Chapter 1: The Grinch

Chapter Text

You're a mean one, Mr. Snow MB

The gods hate me, she thought as she looked down at the piece of paper in her hand. Secret Santa already had the potential to be disastrous in the best of circumstances, but this probably took the cake. She glanced at the paper again and groaned.

Jon Snow.

The words were taunting her as she dropped them down onto her desk.

Jon fucking Snow.

As luck would have it or misfortune really, she pulled his name out for the employee gift exchange. The company’s well-known certified grinch and now she was in charge of getting him a gift to jumpstart his holiday cheer. As if that’s a fucking possibility.

When she really thought about it, she didn’t know anything about what would interest him. And truthfully, she didn’t know where to start in terms of what to get him, which would have been the case even if she liked him. Needless to say, she couldn’t stand him.

He was hot. She’d give him that, but his sourpuss-ass attitude made him an extremely dislikable person in her opinion. She wouldn’t say she hated him, though it was teetering dangerously close to that line. She got along with just about everyone in the building to varying degrees. The only exception was Jon.

There was a knock on her door, distracting her from her current predicament. “Come in,” she called.

“What’s got your tits in a twist?” Asked Missandei, her coworker and absolute best friend. She crossed the room and planted herself in the seat in front of Dany’s desk, no doubt seeing the look of frustration etched across her face.

“Nothing.”

Missy gave her a chiding look, knowing her better than she liked at the moment. “Try that again, please.”

Daenerys should have known that she wouldn’t get anything past her. After all, they’d been friends since they met in college, it was simply fate that they ended up working together as well.

“This damn Secret Santa nonsense,” she mumbled, crumpling the wretched piece of paper, and tossing it into the trashcan at her feet as her friend looked on, amused by her dilemma.

“Are you more worried about who you got or who got you?”

Truth be told, she hadn’t given a second thought to who it was that might have drawn her name for this ordeal. She thought she was pretty much an open book on her likes and dislikes. Now that it was brought to her attention, she couldn’t help but wonder. Daenerys definitely made an effort to treat everyone with respect, although who’s to say if everyone felt that way. There was always a chance she wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, which was fine by her.

“Well, thank you so much for bringing up that concern. I hadn’t thought about it before right now,” she responded, chuckling. “I was a little preoccupied with who I have to shop for. It’ll be nearly impossible.”

“Who?” Missandei asked, curiosity, clearly piqued.

Dany rolled her eyes, “three guesses.”

She watched while Missy pondered on the possibilities. Her face contorted in confusion before she looked back at Dany, eyes wide as she pieced it together. “Tell me it’s not who I think it is… Please tell me you didn’t get the grinch!

It was no secret that a good portion of the office thought Jon was unpleasant to be around. Most of them kept their distance whenever possible when it came to him. There was one person that they knew of that regularly spoke with him and that was Samwell Tarly. The two seemed chummy enough, although she certainly couldn’t see the appeal of associating with a man like that.

“Yes,” she grumbled. “What would I even get him? A pitchfork?”

There was a very good possibility that she was being dramatic. She recognized that much, but how else was she supposed to feel, given the circumstances? She was backed into a corner. It would have been much easier had she pulled Missy’s name or literally any other person there.

“I’m sure you’ll think of something,” Missy sang. She was enjoying the situation a little too much and Dany could only knock her head against her keyboard as her friend exited the office, giggling.

❄️🎁❆❄️❆🎁❄️

The holiday season was off to a rocky start in her opinion. While she loved her job most days, the closer it got to Christmas, the busier they seemed to get with more companies looking to employ their marketing firm for the upcoming year. It was great. They were the best in King’s Landing after all, but it left her little time to do anything else and she was no closer to finding a gift for Jon.

In a moment of desperation, she tried pumping Sam for information. It had been a little awkward, to say the least. She couldn’t outright say why she was asking without raising suspicion and the ultimate goal of Secret Santa was essentially for it to be a secret. That couldn’t very well happen if more people knew who she had drawn.

Accepting defeat for the day, she promised herself she’d resume her mission upon returning to work. With just over a week left before the company holiday party, there were few opportunities for her to gain a glimpse into his cracked psyche. If it came down to it, she’d just buy him some generic thing that guys seemed to like. She made the final touches on the ad she was working on before shutting her computer down and heading out for the evening.

She’d just made it to her car when her phone rang. “Hello,” she answered.

The familiar voice echoed through the speaker, panicking. “Hey, please don’t hate me… I’m running a few minutes behind today. I’m leaving in a bit.”

Shit, she thought. Despite it being a somewhat regular occurrence, Dany had briefly forgotten about her dinner plans. “It’s fine, really. I just got in the car myself.”

“Okay. I should be there in about fifteen minutes. I’m walking out the door now.”

Daenerys didn’t have much in terms of family, so her friends were pretty much it for her, and maintaining those friendships meant a great deal to her. Once or twice a month they’d get together and have a girl’s night. Although this week it’d be just two of them, instead of the usual fluctuating group of ladies.

She pulled up to the Meereenese restaurant they talked about trying and sat in her car for a few minutes, before going in to put her name on the waitlist. It had only been about a five minute or so wait before she was seated. Shortly after, she saw the unmistakable red hair of one Sansa Stark.

