Chapter Text
Dear Diary,
Samurai just met you today. He doesn't know what your name is, or your gender, or if you even like him, but you are his diary now. He was told having a diary would help him not be bored while he's in the hospital. Samurai doesn't mind a new friend, thankfully. Will you be Samurai's new book friend? He hopes you will be.
He was told he could write all of his thoughts and experiences in you, so he'll do just that. Samurai doesn't talk much. He's afraid someone will judge his words, or he simply thinks he doesn't need to say anything a lot of the time. Finding the right words is always hard for him. But he thinks he's really good at writing!
Samurai will start by introducing his diary to all of his friends by writing about them.
Samurai has a lot of friends. One of his closest friends is Cole. He makes very good music, but he thinks he doesn't. Samurai is always there to support him, though. One time, he showed Samurai a beat so "lit" (that's a word that means cool!) that he picked Cole up and jammed with him while levitating. That's how cool his music is. He also has another friend that Samurai is pretty sure he has a crush on. Her name is Nicole. Samurai always giggles when he saws how short Cole is compared to her. They also have very similar names, which he thinks is funny too. Samurai doesn't know what love is like...but maybe one day he will.
But that's not his only friend! Samurai has a lot of friends. He is friends with too very strong children named Hailey and Logan, who he believes has the potential to become strong samurais just like Samurai. Everyday, he trains them by having them push a box of beans back and forth while he jumps over it. Sometimes Samurai gets launched into the sun, and while it hurts a little he doesn't mind too much. He is also friends with one of the doctors, who he thinks is named Doctor Page. Like a book page! He finds that funny too, cause Page is always reading. She's smart, and Samurai think's smart people are always great.
Samurai can say he has one more friend though. But...he isn't sure. Samurai has a roommate everyone calls Insomniac, because he can't sleep at night. Samurai doesn't like naming people after something so serious though. He always seems so angry that he can't sleep...so Samurai just calls him Buffman. Buffman always tells me not to call him Buffman, but he doesn't know what else to call him! He refuses to call him any rude names...but anyways, Samurai really wants to be his friend. They both have swords! And he's very good at using his sword, too. But Buffman doesn't want to spar with Samurai yet. He doesn't know why.
Samurai almost forgot to tell his diary about what happened today! Sorry diary, it's late and Samurai forgets stuff easily. But a lot did happen today, and he wants to say it! Like how this morning, he tried to make some food for Buffman. He took it...but Samurai didn't see him eat it. The food was gone by the end of the day though. Samurai also spent a lot of time in the garden room with Logan and Hailey. Hailey told him a lot about the different types of flowers they, and cool facts about all of them. For such a tiny human, she is very smart. And you know Samurai admires smart people. Then we wanted to play out bean game, but our box of beans was missing. Samurai was so sad, he almost cried. But Samurai is strong. He cried in secret so nobody saw him, like a true strong man.
Then Samurai and the kids went to ask Dr. Page where the beans went, and she said Nicole took them. But Samurai didn't want to interrupt Nicole while she was working! So, Samurai got Cole to be a spy for him. He ordered his coffee as usual, and asked about the beans. Nicole had apparently used the beans to make more coffee...Samurai was heartbroken. He loved that box like a brother. And Samurai really loves his brothers. So he cried some more, but he forgot to hide while he did it, so Logan and Hailey got really sad. But then they found a replacement for the box of beans, so Samurai could still train with them! They would use a box of seeds they found in the garden room instead. Samurai was so happy, he found the energy in him to jump a hundred times over that box of seeds before he got shot into the stratosphere because he didn't jump fast enough.
And now that it's nighttime, Samurai is sitting down and writing all of this to you. He's going to try and write in you everyday, so you don't get lonely. Samurai cares about all of his friends, including his diary friend. Now Samurai is going to try to go to sleep, but he's worried he'll have a nightmare. Samurai never likes nightmares...especially when they wake him up and he has to prevent himself from crying about it. Buffman would probably be really annoyed if his attempts to sleep were disturbed.
Anyways, goodnight diary! He hopes you sleep good tonight, and he'll write more in the morning.
