Work Text:

Know that I loved you so bad

I let you treat me like that

I was your willing accomplice, honey

soobin had been looking at the pale white table sitting infront of his own two eyes, idly playing with his clean fingers underneath the warm light of the room, gently trailing his fingers to occasionally caress the bracelet along his wrists

"soobin" a voice ranged through cutting his train of thoughts, his then trance mind snapped back into reality responding into the brown haired woman infront of him with the clipboard, fixing her glasses slightly calmly calling the boy's name out

"yeah?" he tiredly replies, without any resists or a doubt that maybe he should finally givve in

the woman cleared her voice softly and grabbed her pen about to write yet another list of something soobin couldn't tell what was for, but curiousity isn't good and he told him that before

so he's not fond of having a curiousity

"and you're telling me you didn't know where he went after that night?" she asked him in a gentle pressing manner trying to bring out something from the taller male lazily sighing

"for the last time, no i didn't he just let me go and left"

"but your friend beomgyu said-"

"he's always speaking nonsense" soobin finishes her sentence midway and groans softly at the mention of his supposed friend

beomgyu is always a cautious boy, always looking out for soobin when things get out of control and down west when it wasn't on their favour he owed the younger boy so many things, but at times like this he wished he should've just shut up and trust him

danger doesn't always means bad thing, and sometimes

danger was something that he needed in his life

and thats how he was willing to put himself in a thousand dangers when he met him

his mother always said to make good friends with anyone, especially when they're kind to you

and yeonjun is nothing but has been kind to him, the image of the older boy flashes before his own mind and he had to feign a feeling to ignore he wasn't about to spill a thousand smiles and hundreds fond feelings he had towards him

not in this place he wont.

Doe-eyed as you buried me

One heart broke, four hands bloody.

soobin wasn't sure what cross his well being when he heard a knock upon the window store he had been working on dead at night, but upon his innocent eyes he saw someone knocking open the door, falling down the floor and crouching into the side wall

his mind snapped into two, the person was obviously hurt and with his pure of heart and maternal instinct his mother had blessed upon him he quickly rushed towards the guy eyes scanning for a million reasons to make sure he wasn't making a mistake

"h-hey! whats with you?" his voice bell and he helped the guy to sit up straight, and his face was more than someone who had been shocked beyond safety

the guy or shall he thinks, the boy no older than him, looked like he has been went through the most traumatic gruesome thing, his face was all reds across the cheeks and dropping down his nose, blue was scattered all over his eyes and lips, and one particular black hue rests on his right eye

"holy hell- fuck"  a word that as soft as a cotton trying not to alarm the other

the boy then glances at soobin before giving him a faint smile before he puts his hands on soobin's

"do me a favour, if anybody ask im not here"

and somehow soobin understood something was up, he knew it wasn't just a regular guy but he didn't have the heart to do anything about it

danger was a bad thing beomgyu said

danger could get you killed

but right before him, soobin was sure that danger was on its last thread begging on soobin's feet to save it, to let it atleast see another day

and soobin knew he was more than ... involved

"what's your name?" he asked timidly after cleaning the boy's face with the back store spare medkit, he makes a mental note to thank yerin for she has common decency to provide for her employees

"yeonjun." the boy almost immediately said hissing into the cotton

soobin felt awe, he knew he was taking so many risks already when he decided to take the said boy in moving him into the bathroom stalls to clean his wounds

and yeonjun was just like another passing boy, so normal looking without anything possibly wrong with him

"what have you done?"

"i took someone's wallet" he said in a rather rough tone, cheeks resting on soobin's hands when his fingers brush up the wounds

"oh"

and that clicked immediately, he's just a simple thief but surely something else click on soobin's head

a thief wouldn't have a badly stab wound on their shoulder, right?

"we should get you onto a hospital and the cops" he reminded yeonjun after dabbing another alcohol infused cotton to his face and shoulders cleaning it throughoutly

yeonjun lets out a small ominous giggle "that my dear, unfortunately i am avoiding them both"

and then everything makes more sense to soobin, how his stupid naïve head was not picking it up

he was more than a thief

a running person, a fugitive, someone trying to get out the red flag of death from his own consequences.

