Chapter Text
Obanai stares at the woman in front of him.
“I have installed a scanning ability into you, use it on me as a test.” The creator says, her lips pressing into a thin line at the robot before her.
Obanai obeys, a red-orange light emitted from his eyes. He scans the creator easily, the process takes a few moments but he does scan the woman.
“Its done.” He says flatly, “Shall I relay the information back to you, Miss?”
The creator shakes her head, “No need, just delete it. I have a mission for you to keep you occupied as I work.” She walks over to her desk and pulls a file from the top drawer. The woman makes her way back to Obanai and hands the file to the bot.
Obanai takes the file, opening it with a blank expression, “Your job is to kill everything and everyone in that ring. No matter what. Leave no human survivors.” The creator's voice rings out.
Obanai nods, reading the file quickly. His gaze stops on the last sentence of the final sheet in the folder, ‘Illegal pet traders.’
That definitly settles it.
Obanai is not going to show mercy.
His eyes began to glow, “I shall not leave any human survivors.” He repeats, his voice carrying a deadly edge to it.
---
Finding where this ring of traders operated was easy for Obanai.
His scanning function had also given him the ability to see through certain materials.
Metal, brick and concrete being a few from the top of his file.
He enabled his lazer function and easily broke the doornob of the underground rings lair with practiced ease. Obanai was greeted with multiple guns pointed his way, fourty-eight to be exact.
Obanai stares blankly. These humans were going to be way to easy to take out. Especially for him, they were going to be as easy as ants to kill.
He takes a step forward. One of the gunmen goes tense and stands up, pulling out another gun.
Obanai takes another step into the room and shuts the door as if he were a guest.
He takes another step into the room.
This final step proves to be the last straw. One of the front gunmen fires a shot at Obanai.
Quite a dumbass move in Obanai's opinion. What idiot shoots at a robot?
Obanai flicks a knife at the human, the blade lodging itself in the mans head like it were a knife-holder.
A bullet hits Obanai in the chest, of course it does nothing seeing as Obanai does not bleed. His chest is also protected by a metal vest.
The robot grabs the nearest gunman by the face and crushes it like a grapefruit. He turns to the others and launches the limp corpse at two of the idiot humans near the front.
Bullets are now flying toward Obanai, who doesn't even need to use his shield function for such a boring thing.
Obanai uses his lazer function and stares at a small group of the humans, all seemingly protecting what looks to be a cage.
He slices the men in half, twisting his torso to punch one of the idiot humans through the door, hearing its body splatter on the pavement like a watermelon falling to the floor. Obanai turns his torso back around and grabs another human by the face, he crushes said humans face and throws it behind himself, sending three humans, and the corpse careening through several walls.
Obanai flicks a few knives into the heads of the other humans, slicing a few others in half as blood decorates the walls like fresh red paint.
Obanai grabs two humans by the faces and slams their heads together, causing both to explode and cover Obanai's face and chin with blood.
Obanai drops the corpses to the floor, turning to the remaining five humans, the humans were all set on shooting at him until their guns ran low on ammo. Obanai stared blankly at them. He grabs a gun from the floor and slides it over to the group, enabling his laser function once more and exploding the small weapon like it were dynamite.
The group dies instantly, setting the room ablaze as though it were a forest in midsummer.
Obanai turns his attention to the cage.
Inside seems to be a creature with two tails and a very scared expression.
Obanai crouches down, examining the cage and staring at the creature.
Its tails were sleek black. Its deep blue eyes were red and puffy from crying the hours prior. Its hair was messy and unkempt, going all the way down to the poor things waist. It wore a dirty brown shirt that was way to large for its rather small frame. Its legs wer wrapped in bandages and its arms were covers in bruises. It jumps and hides its face as Obanai approches. Whimpering fearfully.
“The creator,” Obanai starts, “said to leave no human surviors.” The creature seems to begin to cry at that, whimpering louder. “But you are not human, and for that I shall spare you. I must ask though, may I scan you?”
The creature peeks out at him, its blue eyes wobbling as more tears collect in its eyes, “P-P-P-Promise...n-not t-to hurt m-m-me..?” It—He mumbles.
Obanai nods, despite quite literally having blood dripping from his chin.
The creature rubs its eyes, hiccuping and sniffling as it slowly crawls toward Obanai, little fingers grip the bars of the cage tightly as if the weak, rusty thing will break if he lets go.
“Y-You...c-can scan m-me then....” He mumbles.
Obanai enables his scanning function, the red-orange light enveloping the small creature as Obanai scanned it.
‘Name: Giyuu T.
Age: 18
Height: 4'7"
Weight: 78 lbs.
Species: Kitsune
Additional Info: Rare. Better if not previously breeded. Send from **** to ****. Collar and chain preferred. Kill if feral.’
