The 1st of September.
What a beautiful day.
A loud knock came from the door "Come on, Adora! Wake up! It's time for breakfast! " said a male voice outside the room.
A small grunt came from under many layers of blanket. Adora slowly opened her eyes. Did she stay up late the other night? Books were scattered around her along with papers and a quill. At least she managed to prepare her stuff before leaving in the morning.
Her friend's house was always energic and really felt like home. The home she never had. That made her heart warm somehow.
She stood up and stretched a bit, and she realized that she grew up a little, because her shirt was shorter than she remembered.
"How did I grow up so fast? I'm only thirtheen! I don't want to be a giant woman when I became older!" Adora spoke towards her magical familiar: a small corgi, named Bubbles. The dog just looked at her with his tongue out and barked. "Yeah, you're right. I shouldn't worry that much. Let's go, Bubs" She took a green sweater and looked at herself in the mirror. Her hair was all fuzzy, but she quickly grabbed her hair tie and tied them up in a high pony tail. Bubs barked happily. "Better, right?"
She was ready to go.
She went down the stairs as she started to hear people talking, she recognized George and Lance talking. "Hi there" she said with a small voice. She still wasn't used to this, since she only spent three months with the family.
"Oh hi, Adora! I'm surprised you weren't already awake this morning. It's a special day!"
"I stayed up a little more than I should have..."
"Don't tell me, you were studying? School hasn't started yet, Adora" George said with a stern voice, but he held a smile. He knew that sometimes she overworked herself a little bit more than she should.
"Hey, Adora. Glad that you're awake. I'm sorry for the fuss, the first day of school is always like that"
"No worries Bow! Also, thank you so much for letting me be here for summer. Really, it means a lot than being back there".
"You don't have to worry, Adora. Feel free to come every summer that you like! We kinda enjoyed your presence here" Lance intervened with a small grin.
"Yeah" said George, "you really helped us a lot. We really thank you"
"Alright dads, we are ready to go"
"Wait you said breakfast is ready-"
"That was five minutes ago" Bow laughed, " Come on, you'll eat when we get on the train".
It felt like yesterday when she discovered that she was a witch. That day was one of the most important and beautiful day of her life.
And now she started her third year at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Hogwarts.
The wagons were already full of students and Adora didn't know where to sit until...
"Hey, Adora" her voice. Adora couldn't help herself but smile widely at her sight when she opened the door. "Catra!" the girl smiled as well.
"How was your summer?" Adora sat happily next to Catra and her dog followed quickly and rest near his protector.
"That went good actually! What about yours?" Catra's smile faded a little. She clutches her cap as if she tried to hide in it. "Catra..."
"No, it's okay. It wasn't horrible, at least not when she was around. I kinda wished I could have come with you and Bow actually".
Adora moved closer to her and held Catra's hand. "Perhaps next summer you will! But now let's focus on this third year. It's gonna be hard, I've already tried to study as more as I could during summer and-" Catra's laughed stopped Adora and she blushed a little. "W-What are you laughing?!"
"I'm sorry Adora...but you're an incredible witch. You will go just fine" Catra blushed too. "Thank you...Sometimes I wished we could have been in the same House. It would be a lot easier with you in the dorm"
Catra looked at her with wide eyes and tried to hide herself. "S-Stop! W-What are you saying- S-Shut up!" That reaction made Adora laughed so much.
A knock stopped them both. The door opened and Bow showed up with another person behind her. "There you are! I've been looking for you all along"
"Adora, Catra, this is my best friend, Glimmer. She's a Gryffindor like me, she just doesn't really like you both because of your houses. But she's okay, really!"
Glimmer facepalmed. "Nice introduction, Bow. And yes, I don't trust you, either of you" she watched Adora and Catra with a frown. "I told her I spent the summer with you Adora, and that you were a good friend but I think it will be a bit harder than I thought-"
"I HEARD YOU"
Adora laughed, followed by Catra and Bow. Glimmer stood there for a few seconds, before smiling a little and sitting down.
That was a long way for Hogwarts.
But that is just the beginning.
