Summary:

Chapter Text

I remember when we were young

Two kids could fall in love

All we wanted was to have some fun

We could never get enough

It was late afternoon and he had just arrived at his apartment. He was tired. As soon as he could, he flopped onto the sofa, it had been a tiring day at the University.

Next to him was his suitcase, which he had packed the night before. The boy took a deep breath and ran his fingers through his blond hair with a slight trepidation.

He was nervous, he would see them again after almost a month. A month away from his family, his brothers, his crazy grandfather...

A month away from him.

He had believed that this change would be good for him, and that being away would help him leave behind those absurd feelings that he shouldn't have.

In love? In love with him? Why did it have to be so difficult, so hard? Why was his heart starting to race now that she knew she would see him again? Why was he anxiously waiting for his face to be the first to appear behind that door, smiling warmly as always and welcoming him?

"I need some water," he told himself after five minutes of arriving.

He was taking the last sip when his phone ringed. He looked at the name of the caller and smiled, ready to say hello, but he couldn't do it...

"SAAAAAABOOO", he had to move away from the receiver a little so as not to hurt his ear any more.

"Hello, Lu", he answered amused at the eternal emotionality of his younger brother, Luffy. "How's everything?" He asked with a serene and calm air, as always.

"Sabo, are you coming home yet? Did you miss me? Because I miss you," said the little one nonstop, "you don't know how much. Ace's food always burns and it doesn't taste as good as yours." The blonde got nervous just hearing the freckled man's name. "Ne, what does a giraffe taste like?" The boy said, completely changing the subject. "The other day we were watching a documentary and it seems that the lions like it a lot, I wonder if one day I will be able to eat one..." He could be heard starting to drool. "Hey, Sabo, will you bring meat?

"Calm down, calm down Lu", he laughed amused. "I miss you so much too, and yes, I'll cook for you there, okay?"

"Yes! Hooray!... Ne Ace, do you want to talk to Sabo?" The younger spoke away from the earpiece, but even so he could be heard a little clearly. "Oh, no? Boo... Well Sabo, I'll let you. Ace's food is burning again shishishi", an "It's not true!" Was heard from the freckled one at the behind.

"O-Okay. See you later, Luffy."

"Oh! Yeah, wait Sabo!" Luffy yelled before the older man finished the conversation.

"What's the matter?"

"Do you want us to come get you?"

"Er... No. No need, thanks. I'll go to the house, Lu."

"Oh, okay, Sabo. Shishishi, I want to see you already!"

"Me too, Lu", Sabo smiled to himself, infecting the minor's emotion. "Goodbye."

"Bye!"

He didn't know whether to be relieved or sad that Ace hadn't wanted to talk to him on the phone. But he was sure of one thing: he still harbored feelings for that walking pot of lentils.

"What am I going to do now?" He wondered worriedly, his head bowed. "I have to control myself. I've been able to all these years, I'll be able to resist a couple of days", he said, encouraging himself, as he walked to his suitcase to check that nothing was missing.

Three children were sitting on top of a hill; two with black hair and one blond. The one who seemed to be the smallest was asleep on the legs of the other two.

"How much longer will he be asleep?" Asked with a slight tone of annoyance the raven who wore an orange shirt and had cute freckles, itching the cheek of the smaller one.

"Let him rest, remember that he's smaller than us," the blue-eyed boy who was wearing a suit and wearing a top hat with glasses tied to it replied delicately. The dark-haired boy frowned and they were both silent for a while.

"What do you think about so much?" The freckled questioned the blond, who was staring blankly at nothing.

"N-Nothing," he snapped, turning away.

"Hahaha you did think of something," he said mischievously.

"It's silly," he still didn't look at him.

"It doesn't matter, tell me," the freckled boy leaned towards the blonde.

"No, I won't tell you."

"Sabo", he called in a scolding tone. He turned around and gave up.

"Well…I was wondering…have you…ever kissed someone?"

"Kissed...?" repeated. He pursed his lips, "why do you ask that?"

