Chapter 1
One day there’s a girl called Tohru who sees some zodiac animals’ drawings drying outside a beautiful house. Tohru finds out that this house belongs to Prince Yuki and his cousin Shigure. They always lived there but Tohru did not know that. Yuki and Tohru starting having a conversation but in the middle of it, Yuki asks Tohru would you like to walk to school together. Tohru says that would be lovely. While Yuki and Tohru walking to school. 3 members of Prince Yuki fan club see them walking together. The members shouts out to Yuki that they love him. When they get to school, Yuki goes off to find his friends. When Yuki has gone, the members of the club goes over to Tohru and starts having a go at her but when Tohru’s friends Uo and Hana sees how scared Tohru is getting. They go over to the members and tells them to stop picking on Tohru or they have Uo and Hana to answer to. Tohru’s friends are over protective of her, they want to look after her and keep her safe.
After school Tohru walks to work and after she finishes, she goes back home meaning the tent but when she gets there. Yuki and Shigure finds out where she is living, they asks Tohru to get her belongings and move in with them for now on. Afterwards Tohru looks shocked by what Yuki and Shigure said to her. Tohru finds out that Yuki has a rival called Kyo and they are fighting, she does try to stop Kyo but she accidently falls on him, he gets really annoyed by that because he transforms into a bright orange cat. When Tohru finds that out she faints but Yuki and Shigure tries to stop her from falling, they transforms into animals as well. Yuki transforms into a grey rat and Shigure transform into a black dog. After Tohru wakes up, she finds out that the whole family of Yuki’s is cursed but only 12 members of his family can transform into zodiac animals.
Kyo is not including with the other members of the zodiac animals because he was never allowed into the Chinese zodiac that is why he always wants to fight with Yuki every time Kyo sees Yuki so he will be accepted into the zodiac. The only way the 13 members of the zodiac transforms into their animals is when the opposite genders try to hug them but can still accidently falls on them as well. When Tohru finds out all about the curse, Shigure tells her that he has to tell the leader of the family, Akito about what just happened. While Yuki and Tohru are in school, Shigure goes and talks to Akito about Tohru and if she can stay with them.
Akito says it is perfectly fine for her to stay but she must not tell anyone about the curse and Kyo has to live there too. When Tohru and Yuki get home from school, Shigure tells them that Tohru can stay and Kyo is staying there also but Yuki is not happy about that so he tells Shigure to get out. Shigure tells Tohru and Yuki that he and Kyo are going out for a while. He tells Tohru and Yuki that they will be back by lunchtime. While Shigure and Kyo are out, she cleans the whole kitchen on her own, when it is clean Tohru starts to prepare for lunch. When she finishes, it is lunch time Kyo and Shigure get back including Yuki. While they are having lunch, Shigure tells Tohru and Yuki that Kyo is the newest student of their high school. After Shigure tells them, Yuki does not look very happy about it and tells Shigure to get out again.
Kyo starts his first day classes but after the end of classes, he says terrible things to Tohru and upsets her. Kyo goes home and tells Shigure that he does not want to live there anymore. A girl called Kagura shows up and asks to speak to Tohru but afterwards she sees Kyo and her temper gets out of control. She starts to beat up Kyo but Kyo tries everything in his power to get her to stop so she stops if only on the condition that he marries her. After Kagura spent the night Tohru finds out that Kagura is a member of the zodiac but the other members of zodiac does not transform into their animals when hugged. When Yuki hugs Kagura, they does not transform but when Kagura hugs a normal boy she transform into her boar form.
In school Tohru gets a phone call for her grandfather and tells her that the renovations on the house has been completed and she can move back in. when school finished, Tohru goes home and tells Shigure and Yuki that the renovations on her grandfather house are finished. She can move back in so they let her go without saying anything to make her stay. Yuki, Shigure and Kyo gets really annoyed because they are really missing Tohru so much so Yuki and Kyo goes to her grandfather’s to get her to move back in them. While they are there, Tohru’s cousin starts to say terrible things about her and Yuki is not very happy about that, he loses his temper. He has a go at them about why being mean to the one person that is being nice to you all. Tohru’s grandfather sees how worried Yuki and Kyo are when Tohru is not staying with them so he lets her move back in with them as he is alright about it. Tohru gets her belongings and says goodbye to her family, she, Yuki and Kyo goes back to Shigure’s house. When Shigure sees them all together again, he is so happy and starts to cry.
