Work Text:

"Hmm..."

One thing is certain when it comes to Tadashi trying clothes. It always brought smile on his lips.

Whether it was male's or not he'll gladly wear it as long as he find it comfortable. He works as a fashion designer in a clothing company not so near his home wear he put all his time to design such fancy clothes.

Colorful things never failed amused him as he remembered the different colored hair clips his mom bought him when he was a kid since his bangs was getting on his freckled face.

He still wear clips for his hair but it is not color bright as it used to; saying that he's too much not of a kid to wear such colorful hair clips.

"This is too big. Should i wear the other one?" He mumbled to himself.

Again. Tadashi has a habit when it comes to trying his clothes on— no.

He doesn't like his clothes as much as the one's he's trying on now.

Which is how he ended up here; trying on his husband's clothes. He likes his husband's more than his saying that it is more comfortable and the smell is good.

Tadashi stood in front of a mirror, checking himself out if the clothes is fitting. He just finished taking a shower and then went to his husband's closet instead of his.

"On second thought i'll wear this instead." Tadashi holds the navy green sweater on his left arm.

He changed his clothes to the navy green sweater, unaware of a pair of eyes watching him from the doorframe, smiling.

He finished changing and looked in the mirror as he almost let out a curse.

"Kei." He let out an breathy laugh.

The said male chuckled at him with his arms crossed, leaning at the doorframe. Kei was always aware of Tadashi's habits and he's okay with it, rather he's grateful.

After all, he found it adorable.

"Do you like wearing my clothes that much?" Kei teased and walks towards him.

Tadashi smiles and open his arms, "Well i love it."

Kei accepts the offer and wraps his arms around his waist. Kei nuzzles his face on Tadashi's neck, leaving small kisses on his freckles there.

Kei inhaled his scent and whispered, "You smell nice."

Tadashi giggled at him and brush his blond hair, "I just took a shower."

Even though both of them had been married for 4 years, their affection towards each other never change, just like the old days.

Sure Kei has a salty side of him but he is a big clingy motherfucker that was just for his husband to see.

Tadashi inhaled Kei's scent and smiled.

'He smells like strawberry shortcake.'

Tadashi furrowed his eyebrows and smelled him again.

'Wait— strawberry shortcake?'

He sighed and pats Kei's back, "You complained that your toothache was getting bad and yet you still eat sweets."

Kei slowly let go of him and looks at his eyes. He narrows his eyes at him and asks, "How...did you know?"

Tadashi crosses his arms in front of him and raises his eyebrows, "I have eyes everywhere."

Kei put one of his arms on his hips and the other went to scratch the back of his neck, "I can't help it. Sorry."

Tadashi just walks past him,

"No more sweets for you until we go to your dentist."

"Wai—"

"Nuh uh no sweets."

"Okay..."

"Stop sulking."

"...kiss?"

"No."

"Just one?"

Tadashi immediately gave up and turned around causing for Kei to halt. He tiptoed and pecked Kei's lips.

Kei looks like he isn't satisfied with the peck and wears a pout on his face, "Again?"

Tadashi just turned around and ignored him.

If anyone would ask 'what is Tsukishima Tadashi's favorite thing?'.

The answer would be 'his husband's pouting face'.

Kei would sometimes be unaware with the pout on his face unless Tadashi pointed it out.

Tadashi stares blankly on their kitchen, "You didn't cook?"

"We could just order." Kei says plainly and shrugs. But deep inside he knew he fucked up.

"Tsukishima Kei."

"Yes my love?"

"I hate you."

"You love me."

"Just— go order something."

"Yes my love."

"i always try your clothes on 'cause they look good,
you watched me at the door, smiling as you stood."

Both of the husbands is taking a walk in the park.

Tadashi had to dragged Kei out since he insisted that they should just stay home but Tadashi really want to go outside.

Of course in the end Kei gave up.

He couldn't say no to Tadashi's puppy eyes.

Both of them had no work since it's the weekend and just decided to spend this time together.

"—and then i almost trip but luckily one of my co-worker was there to catch me." Tadashi laughs at his own stupidity. He just finished telling the story happened one time at his workplace.

Kei listened intently at his husband, finding his voice comforting as ever. Although he did feel a bit sour to the part where someone catch Tadashi instead of him.

Now he's having thoughts about changing workplace to his husband's so that the next time he falls he would just catch him.

