Chapter Text

United Blues University (UBU), a very prestigious and a sophistical regarded Secondary School uniting all Blues. Because of the various auras of distinction represented at the institution, it is highly considered attending the secondary school for many students, also mainly because of its beautiful uniforms and a more mature atmosphere. It has even been granted with the term University. Not only does it continue to uphold a magnificent reputation, it is also the source of rambling chaos. Honestly, most of the inconvenient disobediences are overlooked. Frankly judging its popularity doesn’t mean it holds a great history, it actually holds one of the most bitterest in the world. If that information wasn’t confidential, everyone would have already known…

Monday(1), Week (1)

“Wow, what a beauty!”

“She’s also attractive, too! And really impressive…”

“I heard those two are freaking popular!”

The conjuring rays of morning sunlight that shone through the aperture managed to glisten on the slim, tall brunette, who was trekking with a redhead of average height, supposedly her friend, through the various chatters and stares of the passageway.

It was morning, and school had just begun.

“I’m telling ya, Robin, they’ll do anything for you. Usually, I just bribe them for money.” The short one suggested.

“I not sure if that’s a good idea…,” the other replied, followed by a shiver, “Their looks just make me feel slightly uncomfortable, that’s all.”

She actually despised being stared at.

“I can’t blame you; most men are just hopeless.”

The tanned wasn’t fully in agreement with her fellow colleague.

Sure, she thought some of them were stupid in the head, judging by the things they dared to attempt, but even women could act equivalently. After all, she wasn’t just any ordinary 17-year-old student at UBU, she succeeded in higher grades than most of the pupils there, despite being only in the 11th grade.

And ‘she’ would later come to be known as “Nico Robin”.

Thus her efforts and endeavors were highly acknowledged by discrete teachers and eventually Akainu Sakazuki, the school’s principal. History and drama were her favorites, although drama was but an After-School Club she voluntarily participated in.

A bright and delightful student like Robin was what every school wished to accept or to use as mere representation, but when it came to education, you wouldn’t dare disturb her and would never catch a glimpse of laughter displayed. In those moments, all that mattered to her was the sheet with study information required to be learnt by heart. And she would excel in doing just that, too.

“You’re partially not wrong. They develop slower than we do, but…”

School- or not school-related, Robin thought hard about everything and strived to be perfect; that would turn out to be the lifestyle she yearned for.

“I think…” she brushed her index against her lip.

Her mind thought for a rational response.

“I think the first sign a man matures is when he isn’t reacting to others’ immaturity and to others immaturely.”

The orange headed 10th grader, who is widely known as Nami, wishes to be as popular as the girl striding by her side. She has won multiple praises by the people around her excelling in the field of geography, being able to predict the climate in a few seconds.

In spite of her adoration, she still has a reputation that hastily needs mending. Rumors have been going around during the years concerning cases of pickpocketing being reported from distressed students. All her friends instantly pushed the blame on her without a second thought, though.

“What’s that supposed to mean now? You’re only saying that because one saved you from a house fire once...” The other scratched her head in confusion, her mind spinning with ambiguity.

“Nami, Robin! There you guys are!”

A distinct voice echoed through the halls followed by alarming steps and halted when he reached the two women. He advanced to jump in between and carried himself in mid-air by drooping both arms onto their shoulders.

“Oh, it’s Luffy! Good morning!” Robin giggled quietly.

He swung himself back and forth amidst the two, making sure not to place any accidental strain on them. He was relatively light, anyway.

“G’ mornin’, Robin!” he pulled off his signature smile, “Nami, let’s get going to biolo-”

“Idiot! Women need personal s-space!” She laughed whilst pushing him off.

“Luf- you can’t always run off like that!” Another dark-skinned boy approached, exclaiming and shaking his head.

“Sorry, Robin, he couldn’t wait to see all of us again throughout the weekend.” A cuter tone came after, this boy being shorter than the former.

“Chopper, Usopp!” Nami greeted both and demonstrated an initially creative trio-handshake between Usopp and her, with Luffy, who was still dangling on the lady’s shoulder, joining shortly thereafter. The purpose of its creation was apparent; the three had a vast friendship.