"don't worry, you've been so kind to me i wont hurt you at all matter of fact i dont hurt people... unless i have to" yeonjun seems like he could read through people's mind, as he could sense the shift in soobin's gesture and expression

his mother blessed him with the same kindness as she had, but soobin wondered if his kindness was something taken for granted by the universe

he didn't questioned anything else, for he knows ot wasn't any of his business

he was certain yeonjun would be gone by the time he's done

but soobin, can tell his intuition is wrong sometimes

yeonjun smiles when he's finished and his cheeks was the cherry blossoms when his eyes landed on yeonjuns now better looking condition of a face

the smile that had strucked a nerve on soobin's heart, oh he won't listen the end of beomgyu's rambling if he knows

the eyes that shot back at soobin

it was glimmering with hopes in a way soobin knew the other was hoping his secret is safe

he lets a silent promise goes on

and he's fucked.

The things I did

Just so I could call you mine

The things you did

Well, I hope I was your favorite crime.

"WHAT?" beomgyu blared into soobin's ears and he could tell whatever it is, he's gonna get tired by the time its done

soobin immediately covers the younger's mouth when he almost blurted everything back, eyes furrowed hoping he get the hint

beomgyu let out a long sigh when soobin releases his hand "are you fucking crazy soobin?"

"i am"

"not funny!" beomgyu stormed off the backroom when soobin called him out not to holding his wrists tightly, a death lock

"please i beg you don't do anything stupid, he's just hurt and wanted a few days off the radar" soobin desperately attempts to convince beomgyu, even when the younger had looked at him like he has grown a new head

"are you listening to yourself choi soobin?" his voice was stern and cold, and soobin knows he completely abandoned his moral compass when beomgyu is being too serious for his comfort

"you let a random person down here- your workplace who might be a terrorist or some i dont know dangerous cults or or crime organisation and what not! and oh bless yerin she is as dense as a brick!" beomgyu rambled on circling around the corner of the store refusing to meet soobin's face

"because he's HURT? and now you're helping him avoiding the authorities?!" and the accusing finger finally landed on soobin's gaze

he is doomed to it all

"yeah" soobin couldn't argue, all thought process had been long ignored and he wasn't going to pretend he isn't the main guilty one here

beomgyu rolled his eyes and folded his hand leaning into one of the snacks rack, eyes deadly and he knows, he knows, the younger was gonna nail down a question he wasn't sure what to answer

"and what are you gonna do when they find out?" and there it is

soobin didn't knew, his mind was racing down to everything reasons on why he should be ready anytime when groups of people asks yeonjuns whereabouts

but he wasn't a coward, soobin was a man of confrontation when he needed to be

and confrontations like this with beomgyu, he was sure he's ready too

alas

"im not sure" he backed down, defeated

"just as i imagined" the younger clicked his tongue walking past soobin

and the next words was like a land submerging slowly into the ocean

"in 5 days he will leave, yerin will never know and pretend i do too. in 5 days he will leave and you say nothing when anybody ask" beomgyu's distant voice echoed

and perhaps, maybe the younger had spare adrenaline himself to let the danger lurks that long

"thank you gyu"

soobin felt a huge surge of relief all the burdens lifted off his shoulders

his feet made a way into the other backrooms, he was certain the building had enough space that not even his other co-workers could've figure out he had yeonjun hidden under the long ignored storage room

"hi" his voice softly greeted the red hair sitting down ontop of worn out cushion pillows and tattered coverings

"how was it?"

"awful, zero service and terrible food" yeonjun joked when he noticed soobin had comeback, both of them exchange lame giggle as soobin sat infront of him

it has been two days since that night, soobin didn't keep track of it easily but he remembers dragging and struggling to drag yeonjun down the room when his badly injured feet limped along with soobin

yeonjun was still full of mystery, but soobin didn't want to risk himself more for asking about it, the danger was already at alarming level now but soobin couldn't really help to wonder

the red haired is kind and as sweet as he is, he was careful around soobin and understands his boundaries when soobin is working, making himself around the place quietly without any noises or attractions, and soobin hates how yeonjun could make him giggle and daze in the front desk

"your friend?" ah yes, yeonjun was also made aware of beomgyu's skepticism and overly alert nature though he understands

"he'll be fine, but you had to leave in ...five days? is that enough?" bless his heart for always being the worrywart, knowing yeonjun is still in a bad shape

he cannot tell yeonjun's expression but the older was already grateful he was let on that easy without any difficulties, he understands all the danger and the unknown of what happened if he stayed longer

"i am thankful really, for already being helped like this" and there was that charming smile again, oh soobin was cursing himself

"but why did you save me that easily soobin?" the question was a heavy one, soobin himself wasn't sure was it his good deed points? was it the small voice of his mother telling him he should always help someone when they're in need? he wasn't sure.