"I was thinking about that," Sabo pursed his lips as well, searching for the right words. "And I hadn't, so I was wondering how it would feel. So tell me, have you ever kissed someone?"

"Ah... Yes, of course," he answered as if it was obvious. For a moment, the blonde raised his eyebrows in surprise, but he quickly recovered.

"Cheek kisses don't count, Ace," he said, crossing his arms.

"Oh no? But they're kisses," answered the freckled one, confused, tilting his head.

"I mean the other kisses," the blonde rolled his eyes.

"Which ones?"

Sabo snorted. "The kisses that are given in the mouth!", he answered desperately before the ineptitude of the dark-haired boy.

"Ah…nope. Me neither," Ace replied, shrugging his shoulders and dismissing the matter.

Silence.

The blue-eyed man kept thinking, restless. Soon, his cheeks took on a slight blush, but he shook his head trying to dismiss that idea.

"What?"

"Nothing."

"Tell me. What was it that...?" He interrupted himself. "Ah, I see," he smiled, looking amused.

"W-what?" The blonde hesitated, afraid that the other had read his mind. "What do you think I thought?"

"That you and I kiss to know what it feels like," he answered directly, as always.

"W-What are you saying, Ace!"

"Don't be like that, Sabo, it's just a kiss," he leaned into him.

"N-No what's wrong with you?!" Sabo tried to move away, but the boy grabbed his wrist.

"Didn't you want to know?" Ace raised an eyebrow.

"O-Okay, let's do it," he replied, slightly blushing.

The two children settled down and little by little they approached their faces, then their lips. That was a kiss. The blond opened his mouth slightly due to the shock of this new experience. Without knowing why, the freckled one caught Sabo's lower lip, but they immediately parted, both because they felt strange, and because the sleeping little boy began to stir on their legs. They looked at each other, their faces were red.

"Uff, what things... That's how it feels then, eh", commented the one with freckles, as if it were a talk about the weather, scratching his head.

"Eh... yes. Yes", agreed the one with the hat, without adding anything else.

The dark-haired youngest began to wake up, rubbing the eyelids of his eyes with the back of his little hands. "Is it morning already?" Yawn.

"It's just going to get dark!" They both yelled, hitting him on the head. The little boy groaned, rubbing his bumps as he stood up and looked at them defiantly.

"I'll be the first to get home!" He yelled, starting to run and turning to show them his tongue. Seconds later, he was rolling down the hill.

"Idiot, watch where you're going!" They yelled at him, reaching for him and helping him up.

"Shishishi", the little boy, already on his feet again, kept running. Night was beginning to fall, the twilight looked beautiful, and Sabo preferred to take it easy while the other two ran. Then, he brought his fingers to his lips and closed his eyes, remembering. It felt good, but...

"Oi Sabo! Are you going to just stand there?"

"I'm coming!" He answered in a shout, starting to run towards them.

"Are you okay?" The freckled boy smiled.

"Very well" his smile widened further. He kept running, he caught up with the little youngest.

"Luffy!", he yelled at him once he passed him.

"Oish, that's not okay, Sabo!" The freckled one looked at them amused and began to run faster.

"The last one helps Dadan with the dishes!"

"Oh... You too, Ace!"

"Should I help you with your suitcase, sir?" Asked a man with glasses, brown hair and mustache; with a few gray hairs visible.

"Eh?" Sabo was taken away of his thoughts, to which the man repeated the question. "Ah. No thanks. I can", he smiled and got on the train.

He looked for his seat and left his suitcase on the shelf. The man with the mustache appeared again with a pleasant appearance. He looked like the one from the Polar Express Movie - he smiled at this idea, because Luffy likes that movie a lot - .

"Your ticket, sir," the man said, smiling even with his eyes.

"Yes," he searched his pockets until he found it and pulled it out. "Here it is," he handed it to him and the older man punched a hole in it, handing it back.

"Hey Ace, why didn't you want to say hello?" asked a curious raven to his brother...