The two women greeted each other and quickly ordered, chatting away about their respective days in turn. Even though they were talking about work, Dany found it to be a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of actually doing said work. They were discussing the uptick in clients this year when they were interrupted by a man’s voice, a voice she, unfortunately, knew better than she liked to.

“Hey, Sans.”

Dany looked over her shoulder and was met with the calculating grey glare of godsdamn Jon Snow. This is just cruel, she mused, rolling her eyes. Of course, he’d act as if she wasn’t sitting right there, clear as a red comet in the sky.

“Hey, what are you doing here? I thought exotic food wasn’t your thing.” Sansa replied.

“I was told once that I needed to expand my horizons,” he retorted.

While she could admit, the world was a lot smaller than anyone gave it credit for, she couldn’t help but feel uneasy at the exchange taking place in front of her. Not only was she having to spend her off time in his presence - no matter how limited - she was also forced to watch him be chummy with someone else when every other time he acted like an utter jackass. So, it’s not impossible.

She didn’t even know they knew each other, let alone how, but it was clear they had some history. After deciding their conversation most definitely didn’t concern her, she tuned most of it out, taking a special interest in her wine glass. She had a vague recollection of her friend referencing her while talking to him, but she hadn’t given it much attention. He didn’t deserve a second more of her time. She gave him enough as is and the only reason he got that was because she was being paid to do it. Jon certainly wasn’t the first coworker she’d willingly choose to interact with outside of the office.

Surprisingly, it was the sound of his northern burr directed at her that pulled her back to her surroundings. “Daenerys.”

“Night King’s spawn.”

With that, he was gone, bobbing through the tables towards the door. From her peripheral, she could see her friend eyeing her suspiciously, most likely trying to choose her next words.

“How do you know Jon?” Dany asked as nonchalantly as possible before Sansa could question their reactions to one another.

“He’s my cousin,” she replied matter-of-factly.

“Are you shitting me?” She took a sip of her wine, mulling over this revelation. “By actual blood or was it one of those things where he was sort of adopted into the family by some poor soul taking pity on him? Because I can totally see that happening.”

Sansa chuckled. “His mom is my aunt. We’re very much related by blood and I promise he’s not as grumpy as he seems.”

“Doubt that,” she mumbled.

She watched while Sans tried to stifle her laughter with her cup. Dany knew there were multiple sides to everyone, but truthfully, she couldn’t see the other side of the ass he gave everyone to kiss on a daily basis. It was like he got off on being a dick and making people’s lives harder. She assumed she’d never live to see the day herself, so she figured she’d have to take her friend at her word. After all, wasn’t there a saying about how family knows best or something?

“I’m serious. Underneath the layers of brusqueness, there really is a big ole softy. He doesn’t let him come out and play as much anymore, but it’s definitely there. Out of all my family, I can probably go to Jon first before any of them… Parents included,” Sansa divulged.

“I hear your words, but I have a really hard time believing that for myself.” She took a second to ponder how much she wanted to tell her before electing to just go with the truth. “I know he’s family, but he’s probably the most disliked person at the job. We legitimately have a nickname for him and everything.”

A look of realization crossed her friend’s face and her blue eyes twinkled. “Wait… Is he the one you always talk about? The person you’re constantly getting into arguments with?”

“Yep!” she replied, curtly.

The red-haired woman smirked while making some noncommittal noise; there was more behind the response that Dany couldn’t quite figure out. The overly curious part of her wanted to ask, but she didn’t want to play her hand, so she chose to let it go.

“I guess I could see that. He’d probably kill me for saying this, especially to you, but seeing as I love you both and I’d rather not see an awkward exchange like whatever took place a few minutes ago, ever again!” Sansa waved her hand around to emphasize her point.

Dany mused over what her friend was saying. In her opinion that interaction was par for the course with them, if not relatively tame compared to some of the conversations she and Jon had in the past.

“I’ll let you in on a few secrets about him.” The other woman continued, in something akin to a whisper, forcing them to lean into one another.

“Jon is very guarded, always has been, but it’s gotten worse over the years, so he likes to keep people at arm’s length. Don’t let that bother you because it’s not personal, it’s just who he is.” She looked a little sad and Dany could tell there was more to the story, but it wasn’t her place to ask.

“If you stand your ground, he will eventually lighten up. But the thing to know is probably what he loves most outside of his mom…” Sans smiled softly, as she traced the edge of her glass. “- And that would most likely be his dog, Ghost. Anyone looking to get on his good side would win major points if they asked about him. He could go on forever about Ghost.”

“While this has been illuminating. It doesn’t really help my current problem,” Dany mumbled.

With confusion evident on her friend’s face, Daenerys realized she hadn’t elaborated further. This peek into the shell of Mr. Snow could have potential benefits in the long run, not that she held out hope for that; but learning about little chinks in his armor did nothing to help her with her current goal. Christmas cheer my ass.

She glanced around making sure no other coworkers were lurking around. “Say nothing about it, but I pulled his name for Secret Santa, and I haven’t a single clue what to get him.”

“Oh, that’s easy! He’s a secret nerd. You know that fantasy show everyone was watching?” Dany nodded, a little startled by the enthusiasm. “He’d probably lose his shit over that sword. Get him that in some form and you’re good. And don’t worry, my lips are sealed,” Sansa replied, making an over-exaggerated motion of locking her lips and tossing the imaginary key over her shoulder.