"Kei? Are you listening?"

Tadashi waved his hands in front of his face. The blond was just staring at him while smiling, looking at his freckled face.

Instead of answering, Kei just stole a kiss on his lips.

Too shock by the sudden action, Tadashi felt his face heated up making him look like a strawberry.

Kei just laughed at his face and he just lightly punched his shoulder causing Kei to say a "Sorry sorry" while laughing.

Tadashi let go of his hands and started to walk faster, leaving the laughing lamppost.

"My love, i'm sorry." Kei follows after him.

One thing that is common with Kei is that he doesn't care showing affection in public.

He would shamelessly flirt with him, say sweet and cheesy things, sometimes pick up lines causing Tadashi to get flustered.

Again, this are just for Tadashi and Tadashi only.

Even if shouting in public on how much Kei love Tadashi, he would do it.

Even if doing embarrassing things for Tadashi, he would do it.

Even if doing things he hate just for Tadashi, he would do it.

Just tell him to do something just for Tadashi, he would gladly do it.

Because choosing Tadashi is the best decision he had ever made,

and he would do it again.

That's how Tsukishima Kei loves his now husband, Tsukishima Tadashi.

"Let's go sit over there." Kei points out the bench nearby. He somehow managed to caught up to Tadashi after seven minutes of chasing and teasing.

He led both of them on the bench and sat.

The heat was somehow long gone and the sky was now covered in red orange and yellow hue. The sun has started to set as the clouds perfectly lined up in the sky.

Tadashi hadn't let go of Kei's hand ever since earlier, afraid of missing the warm. He scooted closer and leaned his head on his shoulder.

He starts to hum to a random song and speaks,

"Didn't you know that there's a story about the creator and how the lollipop had made?"

Kei hums, "There's a story to everything."

"Yeah but the story i had read was quite interesting." Tadashi shares as he remembered the story he had read in a novel app from a profile he randomly clicked.

"Although it only has 4 readers and one-shot story it is still worth it."

"Really? What's the story about?"

"It's about the 'A lone man watching sunset'."

Tadashi hadn't left Kei's shoulder, founding them too comfortable to leave. Kei just listened carefully on the story he was telling.

"A man who likes inventing random sweets discovered a place a little far from his home."

"He had found a beautiful flower field that faces the west, where the sun perfectly sets."

"This place somehow gave him a motivation to create different inventions of sweets."

"One day while he's on his way to his usual place. He'd spotted a girl on the flower field, watching the sunset beautifully as her long hair swayed on the wind."

Kei found himself invested in the story. Sometimes he would just space off, admiring his husband's voice instead of listening on the story detail he's telling, but this time is different.

"Days have passed and he would always spots the same girl always watching the sunset but he don't have the courage to approach her so he just watch from afar."

"One day, he went back to the flower field to watch her again but this time she didn't come."

"Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, months turned into years but she didn't came back."

"The man just gave up eventually and accepted that she won't come back with the regret he carried telling himself that should've approached her before."

"But he continued on coming to the flower field since it's his comfort place before that girl bothered him."

Tadashi chuckled.

"And then he got an idea for a new sweet in which he inspired a little in his situation."

"An invention with his story 'A lone man watching sunset'."

"Which is how the lollipop had created."

Tadashi removes his head from Kei's shoulder and smiled at him.

Kei looked dumbfounded as he stared at him.

"I didn't know that the lollipop can be so...tragic." He said nonchalantly. Tadashi laughed at his reaction.

"Right? Now i'm wondering if the inventor of lollipop was the author of that story."

"Then they're dumb for not approaching the girl."

"It's not dumb when you're in that man's situation."

Both of the husbands continued to argue on whether the man was dumb or not.

The man in the story was either scared on what was the possibility if he approached the girl or he's just too shy.

Again, what's the difference?

Either way, it is still up to the readers to think if what he did was dumb or not.

But the story itself won't change just because of the readers' judgement.

After all, once the story had been written, there's no turning back.

Even if you are the creator.

They are still arguing the plot of the story as they noticed the two kids running.

Something had fell off from one of the kids' pocket as they run.

This caught the attention of both of them as they heard a coin fell.

"Buy me soggy fries if it's heads." Tadashi bets at his husband and smirk.

Kei smirk back at him, "Bet you wash the dishes for two weeks if it's tails then."

"Tadashi gasps playfully had watches the coin, "Oh it's on."