"im just worried you're gonna die in the store, and im not in any mood to go in details with the forensics or hospital" he lazily remarked

yeonjun snorted

"so you're the lame cheesy type of man"

and soobin wouldn't lie he felt insulted, so insulted he grabbed a cloth and threw it at yeonjuns face

the laughter after, soobin knew he was already inside the danger

welcoming it

and he is aware, he is playing with more than fire.

You used me as an alibi i crossed my heart as you crossed the line

"let me repeat it again soobin, where did he went?" a bolder voice this time came into the room, the woman had sighed for the countless times not trying to figure out what is soobin trying

"for the last time, i dont know okay?" soobin bite back, his voice was hinting at his involvement and he tried his best not to fall into the bait like yeonjun has always warn him

the man slammed his fist into the table, soobin was unphased for he had seen better try on intimidating him starting from his father to his own ever so loving mother, he wasn't faltering at the frustration the man is showing

rather, he founds it amusing and he finally understands why yeonjun likes to poke around the bush alot

"you were the person last seen- no! you were WITH him when he was running away soobin now quit acting and just tell us where he went" the man pressed on again, his eyes was daggers into soobin's face

"yeah i was with him, but he just went on without telling me" he slipped through a white lie, holding the urge to smirk and plaster his smug face, yeonjun told him never get ahead of himself in situations where he's cornered but playing around was just optional

but it seems, he has to broke those two rules

when he realizes his face was already inches closer to the man when the larger body pulled him by the collar almost choking, he knew that maybe he played around too much

but he liked the trill of it all

yeonjun was a bad influence? he couldn't say it like that

he thaught him to stand on his grounds

and soobin is a stubborn person mankind had ever walked on

"enough of that!" the woman, soobin couldn't really remember her name but her blonde hair was far more than enough to make sure he thanked her later when he walked out or if he ever walked out from here

"break time, soobin ill be back in 25 minutes by then please heavens dear please tell me a bit of hint, anything and i promise you'd be off in no time" and soobin was amazed how everyone could lie easily without knowing they were telling on themselves

maybe he was like that too? he couldn't know

as soon as the pair walked off the room, soobin leaned back the white plastic chair and looking at the one way mirror, closing his eyes soon after and faintly breathe

"you better be fine."

And I defended you to all my friends

soobin was strolling the cart around the store filling in snacks and what not into the racks as yeonjun followed him behind, eating a bag of chips he'd know that it'll cut soobins paycheck if yerin ever found out

"seriously how does she not notice you yet? by this time im more than willing to tell her there's a mole here" soobin groaned as yeonjun giggled from behind his back satisfied

"oh that's one thing about me dear boy, i am invincible to almost anybody, besides your fault this place only have 1 camera" yeonjun laughed as he continued to torment the younger with his words

soobin figured out that yeonjun is older, he found out he doesn't really have any family or anything in mind, he wasn't keen on asking much but yeonjun lets him know enough his life wasn't that normal or ordinary

all he could tell soobin was that he was just more than enough to bring the whole town down in fire with him if he wanted too, and soobin wasn't convinced, but judging by how yeonjun almost snapped that rude customer's hand out of the camera when he was being too rude to soobin he is sure yeonjun is capable of such things

"where did i gave you permission to call me dear?" soobin raised his eyebrows, the next two days with yeonjun was funny he thinks, a roller coaster of foreign feelings he had never seen or feel before

"oh?" yeonjun teased a smile and soobin being the competitive soul he is wanted to wipe it off his face, wanted to get rid of his obvious smugness

"i didn't knew you were feisty, where's the sweet little soobin?" yeonjuns voice melodically filled soobin's ears and he was gonna kill himself if he doesn't want to admit his cheeks are another sets of beautiful pink shades

soobin collapsed his own ego, and this wasn't the better

he knew if his ego already down easily like that everything else will follow

and boy oh boy he was letting yeonjun win each time despite them not knowing eachother for so long

yet soobin was still curious and he lets his heart thread its own desires

he was clumsy, stupid but he wanted to know more about yeonjun that he let his ego down

that alone was already too much.

yerin was still ignorant to the whole situation, and thankfully yeonjun wasn't gonna just scare her poor heart if she ever founds out

but destiny was soobin's arch nemesis

"oh soobin! you didn't tell me your friend is here" a familiar voice came into the frame and soobin stopped his cart, frantically eyeing at the source

yeonjun could only give a sweet welcomimg friendly smile when yerin walked to them both taking off her jacket with bright confused look

"what's your name?" one thing soobin love about yerin she is a very understanding supervisor, one thing he hates is she is invasive and just as curious as he is.

