Chapter Text

“Good evening. I’m preparing to go observe bioluminescent flora. Want to come?”

I nodded to the Forest Watcher, watching him as he turned around towards the entrance to the village.

“Great. Follow me. Do try to keep up.”

We ran off towards the Avidya Forest, stopping every few minutes so that Tighnari could stop and look at the various plants and mushrooms that lit up our path. We had strayed a bit far, but he seemed like he knew where he was going. I didn’t question it. I trusted him to keep us safe.

The glowing plants started to appear much less frequently as we continued deeper into the dense forest. It was still bright enough so that things were visible, but the rays of moonlight peeking through the treetops were much more prominent now. Eventually, he stopped, admiring a large pink flower that illuminated his angelic face as he bent closer to it.

“I believe that the best way to achieve mutual understanding with someone is to spend time with them. Other methods are much less realistic.”

I watched on silently as he studied the flower, his back to me. His tail gently twitched and his ears were perked straight up, as if he was listening for something. After a moment he turned and grabbed my hand, leading me into the hollow of a tree nearby. The moonlight shone through gaps in the trunk, providing just enough light that I could barely make out his silhouette.

“There, of course, are other ways to achieve this understanding. I often say that there is no need to rush, but … I’ve never before met a creature quite like you.” As I tried to process what he was saying, he slowly moved closer to me in the enclosed space we had claimed, continuing until my back was against the tree trunk. I could feel his body softly pressing against mine and my face flushed.

“Tighnari, I …”

He reached up and placed his hand under my chin, pulling my face upwards. The moonlight behind him illuminated the outline of his hair and ears in the dark, his head tilted to the side inquisitively. When he spoke next, I could feel his breath on my lips.

“Hm, that’s strange … I guess I’m used to newly recruited Forest Rangers addressing me as Master Tighnari,” he said quietly, his playful, raspy voice sounding almost melodic.

“Master … Tighnari?” I repeated, although it sounded more like a nervous mumble. He didn’t seem to mind too much, for as soon as his name left my mouth again, he inhaled sharply and moved his hand from my chin to my throat, applying slight pressure. A fire ignited somewhere deep inside my gut, a low burn coursing through me, making my face warm.

“That’s more like it. I knew you were a quick learner.” I don’t know what it was, but hearing his voice like this was like honey coating my veins. My insides grew hotter, my body subconsciously beginning to squirm against his. He chuckled lightly.

“Eager, are we?” I could sense the amusement in his voice, and though I couldn’t see his face, I knew that he had the same gentle yet calculated look he always did. Never showing any variant in emotion, always focused and learning and watching …

With our mouths so close I could smell the sweet scent of his breath, he took both of my hands in his and raised them above my head. I watched as his eyes then glowed a bright green and small vines formed from the wood above me, binding my wrists in place on the tree. His fingers traced lines down my exposed arms as I shivered to his touch.

Before his eyes dimmed again, he said calmly, “These aren’t meant to scare you. I just … I just want to observe you, my special little flower.” His hand brushed against my cheek, running his thumb across my lips, and then finally, in the darkness, he melted into my mouth.

His lips were moving against mine so deliciously I couldn’t help but let a moan escape from deep inside of my throat. I could tell this excited him by the way that he sank further into me, which allowed me to feel … all of him. I moaned again, clearly proving that I was as eager as he said.

“Oh, you’ll have to wait for that,” he rasped as he reached down to remove whatever clothing hadn't already been carelessly tossed aside. He trailed his fingers up my thigh and between my legs, before gently pushing them inside. I squirmed against my restraints as he began pleasuring me in a way I’d never let myself experience before. Soon my body was moving against his hand as his calculated gaze studied my every movement. His tongue began licking and teasing the soft skin of my chest before one of his small but sharp canines broke skin, making me all but scream with ecstasy. He acted fast, creating vines to cover my mouth.

He continued with his fingers until I had almost reached climax ... then he pulled away. I tried to whine in protest.

“Fascinating … well, I suppose you did earn it. You have been very patient.” A few shuffles of fabric was all I heard before feeling his length between my legs, slowly moving back and forth, teasing me. I’d had enough waiting. I tried to maneuver myself onto it, but he stopped and placed both of his hands on either side of my head, leaning in closely.