Both of them watch the coin whether it'll land on their designated choices. But as they both watch it it only went far away.

Kei stood up and followed after it. The coin continued on rolling until it hit the crack and fell.

Kei crouched down and looked at it. His eyes widened a little before looking back at Tadashi.

Tadashi followed after Kei to see if he won or not.

Kei chuckles at him and shows the coin, "It's heads."

Tadashi smiles brightly and mocks him, "HAH! Told you! buy me soggy fries then."

Kei sighs and pats his head, "We're gonna eat dinner in no time."

He only stuck his tongue out, "That's still won't stop you from buying me one."

"Alright i'll buy you now then let's go home and cook for dinner. What do you want?" Kei took Tadashi's hand and starts to walk.

"Anything is fine." Tadashi replies with his bright smile.

Both of them continued on walking home.

Both souls are glad that the other is with them just like they had wished before.

Even if the stars won't agree with the, they'll continue on wishing to be by each other's side even if it took then days, weeks, months or years.

But now they wouldn't let any stars separate them as they are both now by each other's side.

They'll fight anyone who go against them.

Now both souls have smile on their faces as they look at each other. Wishing this would last 'til their last breathe.

They both continued walking home.

Without Tadashi knowing that Kei had flipped the coin to heads.

That's just how Kei is,

even if it's just a small thing, he's willing to sacrifice it.

Again, that's how he show his love. Even if going against a single star,

no.

All of them.

For Tadashi,

he'll do it.

"we walked together in the park, hands to hands,
as the coin in a stranger's pocket fell, we watched where it lands."

Tadashi had woken up from the emptiness beside him. He patted the space hext to him and realized that Kei was nowhere to be found.

He got up and rubbed his eyes and looked around. It was still dark outside so he doubts it'll be sunrise soon.

He looked at the time and saw that it's two in the morning but where is his husband?

He stood up and slipped on his blanket and went out their room, not without him draping along his blanket on his shoulder.

He still has some slight sleepiness so his eyes are half lidded open as he looked around for his husband.

A cold wind passed by him as goosebumps started to cover his skin. He realized that their balcony door was open so he had assumptions that Kei was there.

He went there even if the wind was too cold and looked.

He was right. Kei is sitting on their balcony chair as he sip on his cup of tea.

Kei noticed his presence and placed down his mug.

"Did i wake you up my love? Do you want to go back inside?" Kei asks as Tadashi got closer.

Instead of answering. Tadashi just sat on his lap and made himself comfortable there. He nuzzled his body close to his, finding his warmth comforting.

"Warm." Tadashi mumbles.

Kei chuckled at him and kissed his forehead.

"Do you want me to put you back in bed?" Kei asks and brushes back some the strands of his hair.

"It's no use, i'm awake now." Tadashi's sleepiness was now long gone.

Kei smiles at him and apologize, "Sorry."

They had moments like these. Staying up all night talking about random things. Sometimes they even fell asleep while cuddling on a chair, resulting for Kei to have a back ache.

Moments like these are also one of their favorite. Just relaxing and embracing each other, that is enough to make both of their day.

"Do you remember the girl that i thought will confessed to you but it's actually for me." Tadashi said, suddenly remembering that one situation back in their first year in high school.

Kei grimace at the thought, he doesn't want to remember it again, "Ah that... no."

"Oh come on! That was actually funny!"

"No it's not."

---

The first year and Karasuno's pinch server, Yamaguchi Tadashi, just finished his class along with Karasuno's number eleven, Tsukishima Kei.

"I can't believe they gave us another project after giving us one just last week." Yamaguchi complained as he yawn.

They both were on their way to their usual eating place since it's lunch break.

Yamaguchi doesn't know but today he felt his body drained ever since he woke up this morning, making his whole mood drop.

Tsukishima noticed this and placed his left hand on his back, "Are you alright?"

He asked. For some reason, Tsukishima suddenly has the urge to touch Yamaguchi ever since he saw him earlier.

Not that kind of touch you're thinking.

Yamaguchi slightly flinched at the sudden contact, he knows that Tsukishima isn't a fan of physical contacts.

"I'm fine Tsuki." He denied the fact that his shoulder was aching badly.

Maybe he slept in a wrong position.

"Really? But your shoulder looks like it's hurting." Tsukishima insisted. He might be quiet at some times but he knows when to speak his mind. Because of his observant nature he's able to analyze his surroundings.

