Jin sighed as he sat down on the couch; he was exhausted. Today’s rehearsals had been brutal; Hoseok had been harsh, especially on him. Jin understood the need for perfection, but the dance was complex. He felt like no matter how hard he tried, it was never good enough for their lead dancer. Leaning back into the couch, Jin decided to try not to worry about it. He was too exhausted. Flicking on the TV, the news channel appeared first; rolling his eyes, he raised the remote, preparing to turn to another channel when an odd ‘urgent notice for Korean residents’ appeared on screen, capturing his attention.
“Today, the president of Korea had announced a ‘purge’ event for Korea. This comes after the successful experiment in America following the last five years of annual purges. The date for the first Korean purge will be March 21st; during this time, all police, fire, and medical emergency services remain unavailable or suspended for the twelve-hour purge. All crimes during this time will be legal, excluding the use of class 5 weaponry. Government officials of ranking 10 or higher are granted immunity from harm. “What the fuck?”
Jin looked behind him to see Yoongi standing nearby, eyes glued to the screen in shock.
Nervously, Jin looked down at his phone; today was March 1st.