“Now, now. You would deny your Master control, my flower?" I went completely still. He chuckled again, tracing his hands delicately across my skin. He began moving back and forth again, his length still rubbing along the space between my thighs. His breathing was becoming more labored and he closed his eyes as if he was trying to hold on to what was left of his composure.

“This … unlike anything I’ve felt before …” he whispered. It was the first time I’d heard him not use a complete sentence. I could feel him start to shudder, slowing down his movements so much so that I kept thinking he would enter me, but he didn’t. I couldn’t take much more … I began to plead with him, before remembering there were vines there. All that came out was muffled nonsense.

Just like that, the vines around my mouth disappeared. He seemed to have regained enough of his composure to speak normally.

“Were you trying to speak? I apologize. Please repeat yourself.”

“Please … please, Master Tighnari …” I whispered.

“What are you asking for? Why do you beg?”

He was clearly toying with me.

“Please, I …” He began teasing me again, but I could no longer take it.

“No! Master, please! Please, do it-” I was interrupted by his mouth suddenly on mine, with a force that I was not expecting. When he pulled away, I realized his glowing eyes had returned, now staring at me as if he was looking at fresh prey. I shivered with excitement and awe.

His hand returned to my throat, lightly squeezing my jaw with his fingers as he looked down and finally pushed inside.

Gods, did he feel so unfairly good. I melted into my restraints. We both exhaled deeply, like we'd been holding our breath for too long. He tried to start slow and gentle, moving in and out at a normal pace, but that didn’t last long. I could tell that holding back was too much for him now. He tilted his head back and closed his eyes again, desperate moans coming from somewhere deep within his chest. Each one excited me all over again, fanning the flames of the fire that was burning so deep and so fast inside my body I was afraid I would be set ablaze.

I wrapped my legs around him and pulled him even closer, a low growl escaping his throat as he grasped my hips tighter in response. Were his eyes glowing even brighter? Yes … and such power he was radiating now. Almost on cue, small glittery green spores and petals began to float away from him, filling the tree hollow with a glowing green haze that almost made me feel dizzy. His usual calm and focused expression was replaced by determination, his moans becoming more animalistic with every passing moment.

His lips found mine again as he held me against him, my body moving with his while still being tethered to the tree. He found a faster rhythm now, our lips still locked together, his hips thrusting into mine, and I was in heaven. I could melt right here and become one with the fauna, let the forest swallow me whole, experience life for the first time behind new eyes.

We were together like this for what seemed like forever, though part of me actually wonders if we had managed to stop time ourselves. He released the vines that were binding me and I fell onto him completely, my arms and legs wrapped around him as he carried me backwards until my back met the tree. I laced my fingers through his hair and threw my head back, unable to keep quiet now. He was on top of me, sliding even deeper inside. This was too much, I couldn’t hold on any more ...

“T-Tighnari, I’m going to … can I please …” I managed to get out.

“Let go, my flower,” he breathed into my ear, and I overflowed. I had never felt such absolute pleasure in my life as I cried out against his shoulder. My release brought him to his own and he groaned desperately into my ear with each thrust, holding me tightly against him as he shuddered with pleasure.

When all that was left were our labored breaths, his grip loosened and he gently wrapped himself around me as if he was hugging me. Even his tail wrapped around us as we let our breathing slow and bodies stop quivering.

Gradually, the green haze that had enveloped us dissipated, his eyes returning to normal. The moon’s rays shone through the wood of the tree hollow where we stayed for what seemed like hours. We eventually had to start making our way back to the village, so when it was time, Tighnari took my hand again and led me out of the tree hollow, not letting go until we reached the path just outside the village entrance.

“Thank you,” he said. “I was … I didn’t think that I would lose myself like that.” He looked down, as if he was lost in thought. I stepped closer to him.

“Tighnari …”

He looked up and reached for my cheek, gently caressing it with the back of his hand.

“My special little flower,” he said and smiled before darting off, up to the treetops and into the night.

Notes:

I had originally planned for this to be a Tighnari one-shot, but my noodle brain had other plans after posting 🙃

Even though 'reader' is not the Traveler, the events of 3.0+ will be happening in the background.

That said, this is not going to be super canon compliant if I can help it. Its inception was purely self-indulgent so we'll see where it goes!

Thank you for reading!