Yamaguchi just waved him off, "It's fine. Just a little sore."

"Then do you want me to give you a ma—"

"A-ano Yamaguchi-san..."

Before Tsukishima could finish his sentence, suddenly a girl from nowhere had interrupted him.

Both of them turned around to the girl who really looked like a tomato from her blushing face. Her hands were on her back, making her look like she's hiding something and avoiding eye contact.

Yamaguchi was confused, why was she calling for him?

"Hmm? Do you need something?" He asked.

The girl can't form a sentence from stuttering too much, making both of them left dumbfounded.

Yamaguchi looked at her figure. She's have a average height and a mid length hair. Not gonna lie, she really do have looks and her red face added to it making her look adorable.

He caught a glimpse on something from her back that seemed like—

'...a love letter?'

Yamaguchi tilted his head.

Then it clicked him.

'Ah! That must be it!'

Yamaguchi scratched the back of his head and apologetically smiled, "Ah do you want me to leave you two alone?"

Tsukishima just stood there on his place. He really has an idea on what was going on but decided not to point it out.

Because he doesn't want to share what's his.

The girl looked taken aback. This was not what she had planned.

"A-ah wa-wait—"

"Then i'll leave now." He then turned his back and walked off.

Tsukishima was really not bothered by the whole thing. They both watch Yamaguchi's retreating figure.

The girl looked terrified on her place.

What could she say?

The man beside her was really terrifying.

Tsukishima looked at the girl and caught her looking. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "What?"

"This uh wait you're not— AHH!" She then ran off.

Tsukishima scrunched his nose from the shout. One thing he only wants right now,

he hopes she never come back again.

***

"How was the confession?" Yamaguchi asked as he placed his bag on his shoulder.

They just finished their classes and Yamaguchi kept pestering Tsukishima to tell him the details about earlier.

Tsukishima clicked his tongue, "I told you it's nothing."

"Yamaguchi someone's looking for you!" One of their classmate exclaimed.

Both of their heads turned to the door where the girl from earlier was standing.

Yamaguchi was confused, shouldn't she be looking for Tsukishima instead of him?

Either way, he made his way to her.

He smiled at her nervous figure, "Yes? Did you call for me?"

The girl had gained a little confidence from earlier. She nodded her head while looking down, "Uh- can we talk- like privately?"

She requested as she could see Tsukishima's head peaking behind Yamaguchi.

"I mean sure." Yamaguchi agreed. He turned to Tsukishima who doesn't liked the idea of this but doesn't show on his face.

"Could you wait for me at the gate?" Yamaguchi asked him.

Tsukishima could only nod as the other two walked away from him.

***

'Ah this sucks.'

Tsukishima has now been waiting for who knows how long at the gate.

He's fidgeting with his fingers inside his pocket but he doesn't know why.

He began to feel anxious since earlier but why?

He himself doesn't know.

A feeling of relief wash over his thoughts as he heard the voice he's been waiting for since earlier.

"Tsuki!" Yamaguchi ran up to him while smiling. From Tsukishima's vision he could see a light blue letter he was holding on his left hand.

For some reason, seeing Yamaguchi smile today was something that made Tsukishima felt a little different. He has a lot of questions and he needs some answers.

"Did you wait long?" Yamaguchi asked while slightly panting, he still wore a smile on his face.

Tsukishima only shook his head as he eyed the letter on his hand. Yamaguchi was oblivious by the stare and they started walking together.

They both walked home as Yamaguchi hummed happily.

Tsukishima could see his happy state and this made him a little happy.

'Cute.'

He didn't denied it.

Because he knew to himself that it's true.

"What's got you so pumped up?" He asked the green haired male.

Yamaguchi turned to him, still smiling and waved the letter happily, "I got a confession!"

Tsukishima raised an eyebrow at him, "It's just a piece of paper."

Yamaguchi playfully pouted at his saltiness and lightly hit his arm with the letter, "You're just jealous because you didn't got one."

"Shut up Yamaguchi."

"Hehe sorry Tsuki!"

That day was the day Yamaguchi Tadashi had gotten his first confession.

Also the day Tsukishima Kei had learn the thing called jealousy.

---

"I still have that letter in one of my cabinets i think."

"Let's burn it."

"Kei!"

The two had been talking in the balcony for about an hour.