Obanai feels himself frown as he saves the data into his memory.
‘Kill if feral.’
Only the gods know how many poor creatures had been killed for simply protecting themselves from barbarians like the gun-bearers from the ring Obanai had killed.
The kitsune stared at him, blue eyes wide with curiousity.
Obanai shuts the light off and stares down at Giyuu, “You are a kitsune?” He asks, “I believed those creatures were myths. Much further, believed that they had more than two tails.”
Giyuu frowns at that, his pale face contorting in a pout that could hardly harm a fly, much less an air molecule. “Kitsune can have from one to ten tails! Having ten is rather special....but possible! The number of tails a kitsune has represents how much power it has! I...don't have much as you can see...I should my fourth or fifth tail by now..but I only have two...” He begins to get quiter as he continues explaining.
Perhaps to touchy of a subject?
Obanai files that away for later.
Giyuu's eyelids droop from the smoke as more fire fills the room.
Oh right.
Fire.
Not good for faunas.
Obanai picks up his cages and walks out of the room, frowning down at the nearly decapitated corpse of one of the gunme, whom he hardly remembered throwing as hard as he did.
Obanai walks to the corpse and slams his boot down onto its rib cage, the bones breaking with a sickening crunch as Obanai twists his foot side to side for good measure.
Obanai walks away from the horror scene he's created and auto-cleans his boot free of the ,rather filthy, blood.
He takes Giyuu to a vet. Makimg sure to auto-clean his body free of any blood that would incriminate him.
He pushes the door open and sets Giyuu's cage on the counter, “Heal him.” He says flatly, not caring about how the receptionist flinched at how demanding he sounded.
“R-Right away s-sir!” She yelps, picking up Giyuu's cage and scrambling away as if her life depended on it.
Obanai crosses his arms, that human should appreciate that Obanai even took time to adress her directly, he was more focused on tending to the kitsune.
Obanai paces back and forth with a blank expression.
This better not take long.
----
When Obanai sees Giyuu again the kitsune looks much better, his tails and hair are definitly more tamed. Obanai can now see the sleek black, rather fluffy looking, ears on his head.
He is dressed in a plain white shirt that is once again way to large for him. His bandages have been replaced. His face is cleared of dried blood and dirt.
He looks much cleaner.
He is also very much awake and alert.
His pupils are nearly as wide as the sun itself, nearly taking over his eyes and completely covering his irises.
Obanai picks up his cage, placing a few gold coins on the counter before walking out ofthe vets office wordlessly.
Giyuu is staring up at him, “Where are we going?” He asks, his voice shaking with worry.
Obanai looks down at him, “To my home. I shall take you out of this disgusting cage after we get there.” He tells him, slipping his fingers through the bars of the cage to pat the kitsune inside.
Giyuu hums at that, “What's your name?” He asks curiously.
“O-7651. Obanai.” Obanai answers.
“Okay then Mister Obanai! Thank you for saving me.” Giyuu smiles and wags his tails like a happy puppy.
Obanai nods curtly, “Please just call me Obanai, I am built to be a year younger than you.”
“You're seventeen?”
“Built to be.”
“But still seventeen?”
“Indeed.”
Giyuu hums again, his face scrunching up into a focused frown as he seems to process that information.
“So when were you actually built?” He asks, tilting his head as his tails sway from side to side.
“Exactly five years, seven months, ten days and fourteen hours ago.” Obanai answers, continuing the long walk to the creators laboratory.
“So chronologically speaking, you're five?” Giyuu asks, his little hands gripping the bars of the cage as his tails sway gently.
Obanai nods, “Indeed so.”
“Ohh.” Giyuu hums, “To kitsune, being five means your close to adulthood.”
“Oh?” Obanai asks, feigning interest to keep the small creature entertained.
Giyuu nods with a giggle, “Mhm! In kitsune years I'm only four and a half!”
“So chronologically I'm actually the older of us.” Obanai says thoughtfully, elicting another giggle from Giyuu.
The kitsune's tails wag in opposite directions, “Mhm mhm!” He nods, giggling again.
Obanai watches his behaviour carefully.
Noting how the Kitsune's ears perk up when his tails wag.
His eyes shimmer when he giggles.
His nose and left ear twitch in sync when he thinks or spaces out.
His second tail wags faster than the first.
His hands seem to need to be occupied or he'll fidget with one of his tails.
Obanai notes down all of this information, saving it in his memory.
Perhaps the creator would let him keep Giyuu around?
Obanai would like to think she will.
Giyuu seems quite interesting already after all.
Perhaps Giyuu has found a small amount of companionship in Obanai.
Whatever it was, Obanai would like to protect this strange little kitsune at all costs.