Chapter 2
Before school Tohru asks Shigure can I tell my friends where I am living now please. Shigure says ok but don’t tell them about the zodiac curse. When Tohru and the others get to school, Tohru goes to her friends Uo and Hana only to tell them that she is living with Yuki and staying in his house afterwards Uo and Hana looks very shocked about it. Uo and Hana tells Tohru that they want to stay over tomorrow night to find out if it is a prefect home to live in. Tohru says ok. Tohru’s friends come around and stay over that night to see how Tohru get on with Shigure, Yuki and Kyo. Uo and Hana finds out that she will be perfectly safe living in this house. Yuki and Kyo starts fighting and forgets that Tohru’s friends stayed there the night before. Uo and Hana has a nice conversation with Shigure, Yuki and Kyo to find out what they know about Tohru. Uo and Hana is shocked that Yuki, Kyo and Shigure knows everything about her and loves having her around.
It’s the cultural festival, Tohru finds out about two more members of Yuki’s family and their names are Hatori and Momiji. Momiji asks Tohru if he can hug her because she knows the family secret, when he hugs her he transforms into his zodiac animal which is the rabbit. Afterwards Hatori tells Kyo and Yuki that Akito wanted to go but he was having one of his fevers again so he asked me to go instead of him. After a while Hatori pages for Tohru to go and have a chat with him. Hatori asks her to come to the family estate and don’t tell Yuki and the others.
Tohru goes to the family estate alone while she there, she finds out that Hatori is cursed whenever a girl hugs him. He transforms into a dragon but it is another word for a seahorse. Tohru finds out from Momiji that Hatori had a girlfriend once before and she knew about the family curse. Her name was Kana, when Hatori and Kana wanted to get married they told Akito. He got very angry and out of control, he hurts Hatori’s eye afterwards Kana always blamed herself. After a while Akito asks Hatori to erase her memories when they spent all the time together. Hatori erasers her memories afterwards she tells him she is sorry that she did not have the strength to protect him from Akito and his bad temper.
New Year’s Eve Tohru, Yuki, Kyo, Shigure and Tohru’s friends Uo and Hana cleans the whole house. Yuki and the others forget to tell Tohru that they are going to their family estate for New Year’s Eve celebration and will not be back until the third. At the end of the day Shigure asks Kyo and Yuki if they are going they say No! but Tohru tells them that it is ok to go back. Almost at the family estate Shigure, Kyo and Yuki sees Hana and she tells them that it is the first New Year that Tohru has not spent with her mother. Yuki and Kyo tells Shigure that they going back home when they get there, they sees Tohru start crying. They are happier that they missed the family’s celebrations. When Shigure get to the family estate he goes and tells Akito that Yuki and Kyo are not coming after all.
After school Yuki tells Tohru, Kyo and Shigure that he is coming down with a cold and Tohru worries about him because they have to do the endurance run at school tomorrow. When Kyo finds out about the race, he is so pleased about it but Tohru is worrying about Yuki and wants him to stay at home instead. During the endurance run Tohru finds out about another member of Yuki’s family and his name is Hatsuharu and he can transform into a cow. When Tohru and Hatsuharu are in a middle of a conversation, Haru sees Yuki and Kyo running towards them. Hatsuharu makes Kyo fall over with some ropes when Kyo see what Haru did, he gets up Hatsuharu tries to make Kyo fight him while he is White Haru. When Kyo keeps saying no on the last no White Haru turns into Black Haru with a bad and out of control temper. While Black Haru and Kyo are fighting, Yuki collapses because his fever got very worse than before. Kyo and Black Haru stops fighting to help Tohru out as she wants to do anything to help Yuki so Black Haru goes over to Tohru and hugs her.
He transforms into his zodiac animal to carry Yuki home as it is make easier then carry him. When they get home, Shigure tells Haru to put Yuki in his bed while Haru transferring him. Yuki is already asleep before his head hits the pillow. While Yuki sleeping, Haru phones Hatori to come over to have a look at Yuki as he is ill. Hatori says he will be there as soon as he can, Haru says thanks and goodbye, after his finishes on the phone. Haru goes to Tohru and asks her to call Yuki by his nickname to cheer him up. Tohru calls Yuki by his nickname meaning Prince Yuki, he gets embarrassed and transforms into his rat form.