The cold wind still lingered around as the sun had become visible from the sky.

Kei looked at his husband's figure who was sitting comfortably on his lap.

"Love?" He called out.

No answer.

"Tadashi?"

Still no answer.

He then looked at him and saw that he's fast asleep.

'Beautiful.'

He smiled at him.

He could get used to this.

Just Tadashi by his side.

He brushed off his bangs and kissed his forehead making Tadashi snuggled closer.

Another new day starts for them as he brought both of them back to bed.

☂︎☂︎☂︎

"that time where we stayed up all night,
until the new day suns brights."

☂︎☂︎☂︎

Tadashi is currently working for his new design. He had spent days and nights just thinking for the idea for their new project this year.

"You've been working since you got here Tsukishima-san you should take a break." One of his co-worker said.

Tadashi just smiles at them and wave, "It's fine, i need to finish these before i get home and i told you Tadashi is fine."

"Yeah yeah. As if your husband would allow that."

Tadashi could only smile at them.

He continued on working on what's he's doing until his phone suddenly rang. He immediately answered as he had set a different ringtone for one person only.

"Yes Kei?" He happily answers.

The man on the other line chuckles at him, "Are you still working my love?"

"Yes~" He stretches from his seat, left hand on his phone.

Kei was waiting in the bus stop since he insisted that Tadashi should be the one to use their car since Kei's workplace wasn't that far from their condominium.

"I'm on my way home should i drop off there?" He asks softly, eyeing the moving cars on the road.

"No you should go home first. This'll take a lot of time." Tadashi reassures him.

"Really? Oop- sorry." Kei 'apologizes' to the person that looks like in a rush. The person didn't even glanced at him or apologized so he did it instead.

"Hmm? Are you okay?"

"Yeah it's nothing."

"Are you at the bus stop right now?"

"Yes- oh my bus is here wa— CRASH- BEEP BEEP-"

"Kei? Kei? KEI?"

Tadashi heard a loud crash before the line went off. He immediately stood up from his seat and stared at his phone.

Oh no.

What was that?

Panic started to wash over him as he doesn't what to do.

What happened?

What was that sound?

He immediately fixed his things before slinging his bag on his shoulder. His work could wait, first he needs to check his husband if he's okay.

He ran off from his office to the elevator. He clicked the first floor instead of the parking lot.

It'll take a lot of time for his car to get out of the parking lot so he'll just call a taxi.

"Ah Tsukishima-san is everything alright?" His co-worker asks worriedly seeing his panicked state.

"Yeah no it's not- i don't know." He heard the elevator ding and he immediately got in.

The ride to first floor last for about 40 seconds that felt like an hour. The elevator door opened and he got out. He ran as fast as he could, bumping to anyone as he tell his sorry to them, nothing is important right now except for his husband.

He knows to himself.

And he trust his guts.

'Nothing had happened.'

He keep telling himself.

Nothing had happened, that's what the answer he wants.

And hopes that's the answer he gets.

He needs to go home.

Home to him.

He needs to check if Kei's alright.

After all, he won't forgive himself if anything did happened.

He called for the taxi and got in when he got one.

The taxi had drove off once Tadashi told them the address,

without noticing the traffic on the other side of the road.

***

Tadashi immediately got out of the taxi after it stopped on their flat. Of course, not without paying the taxi driver.

He ran.

Ran as fast as he could.

He needs to see him.

He needs to be okay.

This time Tadashi just used the stairs instead of the elevator, luckily their place was at the sixth floor only. That'll do.

Once he had reached their floor, he ran to their condo room and pressed his key card.

He opened the door, hoping that the tall blond would greet him with a 'Hi my love' and a kiss.

Nothing.

The room is quiet.

No signs of Kei.

Tadashi's heart was beating fast. Where's Kei? Shouldn't he be home by now?

He placed his bag on the floor and looked around their place. Maybe, just maybe, Kei is here now he just didn't noticed it.

He looked at their room.

No one.

In their balcony.

Still no one.

Kitchen?

No one.

Kei isn't here.

Tadashi was in the verge of tears, he wanted to cry but he can't.

Kei wouldn't like it.

He was out of his trains of thoughts when he heard the front door clicked.

He immediately ran towards the door, hoping to see the one he's looking for.

And he's right.

Kei stood there, looking fine as ever.

He took off his shoes and got in.

'Nothing happened.'

