“Just calm down y/n” yeonhee said to you as the two of you were in the elevator. “How can I not freak out? You know how awkward I am around new people , and to top it off they’re famous” you said when the elevator dinged signaling that you had reached the floor. “Y/n they act like normal people please just try to be cool” , “I am cool what do you mean” you rolled your eyes just causing your best friend to laugh.
The two of you were headed over to nct dreams dorms for a movie night that they had invited you two to. Yeonhee was one of the stylist working at SM Entertainment and she had gotten closer to the boys over time.
“Let me just text chenle to let him know we’re here” she said stopping in front of the door. A couple minutes later the door opened revealing chenle with his phone in his hand . “Hey come in” he smiled , yeonhee hugged him , you followed behind not really knowing what to do . “Hey Y/n it’s nice to see you again” he said moving in for a hug which you returned thankfully less awkwardly than you thought you’d be .
“YEONHEEEEE~” a high pitched yell pierced your ears. You walked into the living room to witness your best friend being suffocated in a hug between Jaemin and Haechan . You just smiled and waved politely before taking a seat on the couch next to Jeno who was too busy on his phone to notice you .
“Hi yeonhee” jisung said as he walked in also hugging her before shyly smiling at you . Your best friend was always this social butterfly while you were more shy and often never really said much .
“Hi y/n” a deep voice said, causing you to jump and you turned to see Jeno who was now chuckling lightly . “Chill y/n I don’t bite” he said and you now giggled . “No uhm- I know it’s just I didn’t expect you to greet me” you said as you shifted your eyes around the room to avoid eye contact . “Why wouldn’t I greet you ?” He smirked , you just shrugged not actually knowing the answer .
You helped Jaemin with the snacks in the kitchen making some small talk , “so y/n , are you studying ?” He asked as you were waiting for the popcorn . “Uhm yea I’m actually studying fashion , that’s how yeonhee and I became so close” you explained and he smiled politely before continuing to rummage around the kitchen for a bowl . Great and now it’s awkward you thought to yourself , “I’m gonna take these inside” you said gesturing you the sodas and he nodded.
You walked inside to find most of the couch occupied except a spot next to Jeno. You awkwardly made your way over to it placing the sodas down . “Y/n what do you wanna watch , these idiots can’t make up their minds” Jeno asked looking up at you . “I’m telling you horror is the best option” Haechan yelled and you shivered . Jenos eyes remained on you “I’m not a fan of horrors but it doesn’t matter” you said , “okay so not a horror” Jeno said . Haechan immediately began complaining. “No no it’s okay we can really watch whatever I was just saying” you trailed off a bit towards the end as you assumed no one was listening anymore when Jeno turned to face you . “You’ll be okay it won’t be too scary” he smiled at you .
Jaemin walked in handing everyone bowls of popcorn , “I’ll sit on the floor with Chenle ” you offered but Jaemin shrugged you off before smirking at Jeno . “It’s okay keep Jeno company “ and you giggled slightly confused but you chose to ignore it .
Renjun turned on the movie and you spent the next 2 hours covering your eyes or hiding behind the pillow in your arms. The only thing that made it bearable was Jeno checking on you every couple minutes which you found super sweet.
Finally the movie was over and you turned to see that Yeonhee had fallen asleep on Haechan’s lap , you frowned lightly but quickly adjusted . “I’ll take her to the spare room , y/n you’re welcome to stay over as well” Haechan said but you shook your head leaving everyone confused. “My parents would not be happy so I should probably just head home” you said grabbing your bag .
“Let me drive you” Jeno said standing up but you immediately refuse , “no it’s late, I’ll just call a cab, and I don’t wanna inconvenience anyone” , “it’s late and that exactly why you shouldn’t go alone , it’s no problem I’ll drop you off “ Jeno now insisted grabbing his keys and you nodded knowing you didn’t really want to be taking a cab home this late .
You and Jeno stood awkwardly in the elevator on your way down . “Do I make you uncomfortable?” He asked abruptly and you stood frozen before turning to face him . “No why?” , “because you never speak around me and you always seem so surprised when I speak to you” he said . “I’m just really shy” you said and he nodded . “There’s no need to be I like hanging out with you , we all do actually “ he said . You couldn’t help but smile slightly.
The two of you got into his car just as it started raining . “Thank you so much for taking me home” you said now extra grateful due to the weather. “It’s no problem , I just wanted to know you got home safely” he said as you drove down the street before turning onto the highway.
A couple minutes later it started raining really badly to the point where even you could barely see the road . “I’m gonna pull over until the rain chills out before we crash,” Jeno said before pulling over to the side of a quieter road.