Chapter 3
Valentine’s day Kyo does not realise that until a girl from his class gives him some chocolate afterwards he remembers and wants to starts a long journey but it’s already too late because Kagura already waiting outside for him. He tries to get away from the school before Kagura catches him to hand over some chocolate. When school is finished Tohru gives Uo and Hana some chocolate she made, Yuki and Tohru goes home where Tohru finds out that Kyo does not like chocolate. Tohru tries to hide the chocolate behind her back but Shigure sees the chocolate and asks who the chocolate for. Tohru says she got everyone one but she forget to ask them if they likes chocolate or not. She got chocolates for the members of your family she has met but Kyo tells her he hates chocolate. Kagura tells him to shut up and just eat it without a problems. Kyo eats both chocolates from Kagura and Tohru. Kagura and Shigure goes to their family estate to give out the chocolate that Tohru has made for them
Momiji asks Tohru what’s the date for tomorrow and Tohru replies it is the 14th March. Momiji tells her that she is taking her to a hot springs resort for white day. Kyo tells Tohru that he is only for her as her present for white day. While at the hot springs the hostess tells Tohru that her own child is a member of the zodiac. The child’s zodiac animal is the monkey. Momiji tells Tohru that the child name is Ritsu, afterwards Momiji tells her that he is going to play ping pong with the others. They get to the ping pong area, they sees Kyo and Yuki playing at the moment but Tohru wants to play a game with Kyo.
While Tohru is playing with Kyo, she misses the ball which makes Yuki to go out the room for some fresh air. Tohru goes to find Yuki to see if he is ok when she finds him, Yuki tells her that he wanted to laugh without Kyo making fun out of him. Yuki gives her a present for white day, the present is dome ribbon for her hair and when Yuki sees how beautiful she is. He calls her a princess and Tohru thinks he is a prince, a handsome prince.
After they spent the night, Momiji tells them that he and Hatsuharu that they are starting high school that spring. Tohru is shocked by that because she thought that Momiji was starting middle school not high school. After the entrance assembly on Momiji and Hatsuharu first day of high school, Shigure tells them that Akito is coming to see them. When Momiji and Hatsuharu sees Yuki, Kyo and Tohru, Tohru tells them that she is going back to the classroom after she leaves them. Momiji tells the others that Akito is coming to the school and he has arrived now, afterwards Yuki looks terrified by Akito because what happened to him when he was younger and lived in the family estate.
While Tohru was walking to class on her own, she sees Akito and they starts talking about things. Yuki finds them talking and wants to know what Akito has said to Tohru, when they finished talking Akito tells Yuki that he would like him to go back home for a while. Tohru sees how terrified Yuki is getting by what Akito is saying so she pushes Akito away from Yuki to stop making him so scared. Tohru and Yuki goes to class after class is finished, Tohru does everything in her power to make Yuki happier for now on. Yuki and Tohru goes to Yuki’s secret garden base, while they are the base Yuki starts to get hungry so he asks Tohru to go back home to start on lunch. Tohru was walking home, she sees some clothes of a man on the ground. Yuki hears Tohru screams so he rushes to her side to find out what happened, she tells him that an animal crawls into her clothes, Yuki sees the top of the animal’s head, he recognise the animal because he is a member of Yuki’s family. The animal is a snake, they goes back to Shigure’s where Yuki tells Tohru that the snake is his older brothers’ zodiac form and his name is Ayame.
Ayame wakes up, he takes Tohru out to lunch while they are ordering Ayame asks Tohru what happened when Akito was at her school. Ayame finds out that Tohru is a good person to be around his brother to cheer him up. They finished their lunch, they goes back to Shigure’s where Yuki asks Tohru what his brother said to her. While they are talking Ayame starts talking inside Tohru’s clothes which makes Yuki very angry and hits him on the head. Ayame slide out from Tohru clothes to goes and see Shigure to ask him if it is ok for Ayame to stay the night. Ayame has stayed 3 day not one night, while Yuki and Tohru are in school, Haru asks Tohru why is Yuki in a bad mood. Tohru tells him that Yuki’s older brother Ayame is staying at Shigure’s, Yuki and Ayame does not get on very well.
