kiss the blood off my lips and I'll give you more

Summary:

Fushiguro Megumi should know better than to linger in Malevolent Shrine after trainings but he finds himself laying on its wooden floor and smelling incense way too often.

Work Text:

Megumi lazes around on the wooden floor of Malevolent Shrine. The domain is quiet, an unnaturally peaceful place compared to the constant white noise of Tokyo that Megumi is used to. It's only him and his breathing, the gentle waves of blood flowing outside the shrine and occasionally Sukuna's heavy steps. The air smells of incense, deep and musky, comforting in a way – a very twisted one if Megumi were to be honest. He has one of his arm tucked under his head, the other laying beside him without movement and Sukuna is to blame.

They had a short sparing after today's training and Sukuna got carried away. Nue came at him, claws and electricity ready to strike, while Megumi run into Sukuna from behind, trying to pin him down with a sword. The plan was brilliant but Megumi forgot that inside the domain Sukuna was aware of every move he made, even when he didn't see the sorcerer. The curse dodged and then took a hold of his right arm, twisting it behind his back. The bones didn't break but Sukuna only let him go, when Megumi let out a pained cry. It still aches.

Sukuna's footsteps become louder and soon there is a piled blanket forcefully thrown onto Megumi's body. No words uttered or any other indication that Sukuna actually just wanted him to be warm. The curse then sits beside him, watching as Megumi straightens the material and gets cozy under it.

"A true gentleman," Megumi remarks and sees Sukuna scoff beside him. The curse has one leg bend towards his chest, his arm resting on it, while he watches Megumi with a displeased look in the four of his eyes.

"I'm gonna take it away, if you keep acting ungrateful," Sukuna's scowl only grows deeper, when Megumi looks at him unfazed. "Fucking sorcerer."

In the last weeks Sukuna called Megumi into his domain, the boy grew accustomed to the curse's antiques, even realizing an angry Sukuna was a funny Sukuna. Anger was one of his default modes, to let out his emotions and destroy whatever was in his was. He could kill anyone, anyone but Megumi and upon realizing that the boy started to take advantage from the knowledge. He'd rile Sukuna up, make bratty remarks, just generally be himself and the curse wouldn't hurt him, he'd just sit with his lips pulled into a thin line and eyes turned into small slits.

"You wish."

At that Sukuna tears his gaze away from Megumi and tries to hide his blushing cheeks by laying down next to the sorcerer. That's another thing about Sukuna, his body's responses to Megumi, their proximity or some of his remarks. The King of Curses is a fearless fighter, stoic teacher and heartless murderer but each time they step on uneven ground, giving into this strange magnetization between them, Sukuna is unable to hide the way it affects him.

Megumi thinks it's cute.

"I wish for you to shut the fuck up."

"You almost broke my arm, I believe you can handle my mood," To highlight his statement, Megumi holds his arm out and winces upon using it. Something is wrong with it, he doesn't know what, but pain surges through him right from his shoulder. He will have to see Shoko tomorrow and come up with a credible lie about what happened.

Sukuna reaches out and grabs him by the wrist, his touch not so gentle but way more cautious in contrast to his mood and the way he fought Megumi before. He places his other hand on Megumi's shoulder and lets his cursed energy slip into the sorcerers body. Megumi feels tingling on his skin, he's ready for the pain to resurface but by the time Sukuna lets his arm go, the limb doesn't ache anymore.

"For a second I though you were going to rip my arm out," Megumi moves his fingers, then his whole arm, seeing the effects of healing. "Thank you."

"You're body is weaker than mine. I tend to forget," Sukuna turns to his side, head propped on his arm and four eyes focused on Megumi. "You're making progress in training, you're a quick learner."

"Well, my sensei is quite patient with me, until he tries to break my arm."

This time Sukuna's scowls is replaced with a smirk, his fangs showing. His kimono slightly unties and gives way to massive chest muscles and black marks. Megumi wonders, whether he could make Sukuna blush more than usual from joking about his tits.

"You're so spiteful," Sukuna remarks but with humour in his voice.

Megumi goes back to looking at the ceiling and listening to the quiet flow of blood outside and his own breathing. It is not necessary for Sukuna to breath, he usually doesn't do it, so there is no sound coming from him.