Who knew girl’s night was just the thing to turn the tide on her gift funk? While she still thought he could roll down a rather steep hill on a hot summer’s day, at least she was able to check one thing off her to-do list. The two of them finished their meal shortly thereafter and said their goodbyes, her thoughts swirling on the possibilities now that she had some direction.

❄️🎁❆❄️❆🎁❄️

“You are a downright arrogant, despicable cumshot of a person. I know snakes that have more dignity than you do!” She spat, gripping the back of the chair in front of his desk to keep from throttling him.

It had been a few days since her dinner with Sansa and she was no closer to discovering the allegedly decent person that was supposedly buried inside that cold-hearted bastard she worked with. She had half a mind to send the gift she’d already purchased back, but Dany prided herself on being a team player and the entire office was participating in the exchange this year.

“Oh, please… Do come in Daenerys. To what do I owe the pleasure?” He replied, standing up from his desk, looking unbothered by the interruption. “Wait a second, did you just call me a kumquat?”

“Nope. That would be too kind… I called you a cumshot!”

The amusement on his face just added fuel to the fire. The dickwad was enjoying this, and she had to fight the urge to resort to violence. It shouldn’t have come as a shock, truthfully.  Of course, he would take pleasure from her anger because if the tables were turned, she would be having the time of her life, but that wasn’t the case, so she was now biting the inside of her cheek raw to keep from saying some things that would land her in Human Resources.

Dany was trying her hardest to remain calm, but his demeanor, scratch that, his entire existence was setting her nerves ablaze. She didn’t think that she had ever met anyone she detested more, and she had met some truly despicable people over the years.

“Tell me how you really feel, why don’t you?” Jon responded, snidely as he stalked past her, too close for comfort.

She couldn’t help but roll her eyes as he closed his office door behind her. It didn’t matter to her if the world heard what she had to say to him. He was a low-down dirty dog in her opinion and people should be forewarned of that before they were forced to interact with him.

Once they were blocked off from the rest of the office, she couldn’t help but feel her resolve crack just a bit. In all the time they’ve been working together, they’d never been in such close quarters alone, which she preferred. This time, however, felt different. There was tension in the room, and she wasn’t entirely convinced it was all from her anger. Something else was bouncing within those four walls and she didn’t quite care for it.

The predatory glint in his eyes as he rounded the room to lean back on his desk also troubled her. “Who knew you were thinking of me and cum in the same sentence? I don’t think that’s at all appropriate for the workplace, do you, Ms. Targaryen?”

The smirk he gave her sent an involuntary tingle down her spine. What the fuck? Not now and definitely not him. She cursed her body’s reaction and momentarily lost her reason for storming into his office in the first place.

“The only thought of cum I had in reference to you, was that you probably should have been swallowed. Now, if you could pull your sizable ego out of your ass…” She took a step closer and crossed her arms, not letting her body’s unfortunate response deter her. “I can ask you why you thought it was appropriate to make alterations to a project I was overseeing without speaking to me first!”

She intended for the last part to come out calmer than it did, but the arrogance on his face knocked out the ounce of serenity she specifically stored away for dealing with him. His grey eyes danced in amusement as he looked her over.

“Contrary to popular belief Dragon Queen, I don’t report to you. One of your little drones couldn’t tell their ass from their elbow and since you weren’t around to steer them in the obvious wrong direction, they came to someone with competence for assistance. You’re welcome by the way!”

Frustration. Irritation. Quite frankly, all ‘tations’ could probably be used to describe her right now. She wanted him roasted alive, but she was first and foremost a professional and decided to use whatever strength she could muster to rise above, even if it was just for a minute. She mentally counted down from five before she spoke. He wanted her riled up, that much she could see, and she refused to give him what he wanted.

“We all appreciate your dedication to being such a valuable team player,” she snarkily told him in the ‘nice nasty’ voice she perfected over the years for difficult customers. “Going forward, please direct my team to me or at the very least give advance notice if you’re going to be making a change to someone else’s work. That way we can all avoid unpleasantness such as this.”

She smiled tersely before turning and whipping her silver tresses as she went. She had just made her way to the door, hand on handle when she heard him mutter, “I’m having a great time.”

Dany didn’t turn around, but she could tell by how the words flowed that he had a grin on his face. She paused for a moment, that accursed tingle back, before opening the door and sauntering out. Against her better judgment, she allowed an extra sway of her hips as she went. She could feel his eyes trained on her but wouldn’t give it a thought until she was in the safety of her own office and away from his penetrative gaze.

What in the seven hells was that?

She knew what the feeling was, she’d had it before of course, but never for the curly-haired grumpy Gus across the bullpen from her. She shook her head, trying to force it out of her mind. Putting a name to it, even internally, made it real somehow and that was the last thing she needed in her life. Luckily, her phone rang at that exact moment, allowing her to focus on what was most important, work.

Her job had always been a relatively calm space, notwithstanding her archnemesis, and she genuinely enjoyed what she did. Thankfully, it never really felt much like work to begin with, for which she was grateful. It was nice to have a job she could wake up in the morning and be excited to get to. The one downside to enjoying work was the time usually went by entirely too quickly for her taste. It was as if she blinked, and it was suddenly the Friday of their insipid party.