"yeonjun" the red haired kindly conversed with yerin, soobin is astonished by how yeonjun fabricates everything easily that yerin is swayed by everything he says

"are you perhaps his boyfriend?" the girl smiled cheekily knowing it make soobin chokes on air

"maybe"

and soobin, was this close on slamming the cart on yeonjuns face if only he doesn't remembers yerin was there, and he's still recovering

sometimes he wonders is it his common sense or his heart telling him to let yeonjun goof around without thinking it'll cause him trouble or consequences, but that's the fun part he thinks

and he likes to outdo himself in terms of assuming things

as yerin made her way off to her office, yeonjun was already following soobin back nudging the taller's shoulder "never had a boyfriend huh? yerin sure is such a blabber mouth"

she is.

soobin rolled his eyes "yeah i never had one, what about it?"

yeonjun enjoyed himself making the younger's day a bit harder by his words and doings that he finds it entertaining to see "such a shame though, you're pretty"

"are you seriously hitting on me right now?" soobin was in disbelief looking at yeonjun pushing his shoulders away

"bingo?"

the small chuckles and series of groans filling the halls, soobin couldn't shook yeonjun off no matter how hard he tries since the older was just like his plus one stuck at the back

and beomgyu, was just another headache when he could see yeonjun visibly walking behind soobin

yeonjun was devilishly taunting and beomgyu was just as equally defensive when it comes to his friend

and soobin wanted nothing to slam his head to the register when the two couldn't stop being pointing at each other fingers

"the fuck you doing here?" beomgyu glared at yeonjun sitting by the unoccupied cashier register, soobin knew he's gonna get another one cut from his paycheck because of it

he begged yeonjun not to fall for it, but yeonjun being the difficult person he is smirked at beomgyu

"taking care of this lovely dear here"

everything that follows was deaf ears and blind eye to soobin, he wished everything would just stop and he could finish his job really nicely without disturbance

yeonjun strangely was not rough with beomgyu, they were like old friends, so good that soobin had forgotten yeonjun time was limited and everything must go back to its natural setting

but soobin couldn't believe yeonjun was someone that could be so so dangerous that beomgyu was so wary of him, watering down to nothing but giggles and teasing when the two finally get to know each other through their exchanges

soobin wanted to believe maybe they were paranoid, yeonjun wasn't anything dangerous and maybe that night it was just a though day for yeonjun

or maybe that yeonjun was just on a unfortunate run, he wasn't sure but his feelings, his chest was bubbling with all the things he couldn't imagine

his ego is down

his pride is crumbling

he is doomed, but he already told himself that

he wanted to run away and just hide until yeonjun goes

but the older was just too insisting

it was jarring to the point it becomes dramatic until it boils down to something as a feeling he could tell but he wont say

it was a forbidden law he had to cross, but he won't tell himself that

his pride is crumbling

And now every time a siren sounds
I wondеr if you're around

"he's still not telling everything at all" the man loudly grumbles as the woman infront of him led them back towards the interrogation room, she could feel his frustration as she too is losing her patience

"what was the last seen footage of that store?" she asked, the evidence itself was not enough that soobin had could been following yeonjun around but she still had hopes

"its just them running out, son of a bitch still manage to kill one down before they went out" he recalls looking at the footage and sees how yeonjuns bloodied fingertips dragged soobin away from the store

"the store owner? that other boy?"

"jung yerin, i don't know if she is conspiring with them but she refused to say anything else and said quote on quote 'had no idea he known soobin' and worse yet that other boy choi beomgyu is just difficult as she is" he slammed the files down on a table in the monitor room

"its obvious they knew something, but let's not pressed on its useless, who knows what kind of threat yeonjun did to them" she simply shrugged and dranked her coffee

"i mean... you're right a boy caring in for currently the most wanted sly fox by every sides, even other divisions and their mothers are dying to have a lick of information to bring in the big gold"

"precisely" she nodded as they watched soobin from the mirror, the boy had done nothing but closing his eyes for the last 20 minutes their coworkers said and she is intrigued

"what now then?" a voice of small hints of surrender was closing in, with a bit of persistence

"he is lying for sure....but then again if we keep going in circles, even that gold will be nothing but coals, lets give it one more go, and then if he keeps it up, we should look on other places." the later had finally come to some realizations too because they have been chasing cats and dogs all day

"you're always smarter than me"

"when have i not?"