After school is finished, Haru goes home and tells Hatori that Ayame is staying at Shigure’s, Haru asks Hatori if you could go to pick up Ayame and take him home to leave Yuk in peace. Hatori goes to Shigure’s to tell Ayame to come home, Ayame says fine I come home. Ayame and Hatori says goodbye to Shigure and leaves.
Chapter 4
The beginning of golden week, Tohru takes Yuki and Kyo to her mom’s grave. While they are walking to the grave, Tohru sees her friends Uo and Hana are walking the same way. When all of them gets to the grave, Tohru finds out that her grandfather has cleaned her mom’s grave and she tells Yuki and Kyo that her grandfather is not her mom’s dad but her deceased dad’s father. Tohru tells them that she does not know her mom’s parents because they stopped talking she was born.
Tohru finds out about another member of the zodiac, the member’s name is Kisa and transforms into a tiger. This time she transform into her form because she is under too much stress in the main house, normally she has to be hugged by a normal boy. Tohru finds Kisa talks to her while Kisa’s mom around to find out why she is overly stressed and runs away from home. Kisa does not want her mom to know why so she tells her mom that she is staying at Shigure’s, while Kisa there her mom phones Tohru how she is doing.
Tohru and the others finds out why she is under so much stress because her classmates are picking on her due to the way she looks so Kisa has locked her voice away. While Kisa is at Shigure’s, she finds the strength to start talking to Shigure, Yuki and Kyo while Tohru is at her job. Tohru finds out that the building she works at belongs to Yuki’s family. She sees Momiji and he tells her about his little sister. Momiji tells Tohru that his parents and sister does not know him because when he was born, he transform into the rabbit which freaked out his mom so much to make her reject to the result for Hatori to erase his existence from her memories. Tohru cries for Momiji as he has to see his parents and sister from afar. Tohru comes home from work and finds Kisa talking to the others, Tohru starts crying as she is so happy for Kisa.
At the end of golden week Shigure wants to go to the lake house with Tohru and the others, Hatori comes along with them. While Tohru, Yuki and Kyo was getting ready to go for a walk, Ayame shows up without a word that he was coming. While Tohru, Yuki and Kyo are out, Ayame and Shigure tells Hatori why they wanted to come to the lake house because Kana has gotten married. Ayame has some pictures of her wedding, Hatori says that why you two wanted to come to the lake house. Ayame says to him if Kana is happy that she chose to forget, you should not get her back. You could find someone better that will make happier than Kana could never be. Tohru, Yuki and Kyo comes back from their walk, Ayame tells his brother to respect him more but Yuki gets angry with Ayame and throws him into the air. Tohru goes to see if Ayame is alright but when she hugs him, he transforms into the snake. Yuki sees Ayame in his animal form so he throws Ayame in the lake.
Start of mid-term Tohru finds out that she failed one of her test, she worries about it so much she starts to get a fever. Kyo tells Tohru when we get home go straight to bed. Shigure phones Hatori to ask him to come over to see how Tohru is doing, Hatori says I will be around after completing my work. Yuki comes home, he finds out that Tohru come home from school with a fever. Hatori has come to check on Tohru, Momiji and Kisa has accompany him to see how Tohru is. Hatori tells Tohru while he check her fever that everyone in the house is worrying about her when she is sick.
Kisa says we all do including Grandpa Hatori, Yuki makes Tohru a book will all the points about the first test so she can revise for her re-test when she better. Ayame goes to Shigure’s to ask Yuki if he wants to go to his work with him, Yuki says ok I come. Ayame ask Tohru if she wants to come with Yuki to his work, Tohru says she will be coming also, Yuki and Tohru goes to Ayame’s work only to find out that Ayame wanted to speak to Yuki privately. While Yuki and Ayame are talking, Ayame co-worker Mimi takes Tohru in the back room to let her try on one of the dresses. Ayame and Yuki has finished talking, Ayame calls Mimi to let her know that Tohru can come back now. Tohru come in, Yuki sees how beautiful she is in the dress and Yuki stares, he is very tongue-tied can’t say anything. Ayame tells Tohru that she is very pretty.