❄️🎁❆❄️❆🎁❄️

Stay for an hour, exchange gifts, and salvage your evening, she repeated as she gave herself another once over in the mirror. Daenerys opted for a wine-colored fitted tuxedo paired with a black lace bustier and matching pumps. Her silver waves were pinned to one side, cascading over her shoulder. She may not have been overly enthusiastic about attending this party, but she could make sure she looked damn good either way.

Pleased with how it all turned out, she snatched the gift she purchased for Jon off the table, along with her keys and phone, before heading out the door. If she didn’t leave now, there was a good chance she’d flake for the chance to enjoy a glass of Dornish red and a good movie.  Missy offered her a ride, but she opted to drive herself so she could leave as soon as she felt the urge to go.

When she arrived back at the office, it was decorated appropriately for the theme, A Winter Wonderland. A Christmas tree was placed in the corner and various offices had snowflakes and snowmen sprayed on the glass walls. Doors were wrapped to look like presents, with some even donning bows. It was slightly over the top in her opinion, but if all of this didn’t put someone in the holiday mood, there wasn’t any hope for them.

Dany placed the gift bag on the table with all the other presents, grabbed a drink, and set off to find her friend. They joked about Tyrion’s extra-ness with all the decorations and chit-chatted about their days.

“So, did you ever sort the gift thing out for you know who?” Missandei asked, changing the subject.

“Yes. I had a little help with it. Although I did add a little something to it… Something to remember me by.” She replied with a giggle.

Missy side-eyed her, most likely trying to figure out her secret. “Sam finally gave you the dirt you were looking for?”

“No. It was actually Sansa if you can believe it.”

Missy looked shocked. “Sansa? Sansa Stark? Our friend? Red hair? That Sansa?!”

Dany couldn’t contain her laughter at her friend’s reaction. Honestly, it wasn’t unlike something she would have said had the shoe been on the other foot. Although an argument could be made that it was extremely similar to her own the first time she heard the news. She was still trying to wrap her head around it herself.

“Mhmm.” She mumbled, sipping her champagne. “They’re related, which was a shock to me. I was half-convinced he sprouted from one of the seven hells as some form of cruel and unusual punishment.”

Before Missy could speak, the topic of their conversation made eye contact with her and began stalking towards them, looking thoroughly irritated. She’d be lying if she said the look on his face didn’t satisfy her to some degree. If he was that put out and coming in her direction, it could only mean one thing, he found the gift with his name on it or at the very least part of it.

She’d printed a label as not to give the game away immediately by her handwriting, but once he opened it, he would have known it came from her. While she did ultimately take her friend’s advice on a present, she couldn’t help adding a big ‘fuck you’ to it as well. She did have a reputation in his eyes to uphold.

“Missandei… Daenerys.”

His tone was calmer than she’d been expecting, and she was slightly disappointed, but the tension in his stance more than made up for it. His muscles were taut underneath his form-fitting button-down shirt.

Missy’s eyes grew at the suddenness of being addressed by him. She muttered her reply and scurried away under the ridiculous pretense that someone was trying to get her attention. Coward. She couldn’t say she blamed her seeing as any interaction with Jon was liable to go south quickly even with an audience.

Dany stared at him, tapping her nail impatiently on the champagne flute in her hand. The longer he stood there not saying anything to her the more she started to get annoyed by his presence. She raised an eyebrow attempting to get some reaction out of him, but all he did was mimic her action. She finished her drink, set it on the tray of a waiter passing by, and let out a deep breath. She hated being the one to cave first, but apparently, the situation called for it.

“This has been a titillating conversation.” She mocked before turning and walking off.

Whatever twisted mind game he wanted to play, she wasn’t for it tonight. This was technically her off time and she was nowhere near drunk enough to deal with him at the moment.

She didn’t have a destination in mind when she walked off, just the sudden urge to be away from him pushing her feet forward. She hoped by all the gods, he would leave well enough alone and choose to pick a fight some other time, but no such luck. By the time she realized where she was headed, and the fact that she wasn’t alone, she was being pushed into her office.

It was troubling the distance one could cover when they’re actively trying to avoid someone. She couldn’t even see the rented strobe lights from the party through the glass that expanded from floor to ceiling, replacing a more traditional office wall.

“What the hells is your problem?” Dany scolded, jerking away from him. “Get your damn hands off of me!”

“You think you’re so fucking funny, don’t you?” Jon prodded, blocking her only exit. He was holding up a book that read, So, your coworkers think you’re an asshole?

Daenerys fought the snicker, now threatening to escape her. “I have no idea what you’re talking about Jon. Now, will you move?”

“I don’t know if anyone has ever told you, but you’re not a good liar.” She made a face. “No one else would stamp a dragon into the book, so it had to be you.”

Fair point.

“Did the thought ever occur in your pretty little head, that maybe, just maybe, the book came with the dragon stamp?” She countered. They both knew she did it, but since it seemed he was doing his best to work her nerves, she figured she’d return the favor as best she could.

Jon flashed her a sly smirk that unsettled her. “I always knew you thought I was pretty.”

“Oh gods, you really are insufferable! Of course, that’s all you heard. Anything to boost that head of yours up and you pounce on it, don’t you? I really don’t see how anybody deals with your ass on a consistent basis. Your girlfriend must have the patience of a septa because you are exhausting! Now move out of my way!”

