“Two, Edward?”
“They’re a pair. We can’t separate them. What if one gets lonely without the other?”
Ed makes that face and Stede’s resolve cracks.
“All right,” he says. “But no putting them in compromising positions.”
Ed moves into Stede’s space and speaks low against his ear. “Like the position I had you in this morning?”
Stede blushes and clears his throat. He squints up at the giant skeleton. “I’m not sure they’re articulated enough for that.”
Ed wraps his arms around Stede from behind, presses his mouth to the side of his neck. “Let’s go to plumbing and fool around.”
”Plumbing?” Stede tuts in disapproval even as he leans back into Ed’s embrace. “Where’s the romance in plumbing?”
Ed shrugs. “Pipes, I guess. Would you prefer hardware?”
“Oh,” Stede says, wiggling his hips. “I know exactly where you’re hard.”
“That’s it,” Ed says, his heat gone so quickly from behind Stede that he nearly falls backward. Stede finds himself being pulled along behind Ed.
He looks forlornly back at their cart. “Ed,” he whines. “Our stuff. The skeletons!”
Ed pulls him up under his arm to press his mouth close to his ear. “Fuck it. We’ll buy it online. If I don’t get you out of here right now I’m liable to bend you over a patio table.”
“Oh,” Stede says brightly, teasingly. “That does sound like a bit of fun!”
Ed nips at the shell of Stede’s ear. “Don’t tempt me, Bonnet.”