Cause you know that I'd do it all again

"why are we here again?" yeonjun pulled up his hoodie and covered his face with the black mask soobin had bought for him, wearing his clothes cause soobin had complained he only wears the same thing for the last 3 days

"because im on a day off and i dont trust yerin or beomgyu to be around the store when you could be just anywhere in the isle" soobin had took yeonjun out to the streets near his apartment, he gave yeonjun his spare clothes so the older could get some fresh air

thankfully beomgyu got his back covered, so he won't be getting many questions, yeonjun was like a lost kid that followed soobin around and he too found that adorable to see, but he won't say that out loud

yeonjun had become a constant at soobin's day, filling the once dull afternoon with his teasings and horrible pick up lines that he would lie to himself he hates it, when in reality he was loving it every single day and he could've sure yeonjun knows it too

even when soobin got reminded by beomgyu he has to leave anytime soon he couldn't help to feel a bit hollow at the thought, he is sent back to reality to realise yeonjun was not your everyday person

he was something more, something apart of he can't make out and each time he asks the older only vaguely tell him its better he stays out the frame

and his curiosity was nothing but a burden, yeonjun wouldn't let him in and he was getting irritated, if the danger was looming he might as well know what it is but yeonjun, was persistent and refuses any attempts by soobin

and at times when soobin forgot yeonjun was not your everyday person, he enjoys the time he spends with the older because melting ice creams and lazy days are better than wondering of the unknown

they were in soobin's sofa, yeonjun was already comfortable enough to let himself around, hands around soobin's waist and soobin leaning his head into yeonjun's half healed shoulder

"why did you leave me at the store when i could've been here all along?" yeonjun was offended when he learned soobin had an air conditioning in his room

"cramped" soobin half heartedly said, it was because he didn't want to hurt yeonjuns feeling that he's still skeptical of the older

"bullshit"

"you know why" soobin sighed pinching the bridge of yeonjun's nose "wouldn't it be funny if the camera just caught me sneaking you out at night"

"yerin needs to budget the store more then" the older snorted, and soobin kinda did agree to it

"had you ever fallen in love?" soobin didn't knew why he said that, but the question slipped from his lips

yeonjun pauses for a minute and then smiles a little, lips curving at the tip before falling straight back into a forgein expression "used to, but now its long forgotten"

"is something you do.... just...too dangerous for one?" soobin's curiousity kicks in and he almost swallowed everything back

" you could say so, actually" yeonjun looked back at soobin and did a airy empty chuckle "whats with the questions? you lonely juliet?"

and with that all of his curiosity melts away and he hits yeonjun in the chest

one he could keep the questions for later, as for two he could always figure things out later too

he and yeonjun lazy the day away at night when yeonjun finally reached something from his pockets of the hoodie

soobin's eye didn't miss it, it was a silver bracelet from the accessories section of the store and he loudly slapped yeonjuns thigh glaring at him "hey! you shouldn't stole it!"

yeonjun could only stick his tongue out as his hands pass on the bracelet to soobin's hands "keep it, im sure nobody even cares it was dusty on the racks"

"and for what?" soobin had a puzzled look on his face

"i figure im leaving soon, so i just want to make sure i am memorable in your mind and still occupy your big head" the older laugh, but soobin sit still

somehow he couldn't find something in him that yeonjun's time is limited

five days was like everything he never felt before, and it was crazy

what was yeonjun's motives?

