The Arrangement.

Summary:

I guess this is just where I post these now.

Work Text:

“Here, let me help you with that.” Akuji grabbed Moiraine’s shirt and began helping them put it over their shoulders.

“I can handle this much.” they huffed, trying to put it on themselves.

“Don’t be stubborn, here-” Akuji shoved it over their head, straightened it out, and began to button the top.

“I said-woman if you’d just let me-” Moiraine began to object again, but Akuji had already started in her task of tidying up Moiraine’s clothes. So they relented, allowing what had become a routine between the two now as they continued to brood over the now fussy tiefling.

Akuji had become what Moiraine could only describe as a fussy mother hen after the incident. Yes, Moiraine had lost an arm but was still fully capable of taking care of themselves. ‘I’m older than you.’ was the usual objection, but fell on deaf ears as Akuji would try holding things for them, help them up, and put their boots on. Anything Moiraine was trying to do, Akuji was trying to help in some sense. It was starting to get on their nerves, but if it made the tiefling feel better about whatever had been bothering her these past few weeks, fine.

Moiraine huffed, turning to look in the mirror. They only saw the clothes floating there. They needed to get used to not seeing themselves anymore. It was an eerie thing, to look in the mirror and only see the clothes you knew were on you, but nothing else. Like you were a ghost to this world now, only passing through…

“You look great.” chimed the tiefling from behind them.

“I’ll take your word for it,” they said before turning to look at her.

The face she was making gave Moiraine a sudden pit of guilt in their gut. Was that sadness? It was something. Something Moiraine couldn’t place on their own. “What is-”

“Let’s head out then.” Akuji turned swiftly, grabbing the bags from the floor.

“Let me carry-”

“I’ve got it,” she said quickly before heading towards the door to open it.

Moiraine took two steps faster than her and reached the door first, grabbing hold and opening it. “Ladies first,” they said.

Was that a hint of a smile? No...couldn’t be.

The two walked down the stairs and into the common space of the inn, seeing all races and classes sitting around for a late morning meal. Akuji spotted their group sitting in the far corner and walked over to them, setting the bags down beside Zalair and Cire. She made them scooch over to make room for them. She’d become rather pushy as of late, making sure she was within arms reach of Moiraine. Moiraine had made a note of it, but so far did nothing with that information.

She grabbed two platefuls of food from Sayoran with a smile, handing one to Moiraine. She grabbed a fork, stabbing some bacon, and was about to lift it to Moiraine's mouth.

The look Moiraine gave her made it very clear that was not going to happen. “Do it if you don’t want to keep your arm,” they said, giving her a quick glare.

Akuji’s face flushed with emotions Moiraine couldn’t quite place. A hint of guilt was all their eyes caught. They felt sorry for the comment they thought was funnier than threatening.

Akuji placed the fork down on Moiraine’s plate and turned to her food, now silently picking at her food. She hadn’t been eating much these past weeks. Just enough to keep going. Not her usual splurging on the delicacy of each town they came to, or how she needed to try every little drink that the inns carried.

No. She’d become more...diluted these past weeks. A shadow of her bubbly self. Moiraine would sometimes catch a flash of her old self during a battle, or when meeting new people in the town. But she had lost her flirtatious way of talking to everyone. Moiraine couldn’t figure out why the sudden change was pissing them off a little. They weren’t sure if they liked this change. Yes, she was more manageable than she was before but that was any...fun?

‘She used to be more fun.’ Moiraine thought. When they’d first met; the most outrageous encounter they’d ever experienced. Akuji had been changed to a wall in a danky storage room and seemed rather gleeful about it at the time. She’d flirted with them all from day one, and had spent half the time goofing off. But, she always healed their wounds and took every battle very seriously. Even when she’d been gravely injured herself she was making jokes, always cracking a smile and giving hints of sexual innuendos whenever it seemed convenient to her. She was...Moiraine had to admit, only to themselves, that she was charming times. She was infectious.

Now she was just...it wasn’t right. It made them feel...it was wrong. This change wasn’t better, it was like an oil painting in the rain, slowly losing its color.

Moiraine angrily stabbed some food and shoved it into their mouth, now irritated.

The only one who seemed to notice was Sayoran, who coughed uncomfortably. “So…” he pushed around some food on his plate. “What will we do today? I saw some shops that looked like they were selling some magical items. Akuji, you could stock up.”

Akuji shrugged, taking a bite of the egg. “I’m low on some potions, and I have a scroll I’d like to see if they know anything about. It’s just labeled ‘magic’” she said looking up.