At the end of the day Yuki and Tohru says goodbye and thanks for the lovely company to Ayame and Mimi, they leaves. Ayame phones Hatori, tells him that today will be always be knew as Yuki’s day of romance. After school when Tohru is almost at work, a boy shows up and takes a notebook out of her bag. Momiji and Kisa finds Tohru and sees how worried she is because the boy has taken her notebook, she tells Momiji and Kisa that her notebook contains a picture of her mom. They go looking for the boy to get her notebook back, Tohru tells them that she will not accept the apology from him but she will hug him to see if he is cursed. Tohru hugs, he transforms into the sheep and the boy’s name is Hiro.
Chapter 5
Hiro goes to Kisa’s house only to find out that she is with Tohru at Shigure’s, Hiro goes there and tells Tohru that he dislikes her because she helped Kisa to go back to school after her classmates bullied. Kisa and Hiro goes to Shigure’s for a couple of days to spend time with Tohru but this time they decided to go to Tohru’s school to see her. She finds out why Hiro didn’t help Kisa when she was getting bullied. While Kisa and Hiro were in the main house, Hiro tells Akito that he really likes Kisa. When Akito saw Kisa, he slaps her around the face and she falls to the ground. Hiro tries not to get so close to Kisa so she not hurt again by Akito.
After school Tohru sees a girl having problems with her paper bag, when Tohru and the girl goes to Shigure’s. Tohru knows the girl’s name which is Ritsu and she thinks that Ritsu is the daughter of the hostess at the hot springs resort. Yuki comes home, Tohru finds out that Ritsu is a boy not a girl because when she tries to hug Ritsu to stop himself getting hurt. He transforms into his monkey which makes Tohru falls and cuts her hand. Ritsu disappears, Tohru finds out that he on the roof and wants to jump but he hurts his ankle instead of jumping.
Shigure phones Hatori to come around to check Tohru’s hand, when he gets there he needs to check on Ritsu as well because Hatori is a medical doctor. Ritsu and Hatori stays around Shigure’s for the next 3 days so he can keep an eye on how Ritsu’s ankle is healing, his ankle is healing perfectly. While Hatori and Ritsu are around, Kyo and Yuki tries to fight each other but it doesn’t happen because they remember that Ritsu and Hatori are living with them temporary. Ritsu and Hatori goes back home to the family estate now as Ritsu’s ankle has completely healed.
Tohru finds out that Kyo has a martial art teacher, he has come back to tell Kyo to show Tohru your zodiac true form and he removes Kyo’s bracelet off his wrist. Kazuma removes the beads, Kyo transform into a big brown cat and runs away because he does not want Tohru to see him like this. It takes a lot of people to convince Tohru to go looking for Kyo. Tohru finds Kyo but he tries to run, Yuki grabs hold of his leg to stop him. Kyo hurts Yuk’s shoulder, Yuki says is this all we do is running away is that all we do. Why I am tired of running, I am not going to do anymore. Yuki tells Tohru to tell Kyo the truth, tell him what you think right now just tell me. Tohru says to Kyo lets go back to our house, I am sorry I am such a fool I am afraid of you but still I want to stay together, together I do always. I want to eat our meals together, study together and worry together. I want to tell you all the things in my mind and Kyo I want to listen, I want us to stay together.
Kyo is back in his human form, she says to Tohru its ok you don’t have to love anything if you are afraid it proves that you see the real me not like my mum. She went thought the motions of loving me but she never ever tried to see, I wanted us to talk together and worry together too. I was fine with her being after of me even if she didn’t love me in that ugly form. I wanted us to stay together, Kyo starts crying I been a fool I didn’t think anyone would ever say to me not to be. Kyo turns to hug Tohru, he turns into the orange cat. Kyo says to her how is it that you can give me the words I needed the most, someone like you can be by my side crying for me. Tohru carries Kyo in his cat form back to Shigure’s, when they are outside they sees Kazuma waiting holding Kyo’s beads. Yuki comes back holding his hurt shoulder, Shigure comes out to see everyone as Kyo is back to normal and starts crying. Kagura is also there and wraps Yuki’s hurt shoulder in some bandages and she thanks him for helping Kyo.
Tohru asks Shigure that she wants to see Akito. Shigure tells Tohru that Akito is the way he is because he holds the core of the family curse and he is going to die. Tohru, Yuki, Kyo and Shigure goes to the family estate to see him but Kyo has to stay outside as he is not permitted into the house. Hatori shows up at the main gate to see Tohru and the others to Akito’s room. Akito asks Tohru why she there but before she can answer him, he loses his temper and grabs her hair. Shigure and Yuki rushes over to make sure he doesn’t hurt her more.