A sudden relief washed over his anxiety as he looked at the man in front of him. He ran into his arms and as sighed in relief.

"Hmm? Did you missed me that much?" Kei asked.

Instead of answering, Tadashi just hugged him tightly. Kei furrowed his eyebrows when he heard a quiet sob coming from him.

He touched his cheeks making him looked up to him and meet his eyes.

Tadashi is crying.

And Kei doesn't like it.

"Hey hey what's wrong?" He asked softly while cuffing his cheeks.

His eyes shine as the tears won't stop from falling. Cheeks and nose were red from crying.

"I-i thought- i thought something happened..." Tadashi sobs.

Kei hates it.

He doesn't like seeing him crying.

"Sshhh i'm okay nothing happened. Look i'm fine." He reassured him.

"Bu-but the c-call-"

"My love, i'm fine." He smiled.

Tadashi stared at him. He really do look okay, no signs of harm was written on his face.

Kei is fine.

And Tadashi is relieved.

Nothing had happened.

Everything is fine.

Kei kissed his forehead and hugged him, "I thought you would finish your work tonight?"

He teased. Tadashi pouted at him and hit his arms.

"I hate you." He buried his face on his chest.

"I love you too."

"Shut up..."

"What do you want for dinner my love?"

"Anything is fine."

That night was spend with smile and full of love.

Both soul is relieve that the other is okay. And the other is happy.

Strangely but strangely, the wind that night was too cold, even if the windows are closed.

The atmosphere was erratic.

As Kei's lies still applies.

☂︎☂︎☂︎

"all of a sudden our phone call got cut off one day,
but you came home to me saying you were okay."

☂︎☂︎☂︎

The wind started to get cold as the month of december enters.

It's almost three months since that phone call incident. And Tadashi is happy.

Dim lights covered their condo, no sound of ac can be heard.

Both of the husband was covered in blanket as they cuddled on their bed.

They just finished watching at least 3 movies this night, and boredom is the only word Kei could think the whole time since the movie genre was romance.

But the last movie was action which Kei likes since Tadashi could sense his bored state.

No worries, problems or anything bothered the both of them.

Just them, embracing each other, is enough.

"I'm cold." Tadashi snuggles closer to him.

Kei chuckles at him and pulls him closer, "Come here....there is it still cold?"

He didn't answered him, he just stayed on his place.

Kei patted his back in an attempt to put him to sleep. He started humming to any soft songs that his mind came up with.

He stared at the ceiling seemingly lost in thoughts. Silence had developed the both of them. No sounds of anything, just humming. Until Kei decided to break it.

"Do you remember... the story you told me about when we were at the park?" He asks the green haired male.

Tadashi looks up to him, "Which one?"

"The one- what do you call it? 'A lone man watching sunset'? I think." Kei tries to remember the title.

"Yeah, i remember why?"

"Nothing. I just thought that what he did was really beyond stupid."

Tadashi hits his arm, "Are we really going to argue again about this?"

"But it's true."

No matter how many times you convince him that what the man did wasn't stupid, he still thinks that it's really stupid. Nothing could change his opinion.

But he understood him.

Because he's stupid too.

"Because— he- how should i say this?"

"He... should've known the possibilities of what was about to come if he didn't make any move. He should've fully well known that there's a possibility that he might never see her again."

"He should've been aware of what was about to come. So that even if the girl really need to leave... he could've at least said goodbye."

"Which is the one thing he regrets."

"Not being able to know her name and being unable to say goodbye."

Kei finished.

And Tadashi felt cold.

Even if Kei was embracing him, he felt cold.

Why?

"My love?" Kei calls out.

Tadashi just hummed as a response.

"Can i tell you something?"

Those words scared Tadashi.

Something had happened.

And Tadashi chose to ignore it.

He doesn't want to accept the truth.

He can't.

"Should we take a walk in the park again tomorrow?" Tadashi smiles and looks up at him. His eyes met those honey one's who is already staring down at him.

"Or we could make cookies." He suggests.

Kei could only stay quiet and stare at him.

"Then let's make a gingerbread house— OH let's buy them tomorrow." He ignores Kei's stare.

"My love?"

"Them we could do-"

"Tadashi." He cuts him off.

Tadashi let's him speak as the smile never left his face. Kei could only looked at him sympathetically. He doesn't like this.

"Stop." Kei reminded him.

