Chapter Text
After not being able to for a long time, I took all opportunities possible to see the world. I just had a nice few months in Japan and now it was time for something different. I’ve never been to Australia, so that’s where I headed next.
Who is this person telling their story? Oh well, let me give you a quick intro.
My name is Elizabeth, but please, call me Lizzy. I gave that name to myself once I left home to join Overwatch in the omnic crisis when I turned 18. Born in Germany, moved to Sweden when I was 8 with my parents. It was much more safe up there. Less people, less technology - less harm. I lived a nice life up there but always had the urge to go for something bigger. I studied medical informatics, because healing these days was less surgery and more knowing how to use the right machines. I was always more into tech than bodies. It seemed like the easiest way for me to get on board. So I took it.
Overwatch hired me as a medical assistant back then. I wasn’t exactly the best student and also very young but - let’s just say I knew the right people to get where I wanted to.
I had some fun times in Overwatch and a lot of great acquaintances. It all went down when a mission failed, stuff I couldn’t control happened and my heart stopped beating after being severely injured. My best friend in Overwatch knew what he had to do when Mercy couldn't save me. He called my family and I was brought to my brother as fast as possible. He had 3 PhDs in all kinds of genetics and medical stuff, owned his own company for artificial limbs but always researched ways to just let the body regenerate itself instead of sticking metal to it. And what can I say? He made it. He froze me for 13 years and kept testing until it worked. I came back. Spent a year in his lab learning to walk again and got some nice tech that I also helped invent. I got a device that lets me put a clone of me somewhere that I even had control over. Confusing enemies was the best. I usually had fun robbing some stuff here and there, especially tech, to try and improve my gear.
Well, after having a stockpile of money sitting in the bank for so long, I could afford buying all the stuff - but where's the fun in that?
So, this time it was gonna be Australia. Seeing what kind of waste the wastelands had to offer.
Also I heard nice stories about some junkers. I was looking forward to meeting some.