unknowingly soobin had led himself astray far too long that he didn't notice he had his everything underneath him and he was scared to reach it out

it was filled with something soobin yearned before but he was scared, because it was the line between dangerous and reality

he has to face it

it was love

and soobin doomed himself deeper, than he needs to be

Oh, the things I did

Just so I could call you minе

The things you did

Well, I hope I was your favorite crime

soobin didn't knew what was the reason he woke up so early the next day but all things for sure yeonjun wasn't there anymore

with the swift movement he quickly grabbed his jacket and ranned towards the door, he prayed he prayed so bad that yeonjun had gone back to the store since he didn't left anything at the apartment

he feels the dangle of the bracelet around his wrists, the two little crescents hanging off the knot perfectly, yeonjun had placed it upon him while he was dozing off he vividly recalls

when his foot reaches the front door of the store he saw yerin and beomgyu's confused look, but yerin had a strong look on her face while beomgyu could only cast downcast look on his face

something is already at the turmoil, and yeonjun still have a day left with him

he dashed to the backroom beomgyu and yerin following him behind with yerin yelling at the back of his skull that he couldn't really make out

and beomgyu is maybe right, he should've just let yeonjun go

he should've just let him rot to die, but his heart has been telling him something else

when he opened the backroom door where yeonjun is staying, his chest feels very light and he could let off a small sign of relief

yeonjun was at the corner of the room, eyes wide open when he could see the trio by the door smiling apologetically "sorry i didn't tell you i left early"

"its fine, its fine" soobin almost slurred on his words, slapping himself internally he was relived everything's okay

yeonjun is okay

but yerin and beomgyu was just another bystander, not knowing what's happening, or so that's what he had thought

"we need to talk, all of you. immediately." the oldest of them all demanded her hair loosely untied as soobin gulped "now!"

they all followed yerin to her small office and she quickly locked door shoving soobin into the chair and beomgyu next to her desk, she had a strong unnerving glare to yeonjun

"had you all thought i was born yesterday?" she coldly spitted

"im sorry" soobin could only offer, and it makes him feel stupid

"this is not the problem soobin, for if you have to hide a boyfriend i could've care less but this, this! do you know what danger you bought us upon into?!" yerin raises her voice and soobin pupils dilated a little

it was something else, she never expressed anything more than frantic than this, but he could tell she knew something more he couldn't tell

yeonjun was there, in the sidelines feeling scrutinized by yerin as he had seen this coming, he looked at soobin and mouthed a small sorry as his boss continued on about something he couldn't really quite catching on

yerin mentioned danger so he had assumed everything worse is to come

the danger had finally make itself known when yerin slides a card to her table and a newspaper, the card contains the local police number but what comes next punched the air out of soobin's lungs

the words was clear as he reads it along the lines of 'massive massacre' and 'unknown groups of domestic crime plannings' as the image on the newspaper showed a gruesome aftermath of a bloody explosion and blurred scenery of horrors at  one of downtown's main governing office which is just 4 hours away from where they were, and he refused to see it

yeonjuns face was plastered on the newspaper, and a cctv image of him running away from the scene on the small parts of the article, in the same clothing soobin had met him

everything slowed down, all his senses. how can he be so clueless? sure he never watch the damn fucking tv anyway but that still doesn't excuse his naivety

"how could you?" yerin is now almost in hysterics when beomgyu sat the distressed woman down "and you all have been hiding it from me, you!" she pointed her finger at yeonjun "whatever you want just take it! just don't hurt soobin"

"i would never." yeonjun immediately retaliate her accusation, he pulled the head of his hoodie down finally getting caught "soobin"

soobin couldn't say anything because well, his curiosity finally got killed and everything was thrown into his face without a stop

"please just listen to me" yeonjun begged and god how soobin hated every thing about it, even at the face of death he was still willing to give in

yeonjun then had explained himself despite beomgyu threatening to call the cops, it took all of yeonjun and a little bit of soobin to let him explain although he himself was doubting himself

why he gave yeonjun so many chances?

yeonjun was just simply a disposal someone thrown into the bin to be blamed, but he had told it was always like that and he never have anything against it for he said it is his fate to be thrown like that

and soobin was enraged by how yeonjun was too accepting of his fate

he was furious that he's too kind

he wanted yeonjun to be selfish, but he couldn't tell why

those 4 days got soobin acting up all with confusing feelings, and he was upset he couldn't tell what was going on inside his head

"ill be leaving tomorrow." yeonjun said softly and soobin got into a blur, it was the bubbles bursting down his chest getting him all worked up

"will you be okay?" he pathetically ask even when beomgyu disapproves of his demeanor

"i'll try"

It's bittersweet to think about the damage that we'd do
'Cause I was goin' down, but I was doin' it with you

every moments left he had with yeonjun spins into something he couldn't tell, but he has already tell himself that maybe swallowing a pride himself wasn't too bad

yeonjun can feel it too, but the words remain unspoken that they both hated themselves they couldn't say anything about it

soobin still feel unfair in just days he knows, and don't know a thing about yeonjun and yeonjun was already starting to drift away

"hey"

"hm?" yeonjun looked up at soobin who was giving him a small brown lunch box, the older was still glad while soobin gave it to him with a assuring grin

"beomgyu is mad at you so bad but he...he somehow still feel glad you came" soobin sat next to yeonjun sighing

"well, i suppose he likes me after all" he smiled at the box "what's this?"

