Chapter 1: Stop this

Chapter Text

It was in the middle of the night as a rather small, young, skinny man walked through its deserted streets in Seoul. Blood running from his lip to his chin. He wiped his face with his sleeve and looked at it; it was covered in blood as not only his lip was bleeding.

The boy reached into his pockets and felt the money to make sure it was still there and to remind himself it was worth it. While he thought about the money, he saw a tall black figure coming out of the alleys. He got so scared that his money fell out of his pockets but the Korean sighed with relief; it was just a black cat. He squatted on the ground and picked up his money, which he immediately hid in his pockets. The cat meowed at the young man, but he downright ignored it. He got up, but briefly took a closer look at the cat.

The cat was about medium-sized with a slightly proportioned muscular build. The ears were rounded at the tip and the fur formed tufts there. The tail was long and bushy. Its fur was half long, it was very silky while being dense and bushy. The color of the fur was pitch black. The cat's eyes were oval-shaped and it had persian blue eyes that had a touch of azure blue around the pupil.

The young Korean shook his head, pulling his zip hoodie closer to his body as the wind picked up slightly. He went on, but the cat followed him. He stopped and looked down at it. It meowed at him again, came closer to him, and nestled lightly against his leg. The boy pushed the cat away with his leg and then just kept walking. He didn't know that the cat continued to follow him.

When the skinny South Korean was standing in front of the door, of his apartment building and was just about to get the key out of his pocket, he heard the cat again. Sighing, he turns to it. It just sat there and stared at the man. The man rolled his eyes, turned back to the door, took the key out of his pocket, put it in the door, and opened it. As soon as the door was open, the cat darted through the crack. The South Korean sighed but let the cat do its thing, went into the house, and then to the elevator. He didn't saw the cat at the moment. While waiting for the elevator, he grabbed his cell phone, which he also had in his pocket, and checked his messages. He didn't have many, but them alone made him sweat; it was a message from his boss. He pushed the message down so he could read some of the messages but didn't have to open it as he didn't want to reply at the moment.

»Where are you?!«
»Come here or you'll regret it!«

The man swallowed, put his phone away, and went into the elevator that had just arrived. The cat also darted into the elevator with the man, causing the man to groan in annoyance. "Why are you following me all the time!" He yelled at the cat, but the cat didn't react. It just sat there and didn't even look at him. But the man crouched directly opposite the cat and stared at it annoyed. This time the cat looked back at him. It showed him its teeth and closed the eyes. The man nudged the cat. "What the hell are you doing?" He asked softly, but the cat looked at him normally again and then licked her paw. The South Korean sighed again, but then got up and walked to the elevator door. It opened not much later and just like it was at the entrance to the apartment building, the cat was already in the hallway when the door from the elevator just opened. The skinny man ignored it, this time, and went out into the hall himself. He was very tired, everything hurt, but the thought of his bed made him happy. Though when he stood in front of the door, the key in his hand, he stopped. He was breathing very shallowly to be able to hear the surroundings better. Nothing he could hear. This was good for the little Korean. So, he put the key in the keyhole, turned the key a few times and the door were open. And as usual, the cat sprinted into the apartment before the Korean could even do it. He put the key back in his pocket, pushed open the door, and at first glanced around slightly.

What you saw immediately was a couch that had holes everywhere from which the springs were sticking out. The fabric was slightly yellowish, it used to be white. The lining quilted out of all the holes, too, here and there it lay on the floor. The South Korean closed the door behind him and looked back into the living room. Not only was there an old broken couch, but also a small coffee table, this one was full of beer cans, one or two empty cheap liquor bottles and full ashtrays that were so full that the ash was on the table just like cigarettes too. There was also a TV on a small stool. This was an old tube TV and only showed two channels; the sports channel and the news channel. The empty cans were even found on these. The man thought about cleaning up before lying down on his bed, but first he wanted to hide his money. So, he went further to the right into a hallway. This had a door on the left and right, both were open. He went to the room on his right; it was the bedroom, or, at least, it should be; there were only two mattresses on the floor and otherwise it didn't look much different from the living room. There were also empty beer cans lying around everywhere, but so far there was no dirt. It wasn't dusty anywhere, just a little dirty from the shoes. The man went inside, opened the window because it smelled of cigarettes, and then went to an air vent, opened it and took out a box. You could see that he already had quite a lot of money hidden in it. He took out the box and put the money in there. He looked briefly into the box and thus the money, but then put the lid back on the box and put it back. He closed the ventilation shaft and looked around his bedroom again. It made him sad. Every time he cleaned the apartment, and every time he came back, the apartment looked like this again. He got up, went into the kitchen, it was small and sparse, it had a fridge that was always leaking water, an oven, although the Korean was sure that it no longer worked because it was just black inside, and a gas stove. Still, it didn't look much better, but worse. Not only there was also empty alcohol canes lying around here and smoked cigarettes everywhere, but also that he found a crack pipe. He had never found anything like this and it surprised him. With slightly opened eyes he looked closely at the pipe. He thinks its new since it looked like it. He put it back down, he doesn't want any trouble. He took a garbage bag and threw all the crap in there. After about an hour he was finally done, completely forgetting about the cat because he didn't see it while he was cleaning.

In the bedroom he just took off his zip hoodie because it was just too cold in the small apartment. He had closed the windows after cleaning.

A few hours later, he woke up to a black creature lying down next to him. This then also started to purr, which actually made the Korean smile slightly. That night, he slept better than he had in a long time, although he was in pain all over and he was still very cold.