Tadashi was still smiling. He tilted his head, completely confused on what he meant.

"You need to let go now."

Oh.

Why?

"It's okay." Kei touched his cheeks. This time he would allow it.

"You could cry."

And then it him.

Kei's words hits Tadashi like a brick stone. He really wants to cry, he wants to shout, he wants to hit himself.

But he can't.

There's no tears coming out.

Tadashi didn't say another word. He doesn't trust his voice. He only smiled to reassure Kei that he's fine.

"I'm sorry." Kei apologizes, a single tear run down his left eye.

"I'm-i'm sorry i couldn't come home."

Tadashi cupped his cheeks and wiped the tears away. He kissed his forehead,

again, to reassure him that he's fine.

Ah,

that's right.

Kei is no longer here.

Kei didn't really came home three months ago.

The phone call had cut off because a car hit Kei when he's about to got in the bus, it caused the bus and car to collide, resulting in 6 deaths,

including Kei.

Kei was on his way to the bus stop. He had finished his work earlier than usual. He planned on going to Tadashi's work so that they could go home together so pulled out his phone to call him.

He scrolled through his contacts until he find the person he's looking for. He clicked the call button and pressed the phone on his ears. He eventually arrived at the bus stop but seems like the bus isn't coming anytime soon.

The other person had picked up as a smile made its way on his lips.

"Yes Kei?" He could hear his happy tone.

Kei was still smiling, "Are you still working my love?"

"Yes~" Tadashi answered.

"I'm on my way home should i drop off there?" He asked softly, eyeing the moving cars on the road.

"No you should go home first. This'll take a lot of time." Tadashi reassures him.

Kei was waiting patiently at the bus stop, casually tapping his foot on the floor, left hand on the pocket, right hand on the phone.

"Really? Oop- sorry."

Someone bumped into him as they didn't even spared him a single glance. He just rolled his eyes at them even if they can't see him.

"Hmm? Are you okay?"

"Yeah it's nothing."

"Are you at the bus stop right now?"

From his eyes, he could see the bus was already.

"Yes- oh my bus is here wa— CRASH- BEEP BEEP-"

Before Kei could finish his sentence, he felt a huge impact came from his right. The bus barely even stopped in front of him as the car had collided with it including him.

A huge sharp of ringing rang through his ears as he could only hear the muffled voice calling out for him.

He could feel his breath becoming lessen. His unconsciousness was barely holding onto him.

Kei laid on the floor with a pool of blood coming from his head and a broken bones on his right side. His glasses was nowhere to be seen as he could only feel nothing but numbness.

"...sir.....eyes.....don't......sir......"

"....CALL.......HUR—"

He couldn't understand a thing.

He couldn't sense anything since the blood had blocked his hearing and vision.

He doesn't care on whether he was hurt. He doesn't care about the noise right now.

One thing he only have in his mind.

He needs to go home.

Tadashi needs him.

He needs to see him.

But Kei wasn't alright.

And Tadashi wouldn't like it.

'Home... I need to go home.'

That was his last thoughts.

Then everything went to black.

---

Tadashi doesn't want to accept this.

But he has to.

Because Kei wouldn't like it.

"I'm sorry." He's blaming himself because he couldn't go home to Tadashi that time. He doesn't want to leave him but it already happened.

Like i said, once the story had been written, there's no turning back.

Even if you are the creator.

"Sshhh don't cry." He made him look up to him. As much as Kei hates seeing him cry, Tadashi too, hates it when Kei cries.

No one likes to see each other cry.

"Kei."

He looked at him.

"I'm fine."

'No you're not.'

"It's okay."

'No it's not.'

"I'm gonna be okay."

'Lies.'

"We can't do anything about it." He brings his forehead close to his.

They both promised to go against anything that would go on their way. But seems like the stars didn't agree to another souls again this time.

They both promised to fight.

They both promised to win.

However,

the stars had somehow won.

The warm wasn't there anymore. The warm he wants to feel. It's all gone now.

"Just- i just have one request."

He needs to say it. If they can't do anything about it in this world then they'll do it in another universe.

"Just one." Tadashi looked at him straight in the eye. Kei nodded his head to remind him that he's listening.

"Please— let's meet again okay?"

Kei nodded eagerly, he didn't need to be ask twice since that was his plan all along.

Even if it takes days, weeks, months even years or decades, he'll find a way to meet him.

