“Good morning,” Yae kisses Ei’s ears as the archon yawns, rubbing her eyes to clear her eyesight. “You want to eat breakfast?”
“Just some rice and eggs will do.”
Yae stands up, going to the stove as she pours oil, cracks some egg, and grabs a spatula. As she moves the pan a little to eat up the eggs, she feels a tiny wrap around her waist.
“Aww, did you miss me?” The shrine maiden teases, a grin clearly visible on her lips.
Ei blushes, hiding her face into the fox’s neck, but not attempting to disrupt the mood. “I miss your warmth and smile.”
She isn’t sure how she deserves this. She harmed Yae for all those years and yet, the shrine maiden came back for the Archon, wanting to give her a sense of reality and providing her the right direction. After that, they started spending time with each other once more and went back to what their relationship once had been. She isn’t sure why Yae still loves her all the same, but Ei knows that what matters is that they have each other and they’ll never be separated again.
“Aww, I do too. Say, why don’t we have a fruitful day and have some wonderful picnic together?”
Ei smiles, thinking about the thought of traveling with Yae once more. Watching the sakura trees together and having an overloaded picnic that they’ll never finish. It’ll be nice to have those after the day of fighting endlessly against the Shogun.
“Did you prepare anything?” She asks, snuggling against Yae some more as the latter places the eggs into the plate.
“Don’t worry, I will,” says Yae as she hugs back her lover, their warmth radiating off each other and supporting through each other’s hearts and emotions. “I’ll always love you. Don’t be worried. No matter what, we’ll always be there for each other.”
Tears slip through Ei’s eyes as they give each other a loving, longing kiss. They latch their hands into each other’s faces, giving off all the love and yearning that they hide for all these years, and promising to each other that to this day, no pain will happen ever again and that what they need is some peace and lovingness.
Yes, that’s what Ei wants. A long, peaceful day to be with her lover and to have some more.