“That’s very...specific,” he said.

She grinned. “We love a mystery.” and she went back to her food.

There it was again. Hints of her old self, quickly hidden away by the clouds over her soul. It was becoming more irritating by the second.

Moiraine stood up, shoving their food to the side. “You.” they pointed at Akuji, “You’re coming with me.”

“O-Okay?” she said, standing up. She gave a small bow to the rest of the group before following Moiraine out the door and into town.

Moiraine was walking quickly now, Akuji keeping pace, but barely. They were more irritated than mad at this point. ‘Why is she acting so different? I know she’s still in there.’

“Where are we going?” she asked, keeping pace.

“On a date.”

She stopped in her tracks, “What?!”

Moiraine turned to look at her, “That’s what you call them, right? So let’s call it what it is from now on. I’m taking you on a date.” their face was more irritated now that they had to explain. Akuji always called going out with any of them alone a date, why the sudden objection now? Why was she suddenly treating them differently than the others? What had changed?

Akuji didn’t move from her spot, so Moiraine walked over to her and grabbed her hand, pulling her along. She followed but said nothing.

Moiraine was on a mission now. They’d seen a fair of some kind in town that would be perfect to break her shell. If that didn’t get her back to normal, nothing would. They looked back at Akuji as they walked.

Akuji was keeping up but said nothing. She looked at Moiraine’s hand holding hers; her face was a twisting concoction of uncertainty.

What was going on behind those eyes? Nothing was clear, and it enraged Moiraine more now than it did before. What was different?

Moiraine approached the centaur who stood in front of the entrance of the fair. Before he could greet them, they pulled out two coins and handed them to him before pulling Akuji along and into the fair.

Inside were rows and rows of stalls selling items, as well as what looked like games. The crowd was overall cheerful, with children running ahead of parents, onto the next stall for fun. Moiraine pulled Akuji to their side and let go of their hand. They gestured forward, expectantly.

Akuji looked at Moiraine, uncertain. “What is this?” she said, looking at Moiraine suspiciously.

“I told you. A date. Pick one.” they waved their hand, motioning to the stalls, waiting.

Akuji looked around, then back at Moiraine. She wasn’t getting the point. “We should just go, you need your-”

“Oh shut up!” Moiraine snapped, “You are the only one making a big deal of this! I’m fine, now-” they grabbed Akuji by the collar, “Pick. A. Game.” they narrowed their eyes.

Akuji looked at them. Really looked this time, trying to understand what was going on behind that irritated face. She took Moiraine's hand and removed it from her collar, shoving it off. “Fine...” she sighed, looking around.

She spotted what looked like a ring toss. The prizes varied from small trinkets to large enchanted toys in the shape of creatures they’d so often come across in their travels. She pointed. “Let’s play that.”

Moiraine followed her finger. They smiled. This was a game they were good at. “Alright.”