She tried to shove past him, but he didn’t budge. It was like the man was carved out of marble, he didn’t even sway and she was half convinced he hadn’t felt it. Either way, he made no comment on her failed attempt to move him.

He placed the book on the arm of the sofa in front of the glass and leaned against her door. Dany folded her arms across her chest, and she could see in the moonlight that he was watching her intently before schooling his features into something neutral. It was quick, but it happened. She was sure of it, not that she knew what to do with that information.

“Don’t have a girlfriend,” he replied, nonchalantly.

She didn’t know why that little detail mattered to her, but she felt her heart jump at hearing that he was unattached. She forced down the implications of her reaction and replied as sarcastically as possible, “figures.”

The corner of his lips rose into a smirk, “and you have no idea how exhausting I can get.”

Oh, damn it, she thought. That tell-tale tingle was back, and it really had the worse timing because there was absolutely no way that she was the least bit attracted to this man.

❄️🎁❆❄️❆🎁❄️

Squared up in a confrontation with Jon Snow was the absolute worst time for that pesky little thing called arousal to pop in, but that’s exactly what happened, and truth be told, she didn’t know how she felt about it.

Regardless, this wasn’t the best place for her to try to work through it either, especially as he looked at her expectantly. Despite the dark, she could see him well enough between the moonlight and the overhead security lights in the bullpen. And the asswipe was smiling at her like he knew he cracked some code.

The antagonistic part of her took over, coaxing her to knock that ridiculously sexy grin off his face. Daenerys took a step forward into his personal space and said in a clear, but hushed tone, “You seem to have an overinflated opinion of yourself. I doubt if you ask anyone they’d agree with your assessment.”

For a split second, she wished that she had adequate lighting just to see his face better. Something in his demeanor changed when she said the words, but she couldn’t tell yet if that worked for or against her. Perhaps, I’ve gone too far, she thought. He aggravated the hells out of her majority of the time yet going back and forth with him was usually some of the most fun she had.

“I’m just very self-aware. I doubt you could say the same,” he rebuffed, confidently.

She sneered at his nerve, shaking her head in disbelief.  “You don’t know me.”

Over the course of this interaction, she hadn’t realized how close she’d gotten to him until she felt the breath of his scoff brush against her lips. “I know all I ne-”

Whatever it was he was going to say next was immediately stolen from him when she pressed her lips against his. She didn’t know what possessed her to do it, but the urge to shut him up was too good to pass up.

Unfortunately, this was the only option her distracted brain could come up with. There was a small part of her that was cursing herself for doing such an impulsive thing. Yet the primal part of her was cheering her on as he pulled her closer and swept his tongue against her lips, prodding for entrance.

Their kiss was nothing kind as they nipped at each other, both trying to dominate the other, letting their usual frustration with one another boil over in something other than words. Whether she was willing to admit it to herself or not, Jon could fucking kiss. It didn’t make up for his insufferable attitude, but it did add something in the pros column.

Dany pulled back, breaking their kiss about as quickly as she’d started it. The room was silent except for their heaving.

Never in a million years did she expect to be here, in her office on a Friday night, kissing the one person she could truthfully say she loathed. Yet here she was, all the same, wanting to do it again. Godsdamnit!

Apparently, he had the same idea, because before she could throw caution to the wind or run if she had any sense about herself, Jon was pulling her back to him, nudging her suit jacket down her arms as he ravished her. Her arms were in no way an erogenous zone, but every graze of his fingertips on her skin had her core throbbing. She immediately felt the heat creep up her body at the thought that this man was the one eliciting such a reaction from her.

Overwhelmed by the utter betrayal of her own body, she bit down on his bottom lip, feeling his answering growl reverberate through their joined mouths. In hindsight, had she known what that sound would do to her, she would have just left well enough alone, but it wasn’t like she could see the future, and the damage was done. She was half sure at this point he was able to smell her arousal in the air around them.

Jon slid his hand from its place on her waist down to her ass cheek and squeezed. In doing so, she was pulled closer to him and felt his erection in his suit pants. Before she could catch herself, a whimper escaped her around his lips. She removed one hand from toying with the hair at the base of his neck and glided it down his body until she reached her goal. Dany trailed a finger along his rather impressive length. It was a nice boost to her pride to know he was just as affected as she was.

A thought crossed her mind, but his hand caught her wrist before she could act on it. “Careful!”

She huffed. “Oh no! You act like your dick should come with a warning label or something. Your ego really is the size of the Bay of Dragons, isn’t it?”

Her sarcasm probably wasn’t warranted, but at this point, she was worked up to where the choices laid before her were fight or fuck. It wasn’t her proudest moment by any means, but what was a girl to do?

“A little thing like you… I figured you’d want the chance to run away before you got hurt.”

“Gods! I seriously can’t stand you. You’re hundred percent an asshole.”

Jon made a noise that sounded similar to an agreement but said nothing as his hands fumbled with the button on her pants. Stunned by his action, she remained still while he worked. She momentarily wondered what his end goal was. Granted, there were only a handful of ways it could potentially play out, and she was bound to find out sooner rather than later at this rate.

Instead of pulling her pants down as she somewhat expected, he snaked his hand inside, cupping her covered cunt. “You sure you can’t stand me?” he teased, sounding hoarse despite his obvious amusement.

“Mhmm,” she responded, not trusting her voice.