It was kinda soothing to hear the rain but you couldn’t help but feel bad that it was so late . “I’m sorry you have to be out so late just to take me home” you said to Jeno who looked up from his phone . “Stop apologizing , I told you I like hanging out with you and also I probably wouldn’t havent gotten much sleep if I was worried about you getting home okay” he said you you blushed a little before looking down . He chuckle , “you’re cute when you’re shy” , you looked up surprised. “You’re always cute” you mumbled and he raised his eyebrow at you . “I couldn’t hear you”, he said but you just chuckled and shook your head . “You’re so quiet , what goes on in that head all the time” he asked.
The two of you spent the better half of the next hour talking and getting to know each other a bit better . “So wait Yeonhee likes Haechan ?” Jeno asked as he burst out laughing . “Yup she has this massive crush on him” , “that’s hilarious Hyuck has liked her for so long as well we should deffs set them up” he said and you agreed . The rain continued to poor at the heavy pace it was , “and you ? Who’s your favourite out of the seven of us ?” Jeno asked and you laughed . “Jisung maybe cause we’re both really quiet or Jaemin” you shrugged .
You looked over to see Jeno pouting , “and what about me ?” He asked, crossing his arms like a small child . You were instantly at a loss for words , there was no way you could tell Jeno you like him . Only because unlike the other members you really did have a crush on him . “You’re okay “ you shrugged and he laughed , “guess I have to work harder and wining you over” he said .
He placed his arm on the back of your seat before relaxing back slightly. You were turned looking at him taking in his appearance , his messy hair , his glasses the way his arm muscles flexed as he held onto the seat . “It’s not nice to stare y/n” he said before looking at you . “I-I wasn’t staring” you quickly said covering your face with your hand . Jeno reached up and moved your hands , “you should never his this pretty face” he said .
You sat silently , the proximity of your bodies causing both the tension and temperature in the car to rise. His face was really close to yours and for the first time you noticed how perfect his skin was even with our make up or how his eyes just had the slightest sparkle in them . Oh his eyes , his eyes hadn’t left yours expect for now when he found himself staring at your beautiful lips contemplating every decision at least twice .
He looked back into your eyes , “can I kiss you ?” He asked not wanting to make you feel uncomfortable as he knew how shy you were . Your body responded before your words could and you felt yourself nodding your head.
He leaned closer , slowly, giving you plenty of time to back out but he was all too glad when you didn’t and he could feel his lips meet yours finally. “Why’d you stop?” You almost blurted out immediately wanting to smack yourself after it happened. Jeno smirked before looking at the rain pouring down the window . “Y/n I only stopped because I don’t wanna rush you or force you into doing anything you’re not ready for” he said and you immediately softened . “Really ?” , “really I’ve actually liked you for a while but I haven’t had the guts to tell you and this was our first time alone so I thought it was the perfect time” he said , “I like you too” you said and his face lit up.
Before you could even register what was happening he had pulled you back in for a another kiss. This time much longer and much more intense . His lips moved slowly , waiting for you to respond and when you did it felt perfect . He brought your bottom lip into his mouth biting it lightly before sucking it . You couldn’t help but smile before you sat up onto your knees trying to make the position more comfortable. Jeno felt you move and pulled back to look at you .
“What do you wanna do ?” He asked and you instantly felt awkward again . You sat contemplating your next move while Jeno patiently waited while looking at you taking in your beauty. “How about we just keep going and you stop me when you feel uncomfortable?” Jeno suggest as he could sense your worry. You smiled , “okay” , “do you wanna stay like this or ?” He asked.
You honestly didn’t know what else to do since you’d never been in this situation before, “you could either come sit on my lap or we could move to the back ?” You bit your lip , “can we move to the back ?” You asked shyly and he smirked at your innocence but chose to not comment . “Yea we can , go first I’ll come back after” he said .
You climbed over the seat and sat at the back tossing your phone and jacket onto the front seat , Jeno joined you a bit later. You chuckled at him trying to move , his taller figure making it more difficult and causing him to hit his head on the roof .
He turned to smile at you while rubbing his head a bit. “I’m a bit nervous” you admitted as he placed his arm on your shoulder . “Don’t be , we’re going at your pace here , I’m okay with whatever you wanna do , even if that’s just talk” he said and your heart felt like it could melt .
Jeno sat back assuming you’d continue talking but you took him by surprise when you sat on his lap . “It’s this okay ?” You asked and he chuckled . “I should be asking you that” he said and you hid your face in his chest . Jeno slowly snaked his arm around your waist hugging you . You peaked up to see him with his eyes closed just enjoying the moment .
You quickly sat up and placed a kiss on his neck , his eyes shot open before he calmed down again. His eyes darkened a bit as he bit his lip. You couldn’t wait anymore you loved the way it felt to kiss him and you immediately rejoined your lips .
This time the kiss felt more relaxed and comfortable as his hands caressed your back lightly while your fingers threaded through his hair. You could feel his hands slide a bit lower slowly moving onto your ass , he waited to see if you’d tell him to stop but instead you rocked down onto him slightly causing him to let out a groan.