The two walked over to the ring toss, the date had finally begun.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Akuji giggled as Moiraine grumpily shoved more prizes into the bag of holding, mumbling something about it being a waste of space. They’d been out all day at this point, Moiraine showing off their mini-game skills. There was some fumbling, at first, but they quickly adapted to using their arm for other things that didn’t have anything to do with fighting.
They were walking back to the inn now, Akuji smiling, holding the only prize she wanted to carry. A red kobold that reminded her of Redsly. It was enchanted to blink and walk around like a wind-up doll, and she had found it so charming, that Moiraine felt forced to play the game several times to win it for her.
Moiraine had to admit, that was kind of fun. They were glad to see Akuji smiling, at least. Overall a successful mission. They could get used to seeing that smile...
Akuji stopped, looking at the windows. The glow of the candles within gave it a very ‘welcome home’ vibe. It was inviting to see. She looked at Moiraine, not moving her head, then back at the inn. She blinked slowly, then sighed.
Moiraine looked over. “What?” her face was sad again.
“What am I doing?” she laughed a little. Akuji held up the kobold toy, lifting its arms up and down.
Moiraine stayed silent, expectantly.
Akuji went on. “Having a fun day with you, I mean.” she sighed, looking at the inn. “With everything that’s happened...and keeps happening, what right do I-...we have.” she went on. “With Cassandra missing, the whole world seems against us, and you…” she looked over at Moiraine now. Her face was filled with a painful expression like it physically hurt to be reminded of what had happened those weeks ago.
Moiraine looked at her, confused, then to what was left of their arm. “Wait...do you...do you think this is your fault?”
Akuji smiled weakly, “Of course, it’s my fault.”
“In what way is it? I lost it in a fight that had noth-”
“You wouldn’t have been in that fight if I had been more careful.” she looked away, “If I hadn’t been so trusting-” her face was angry now, “this wouldn’t have happened. I should know better.”
Moiraine’s mouth was agape. Was this what had been bothering her this whole time? “Akuji,” she said her name and it felt soft on their lips as if they had never said it before...or rather, said it like this. “It’s my job to protect you,” they looked away, “all of you.” they clarified.
Akuji looked at them with a sadness Moiraine couldn’t place. Why? Why was she upset about this?
“Do you understand how silly that is?” she kind of laughed a bit but went on. “Why would you want to protect me? You don’t know me. This group is just...I don’t even know what I should call us. Just a bunch of misfits who-”
“Who cares how or why it happened? We’re together now, and we will be until the mission is completed.” Moiraine said.
Akuji laughed again, small and soft. “Okay. When will this mission be complete? When did it start and how does it finish?” she walked up to Moiraine. “Tell me.” she poked them in the chest with a delicate finger.
Moiraine had never noticed how soft the sorceress's hands were before...they could feel how soft they were from just a touch. They wondered how it would feel to hold them…
“When will this be over? Which mission is the last one?” Akuji spread out her fingers now, her whole hand on Moiraine’s chest, searching for a heartbeat that was barely there now...a whisper of what it once was.
Moiraine didn’t know what to say now. Was there an answer to this question? She was right, after all. Nothing was truly holding them all together except the convenience of it all. Did any of them even know one another? What did they know besides the basics? The surface was barely scratched as to who each one of them was. How do you get closer?
How do you get closer? They wanted to be...closer.
Akuji moved her hand off their chest and sighed. “Enough of this, it doesn’t matter. Let’s head in, we need to sleep. We head out in the morning.” Akuji went to walk into the inn, leaving Moiraine behind.
Moiraine watched her leave and felt something shift inside. Something needed to change in this relationship. They couldn’t place what this need was, but they knew if something didn’t change...they’d be left unsatisfied.
Moiraine reached out their hand and grabbed her shoulder. “Wait...” they said it gruffer than they wanted. They cleared their throat. “I need...” they searched their mind for something. “Blood.”
Akuji turned to look at them. “Do you want me to get one of the inn waitresses I have some gold-”
“No need. I’ll just take yours.” Moiraine grabbed her by the shoulder and moved in to bite.
Akuji pushed away quickly. Moiraine looked at her. Her face was a twisting of embarrassment and...something else. If this was the approach, then so be it.
“What?” Moiraine took a step closer, “You’re always volunteering. Why push away now?” Akuji turned away, pulling her long hair to one side and brushing it with fingers. Was she…could this need be mutual?
Moiraine took a step forward, “I’ll give you something in return.”
Akuji looked at them. Really looked. Her eyes searched their face, trying to read into what each line, scar, and expression could mean. Moiraine said nothing to her, only looked at her expectantly. Neither admitted that their hearts had begun to beat just a little faster than before.
Akuji kept looking at them before finally..nodding.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The two of them sat on each side of the bed, not looking at each other. Moiraine’s mind was racing. Was this really a good idea? What if this was too much too soon? Akuji had always been so casual about these things, but she hesitated this time. She flirted with everyone she met and took them to bed so easily, and yet...there they both sat, a bundle of nerves as if this was the first time for each of them. Akuji said nothing, just brushing her hair through her fingers while Moiraine awkwardly smoothed out the lines of their pants, trying to figure out what to say to start this very rushed arrangement.

It was Akuji who finally broke the silence. “You can just take my blood if you want. I don’t need anything in return,” she said, not looking at Moiraine.

“That wouldn’t be fair. Besides…” Moiraine turned to look at her back, “It’s not like this isn’t something you’ve talked about before.” they said it nonchalantly, but there was a bit of uncertainty in their voice.

Were they rushing this? Was this even a good idea? How would this change things? They’d never felt this type of vulnerability with anyone except Cassandra. This was all very new. Was this just them coping with their worry for Cassandra? Were they just using her to ease the pain already in their heart? There was a sense of guilt that came with this action. Something they would swallow for now, because the desire was there now, and something needed to change.

Finally, Akuji turned to look at them. Her face said it all. There was the longing in her eyes too. This was something she wanted just as badly as Moiraine did. The mutual lust was there. Even if neither wanted to talk about it, there had been this type of tension very early on in their adventure. There had been a time were Akuji had stopped her endless flirting with them, perhaps that was when she realized something was happening. The fear of true intimacy was within them both.