Akito tells her that she is not allowed to keep living in that house, I will make you regret that you ever had anything to do with this family. You will suffer as we suffer because do you think by kneeling before me will change anything. Let me tell you that you can’t none of you can, you can never leave this family and just like you can never go out against me. Now I want to hear you beg me for forgiveness, say you will never interfere with this family again.
Chapter 6
Tohru says to Akito it must be very painful being told the day you were born that you were going to die, it must be so painful. He says what was, what do you know about it. She says you right, I can’t even imagine how awful it would be to know something like that or how terrifying. Shigure, Yuki, and Kyo I’m sure they feel the same way and Hatori too and when you pass away, we will be sad we will be very sad to lose you and so.
Akito says who going to be sad, everyone will be able to live thanks to m they will hope I am gone quickly. I was born in order to die and that what was decided. Tohru says but why who decided that had to be like that and Akito right now you alive aren’t you. Akito says alive you all this being alive do you but it been decided and they never even asked me. Tohru says I didn’t know my mum was going to die.
Akito shouts at Tohru to be quiet and stop talking, Akito orders Hatori to erase this girl’s memory do it now. Tohru says I wanted her to live a long time, I wanted her to be here to watch me but I don’t know what your family curse is. I’m happy, I am happy to know you and I don’t regret meeting you or anyone not at all. I want to know you please tell me how you feel even if you are angry, bitter or frustrated that ok because the important things is that right now you are alive.
Akito let goes of Tohru’s hair and pushed Shigure and Yuki away from him as he is so shocked by what she has said. Akito says I will remember. Tohru, Yuki, Hatori and Shigure leaves Akito’s room and the main house, they meet up with Kyo and he asks Yuki what happened in there. Tohru says nothing really, I guess it was presumptuous to think anything will change today. Shigure and Hatori says oh no that’s not true at all indeed it’s not, Kyo says what are you talking about Shigure says nothing just thinking out loud, Kyo says no you weren’t and tell me right now.
Tohru says I will promise to tell you everything once we get home to Kyo, Yuki tells Kyo that when we get home he wants to fight to prove who has grown stronger over the year that they has been living in the same house together with Tohru. When they are at home, they start fighting but nothing happens, they don’t want to fight until they have lunch. Tohru gets home from getting some food from the shop after they have finished lunch, Yuki and Yuki starts fighting again and it’s proves that both 0f them has gotten stronger but either of them wins because they are the same strength now. Tohru is so happy that they tried to see who is the strongest out of them.
6 months later, Kyo moves out of Shigure’s because he finds out that he has strong feelings for Kagura but he didn’t know that until she stops and tells him that she will keep beating him up every time she sees him. Kyo tells her that he loves her and he is going to keep the promise of marrying you. Tohru and Yuki tells each other that they love each other but they had to wait until Akito has moves on to the other world meaning heaven. When Akito has moved on to the other world, Tohru and Yuki can get married. Yuki tells Tohru that she can tell her friends about the family secret now that Akito has died.
Before Tohru could leave to see her friends, Yuki bends down to kneel before Tohru and he takes a box out of his pocket. He opens the box to show Tohru the ring that in there, Yuki propose to her to marry him. Shigure overhears what Yuki just asked Tohru, he stands there gobsmacked and waiting for Tohru’s answer, she shouts yes I will but when do you want the wedding to happen. Yuki says we can get married in 3 months’ time with the whole family at the estate. He places the engagement ring on her hand, it is a lovely cherry blossom style ring with a small pink sapphire to present the colour of the sakura flower.
Tohru goes to see her friends Uo and Hana to tell them about Yuki’s family’s secret, while she is telling them. Hana says that we already know as when we stayed over that night, we saw that the boys transformed into animals. We were shocked as you tripped into all three t0 stop Yuki and Kyo fighting, we were waiting to see if you were going to tell us but we realised that something was holding you back. We noticed a lot of things about Yuki’s family as you met a lot of new members during the last year and half. Why are you telling us now but not before, what was holding you back.
Tohru explains to them that the leader of Yuki’s family has passed away as he would off ordered all three of our memories to be erased.
