kindergarten
you were very nervous for your first day of school, although your mom tells you it'll be great you can't help but feel a little bit scared. your mom tells you to be good and that she loves you. (what you didn't know was that this would be the last time you saw her.) as she's leaving you see a boy a little bit taller walking all by himself into the classroom, you were very confused because all the parents were bring their kids in. you decide to introduce yourself to him, " hi i'm y/n, what's your name?" the little boy was reading when you asked him, he looked up from his book looking a bit annoyed but the look quickly faded as he fully saw you. "oh, hi i'm ed, how are you." you sat next to the boy for the rest of the day because you two really hit it off, you started to feel a lot more comfortable now that you had made a friend, but now the phone was ringing in the class, the teacher tells you all to lower your voices to a whisper, as she answers the phone you saw her jaw drop and her eyes start to water, a couple minutes later the guidance counselor comes running in. the teacher asks you to step into the hallway. the counselor and the teacher tell you that your mother was in a serious car accident and that she didn't make it. you felt this unrecognized feeling in your chest you ran into the classroom and tried to forget what happened but the teacher called your father and he came and got you, he barely talked to you during the car ride, you could that he was mad, but you didn't know why. but when you two got home you instantly knew why after he said "why! why did she have to take you to school! IT'S ALL YOUR FUCKING FAULT!" you didn't understand why he was so mad at you. as you went to bed (without dinner) you couldn't help but wish you could talk to ed.