But to lie about it was unfair to both of them. If there were emotions behind these desires, neither were fully aware of it or perhaps, didn’t wish to acknowledge it at this time. For now, allowing the animalistic desire to take over was enough.

“Raine...”Akuji looked at them and something in her eyes had changed. She looked worried, unsure. As if doing this would wound her in some way.

But the way she said their name awoke something inside Moiraine. The soft desire changed. It became more lustful than before. The way Akuji’s soft husky voice almost ached with the way she spoke their name. It dripped with desire. Something long held inside, too afraid to give it life by speaking it into the world. Now Moiraine knew this wasn’t going too fast. This had been a long time coming. What that implicated could be sorted out later.

They turned, reaching across the bed to grab hold of Akuji’s arm, shoving her down onto the bed with a soft force. Not too commanding, but just enough that Moiraine got across what was going to happen next. Akuji relinquished any control she may have had in the situation and let herself be commanded. Moiraine positioned themselves on top, holding her down by the shoulder, and looked at her. That same feeling of uncertainty crept into their gut again.

Until Akuji reached up a hand and gently cupped Moiraine’s cheek, rubbing a thumb over their lips. All anxiety went again. They leaned in and began to kiss her. Softly at first. The two tried to figure out each other's styles before Moiraine put a little more force into it. Teeth began to clash as the two found their rhythm, lips pressed hard, tongues trying to find some way to fit into this while the hunger long ignored began to bubble over, becoming more and more apparent to each other that this had been a long time coming.

Moiraine gasped, pulling back a little from their kiss to slowly make trails down her neck and to her collarbone. They felt Akuji’s arms wrap around their shoulders, hugging them in closer. They took in a breath, smelling the mix of perfume and the natural sweetness of Akuji’s sweat. It was intoxicating as they opened their mouth, letting their fangs graze over the flesh, searching for a good spot to sink in and feed another hunger that was inside of them.

Akuji’s skin prickled with anticipation, breath bated, holding just at the edge of a gasp as she felt the sharpness of their teeth over her. Nervousness was the least of her worries. Would this feel good? How painful could it be? The dirtiness of her desires made her feel a little shameful, but her curiosity wouldn’t allow her to dwell on it for long. She’d wanted this; she thought of it as a passing thought at first, trying not to let it grow into more than a fleeting idea. But it had bloomed these past months into something of a yearning. What would it be like to be in their arms...to be with them? Something she’d stowed away quickly, not wanting to have to think about what that could actually mean. She’d wanted others before, but this was stronger, perhaps because she couldn’t have it, and now that it was happening she felt like a fresh lamb, uncertain about what to do in something she did so naturally before. Why was this any different than before?

Moiraine found a spot just at the nape of her neck and sunk their teeth into it. The warmth that flooded their mouth was as always, intoxicating, but more so now with the situation at hand. They drank deeply, not letting a drop spill as they felt themselves regain the strength they hadn’t realized they’d lost. Feeling themselves grow warmer with the life-giving liquid. Her blood tasted like a fresh cup of tea on a chilly spring morning. Hints of rose petals and honey were an aftertaste as Moiraine released their jaw and pulled away, licking up any blood that might have escaped their lips. They looked down, and what they say was dizzying.

Akuji lay there, hair pulled to one side, revealing her neck in an almost shameful fashion. The bite accentuated her neck like a necklace of blood-red rubies. She was breathing heavily now, her face twisted in a twinge of pain, but was almost erotic in the way her blush pinked her pale skin. Moiraine thought it was almost a sin on its own to be privy to such a sight. This woman oozed sex like a pheromone just for Moiraine. The sight of her panting, hands above her head, held carelessly, almost innocently, woke up a beast Moiraine hadn’t recognized in themselves until this moment. This woman. Akuji. She was. “Beautiful.” Moiraine let it escape their lips.

Akuji looked Moiraine in the eyes now, face still flush. There was something there. Desire beyond imagining. If there was true emotion behind it, it was hidden with the lustful eyes of someone begging to be taken. And Moiraine would oblige this unspoken request. Akuji pulled them back down to kiss them, mouth hot. Again it was a fight to find what the other was trying to say. Lips being pulled and bitten, teeth dragging, gasping for air but diving back into the deep again for more. Both fully relenting to the other as they found their hands clawing, starved for the skin.

