Chapter Text
5 years and counting,
is what I used to say.
but when I take a gaze inside my mind,
I know longer; see you, hear you, or feel you.
For those long, agonizing, treacherous years,
I was plagued with your presence,
my thoughts were tainted.
A battle between my head and my heart.
Does he love me? he loves me not.
I was conflicted and confused.
What you said, how you acted,
they battled daily plaguing my brain.
One day this changed
I started paying attention.
I noticed him.
His relatively short stature,
those metallic structures that wrapped
around his ears.
Glasses that not only frame his face, but
framed his right eye that's the perfect
swirl of clear oceans and glistening topaz.
His lips are constantly up-turned, emphasizing
that grin he likes to draw upon.
He holds his curls in a bundled ponytail, allowing
loose fluffy threads too hang around his face.
I can now confidently say 5 years,
and no longer counting.