He flawlessly slid the fabric of her thong to the side and slipped a digit inside while she tried to bite back a moan. She couldn’t exactly hide anything from him at this point, but she didn’t want to give him the satisfaction yet of hearing her reaction to what he was doing.

“Well… if you can’t stand me, why are you so wet?”

Even without the added benefit of hearing her moan, he knew exactly what it was he was doing to her because her cunt chose that precise moment to clench around the fingers, he was skillfully pumping into her. You fucking traitor, she thought. It frustrated her to no end how he was quickly able to unlock secrets that were never meant for him.

Clearly, her body had its own way of responding to him, which would have irked her further if it didn’t feel so damn good. A small whimper escaped before she could catch it. “Seems to me that at least some part of you likes me.”

“Fuck you!” She replied through gritted teeth. His teasing was the last thing she needed right now, even if he sounded just as surprised as she felt.

“All in good time.”

For once Dany didn’t have a witty response ready to fire back, which was certainly a surprise to her. She didn’t know if it was because he was being the asshat he was born to be, the promise of sex, or the way he began kissing along her collar bone, pushing at the strap of her bustier as he went, that had her rendered speechless. Perhaps it was some combination of the three, but she could confidently say that it was the first time in recent memory that something like that occurred with a verbal sparring partner.

Feeling overwhelmed by everything, she chose to table her thoughts on the ‘why’ for a later time and gave in to the sensations instead. For all his faults, Jon was seemingly an expert at the art of female pleasure, especially when she took into account the limited space he was working with. She wanted to step out of her heels and push her pants down to give him better access, but the pressure building up in her lower abdomen left her rooted in place.

She gripped his wrist and ground her soaked cunt against his hand as best she could, chasing her peak, but before she could find her release, the fucker pulled his fingers from her, leaving her feeling empty and infuriated. She was about to tell him to fuck right off; however, she was stopped in her tracks when he brought them to his lips and sucked them clean of her juices. The sight alone sent a new wave of arousal rushing over her, but hearing the low hum of approval he let out as he relished in the taste of her, nearly did her in.

It was safe to say she was conflicted between her typical distaste for him and her newfound want. Being at war with herself wasn’t helping the situation, but alas there it was. Luckily, he made a move before she could give herself a headache over weighing all the pros and cons of what they were getting into in the not-so secrecy of her office. On a normal day, she’d be worried about the fact that the blinds weren’t drawn. Except on an actual normal day, she wouldn’t be in this position in the first place, let alone with him. She had to concede the way his hands were exploring the curves of her body as he walked them back towards her desk left her little room to truly ponder over the consequences.

When her ass collided with the hard wood, he pulled her by her neck into another kiss, no gentler than the first. Good, she thought. For a second, she was worried he’d start trying to handle her like she was made of glass. Them using each other to fill a basic need didn’t mean they had to suddenly start being nice.

Jon’s free hand grabbed the waistband of her pants and pushed them down along with her underwear while she assisted him with the other side. He broke the kiss and lowered himself down onto his knees while she watched him attentively. He helped her out of one of her shoes so she could remove a leg from her pants.

She was sure she looked wrecked, half-naked leaned against her desk with one shoe on and her pants bunched around an ankle, but decorum had long since left her. And by the hungered look on his face, from what she could see in the limited light, Jon didn’t seem to mind the way she looked.

He sat up on his knees and began flitting his fingers up her calves; she tensed slightly at his touch. He seemed to feel her reaction as he halted his movements and cocked his head to the side, though he remained silent. When she relaxed, he resumed his approach, traveling his hands up her thighs to caress her.

She didn’t know where the sudden bout of nerves came from, but every touch of his warm, soft hands released some of the unexpected tension. She hated and welcomed it all the same, but her mind shut off briefly when he gripped at her to spread her legs further apart.

❄️🎁❆❄️❆🎁❄️

The low groan reverberating below her was enough to pull her out of her stupor. He placed a small kiss on the inside of her thigh, and she sucked in a deep breath to steady herself. Never had she felt this nervous at the prospect of a new partner, but here she was, heart, hammering away in her chest while he took his time teasing her. She wanted to say something, but she had a feeling that was exactly what he was looking for and she didn’t want to give him that satisfaction, even now.

Jon nudged her clit with his nose just as he gave her slit an initial swipe, which caused her to yelp in surprise and blush at the reaction. While she was extremely thankful that he couldn’t see her, she was sure he could feel the heat flushing her skin under his palms as he massaged her.

“Finally putting that wicked tongue to good use,” Dany commented as she snaked her hands through his luscious curls, holding him in place. The urge to make a smart-ass comment when it came to him was too great, even while he was lapping at her like it was his one and only job.

She felt the vibrations of his laughter against her, and she made no effort to stifle her moan at the sensation. He released one of her legs and used a finger to tease her entrance before pushing it into her.

Sweet holy fuck was all she could think before she felt the familiar build rise within her.

Her orgasm hit her so hard and all she could do was cry as she threw her head back. He pulled back to look at her as he continued pumping into her. She could feel him watching her, but she couldn’t muster the energy nor care to look down at him.

After a brief moment, he dived back in, sucking on her clit with renewed energy. He added another finger and all she could do was bite her lip, not enough to draw blood, but enough to keep from screaming out.

Truthfully, she wasn’t sure if she’d even come down from her first high before she felt the waves of another coursing through her. Her cunt repeatedly clenched around him, and she was left a heaving mess. Her only course of action was to pull his hair to detach him, not that he made it easy on her.

