Where was it?
Where could he have possibly hidden it?
Diluc dug through the kitchen cabinets, pushing aside dishes to press his hands against the solid wood backing of the wall, feeling for any notch or give that would indicate a secret compartment of some kind. It didn't have to be big at all, which was the worst part.
It just had to be large enough to hold his Vision.
"Honey?" A voice called out. Diluc stiffened, freezing in place. "Is something wrong?"
Fuck .
"N-no…" Diluc turned around, his gaze fixing on the blue-haired man leaning against the kitchen doorway. "Nothing's wrong, baby. You're back so soon." He mumbled, blinking when Kaeya pushed off the doorway to enter the kitchen. Kaeya circled the kitchen island slowly, his gaze on Diluc. The island was scattered with various ingredients for dinner tonight, The Cavalry Captain setting a hefty bundle of Lotus Root among them. It was a small errand Diluc had insisted he go on earlier today. It had taken more than Diluc had wanted to give to convince Kaeya to leave him alone on one of his rare days off. His throat still ached, though from pain or shame he wasn't sure anymore.
"You've always been bad at lying, 'Luc." Kaeya's tone was low. "What are you looking for?"
"I...the one dish...the one you brought back from Liyue with the peach blossoms on it," Diluc mumbled, quickly turning back around to face the cabinet. It was easier to lie to Kaeya when he didn't have to look him in the eye. "I wanted to use it for dinner tonight, but I can't find it." He paused when Kaeya looped an arm around his waist, fingers spreading over his stomach possessively. Kaeya brushed a kiss over his temple. Diluc grits his teeth, grabbing at a random dish. "It's fine, I can just use this one." He said, trying to pull away from Kaeya's grip.
"It's over here, baby," Kaeya replied, opening the next cabinet to reveal assorted dishes. He plucked the large soup bowl from the cabinet, placing it gently in Diluc's hands. Diluc quickly turned away, setting it down in the sink to wash any dust off of it.
It was a pretty dish, something light and finely made. Kaeya had a habit of bringing things home to fill the space Diluc occupied with bold and interesting things. Diluc had thought it was a waste of time and space, had argued with Kaeya over it initially. But that had been before Kaeya had restricted him to their home, stealing away his Vision and sealing him in with columns of ice so thick that Diluc had broken three knives trying to carve his way out by the time Kaeya had returned.
It'd been impossible to lie about his escape attempt. Kaeya had been so angry with him. Angry that Diluc would try to leave their home. Leave him. Diluc swallowed thickly, flinching when he felt a cool hand brush against the back of his neck.
"Why are you nervous, darling?" Kaeya asked gently, his thumb rubbing soothing circles along the curve of Diluc's neck.
You. It's always you .
"I...just want you to like dinner is all," Diluc answered, unable to hide the tremor in his voice. He changed tactics, his tone softening. "I don't want you to not like it after I sent you out to get the ingredients," he admitted quietly. It was true. He wanted to do anything possible to avoid Kaeya's temper.
Kaeya's demeanor shifted immediately. He cooed, wrapping his arms around Diluc's waist and nuzzling into the crook of his neck. Diluc's stomach rolled.
"Baby, no. It was nothing, honest." He replied sweetly, kissing along the bare skin of Diluc's collar. Diluc swallowed the knot forming in his throat.
"Really?" Diluc asked, turning to look over his shoulder at Kaeya. The man nodded his head, kissing him affectionately.
"Of course, it's a bit different than normal, hmm? You're not usually one to try to cook Liyue cuisine." He pointed out.
It was because gathering the Lotus Root had meant Kaeya had needed to travel for almost a day, giving Diluc ample time to try and locate his Vision so he could burn his way out of here.
"I just wanted to try something different...I just...I get bored." Diluc answered, looking back to the dish in his hands. He set it down next to the sink. He moved to grab a pot from the rack to actually take up the pretense of cooking, blinking when Kaeya caged him in against the counter.
"Bored with your home life?" Kaeya asked curiously. Diluc hesitated, unsure how to respond.
"Don't you get tired of me cooking the same things over and over again?" Diluc asked. Kaeya laughed gently.
"That's why I bring you home delicious meals every now and then, hmm? New foods for you to try out. I know you get bored in here, but it's necessary." Kaeya murmured. "You understand, right?"
Diluc stared up at him, into the one eye that reflected so much and yet so little. Affection and adoration were there, but also something dark. Something that threatened to come out if Diluc went a step over the line Kaeya had drawn around him. Diluc glanced away.
"I get why you did it." He mumbled, letting Kaeya kiss him again. It'd been a simple scrap with the Fatui gone wrong. Diluc still had the scar on his back to prove it. He'd awoken here, locked away and at Kaeya's mercy.
He'd fought, of course, and that darkness inside Kaeya had welled up into something that Diluc didn't want to remember, no matter how deeply it was imprinted onto his mind. A warning, a tale of caution not to upset his brother in any way. It had been far worse than whatever the Fatui had planned for him. And Diluc knew that if Kaeya found evidence of his current escape attempt that the punishment would be worse enough to have him bedridden for the next week.
He flinched when Kaeya's tongue licked into his mouth, clearly aware of his distracting thoughts. Diluc grunted when Kaeya pressed him insistently against the sink, his thigh slotting in between Diluc's legs. Diluc turned his head sharply, slapping a hand into Kaeya's chest.
"W-wait, dinner!" He gasped as Kaeya mouthed over his neck. "The...the ingredients will go bad...Kaeya…!"
