Work Text:
The snow is swirling in the lantern's light.
I sit still, letting it hide me from sight.
How long should I keep the candle lit?
Would this fog melt to let us meet?
Darling, could you hug me close and tell
How soon I'd gasp my farewell?
My eyes are open, lips squeezed tight.
Nobody knows how numb my heart's at night.
Ten winters I'd been waiting and praying
That one day you'd say you're staying.
Ten times I'd seen the starfall's beam.
But I hadn't dared to voice my dream.