"Stop staring at me."

Megumi doesn't look at him but he can imagine Sukuna slightly shaking his head. They've had this conversation before.

"I can't," He chuckles, another thing Megumi got accustomed to, and then sighs heavily. "Stop being so beautiful."

"You're so desperate after being sealed for too long."

"You know, it has nothing to do with sealing, I could have anyone I want. For example, that father of yours is quite hot–" Megumi wines and hardly stops himself from gaging. This is not what he wanted to know. "But it's you I find interesting. No one else."

Sukuna reaches out, placing his hand on Megumi's chin and not so gently turning his head towards himself. Long black nails graze the sorcerer's cheeks, slightly pushing into his skin but not breaking it, just leaving faint marks. Megumi feels himself shiver under Sukuna's gaze.

He wants to admit that he knows Sukuna is just plotting, that he finds some use in Megumi's power. The curse is bound to know more about Ten Shadows than Megumi does. He should keep their meeting professional, train and leave without a care in the world. However, it's been getting more difficult lately to fight the pull between him and the curse. There is no purpose in staying in the shrine after trainings but Megumi is just so curious, so enthralled by Sukuna's behaviour he can't help himself.

They're both weak.

"Why? What is it about me that is interesting to someone like you?" Megumi asks, voice lax and eyes slowly blinking. The tiredness is getting to him, be it the training or the healing, he doesn't know.

"You're not scared of me."

Megumi used to be – it's Sukuna after all – but lately he's been seeing a different side of him, calmer and less vicious. Sukuna is moody but also extremely strict, when he has to, and Megumi finds some charm in it.

"You haven't tried to kill me, not even once," Megumi puts his hand on the one Sukuna holds his face with and latches his fingers to the curse's. Nails dig deeper into his cheeks. "Are you getting soft, old man?"

"Huh?" Sukuna's eyes are wide open, lips slightly parted before they twist into a devilish smirk. "Oh, you're going to regret it, shadow boy."

Megumi readies himself for another round of bratty remarks and some pushing and shoving on the floor of Malevolent Shrine. Sukuna sighs heavily, trying to gather his anger, and Megumi chuckles every time the curse fumes. What a sight – a thousand years old curse riled up by a high schooler. Truly magnificent.

"Whatever you say, old man."

The next morning Megumi doesn't even reach the kitchen, when he knows his day is going to be one huge headache.

"You say one more word and I'm buying you a pacifier."

"Stupid brat, you realize I can manifest a mouth on any part of your body?"

He enters the kitchen to see Itadori sitting by the table, his hands holding both sides of his face. There are dark bags under his eyes, an additional red eye and mouth with sharp teeth on his left cheek. It seems that he hasn't had the best of night. Kugisaki and Maki are making coffee, talking in hushed voices but clearly amused but the whole ordeal.

"Fushiguro," Itadori whines, when he sees the black haired boy enter the room. "Help me, please."

Megumi cautiously sits beside his friend, watching Sukuna's single eye. He hopes the curse doesn't plan on ratting them out – an execution isn't in his plans for the morning.

"What's all of this about?" Megumi says out loud, though he hopes Sukuna understands it's mostly directed at him.

"He's been at it the whole night, just talking all the time and I can't get him to shut up," As if to confirm Itadori's words, Sukuna bites his finger to which Itadori loudly winces. "See what I'm talking about?"

"I wasn't talking, I just bit you, that's a different thing."

Itadori shoves his face onto the surface of the table, his head banging loudly over the wood. Megumi hopes he didn't break his nose but just in case he already prepares himself for a trip to Shoko.

"Did he say, what all of this is about?" Megumi, as always, tries to be the voice of reason. He doesn't address Sukuna, too worried any of the students might realize the way he talks to the King of Curses is way too familiar. He's especially weary of Maki and her observant nature.

"He probably just wants me dead," Itadori says, face still planted on the table.

"Of course, I do," Megumi watches Sukuna's eye and mouth manifest on the side of Itadori's neck, which is more visible in this position. "You don't know just how angry an old man can get from being stuck in a stupid brat's body."

Oh, Megumi knows what this is about. Revenge.

"I guess, he must be bored after such a long time," Kugisaki butts in and hands Megumi a cup of coffee.