He stood up and placed his hands on either side of her, trapping her between him and the desk, close enough that she could smell herself on him. “I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed Daenerys Targaryen speechless.”

The smug bastard really couldn’t help himself apparently. He’d just given her two of the most intense orgasms of her life, so he naturally had a reason to be smug, but it would have been just good manners to wait at least a few minutes before pointing that out. Clearly, the saying ‘raised by wolves’ was applicable for him.

Dany rolled her eyes, “Did you ever consider that maybe I was trying to refrain myself from critiquing your subpar skills.”

“Subpar?” He scoffed and leaned in, “I felt your pussy’s gorilla grip on my fingers, and don’t forget you did just gush all over my beard… You and I both know that subpar is woefully inaccurate, you’re just afraid admitting that will have you falling in love with me.”

It was her turn to scoff now. He was probably the only person she knew that could simultaneously compliment and insult her in the same breath. There was never any way in any of the seven hells that she would ever be able to fall in love with him. A few hate-fueled romps here and there? Maybe, but love? It was out of the question.

Even still, she couldn’t help the throb pulsating through her cunt at his words. An irrational part of her felt like he knew it happened, but she was determined to try to keep him in the dark if he didn’t already know.

“Falling in love with you? Really? You seriously do have a high opinion of yourself! I’ll admit, you give good head, but don’t hold your breath on that changing how I feel about you.” Dany rebutted.

She could tell by his tone that it was a joke, albeit a bad one. He had a sinful tongue on him and gave her the best orgasm of her life with just his mouth but falling in love with him on that fact alone was never going to happen.

She pulled herself up on her desk to create some distance and he stared at her until it made her feel unnerved and she was forced to look away. “Say what you will, but I bet you anything that you have a little heartbeat down there thinking about my cock filling you up,” Jon growled.

Daenerys whipped her head back to him so quickly she thought she might have tweaked something and was rewarded with the most self-satisfied grin for her troubles. She knew he was just fishing for a response from her, and she played right into his hand. She cursed herself, but now that particular cat was out of the bag so there was no use in being ashamed about it.

She wrapped a leg around his waist to pull him towards her and began impatiently undoing his buttons. The smirk on his face started to falter the closer she got to her goal, naturally, she had to fight back a smile of her own as she watched his eyes following her hands. He sucked in a breath as she slowly slid the zipper down. He’d spent a considerable time teasing her, now it was her turn.

Dany tugged at the waistband of his underwear and released it, allowing it to snap against his abdomen and he groaned in her ear. She had to admit that it was a sexy sound. She considered giving in, but there was a lesson in patience somewhere in there for the both of them.

Instead, she moved to open his shirt and was pleased to see the definition there. It was clear to anyone that looked at him that Jon worked out but seeing it and seeing it bare were two completely different things.

She licked her lips, and her curiosity got the better of her as she rubbed her hand down the hard planes of his pecs. When her fingers came in contact with the hair under his navel, leading to the erection she’d only been able to graze, her cunt clenched in anticipation.

She stuck her hand down his pants and got her first feel of his hard length. He was warm and smooth; save for a few veins, she could feel. And holy shit was he massive.! She always joked that he was cocky, but it turned out there was a whole lot of truth to the statement.

She typically prided herself on her composure, but it was nonexistent at this precise moment, and she didn’t care. Eyes wide, she felt herself getting wetter by the second. The fact that she was in the position to have his cock inside of her was not lost on her as she continued to stroke him.

“You don’t seem to have anything to say now,” she muttered, spreading the little bead of precum around his tip with her thumb. “You were talking so much shit a second ago, but now that I have you in hand, you’re silent. Why? Is it because now I know just how hard you are? How excited you are at the prospect of burying yourself in my tight, wet pussy?” she taunted, reveling in the power she felt at getting back at him.

He cleared his throat and she felt him twitch in her hand. “Oh! That’s what it is, isn’t it? You’ve been walking around here in a mood, being all grumpy and unapproachable because you wanted to fuck me.” She pulled him down by his chin with her free hand and whispered, “let’s see what you got, Jon Snow.”

It would seem that she said the magic words because there was no patience in the way he moved. He stuck his hand in his pocket and came out with a condom before shoving down his pants and underwear. Again, she wished for better light so she could see him fully, especially his cock as he worked the condom down his length.

She would take what she could get though. Jon gripped at her hips, tightly, yanking her towards him so she was laid across her desk. It wasn’t the most comfortable but feeling him slide his tip through her wetness more than made up for it.

“Don’t tease… How many times have you thought about this?” she goaded.

Unsurprisingly, he didn’t verbally take the bait, which was still telling in itself. Instead, he slid into her with the tenderness of a rabid wolf, impaling her with his thick cock. She let out a deep moan as she took all of him in one stroke and by all the gods, it felt amazing. All rational thought left her mind when he pulled almost completely out and slammed back into her with such force that her tits started slipping out of her top.

The aggression he had while he pounded into her was truly a turn-on. She felt her cunt spasm around him, the sounds and smells of their actions mixing lewdly around the room. If she thought arguing with him was rewarding, she didn’t know the meaning of the word because it paled in comparison to fucking him. She was pleased to know she’d been correct in her assessment about his skills, her thighs slick with her juices.

