“What is your problem, El,” Olivia snapped.
“I’m fine.”
“You’re not fine. Please talk to me.”
“The divorce was finalized yesterday.”
“El.”
“I’m fine, Liv.”
Elliot and Kathy’s marriage had been toxic for some time now. They had separated over a year ago. But finalizing the divorce was bittersweet. It was the moment that made it official that a few days a week each of them would walk through their door and not be welcomed by their children’s faces.
“You are not fine.” Olivia took Elliot’s hand in hers.
“No, but I will be.” Elliot smiled and squeezed her hand.