"You wouldn't know, pretty lady."

Megumi sees Maki and Kugisaki eyeing each other, their reaction cautious and wary of Sukuna. They sense plot, danger, disaster and Megumi wonders, when did he get so used to the curse that he's not bother by his presence anymore. No matter the circumstances and the risk, Megumi finds Sukuna's voice quite enjoyable as the first thing in the morning, though, ever admitting to it out loud would cost him his life.

Itadori straightens back up, his nose thankfully intact, no blood smearing over his face, and goes back to his quarrel with Sukuna. The girls still stand by the counter but Megumi can see Maki reaching for one of her cursed weapons, a small dagger, holding it securely. They worry Itadori might not withstand Sukuna.

Megumi has to think quickly.

He knows how to pacify him, when they're alone. It's usually a matter of soft touches and few sweet words. Sukuna may be acting out of boredom but his strange infatuation with Megumi seems to be real. He takes the boy to his domain most days of the week, usually in the late evenings so that no one would notice. The chance to train Megumi surely serves as a kind of distraction from his eternal boredom. The only time, when they don't meet is when Gojo is around. Then they have to take breaks because there is no way even Sukuna would be able to hide from Six Eyes.

Gojo.

Megumi shakes Itadori lightly by the shoulder and passes him his cup of coffee.

"Stay alert," he says more of an act to pretend that Sukuna's presence also makes him feel uncomfortable. He then turns to the girls. "I need to make a call but maybe it'd be better, if I don't leave the room." They both agree, so Megumi goes to stand by the entrance that leads to the corridor and leans over it. To make his lie more credible, he even calls Kuro to round Itadori and watch Sukuna.

He can feel the red eye following his moves.

"Hey Gojo," Megumi says into the phone. "Are you coming back home today?"

Megumi hears shuffling from behind him and he turns to see Itadori franticly slapping his own cheek and telling Sukuna to shut up.

"Oooh, is my boy already missing me?" Comes Gojo's over–sugared voices and Megumi sighs. Why is he stuck with such overdramatic people?

"Not really but I decided to rethink your offer to help me train with my domain," Sukuna seems to halt. Itadori look exhausted and cautiously sips his coffee. Sukuna's red eye doesn't leave Megumi's face. "I'm not making any progress," Lie. "The aftermath of training still leaves me dizzy," Lie. "And you're the only one here, who could help me." Another lie.

Megumi is surprised just how easy it has become for him to lie lately, even to Gojo.

"Sukuna, stop already," Itadori whines again. Megumi averts his eyes, bringing his whole focus to the phone call.

"We should start as soon as you're back," he continues. "Maybe I could even join you on your next mission." The more time he spends with Gojo, the less opportunity Sukuna would have to catch him into his domain.

"What a surprising Wednesday morning, Megumi wants to train with me," Gojo laughs lightly. "I haven't heard you this motivated since you were eleven or twelve. Very well, I'll be back in a few hours."

"See you in a few hours then," he repeats just to make sure that Sukuna hears him well.

The phone call ends and Megumi slowly puts the device away. He listens for bickering, Itadori's exhausted voice and Sukuna's harsh remarks. None comes.

"Oi, Fushiguro," Itadori catches his attention. "I think Sukuna doesn't like black coffee. As soon as I started drinking it, he just withdrawn almost immediately," Itadori smiles widely through the tiredness, the ever naive boy, his smile back to being wide and radiant, and declares he's going to finally catch some sleep. Maki hides her dagger and lets herself be dragged by Kugisaki, who wants to take her shopping. Megumi feels relief slowly washing over him.

Serves you right.

True to his words, Megumi spends the next two weeks training with Gojo. His teacher is back from a mission and so Megumi tries to make the most of the time Gojo is at Jujutsu High. The higher-ups have been quite relentless in sending him all around the world to do the dirty work – oh, sorry, serving his duty as the strongest. It's not rocket science to realize that their aim is just to put distance between Gojo and Itadori, so that they could execute Yuuji, if Sukuna lashes out.

Megumi has always detested the way of the politics in jujutsu world. For now he's just glad that Gojo is back. With the presence of Six Eyes, Sukuna doesn't try to catch him into his domain, nor does he manifest on Itadori's body. He's so silent, Megumi almost forgets he's there. Almost.