"something for the way" soobin hesitantly speaks, he dreaded the last words but he must accepts it now

the final day is here and the once unkempt room is now neatly made, yeonjun gestures at soobin's wrist asking for where put the bracelet

"oh that....i" he shyly raised his right hand, lowering down the sleeve showing it to yeonjun much to the older delight

and he sure did ending up leaving a big mark to yeonjun

"yeonjun i" soobin nervously speak his sweat was slowly downing on his pale soft skin

soobin thinks all of his decisions was stupid, he told himself that he makes impulsive decision easily

but he couldn't think straight, yeonjun was somehow all over his mind leaving so many footprints already

he thought to himself why couldn't he just leave yeonjun that night? why couldn't he just let him die and spare the details

his mind was racing, he bit his bottom lip

"can i come?" he spoke the words, closing his eyes knowing for whatever is coming rejection was inevitable and dejection is on his way

but something else had came in the picture and soobin wasn't ready for it

"are you sure?..." yeonjun eyes was wide but hopeful, like the first time he seen soobin those hopeful eyes never died down

its really unfair that fate is so cruel to yeonjun that he was nothing but running for a fool's errands all the time, but soobin wanted to make sure yeonjun is alright all the time he's doing it

and he's taking it now

"im sure"

yeonjun didn't say anything more, and soobin too didn't.

quietness is always cold, but somehow this one's warm

But I say that I hate you with a smile on my face
Oh, look what we became

yerin screamed when a stranger barged into the store aiming at yeonjun, the red haired ducked in time when soobin could only gasp in horror watching everything unfolds, beomgyu on the floor holding his bleeding hand

apparently cruel enough, somebody was not too happy that yeonjun left a trail too big that everyone noticed, soobin told yerin to hide and he wishes beomgyu was smart enough to just slide away from the scene

thankfully the store was closing down so nobody had really sensed the uneeded commotions and guests, yeonjun wrestled with the stranger for the knife and soobin sees and opening

he knocked down one rack, pilling everything down to both yeonjun and the stranger he hoped yeonjun could gain the upper hand, when he saw the endless knacks finished falling upon them yeonjun was already ontop of the man and the knife painted red

he ranned his finger across the man as small splatter of red jumped into yeonjun's face, he dropped the knife on the floor, and breathed heavily

"yeonjun"

the older looked at soobin his eyes frenzy, this wasn't like anything soobin had pictured of what yeonjun can do, the older reaches out to soobin's hands and ranned off the store without looking back

soobin is sure the camera had caught them, he sure caught yerin and beomgyu's panicked screaming faces as soobin is taken away

but this is what he wanted does it not?

both of them ranned ranned and ranned soobin couldn't be sure where yeonjun had led them but once they stopped he couldn't shake the worry off

"are you hurt?" he scanned for any injuries on yeonjun and notices his shoulders was bleeding again, he unzipped his backpack ready to take some gloves but yeonjun's strong grip stop him

"yeonjun-"

"you need to go back soobin now damnit." the words was ice to soobin's ears, he was prickled by it

"what do you mean i have to go back?" his angry eyes and chest rising up and down from the viscously harsh running

"soobin, you have a family, a friend and everything ahead of you, you possibly can't just leave all that behind right? think about this clearly now." yeonjun sounded very calm, so so calm it tensed soobin even more

he hates how yeonjun is right

always hate it.

"please soobin you need to go back, you'd be done and they're not gonna go easy on you either if you're with me, i do not want to put you through that, not you."

danger has always been soobin's company when he's stubborn, but yeonjun couldn't see that

"but you-" soobin tried to fight back and not noticing his throat was lumping, he hated being seen so pathetically like this

"i know" yeonjun cupped soobin's cheeks and his eyes was just the same as earlier hopeful and filled with sincerity "this is my choice, and i have to live with it."

he went in closer, soobin surrendered himself to the reality

and it was tearing everything up

their lips was just mixing in slowly perfectly fine, something soobin didn't know he had craved, if fate was cruel then the universe was sinister in soobin's eyes

they weren't making things easy, two sides of a same coin that can't completely meet yet matches

when they let go, soobin had to suck in the salty tears yeonjun had been so afraid to see brushing his cheeks.