The two tangled limbs together as they searched and grabbed at clothes, trying to free each other from the shackles of decency. Clothes were offensive at this point in the game, and both tried to help the other get free. Moiraine struggled to get themselves up as they ripped at the belts that kept Akuji tied into her cheongsam, struggling with their hand to unclasp this prison she kept herself in. Their frustration with it came out as an annoyed grunt, starting to pull at the straps now.

Akuji let out a small giggle, stopping in her task to unbelt herself for Moiraine. She undid the clasps, her chest heaving up and to the side with their newfound freedom. She stopped there, though, and went back to pulling at Moiraine’s shirt, pulling at it.

She slid a hand under their shirt and began to feel up, finding a lean and strong stomach, bumps of muscle covered in scars long past healed. Her hands found the dips of valleys and mountains of strength that was a lean body type. Concentrated power. She had known there must have been muscle under all that armor, but the leanness of it surprised her. They were strong, there was no doubt there, but the type of muscle had surprised her. A lean wiry body held a lot of strength in it, even if to some it didn’t seem impressive like those you often found on the more powerful races of this world. She decided she needed to thoroughly investigate this newfound information, and she did so by placing both hands on the sides of the shirt and lifting it up and over Moiraine's head, which was allowed with only a small amount of protesting.

Moiraine leaned forward, chest strong, arm lean and dangerous as they looked at Akuji. This was a warrior's body. The scars alone proved that. One scar caught Akuji’s eye the most. A viscous bite mark that had changed their fate to be cursed to the night one day. The signs of this change had already begun, sped up by the last battle which cost them an arm. Their hair was mostly white now, only strands of black survived. Skin sickly white now, pink at the joints, hardly any warmth left. Yet Akuji marveled at the mere sight of it, a blessing to behold. Such precision power was usually for the more bulky races. Elves were often thought of as soft and smooth. Moiraine throws all of that out the window with their towering demeanor and lean muscle. A brick house they were not, but all the more desirable for being such a rare find.

Akuji felt the pulling at her own clothes now, belts finally lose. What kept her chest at bay was just a small clasp that closed the cheongsam shut. This was the part she dreaded. Each time she had this type of encounter it was a little unnerving. Would they be horrified by it, or accept it and move on? She held her breath, her anxiety returning. Moiraine pulled open the dress, chest truly free now exposing her large breasts, and, what she fear, the horrifying mark on her chest like a screaming jester, mocking her each time she saw it. She looked at Moiraine, trying to read their face. She placed a hand over it, protectively.

“So that’s where it is,” they said it bluntly, without any hint of judgment.

Before Akuji could ask, Moiraine was fondling her breast with their hand, kneading it like freshly slapped dough. They buried their face between them, kissing and nipping.

A wave of relief swept over Akuji, wrapping her arms around Moiraine’s head as they tried to devour them with kisses. To not be judged by, what she thought of as a deformity was a relief to her. She had questions about their reaction but was too consumed by the pleasure of their kisses to ask at the moment. She slipped her fingers through their hair and down their back, feeling the hardness of muscle under the skin. Her fingers traced the lines of scars and valleys as she had before, feeling her breath quicken with each kiss and squeeze. Then. A bite.

Moiraine marked Akuji’s left breast with a bite, drinking in more, not just for the feed, but for the pleasure they both got from it. Akuji let out a small whimper of pleasure, pushing into their mouth, arching their back slightly, unconsciously. The spice of pain and pleasure was something she knew well but felt different knowing the pain fed a different hunger in her partner. Akuji moved a hand to Moiraine's neck placing a thumb on her throat. She felt Moiraine swallow, and the thought of some part of her entering their body, feeding them, was too erotic to place one feeling on. It quickened her pulse and fluttered her chest with escaped breaths. It felt...amazing. Long had she wondered, but now to experience it, she couldn’t feel ashamed of something feeling so good.

Akuji pulled them away and up to kiss them again, tasting the irony taste of her own blood on their lips, and not having any mind to feel odd about it. She could give them something they needed, and the thought of it filled her with a longing to be the only one to give them this need. A desire to be selfish. A desire she knew wasn’t so easily admitted, so she hid it away for a later time to think about.

Moiraine kissed her, really kissed her. As if the kisses before didn’t count, and they were making up for lost time. Their hand traveled down her chest and to her stomach, feeling her core shiver with each touch. She reacted well to touch, it seemed. As if starving for it always. Perhaps the reason she was so flippant with herself. Someone who is forever thirsty for something can never truly be filled, it seems.