Gojo trains him everyday, mostly focusing on Chimera Shadow Garden but they also spare and use cursed tools. At first, Megumi pretends to not know, how to control his domain and intentionally eats too small breakfasts to get dizzy throughout their workouts. His lie needs to be perfect. But it soon turns out that when you make progress, there isn't really any way back, so he's development becomes quite evident on the beginning of second week. Gojo doesn't say anything, doesn't point out how Megumi's domain is stable and his body doesn't falter after using it. Just sometimes he asks Megumi to call Rabbit Escape to play with the white, fluffy shikigamis.

It's only at the end of the second week that Megumi feels his world shake under his feet.

"Megumi, come sit with me," Gojo says leading Megumi to a small playground they were passing by. Gojo took him on a mission to fight a first rank curse and technically Megumi defeated it on his own, Gojo just made sure the kid didn't get hurt. Talk about hiding his progress in training. "I know, you're lying to me," Megumi is thankful they already sat on the swings, because otherwise his knees might have given in. "And I'm not angry, I just need to know, are you in trouble?"

Megumi's eyes get as big as saucers, blood draining from his face, leaving him pale and unmoving. Hardly breathing. Gojo knows.

"Depends on how you define trouble."

"Are you in danger?" His voice isn't forceful, nor overdramatic, he kind of sounds dejected and Megumi feels guilt twisting his stomach.

"Everything is fine, really," He holds the chains of the swings, feeling his palms sweat. He realizes he should have denied, when Gojo accused him of lying.

Gojo pulls his blindfold down to his neck and rubs at his eyes. If they were in any other circumstances, Megumi would laugh at the way Gojo has to comically bend his legs to fit on the swing but humour doesn't come to him now. He feels only dread eating him from the inside.

"You never lied to me, not even when you went through that horrible rebellion faze in middle school, not when you set Shiro to bite a kid in fifth grade or when you broke my glasses and hid in Shoko's infirmary for a week," Gojo turns towards him, the piercing gaze of Six Eyes making him shiver. "You've had your domain mastered before we started training, I could see it the first day. You were just putting an act."

The inevitable is about to happen sooner than Megumi expected.

"Why, Megumi?" In the depth of Gojo's eyes, Megumi sees worry and fear, only then realizing his true mistake. He's seen that look on his teacher, his guardian, his father, only few times but Megumi will never forget them. This look of betrayal in the blue of Gojo's eyes will come to haunt him one day. "I know I'm shit at raising you but I'm just worried, you know that I can't keep losing–"

Megumi is barely 15, when he finds Gojo Satoru drunk, sitting under an ice cold shower, clothes on, soaking wet and shivering. Just the bandage he uses as a blindfold, lays discarded by the toilet. It's been a week since the attack of a curse user, who tried to catch Okkotsu. He spends over an hour getting Gojo out of the bathroom, changing him into dry clothes and then watching as the man curls up on himself and hides in his bed.

Megumi is 12, when Gojo Satoru comes back home with a blank stare and a nasty reddish–purple  bruise on the side of his neck. Megumi makes him yuzu tea, extra sweet, and lets Kuro out to curl around the man that sits on his futon, barely speaking. It's a hickey, Megumi knows. He wants to comfort Gojo, to wipe that awful sour look from his face but Megumi can't find it in himself to get closer to the man. He reeks of curses so much, Megumi's stomach does little flips throughout the whole night.

Megumi is 8, when he accidentally comes across a box filled with pictures, while he's sitting in a wardrobe, hiding from Tsumiki. He finds pictures of Gojo, not really different form himself, just few years younger and in a school uniform, Shoko with shorter hair and a man with long black hair. Upon finding a picture, where the black haired man kisses Gojo on the cheek, Megumi goes to him, his game with Tsumiki forgotten.

"Why don't you ever smile like that?"

Megumi is 8 and it's the only time he's ever seen Gojo Satoru almost tear up.

"It's not direct danger," he interrupts Gojo, the guilt inside him twisting and turning. "Just no one can know and everything will be fine."

Gojo shakes his head and drops his gaze to the ground.