Afterwards, the five walked down the hall in unison, and because of the presence of her friends, the innumerable looks of earlier began to decline in number, remarked Robin. The gang eventually met Franky and Brook on the way to hear an announcement, which followed nearly every morning in the school’s auditorium.

It was quiet; only the tone of the headmaster ricocheted through the room in which all students at the school were seated. The man, who seemed to wear rather non-matching clothes for his position, endlessly spoke about the activities and new clubs that were planned to be hosted. The length of the speech quickly got on Robin’s nerves as she decided to blankly ignore it all. Spacing out, she struggled to get her sight off of a male student very distant from her, curious, she was, as he was accompanied by two other pupils, repeatedly begging for them to lower their pitch.

“Did ya hear, Torao?” Her underclassmen whispered towards the man in Robin’s sight,” No caps allowed!”

The one in question rapidly dodged Luffy’s hand that aimed for his top accessory, then folded his arms.

“Says you. You’re wearing an even worse hat than I am.” He smirked, “And shut up, I’m trying to listen.”

“Listening to this bullshit? Ha-ha! You’re representing an old timer!” Another mysterious redhead chuckled.

“-Shut it, Eustass-ya-,“ he mumbled between gritted teeth with the redhead snickering as Luffy interjected, cutting Law off with a dull tongue.

Originally, the youngster was pretty loud, and ascending his friends’ annoyance was his forte at that moment, but alas, his voice suddenly decreased in volume.

He said nothing and looked towards the ground in a panic.

For some unknown purpose did Eustass mimic the former’s behavior.

Befuddled by Straw Hat’s actions, Law questioned him on the topic.

“What’s wrong, Mugiwara-ya--”

“Trafalgar Law, I assume.”

The said person froze and instinctively searched for the voice that had called out his name. When he found it, all the pigmentation on his body nearly depleted.

His eyes rested upon the headmaster on the stage that held a microphone in his hand. He, Akainu, implied being strongly bothered judging by the furious grimace he made.

As of now, all attention was on the alarming trio, intensely focused on Torao himself.

He sat silent for a second before sincerely apologizing and bowing respectfully, forcing the duo on each side of him to bend over without their obligation likewise.

“It Won’t h-appen ag-ain…”

An eruption of glee abruptly rang through the room from uncounted students, it went on and on and never seemed to come to an end.

Even Robin had to giggle; she fortunately has gotten used to Mugiwara’s amusing habits that never failed to make her laugh every time. But the reason she laughed this time was because of Law. The way he vigorously pushed their heads in the direction of the ground with them denying his help strangely entertained her.

“That’s absurd!” She thought.

Furthermore, the one with the bear hat witnessed it all.

Though the amount of people in the room did his eyes not once look away. With all the commotion were only her soft chuckles clear to his ears, like as if everything else muted out of existence. Something kept his eyes glued on the woman his mind soon categorized as ‘interesting’.

“That’s Nico Robin-ya, right? Something about her makes everybody have high hopes for her.” He thought to himself, “She’s popular, that’s a start, but…”

Why can’t I look away?

“ENOUGH!” Akainu’s shout screeched through all the pupils’ ears, giving Law quite an astonished fright, breaking him free from his daydream.

“Punishment will be received by me if I hear another word!”

The speech progressed without a sound and ended similarly, the only difference being the trey that previously caused an uproar were given detention on the first day of the week.

“-bin?-“

“ro--in-..”

“Robin?”

The one the blue-haired, Franky, spoke to awoke from her daze in a flash.

“Y-ye?”

“You’ve been spacing out a lot recently, is everything alright?”

“It’s fine…” Robin scratched her eyes, she trailed and stared off into the farness.

Momentarily, she is seated in her classroom with her fellow classmates Franky and Brook as the teacher, Aokiji, taught the class a little about history.

Her sight canceled the lesson and instead caught a familiar pair in the distance through the window of her classroom, one dragging the other, arguing about coming late and—missing assembly?

“That must be Zoro and Sanji,” she pondered in mind and rested her chin on her palm, “ That’s why they weren’t at the assembly…?”

Robin halted her thoughts.

“This isn’t like me. Why am I so distracted?”

Desperately trying to find the answer to her question, she searched around the room until her vision fell upon the lecturer.

“Could it be?”

“Is it him?”