"ill be back, i promise."

soobin hold on into it, even if it ends in bitterness

yeonjun then slowly fades away from his eyes, he could not tell what was the feeling when the bubbles are long gone and he felt very confused

confused on everything

soobin looked at the bracelet and he lets himself known to the authorities with their distant lights, with a broken chime of sadness.

it had to be done

the danger had left

but soobin yearned for it to be back.

Oh, the things I did

Just so I could call you mine

Oh, the things you did

Well, I hope I was your favorite crime

soobin didn't remember how long he was in the room they eventually gave up but not without telling him they'll still be supervising each of his movements, and by the time he left the sun was already rising again, he yawned softly back into his own car.

its been a week since yeonjun disappeared without any traces, and soobin had grown numb to it, his heart never made it clear what he had been feeling but he's just a ghost walking among society as he tells himself

the streets was quiet, he didn't wanted to go back to his apartment since the police had deemed he might be hiding something there so he didn't really wanna return to a messy unorganized living space no, he had been living back to his parents

he couldn't tell anything to his parents and simply said it was just a captive situation even when it leaves a sour feeling on his tongue to say it

he couldn't stand on saying it or finding yeonjun guilty, at night he would only think about the older anxiety creeping him up wether has his wounds has healed or what not, he was scared

soobin thinks he's being foolish, so foolish he hoped to see yeonjun just dropping by his apartment sneaking in

but the days dragged longer soobin wasn't sure what is he waiting for anymore

he had long ignore the thought of looking for yeonjun for the older wouldn't want him to risk himself

soobin hates it

and he hates how his pillow have to be the bearer of his unsaid tears because at times he feels so suffocated by everything

but still, hope lingers.

Your favorite crime

Your favorite crime

soobin wasn't really moving on even after months later, but he had regained his senses to be working back at his old job, he's glad yerin never did confront him about anything again

beomgyu turned off the tv once he had enough of hearing the news, he spotted soobin driving into the driveway smiling tiredly upon walking in

"hi guys, how was everything?" he softly asks putting his stuff away at his usual cashier station while yerin is sitting on next to it reading a magazine

"barely anyone here" beomgyu pouted a little and soobin feels so sorry he ruffled the boy's long hair "im surprised yerin hasn't fired you yet"

truth be said yerin was still furious about the whole ordeal but then when they bought in how broken and devastated soobin looks she had to back down and sigh

she knows, beomgyu knows.

"no news from him yet?" she monotonously stopped reading looking at soobin before the taller shake his head "nope"

"hm .. and when i was interested in him" beomgyu kind of feel remorse for soobin, but dismisses the thought right away

"by the way there's a package addressed to you this morning, i dont know from who though" yerin told soobin before making her exit to her office and beomgyu wiggled his brows "ooh secret admirer"

"man shut up"

once soobin hits break time, he bought the small package to the small kitchen area of the store, sitting on the chair placing it on the table

using a small box cutter he ripped it open, and with a sight that he knows what's coming a small bitter smile creeps in

its another silver bracelet, but with stars dangling from the ropes, yeonjun had took two bracelet that day if only the older wasn't so bad with hiding stuff

soobin held the bracelet dearly into his chest, and supresses the urge to loudly spill his months of raw emotions, but one drop had spilled and that is enough.

yeonjun's familiar scent was around it, soobin almost snorted by how annoying the older is for trying to be symbolic.

'see? i told you ill be right back.'  the letter said that comes along it

and everything ignites back into soobin, he's still has anxieties but he will make sure that he will wait for him to comeback

he wasn't sure how long he's gonna stood by his ground

but he was certain, that danger was around the corner again

yet he's not scared about it

he becomes fond of it slowly by slowly

just like he did with him, like the night that dumb naive store worker had welcome some bleeding random man in, and it ...work into some interesting feelings.

and he's sure, when it comes back he will there ready to greet it with open hands.

as long as yeonjun is there too, of course.

for they still had so many things to know about

but soobin, being stubborn as he is he will wait and so do his heart

he will wait.

Cause, baby, you were mine