"Damn it, I want to be angry with you but I was– I am as stubborn as you are, so I can't complain," he sighs heavily. "I care about you, kid."

Fushiguro Megumi is a stoic man. He faces the world with his ever-present calm face, emotions subsided and hidden well inside. His feelings have a subtle way of making appearance on his face, it's always small signs and gestures, nothing big or loud. He hardly ever loses his composure.

"I trained," He stands up and steps next to the swing Gojo is sitting on. "I trained in a way I shouldn't have and the jujutsu world is going to have my head for it but the damage is already done," He stays silent for a moment, his breathing heavy, almost erratic. "It's not your fault, I did this to myself. Will you tell the higher-ups?"

"What?! No," Gojo looks back at Megumi from the swing and sends him a soft, wary smile. "They're a bunch of conservative assholes."

He then stands up and pulls Megumi into a side hug, his head bend down to level their eyes. Lately Gojo has been extremely cautious about deactivating Infinity, so Megumi uses the opportunity and lets himself be hugged. He'd never admit it out loud but it's in Gojo's embrace that he ever feels truly safe.

"It's not your fault," Megumi repeats, thinking about the way Gojo looked at him just minutes before. He can't push Gojo away. With Tsumiki in a come, not knowing when or if will she ever wake up, Gojo is the last member of his make-shift family.

"You were supposed to be the reasonable one out of the two of us."

They slowly start walking back to Jujutsu High, Gojo's arm still securely wrapped around Megumi's shoulder. He'll have to shake him off before they reach the school. If Itadori or Kugisaki saw them like that, they wouldn't leave Megumi alone for ages.

"It's Sukuna," Megumi says because he can't stand the feeling of guilt eating him raw from the inside.

"I know."

"What do you mean you know?!" The boy tries to free himself but Gojo still holds him close. He's confused to say the least. If Gojo knew, then what was this talk about? "Since when?"

"He thinks he's good at masking his cursed energy but there isn't much that can hide from Six Eyes, whether I want it or not," Gojo tries to ruffle Megumi's hair but the boy uses the opportunity to slip from his embrace and walks a step in front of his guardian. "I knew since that movie night."

'Whatever you're gonna do, I'll support you' Gojo told him the morning after Sukuna took over Itadori's body just to play with Megumi's hair.

"Then what was all of this about?"

Gojo stops in the middle of the sidewalk. They are alone, it's deep into the night, even the streets are quiet in this part of the city. Blue eyes shine at Megumi in the dark, the ocean of feelings neither of them ever says out loud.

"I just want you to trust me like you always did."

The next time Sukuna takes over Itadori's body, it's a mess.

Both the first– and second year students were assigned a mission to get rid of a first class curse that hid in a warehouse on the suburbs of the town. As the intel said, there was supposed to be a  lair of lower class curses there too – Yaga saw an opportunity for all of them to cooperate and train their teamwork skills.

Their task goes well. At first, they work as a set group, just everyone fighting as many curses as they can. When they make an opening Megumi and Panda go for the first class curse, while the rest of the students splits up the fight the rest of the curses. They're trying new formations and leave Inumaki out of fighting the strongest curse, so that he doesn't strain his voice. Working as a group has its perks.

Itadori is quite quick in exorcising the curses and he tries to join Megumi and Panda in the fight. He lays two blows and prepares to use Black Flash, when the curse suddenly puts all its focus on him and sends him flying to the back of the warehouse and through the wall. He doesn't come back to them in the next few minutes, so Kugisaki goes to look for him. Meanwhile, Panda is attacked by a second class curse that appeared out of nowhere, Maki and Inumaki are getting rid of the last curses that tried to follow Itadori. They probably sensed a weakened body.

Megumi decides to stop toying with the curse, it's already the end of their fight, so he focuses his cursed energy and calls Chimera Shadow Garden. Shadows flood from under his feet, reaching the curse in no time and catching his opponent in a vice grip. The curse tries to free itself, lashing out and flinging its slimy tentacles around, but it is futile against a domain. Nue flies from above and strikes with electricity, finishing the fight quickly.

When the domain vanishes, Megumi is able to stand his ground but sweat still trickles down his back. That's just the way using domain expansion effects his body. For now, he's thankful using it didn't bring him to his knees.

