Work Text:
Yae Miko wasn’t known for her exemplary life choices.
Which is why she was now standing in her girlfriend’s doorstep, fumbling with some damn keys that she had now spent ten minutes trying to unlock the door with, and wearing what Sara had lovingly denominated, her ‘whoriest outfit yet’.
“Saiguu is going to kill me.” Makoto groaned
Did she also mention that her girlfriend’s sister was also with her?
“If your hangover doesn’t first.”
Makoto responded with a pout, she hated when people mentioned her weakness to alcohol, despite the fact that she was the one that insisted on drinking until she was about to pass out. Very different from Ei, who could down an entire bottle with no problem and be fine the next day.
After the key fell from her hands the fifteenth, and last, time, she resorted to banging at the door until she got a response. Ei never slept, and one of the twenty pets they kept in the house was bound to wake up.
While she abused the poor door, Makoto picked up the forgotten keys and examined them, “Are you sure these are the right keys?”
“Why wouldn’t they be?”
“They say ‘my house’?” She frowned, examining the keys, which Yae finally recognized as the ones to her apartment, not for the Raiden mansion, “Is this your house?” she said, looking around for any sign of recognition. Poor thing couldn’t even tell apart her own home.
With a scoff, she checked back in her purse for the right keys, keeping an eye out for the poor girl who was about to fall into a flower bed at any moment. Hopefully, Ei wouldn’t kill her for getting her sister drunk, again.
Finally, she managed to unlock the door, Makoto cheering behind her. Yae quickly shushed her, leading her to the kitchen, so she could find a way to sober both of them up. As expected, the house was unbearably dark, and her current state wasn’t helping in getting anywhere without almost falling. Behind her, Makoto wasn’t doing any better, holding onto a wall for support. She hoped Ei was hearing all of this, because there was no way they were making it through the night without help.
They both stumbled into the kitchen, Makoto falling into one of the stools almost automatically. Just them, the kitchen lights turned on, revealing a dark figure in the entrance.
"Miko, what the hell."
"Eiii." Yae draped her arms around her girlfriend, intending to kiss her into forgiveness. In response, Ei only pushed her away gently, a clear frown on her face.
"You're drunk."
"I've been so lonely." She skurred, behind her, she heard Makoto groan.
"Gross, get a room." The other twin interrupted her totally successful attempt at seduction, earning her a glare from Yae.
"Makoto, I thought you were staying at Sasayuri's to study." Ei walked over to her sister. "Where were you two?"
"Itto promised tofu." Yae recollected the night's events. She, Makoto, and Sasayuri were studying for a literature exam when they got a text from Itto. Yae was the one who insisted on going. "And he got a new dog."
"It was sooo cute, Ei." Makoto cheered. "It was so fluffy and big, I think I could fit my entire face in its stomach, he let me name it, but I can't decide betwee-"
"Why don’t we get you to bed." Ei interrupted. She helped her up from the stool and Yae was at least sober enough to help, even if Ei could carry both of them and more without problem. "You can think of a name tomorrow."
Fortunately, Makoto didn’t complain further and let herself be dragged to bed. Ei gave a glance to let Yae know she could handle it, so she let go of Makoto's arm and stayed behind. When Ei came back, she was almost passed out in the counter.
"You know you can stay in one of the guest rooms, right?"
"I'd rather sleep somewhere else." Accompanying that with a wink, she leaned in to Ei's, who had come to stand beside her, chest.
"You said you were lonely."
"You stay cooped up in your room all day lately," Yae complained, "if I had known college would've taken such a toll on you, I would've burnt the place down."
"Becoming a bit selfish, aren't we?" Ei raised an eyebrow, "Sorry, I promise to make more time for you and the others whenever I can."
"The others?"
"You know, Makoto, Chiyo, Saiguu, Sara, Ayaka…"
"You should only make time for me." Yar pouted, "and maybe Makoto."
"What about Kunikusushi?"
"He can wait until you graduate."
They stayed like that, embracing each other, for a while. It really had been a long time since they got to talk like this. Yae only leaned further into Ei’s presence, not wanting to let her go now that she had her.
"I told you about getting Makoto drunk."
"She insisted on having a drinking competition with that Orobashi guy! Really, ever since you beat him up that one time, he doesn't leave us alone!"
"I'm telling Saiguu it was you."
This time, Yae smacked her in the arm.
"Tattle-tale."
"I hate when they fight." Ei complained, "Makoto gets all sentiment and Saiguu always ends up buying her a new dog we don't need."
"What about when we fight?" Yae asks.
"You are insufferable." Her girlfriend sighed, "I can't believe you got those twins to beat me that one time."
"They were very helpful." She beamed at the memory. After all, she trained them herself, "You get too into you head sometimes."
"Maybe so." Ei admits, "Do you want some water?"
"Yes please." Her throat was getting dry. Just when Ei left her side, a set of footsteps joined their little meeting.
"You! Don't you have a house?!" Kunikuzushi pointed a finger at her and exclaimed. He looked adorable in his pijamas, even if he was going through a rebellious "phase" for the hundredth time that year. "It's two in the morning, leave!"
"Kuni!" Ei reprimanded her brother.
"I don't care how late it is, I can fuck your sister at any hour."
"Yae!"
Really, she had to get Makoto drunk more often.
