- While you were part of Special Forces, you spent most (all) of your time amongst the Shaolin.
- Raiden had suggested that you stay there to train with Liu Kang due to some prophecy surrounding your blood line.
- Allegedly, you were the key to the future Chosen One.
- Liu Kang was a good friend and an excellent teacher, but his lessons were never as fun as Kung Lao’s.
- Your relationship with him had taken off the moment you met.
- His playfulness and sarcasm had attached directly to your heart, and it wasn’t long before you found yourself seeking his company.
- He never expected to fall in love, but he fell hard for you.
- Raiden knew what he had done by placing you at the temple.
You felt untouchable as you assumed your fighting stance in front of your mirror. Kung Lao’s beloved hat sat atop your head as you mimicked his iconic pose. The sound of his laughter made you stand and turn with a hand on your hip to face him.
“Exactly what is so funny, Lao,” you asked.
He shrugged as he approached you with raw amusement in his eyes. The monk adjusted his hat on your head before leaning down and planting a sweet kiss on your lips.
“I thought Liu Kang had hidden it again,” he explained, “I owe him an apology. Seems as though my true enemy is the one I hold dearest.”
“Is that right,” you drawled, “What would you do to have your precious weapon back?”
Lao was intrigued by that question. Your coyness forever kept the Shaolin on the edge of his seat, and it was just another thing he adored about you.
“Hmm? What would you have me do, Thief,” he questioned you.
“Teach me to wield your weapon, and I will be at your mercy tonight,” you offered with a tempting smile.
Your scream caught in your throat as he pulled you into his arms. One moment you were in your room and the next you were at the training grounds. Kung Lao laughed at your expense when you punched him in his chest.
“I hate when you do that,” you shouted!
“You love me,” he responded confidently.
“I can’t deny that,” you beamed at him while dropping into his favorite stance.
Titling your head back to grin at him from beneath his hat, you motioned for him to attack.
*Meanwhile a few feet away*
Liu Kang and Raiden both were surprised to see you and Kung Lao appear on the training grounds. They watched as the both of you fought in the moonlight.
“Lord Raiden, you never told us of her link to the future Chosen One,” Liu Kang said to the thunder god.
“I suppose you are right,” Raiden answered, “She will birth the Chosen One.”
“I don’t understand,” Liu reasoned.
“Look at them, Liu Kang,” the thunderer chuckled.
Liu Kang observed as Kung Lao pinned you to the ground and straddled you. A blush settled onto his cheeks as he watched you pull his best friend into a passionate kiss. It all made sense!