Just then he realizes the other students aren't around him and there is a sound of fighting coming from where Itadori should be. There was supposed to be only one first class curse in here. He slowly makes his way towards the fight, he's tired and he knows he'd be barely able to call for any of his shikigamis right now, but he can't find it in himself to stop.

Before he reaches the rest of the students, he sees Kugisaki's body flying limply towards him. He catches her and sets her to the ground, where she grabs at his shoulder and shakes him.

"Run, Fushiguro. Get help."

Megumi then looks up towards the fight, where the second years are being tossed around like flimsy dolls. Earth shakes beneath them, the old walls of the warehouse almost giving in to the vibration.

Sukuna's laugh rings in Megumi's ears.

Kugisaki begs him to escape, to at least make a call to tell Gojo or Nanami or Yaga that they're in danger. Megumi takes her away from the warehouse, which is about to collapse and calls Kuro to guard her. The moment he uses his shikigami his vision sways and Megumi needs to take three deep breaths to keep himself upright.

To some extent Megumi is sure he could talk Sukuna down, to calm him just with his words and the curse wouldn't put up much of a fight. He's not sure where the certainty comes from but it's there. But talking to Sukuna would mean revealing his secret to everyone around him. The students are his friends but they also are jujutsu sorcerers, so there is no say that they wouldn't rat him out to the principal or the higher-ups.

He sees Sukuna standing in front of another building, hands in the pocket of his jacket, as if the sorcerers around him were mere flies. He dodges all of their attacks and then strikes pushing all of them away with just a swing of his leg. Megumi can't take him in a fight, he probably wouldn't be able to take a blow without losing consciousness but there is one thing he can do. He can at least try and hope to catch Sukuna off guard.

If he fails, then at least his secrets die with him.

There is barely any strength left in his body but Megumi masters up all that is there and runs. He runs, his thighs burn and he dodges Maki laying on the ground and jumps over split ground. He runs and runs and hears Panda shout after him, to stop, to turn back – it's a suicide – but Megumi doesn't look back or falter. He runs and runs and with the last push of his legs grabs onto Sukuna's, actually Itadori's, jacket and pulls him. The impet pushes Sukuna off balance, though only so that he has to take one step back.

It's enough. His left leg stands in the shadow and Megumi uses that opportunity to pull both of them into the darkness.

"Hold on to me, I've never pulled anyone with me to the shadows."

Sukuna's deep laugh, crazy and maniacal rings through the void that they're in. There is nothing around them, just shadows and darkness, no sounds except for Megumi's heavy breathing and Sukuna's laugh.

"You truly are something else, Fushiguro Megumi," Sukuna rests his hands on Megumi's waist, his grip tight, almost bruising. "As lovely as you are, you're taking away my fun."

Megumi supposes that after being sealed for a thousand of years and then living in a vessel that cages your free will, Sukuna has all the reason to cause havoc the moment he gains the upper hand over Itadori's body. It doesn't make it right in any sense though.

"Don't make me leave you in here," Megumi states and feels sweat dripping down his temple. His body has reached its limit. If Sukuna doesn't listen to him, they're doomed.

"Fierce as always," Sukuna's fingers dig into Megumi's sides, nails breaking the material of the boy's jacket and scratching his skin. "Let me go, this is a warning. No one can keep me caged, not even you, Megumi."

"This is ridiculous. If you lash out, the higher-ups will have Itadori executed by tomorrow."

Sukuna's eyes glow even in the darkness, the redness boiling with crimson Sukuna thirsts for. He's been deprived of the freedom for far too long. Megumi understands, he truly does, but letting Sukuna go right now, means losing him – and Itadori – forever.

"The brat is unconscious now, I can kill all of them before he wakes up. Or I can have some fun. It doesn't matter, the rest of my fingers are still out there and you are here, which means I can still be reborn."

Sukuna keeps talking with his four eyes wild and fangs sticking out of his mouth. He is a mad man, no actually, just a curse, and Megumi would feel a tiny bit better, if there was regret or fear curling in the pit of his stomach but there is only anger, anger that Sukuna doesn't listen. Words of reason don't reach him, so Megumi focuses on the only other thing that he's good at. Violence.