“Who knew you had it in you to be such a good girl? Taking all this cock so easily.” He grunted as he gave a particularly hard thrust into her, the sound of his balls slapping her ass filled the room, followed by a soft wail from her.

The only thing her brain registered as actual words were, “oh, yes! Harder!”

Thankfully, he obliged, pulling her down by her hips as he jutted his forward. She had a feeling she’d be ingrained with him for days to come by how tight he held her like he was etching his handprints into her skin. She wrapped her leg around him to draw him closer and he bottomed out in her slick heat.

“Shit, Dany!” He grunted as he pushed into her again.

She didn’t think she’d ever heard him call her by anything other than Daenerys or possibly Dragon Queen before, so to say she was momentarily stunned was putting it mildly. She tightened her grip on him and her name slipped from him again, like a whisper of a prayer as he worshipped at her body.

In all honesty, she didn’t know why she did it, but the reaction she got from him was gratifying enough until his thumb collided with her bundle of nerves. She sucked in a breath and released a pitiful whimper as he gently circled it, forgoing any direct pressure. Jon slowed his hips and gave her a few slow thrusts before he sped back up, punishing her cunt for the sole reason of belonging to her.

Needing something to hold on to, she tweaked her nipple as he pounded into her, giving her exactly what she wanted. Everyone else in her past always handled her with such care that it got boring and stale after a while, but not him. He fucked her like he, well, hated her and she couldn’t be more excited by that fact. If anything, their dislike for each other made the whole thing that much hotter. She wouldn’t ever tell him this, but he was giving her something to think about and she could be persuaded to take this particular ride again.

Jon lifted her leg over his forearm and leaned forward on the desk to hover over her. He remained inside her but stopped his movements briefly. “Play with yourself,” he instructed.

Yes, daddy!

She’d berate herself for that later, but the tone in which he spoke to her made something inside her crack for a split second. Her newfound addiction to smutty fanfiction was most likely to blame for her lapse in control of her thoughts.

She didn’t usually like being told what to do, yet she found herself growing wetter as she slid her hand down her body to tease her clit. It would most likely not help with his ego, but it was doing wonders for pushing her over the edge and that’s all that really mattered to her at the moment.

He resumed his movements; this new angle had her eyes rolling back. He was a spectacular lay, even in less-than-ideal circumstances and the frustrating part was he knew it. When she opened her eyes, she found his gaze fixed on her, eyes low, mouth open, and lips looking positively kissable.

She rolled her hips and he groaned. His pace faltered so she had a feeling he was close, and she wanted nothing more than to unravel him. Dany rolled her hips again causing him to lean over her some more, trapping her hand between them. He provided just enough pressure that she came so quickly spasming around him before she knew what hit her.

Jon followed shortly behind her, muttering, “shit,” repeatedly

She felt the desk shake from the grip he had on it, and she couldn’t help the small sense of pride that swelled up, knowing she was the cause. He stayed in place for a minute before he slid out of her, and she immediately missed the stretch of having him fill her up. She could hear him padding to the trashcan on the side of her desk, but she needed a second to come to her senses.

When she sat up, he was at the glass wall drawing the blinds. It would have probably been prudent to do that before he fucked her, but what’s done is done and there was no reason to dwell on that part now. She just hoped no one came by looking for her while she got her rocks off in the middle of a company party.

He flicked on the light as she reached into her top drawer and pulled out a pack of baby wipes. She was thankful that she had the good sense to keep some in her office, although she never expected this would be a reason to need them.

Dany offered him one, took a couple for herself, and stood up. He’d made an absolute mess of her, but if given the choice, she didn’t think she’d change a thing. Satisfied that she was relatively cleaned up, she stepped into her pants and pulled them up.

“That was reckless…” she started, trying to choose her next words carefully.

He responded before she could gather her thoughts. It was simple and gave nothing away, but she swore for a moment that she saw a flicker of a smile. “Aye.”

“…but you did good work. Now get the hells out of my office.” She leaned against the wood, she’d never be able to look at the same way, “and don’t forget your gift.”

He rolled his eyes, mumbling something she didn’t catch, as he picked up the discarded present and opened the door. Before he could step out, she called to him.

“Hey, fuckface! I’m feeling generous… Open the book past the first page.”

Jon paused for a moment before releasing the door handle and following her instruction. He looked skeptical at first, but his features changed into one of surprise when he pulled out a letter opener that was the exact replica of Longclaw from the fantasy show Sansa mentioned he enjoyed. She refused to go over the top but figured she could put a little thought into it. It was the holidays after all.

He nodded in her direction and laughed. Not one of the asshole laughs she was used to hearing, but an honest to gods laugh of appreciation and disbelief. She didn’t think he had it in him, but this was the time for miracles, or so people kept saying.

“Until next time, Dragon Queen.” He said and was out of the door before she could contradict him.

She shook her head as she moved to straighten up her office. As much fun as it was, it wouldn’t be wise to go there with him again. Even if it was some of the best sex she had in her life. She was interrupted from her dirty train of thought by a gift bag sitting in her desk chair, missed in all the commotion of her previous activities.

Curious, she opened the bag to find an adorable glittery purple, sleeping dragon statue. She had a feeling she knew who the gift came from, but she doubted she’d ever get them to confess it.

Christmas miracles indeed.