"Alright, let's do that yeah?" He softly whispered.

"Yeah... let's do that." Tadashi smiles.

Both of them hold each other, but the warm no longer lingers.

"It's cold." Tadashi dryly laughs.

Kei smiles at him and brushes his hair, "I know."

Tadashi closed his eyes. Kei was no longer here, it's just his smell that was left behind. He wished that all of these were only a joke but no.

Reality really did hit him like a truck.

"My love?" Kei calls out to him.

He hummed as a response.

Kei smiles down at him, "I need to go now."

Tadashi doesn't want him to go, but he can't do anything about it.

"I know." He answers.

Kei brought his hands on his lips and kissed them.

"I'll see you again..."

His body started to fade away.

"...but not now."

Tadashi holds onto him tight, holding onto hope that he won't fade.

But he did.

Tadashi could feel his body disappearing as he closed his eyes.

Kei started to fade away,

until his scent was the only one that's left.

"It's our...hmmm...fif-fifth wedding anniversary."

"Happy anniversary my love."

"I celebrated here in our condo alone."

"I'm still not used to it."

"*Yawn...i'm tired, i've done a lot of work today. They're all still trying to cheer me up there hahaha it actually pretty much worked."

"I'll probably won't call back anymore..."

"...so....."

"Goodbye, my love."

"See you later."

---

"Hmm..."

One thing is certain when it comes to Tadashi trying clothes. It always brought smile on his lips.

He eyed the black t-shirt he's wearing and smiled. He just finished taking a quick shower and was on his way to bed.

Again, his habits of trying different clothes before going to bed had took over him. He at least try thirty clothes on until he find the most comfortable one. He tossed all the other clothes aside when he saw the black shirt he's now wearing.

This black shirt was Kei's favorite and Tadashi would often wear it.

It's been five years since Kei's death and how did Tadashi coped up with that?

His mental state had got worse.

He would often have a hallucination of Kei but it just suddenly stopped one day.

He would cry all night, trying to believe that these all was just a dream.

He would call Kei's number but it's disconnected so he would just voice mail him, trying to think that Kei would reply.

He would wear Kei's clothes on bed so that he could feel his warm even if he's not there,

but his clothes doesn't smell like him anymore.

He would sometimes play one of their recorded phone call, afraid that he might forget his voice.

Tadashi handled it.

He did.

Because Kei doesn't like it when Tadashi's suffering.

And Tadashi knows this. That's why he tried his best to move on.

And he barely did.

Tadashi looked himself in the mirror, his hair was tied up in a half bun since it reached his shoulder. He fixed himself up before slumping down on their bed.

'It smells nice.'

But no sign of Kei's scent.

He made himself comfortable on the bed as he pulled up the blanket up to his shoulder. The room was quiet, only the sound of ac could be heard.

Tadashi closed his eyes as sleepiness started to took over him. He tried to think of random things to go to sleep.

As content sigh escaped his lips as warm covered his whole body.

And then he went on his slumber.

---

Tadashi felt coldness started to creep up his skin. He flattered his eyes open and was welcomed by an orange sky.

He sat up and looked around.

'Flowers.....?'

The smells of millions of flowers entered his nostrils as he realized that he's in a middle of a flower field.

He stood up and looked around, noticing that he's alone. He looked up and saw the sky painted in yellow and red orange hue as the sun was setting.

Where is he?

Was this a dream?

Either way, the scenery was truly beautiful. It reminded him of someone.

Tadashi was confused, what is he doing here? was he dead?

He started walking who knows where. He just moved his feet and trust his body to take him to somewhere. He picked up one of the flowers that had fell off and it looks gorgeous as ever.

He continued on walking,

step

step

step

step

step

The sound of leaves are the only ones that could be heard on the atmosphere.

His steps halted.

He felt his whole body freeze up when he heard the voice called out to him.

His heart started to beat fast as his eyes started to water.

He knows.

He knows that voice well.

And the voice he wanted to hear for a long time.

Damn.

How long has it been?

Ah,

he missed that voice.

He looked back at the man calling for him. Wind swayed passed him as his green hair slightly covered his face.

There stood the man he's been longing for. He stood calmly, the sun perfectly sets behind him as a smile was drawn on his lips.

Tadashi felt relieved.

He almost forgot his voice.

But he called out to him again.

One word could be only describe on how he felt right now.

"My love."

He felt home.