He curls his fingers in Sukuna's jacket, while the curse still talks and laughs, his maniacal speech elevating. Megumi masters up all the residues of strength that are still in him and uses his head. Quite literally. He smashes his head with Sukuna's, forehead to forehead, nose to nose. Sukuna's body remains a stone, unshakable and seemingly unharmed and the impet backfires at Megumi, making blood flow out of his nose.

At last, Sukuna shuts up.

The world, the darkness around him, spins and Megumi feels his limbs losing balance. He sways from left to right, eyes with no focus and warm fluid dripping down his chin. He would have fallen to the ground, maybe drowned in the shadow forever, if it weren't for two strong arms holding him securely.

"Megumi."

He can hear Sukuna's voice coming towards him but it's muffled and weak. His head sways again, darkness slips into his eyes and the call of his name comes again but Megumi can't pull himself out of this overwhelming numbness that takes over his body.

"Megumi."

A hand comes to his cheek. He's on a verge of slipping into unconsciousness, when his senses sharpen once again. He can feel tingling under his skin, subtle and soothing, and a ghost of breath over his lips. He's being healed. When he pries his eyes open, he witnesses Sukuna letting his tongue out of his mouth and licking the blood off Megumi's face – from chin up to his nose. He hopes Sukuna's thirst for blood is sated now.

"There could be snot in it," Megumi whispers at first but feels himself gaining strength again. "You're disgusting."

"Oh, Megumi," Upon feeling Megumi get his footing right again, Sukuna slips the hand resting on his waist to join the other cupping his face. "It wasn't wise, sweetheart."

"But it was effective," Megumi counters and reaches up to hold on to Sukuna's wrists. The curse licks his chin, lips and nose one more time, before resting his lips just above Megumi's ones. It is not a kiss but Megumi can feel himself leaning into the warm touch. "Don't heal me anymore, Kugisaki saw me weakened after the battle."

Sukuna lets out an annoyed grunt but the tingling under Megumi's skin fades out, leaving him steady and without a nosebleed.

"You annoy me so much," Sukuna lets out, pressing his lips the bridge of Megumi's nose, the four of his eyes fluttering shut in the proces. "I am not a shikigami that can be tamed."

"Of course not," The sorcerer moves one of his hands to Sukuna's hair and tangles his fingers in the pinkish strands. "More of a kitty."

Sukuna fumes but the anger is only an act. If he were truly fed up with Megumi, he would have killed him a long time ago. He wouldn't have let him live, wouldn't have trained him or even let Megumi ask him for the training. He wouldn't have healed him, twice, wouldn't have taken over Itadori's body just to tangle his clawed fingers into Megumi's hair, wouldn't have kept looking at the sorcerer the way he does – with interest, amusement and some twisted kind of adoration.

Megumi understands nothing from what is happening. The school taught him that curses don't have feeling and emotions, which makes them inhuman and naturally evil. And Sukuna is evil but there's so much more to him than just that.

Gojo always showed him the way of jujutsu sorcerers was in need of a change. Though, Megumi doubts Gojo meant letting himself be drawn to the King of Curses.

"Give the reins back to Itadori and let's meet in your domain at night."

"No," Sukuna's eyes are stern but his grip on Megumi's face stays gentle as his thumbs cares the sorcerer's cheeks. Then suddenly his eyes also soften. "He's gonna wake up soon," He presses his face to Megumi's once again, forehead to forehead, nose over the nose, breaths mingled. "I'm going to have this moment to myself."

Megumi knows there is blood smeared over his face and the most dangerous curse of all is holding him in his arms and it's nothing he ever though his life would be. Letting himself be this close to Sukuna is like nearing a fire, you're going to get burned sooner or later but the life of a jujutsu sorcerer is a journey through pains and heartbreaks, so Megumi supposes one more is not going to make a difference.

He stands on his tiptoes – his theory about Sukuna changing Itadori's body is true, as the curse is slightly taller than his friend – and tugs on the pinkish hair. Their mouth are a breath apart, when Megumi sees the redness creep onto Sukuna's cheeks and he would have laughed at the curse, if he wasn't kissing him.

