The Sound Of Her Name (NoodlexFemale Reader)

Summary:

For a lonely pianist like (Y/N), a Summer camp for musicians isn’t as wonderful as it sounds. People staring, people judging, awkward encounters and gay panic? She gets enough of that back home. But when she meets the free-spirited guitarist, Noodle, the weight of strict parents and religious oppression begin to lift from her shoulders. Noodle’s determined to love (Y/N) through and through, no matter what anxiety and depression have to offer their relationship, but will this love surpass the end of Summer?

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

I've been lonely for a week or two now . . . a lot longer than that, actually. Yet I haven't been out in public or around anybody aside from my family or church for the first fourteen days of Summer. I don't have any friends and I don't remember the last genuine friendship I've experienced that wasn't an uninterested guy or someone 1000 miles away. Usually, the only people I have actual conversations with are online, all the way in North America, Australia, Mexico, wherever. But you can't blame me; it's hard making female friends when you're so awkward around them. We'll talk about that later, though.

Hello there. My name is (Y/N) (L/N) and I am a lonely fourteen-year-old; aka, probably the last person you'd find at any social event. It's not that I'm introverted or anything, even if my parents do have to force me into church sometimes. I'd love to have friends and I'd love it even more if I could go out to the mall or some kind of festival with them, but that's just not how things work with me. Especially someone like me. Every female friend I've ever had has run away from me and avoided me out of uneasiness. Then all the male friends I've ever had didn't count as friends to my family. Well . . . my male friends didn't think we had any sort of connection, either. It's hard getting by like this, nobody understands me. I know it's a cliché thing to say, but it's true. Everyone misunderstands my intentions, and it's frustrating since it's not even entirely their fault. I wish I could tell people why I'm like this and act like this, yet it's not something my community is fond of. At all. I mean . . . people are set on fire like witches in the fifteenth century because of it. You might already be guessing correctly about what I'm talking about, but I shall continue my story, anyway.

You see, my family isn't the most accepting family, even if they are very Catholic. Unfortunately, I won't be coming out to anybody I know well enough any time soon. Maybe when I'm older and already have my own apartment so they can't kick me out. But that's not for years. Whatever . . . I'll find a way. For now, I'll just isolate myself more and more so people don't find out my secret. If I don't make any more friends, people will be less suspicious. I thought it was the perfect route to go until my mother had others plans.
