroko didn't respond and threw the ball at Kagami and pouted when Kagami easily dodged his hit. "Hey!"

"Gotta be quicker than that, babe," Kagami teased, readjusting his loose red scarf. "Don't pout. You started th—" Kagami gaped when he felt an icy hot feeling on his left cheek. "Kuroko!"

Kuroko innocently stood as he shot back, "Gotta be quicker than that, babe."

Kagami narrowed his eyes. "You cheeky little bastard!" He started to run towards his boyfriend, a broad grin on his face. Kuroko scrambled as he turned to run. Running in the snow is not easy, and compared to Kagami's long legs, Kuroko stood no chance. Kagami quickly caught up to Kuroko, tackling him into the soft snowy ground.

With a small 'Oof,' Kuroko fell into the cold snow.

"I hate you," Kuroko groaned, feeling the impact and Kagami's weight on top of him.

Kagami hummed, "Too bad, because I love you." He lifts himself for a second, allowing Kuroko to flip around and face him before putting his weight back on his boyfriend.

"Get off," Kuroko's tone light, and he pursed his lips. "It's cold, and I want to go home now."

"Aww, is my baby cold? Here, let me warm you up." Kagami cooed before kissing him warmly. Chapped lips moved slowly against each other as the snow continued to fall around them lightly. The kiss ended when Kuroko grabbed the snow beside them and smushed it against the other's face.

"That's what you get for tackling me."

Kagami huffed out a laugh, "Fair." Kagami stood up, then helped Kuroko out of the snow by offering his hand. When Kagami saw Kuroko shiver, he pulled the scarf off himself and wrapped it around his boyfriend's neck.

"Won't you get cold, Kagami-kun?" Kuroko asked, yet he made no effort to give back the scarf.

"Nah," Kagami pulled the smaller man into his chest, mumbling, "Let's go home. We still need to feed the dog," Before pressing a kiss to his forehead.

"Yeah, let's go home."

Notes:

I'm doing a kagakuro winter prompt theme. I'm feeling festive this month. <3