They felt barriers now when they went to go lower. Leather pants, hiding away the long-sought-after spot. Moiraine parted lips cursing, then looked down. Akuji’s pants were still on. An infuriating fact that sent Moiraine into a quiet rage. They took hold of them and pulled. Hard. The sound of ripping followed by a protesting Akuji was ignored by Moiraine as they kept pulling until all was revealed.

“Hey, those are my good pair,” Akuji shouted, genuinely upset now.

Moiraine looked up briefly, “I’ll get you new ones.” they said, returning their eyes to the prize at hand. Their hand slipped down now, grabbing hold of her center, feeling the warm welcoming liquid. Akuji looked away, taking in a breath. Moiraine looked up, smiling a little. “Didn’t take you for being shy.”

Before Akuji could object, Moiraine slipped a finger in and her words got caught in her throat. Moiraine messaged the inside, slipping another finger in. They were soft at first, but as they slipped another finger in, they became rougher, hovering over Akuji, dominating the space. They buried their face between her chest again, fingers pumping aggressively, thumb messaging her clit with each motion. They bit down again, this time over Akuji’s right nipple, taking in more of her warm, inviting scent.

Akuji wrapped her arms around Moiraine's back, nails digging, dragging down with each angry thrust into her. She let out a pleasured moan, arching at the end when Moiraine put their whole body into the next thrust, practically lifting Akuji up and off the bed. There was no tenderness in this, only pure aggressive desire. Both forgetting the softness of the beginning and falling deep, deep into the pure instinctual motions of it. Moiraine, consumed by an almost frenzy of hunger and desire, and Akuji allows the roughness to take over. Neither fought this, both leaning into what only came naturally.

Moiraine slipped their fingers out and took hold of Akuji’s center with their palm. They looked up at her as they bit down again, rubbing their palm up and down, gauging her reaction. Akuji arched her back, letting out a loud moan, the electricity of the moment taking her over, all muscles tightened at that moment, releasing all at once as she came, legs shaky and weak. Moiraine gave her a moment to recover before sliding themselves down the bed to get a better view.

They started at her leg, biting down, leaving a trail as they made their way down. They paused for only a moment before diving in. They slipped their tongue in, gliding it in and out a few times before focusing again on her clit. They sucked, putting a vacuum-like pressure on her, tongue dancing around, staying in spots that caused a reaction in her, stimulating her, causing more pleads to God than a nun in a church, begging for forgiveness.

Akuji wrapped her legs around Moiraine's head and shoulders locking them in. She placed both hands in their hair, holding them in place. “Fuck…” she breathed, throat caught with so many more eloquent words other than ‘fuck’, but mind so fuzzy from the last orgasm she’d forgotten how to be a lady. She felt it again, rising in her, a wave of bundling nerves threatening to shame her into becoming a God-fearing disciple. “Oh, Gods…” she couldn’t control it now. Moiraine braced themselves by grabbing hold of one leg and pulling it to the side, giving them a better angle. Her chest quickened with the breath, back slowly rising before...a thundering cloud of lightning shot through her whole body as if thor himself and touched her. She could hear herself shouting someone's name, could hear the shout of pure pleasure, could feel herself release all the tension of so many weeks of guilt and worry.

At that moment it was just Moiraine and Akuji, two beings ignoring all the stress of this world, escaping, if only for a moment, to a place where two souls met and intertwined with one another. Sex was nothing but an act of pleasure. Something Akuji knew well, never feeling a connection before. Never being seen. Except in this moment. Moiraine saw her for who she was and did it anyway. For all her flaws and irritations, Moiraine ignored all the vulnerability and dove in. They rode the wave together, two beings are thrown together by fate.

And perhaps it was fate. What else could explain this group of misfits other than fate? Never one should meet, their paths not often crossed. And yet here they are. Two souls meeting in a sea of people, finding what the other needed at the moment and giving it to them. As if it was done because it had to be done.

Akuji fell from the height of her high, the wave meeting the beach and washing up the sand, becoming a soft lul now, a small echo of what it had become. And she slept. Slept for the first time in a long time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Akuji woke up, eyes fluttering open. Moiraine had covered her in a blanket as she slept, not wanting her nakedness to embarrass her when she woke. She clutched the blanket to her, leaning on one arm and looking at Moiraine’s back as they dressed. They could sense her, but did not knowledge this.
Finally, they spoke. “This was...a good arrangement.” They didn’t look at her, buttoning up their shirt. “If you are alright with it, I think we should do it again.” their voice wavered. Unsure.
Akuji smiled a little. “Alright.”
Moiraine looked back at her now, a small smile on their face. “It’s a deal then.”
