Chapter Text
- No matter where Grimmjow finds himself, he is possessive. Whether it be back in Hueco Mundo, or in the World of the Living once the war was over and he found himself still, somehow, alive and in need of settling down somewhere.
- Grimmjow’s possessiveness only gets more visible once he gets into a relationship (don’t ask him how it happened, he has no clue) and suddenly finds himself irritated out of his mind whenever someone dares to come near his significant other.
- It’s difficult to say whether it has something to do with it feeling like undermining his position (something he worked hard for), or if he’s protective of the one good thing he’s found in his rather troublesome life.
- Grimmjow isn’t used to good things happening to him, and even less used to people genuinely caring about him despite who he is. It makes him annoyingly protective of you. He’d rather bite off his arm than have you harmed.
- It took three separate discussions for Grimmjow to stop growling at people who dared to talk to you—you’d sat him down and explained it wasn’t the best approach. Explaining that the violence in general isn’t the answer either didn’t go as well, but you’re hopeful.
- Grimmjow had never thought he’d ever commit to one person. In his mind, he always pictured himself wandering alone, with occasional hook-ups he didn’t think twice about later.
- His vision changed drastically after he met you. He’s met a lot of Ichigo’s friends, but none of them had dared to yell at him if he stepped out of line or had done something you didn’t approve of.
- Of course, Grimmjow didn’t care much.
- He certainly didn’t feel guilty about whatever earned him a scolding, but the experience stuck with him and made him keep an eye on you specifically.
- Time had passed, the war was over, and Grimmjow didn’t feel eager to let you go. So he stayed. And once you were his, and he (reluctantly) agreed to be yours, Grimmjow would rip the throat out of anyone he deemed was trying to take you away from him, or bother you, or take your time - time you could, and should, spend with Grimmjow.
- The customs of the human world were difficult to understand for a being that was still Arrancar to the core, but as far as Grimmjow was concerned, glaring at people around you didn’t get him in trouble with you (most of the time) as long as he didn’t physically harm them.
- Whenever you were walking together, Grimmjow had to make everyone know you were taken. He’d often resort to an arm slung over your shoulders or touching your back.
- Grimmjow would absolutely refuse to hold your hands in public, for reasons he didn’t want to specify. You had a feeling it had something to do with that one time he changed into his Arrancar form and you noticed his paw pads, having an absolute blast with how squishy they were.