The first touch of their lips is cautious, testing the waters, the second is nothing like it – it's fierce and hot and overwhelming. Their teeth clash, lips moving feverishly with want, desire and a bare, primal need just to be in each other's arms. Megumi still doesn't understand, why is all of this happening but he doesn't care anymore.

Sukuna's hands leave his face to settle on Megumi's hips, holding him tightly and bringing their bodies together. Chest to chest, hip to hip. Sukuna's lips are fire over the pale skin of the sorcerer and his tongue is still wet with Megumi's blood, when it enters his mouth. They kiss like there is no tomorrow because at some point there might not be. The higher-ups might kill Itadori or the boy may regain control over Sukuna and overpower him to the point, where he wouldn't be able to even use his domain so freely.

Or their secret might be revealed and it would be Megumi, who'd be executed.

So they kiss for all the time that might not come.

Megumi lazes around on the wooden floor of Malevolent Shrine. The bloody-waves outside the building gained a little bit of strength with the slight breeze that blows around the domain. The smell of incense is stronger than usual, filling up Megumi's lungs with every inhale he takes.

Sukuna sits in his lap, muscular thighs on both sides of Megumi's hips and white kimono slightly untied to reveal the curse's legs. He grins devilishly at the sorcerer, fangs sticking out of his mouth, four eyes glowing red and a blush adoring his cheeks. Megumi pulls himself up to bring their faces closer.

Sukuna dives for a kiss and bites his lower lip, drawing blood and licking it, indulging in his literal thirst, then kissing him again and smearing the blood over their chins. He's feral. His hands tangle in Megumi's hair, trying to pull the boy even closer.

It's only moments later, when Sukuna's kimono slips off his left shoulder and Megumi's hands find purchase on the curse's thighs and ass cheeks, that the boy realizes the taste of his own blood in his mouth does not disgust him. It doesn't excite him either but he feels quite content with himself, knowing Sukuna can be sated with few drops of his own blood, instead of killing dozens of humans.

"I forgot to tell you earlier," The curse lets go of his lips and leaves small, bloody kissed on Megumi's cheek, nose, eyelids, forehead. "Your domain expansion was perfect."

"Thanks, Gojo trained me well in the last two weeks," He can't stop a cheeky grin from spreading on his lips as Sukuna growls and frowns at him. Megumi squeezes his right ass cheek and watches Sukuna lose composure, blush brightening and lower lip pulled between his teeth.

"I'm starting to believe you and Six Eyes are the monsters here," Sukuna catches Megumi's chin in his hand and lets his thumb breach the boy's lips to enter his mouth. The smell of incense intensifies and Megumi realizes it Sukuna's body that carries it. "And I am the victim."

Emotions are a difficult subject for Megumi, his reactions are usually hidden under the mask of indifference or slight anger. Though, when he watches Sukuna's frown deepen and his lips forming a little pout he can't help himself.

He bursts out laughing with Sukuna's finger still in his mouth and slowly lets go of the curse's legs to lay his back on the wooden floor. He laughs because the King of Curses is so clearly affected by his words and actions, he can't hide it. He laughs because today he got his first kiss. He laughs because there is an unknown fondness and warmth coiling in his stomach each time Sukuna presses his lips to Megumi's skin.

"I wanted to tell you just how proud of you I am," Sukuna takes his right arm and pulls the forearm towards his lips. Through the tears that formed in Megumi's eyes, the boy can see the curse pressing a kiss to the bite mark that he left there the first time Megumi entered his domain. "But you're just a cheeky brat, Fushiguro Megumi."

"You like me that way," Megumi tries to control the laughing but it's futile. "Come and kiss me already, old man."

Megumi laughs between the kisses because he knows happiness never lasts for too long.

Notes:

Thank you for reading~ I had a lot of fun writing part III, hope you liked it too! As always kudos and comments are welcomed, so that I know what you like and what wasn't to your liking. I hope the "blood parts" weren't too strong, I just really like the idea of Sukuna being violent in a subtle way.

And here's an announcement, I have planned another part for the sukufushi pair, which will go to Shibuya Arc and what happens after it BUT for part IV I really really really wanna write a SatoSugu story. I mentioned Suguru's relationship with Satoru here for just a tiny part but I want to give them their own story. So pls bare with me.

As always, you can find me on twitter for some brain rot >>> nolonger_banana