"It's fine...I'll get more." Kaeya chased his lips. "I want my sweetheart to give me a kiss, is that too much to ask?" He pouted, his eye gleaming. Diluc relented, letting Kaeya's lips meet his. Kaeya kissed him eagerly, talented enough that Diluc was distracted by his clever tongue. He moaned softly, squirming when Kaeya brought him closer to rut against him. Diluc squirmed in his grip, pulling away again.
"Kaeya, wait, please," Diluc murmured, looking away. Kaeya tried to kiss him again and Diluc turned his face away.
"Yeah?" Kaeya replied lowly.
"We can do...that...later…" Diluc looked away. "I want to do this first." Because any barrier between him and Kaeya's plans for him tonight was welcome.
"Okay, baby. I'll let you have your fun." Kaeya pulled away with one more kiss. "I'm going to go wash up, then I'll be back down for dinner."
"Alright," Diluc replied, watching from the corner of his eye as Kaeya disappeared through the kitchen door. He turned his attention to dinner, his actions methodical as his mind wandered to any place he could have missed or overlooked. It wasn't safe to search the house while Kaeya was present. Even when he was asleep, he was liable to wake up at any moment, as light of a sleeper that he was. Diluc would have to wait the next few days before trying to send him out again. At least he was granted a brief reprieve when Kaeya went to work, though it was often that Kaeya left work in the early afternoon to return home as quickly as possible.
Diluc stared into the merrily bubbling soup, contemplating his options. He jumped when he felt arms circle his waist.
"Do you need a taste tester?" Kaeya asked, pressing a kiss to his cheek, his hair damp where it brushed against Diluc's jaw. Diluc paused, before spooning up a bit of the soup into his ladle and offering it over his shoulder. Kaeya blew on the spoon gently before taking a sip, a smile spreading across his face. "Ah, 'Luc, this could give the chefs in Liyue a run for their money." Kaeya praised eagerly.
"Really?" Diluc asked, his brow furrowing as he tasted the soup again. It felt like it was missing something.
"Well, it could run, but it probably wouldn't win." Kaeya teased, kissing his temple. "Try adding a bit of sugar to cut through the salt."
"Fine," Diluc grumbled under his breath as Kaeya pulled away to grab the jar of sugar tucked into the cabinet. He let Kaeya sprinkle in some sugar, stirring the soup gently. He watched as Kaeya returned the sugar to the cabinet, only to move towards Diluc again. "Can you set the table?" Diluc asked quickly, glancing away.
"Of course," Kaeya replied after a moment, moving away to do just that. Silence hung in the air between them, before Kaeya spoke again. "The weather is clear tonight. The stars shone brightly on my trip home."
"It must be nice to see them every now and then," Diluc replied before he could catch himself. He froze when he heard the sound of plates clattering behind him.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Kaeya finally asked. Diluc's gaze fixed on the soup, wondering exactly how much time he'd have to hide if he flung the pot at Kaeya. No, that would have been worse. Kaeya would be angrier and-
He flinched as cool fingers slipped across the back of his neck, gripping possessively.
"Answer me, Diluc."
"I...I'm not allowed outside." Diluc replied quietly, grunting when he was pulled away from the stove. The ladle clattered to the floor as Kaeya's arm wrapped tightly around his waist.
"And why's that?" Kaeya asked cooly.
"Because you won't let me-"
"Why?" Kaeya repeated sharply.
"B-because…"
"Because you'd run off without a second thought, wouldn't you?" Kaeya replied, turning to shove Diluc against the kitchen wall. Diluc grunted, catching himself with his hands before his head cracked against it. "As sweet as you act, the moment you got a chance you'd just run off and leave me."
"Yes," Diluc answered after a moment, gritting his teeth. Kaeya didn't respond, pulling away. Diluc turned around to see Kaeya turning off the burner on the stove. Kaeya looked at him, his gaze blank.
"Well?" He said coolly. "Better start running." Diluc blinked at him in confusion, flinching when Kaeya slammed the lid down onto the pot. "I said ' run '."
Diluc turned around, darting out the kitchen door to run into the hallway. He ran into the parlor, through the open doorway into the study, pausing to catch his breath as he hid behind the door. He held his breath when he heard Kaeya walking quietly through the parlor.
"Hiding already, 'Luc?" Kaeya called out, his footsteps fading away. Diluc let out a slow breath, leaning back against the wall of the study, his gaze looking around the study to see if he could find anything to use to defend himself with. His gaze drifted to the desk, wondering if Kaeya had left the letter opener in the drawer. He stepped forward towards the desk, catching a flash of movement out of the corner of his eye.
He dodged the first hand that lunged for him, hissing when Kaeya's other hand wrapped around his wrist. He swung his fist at the man, narrowly missing his jaw. Kaeya didn't, his strike scattering Diluc's thoughts. A hand tangled in his long hair, yanking him to his knees.
"You were always terrible at hide and seek," Kaeya lamented, twisting Diluc's face up to look at him. Diluc clawed at the fist in his hair, wincing when Kaeya only tugged harder.
"You were always good at hiding, but that's what I'd expect from a spy." Diluc bit out. Kaeya didn't respond for a long moment, the grip on Diluc's wrist tightening until Diluc writhed in his grip. "Stop…!" Diluc gasped.
"Fine," Kaeya replied, flinging his wrist away in favor of tightening his grip in Diluc's hair.
Diluc cursed and yelled, wincing when Kaeya gripped his hair tightly, yanking him along as he stumbled across the floor. His knees slammed painfully into the base of the stairs as Kaeya all but dragged him up the second floor and into their bedroom.
Kaeya flung him onto the bed, Diluc rolling onto his back, his hands going to block his face as Kaeya climbed on top of him. When Kaeya didn't hit him, he peered up at him from between his arms in confusion.
Kaeya stared down at him, his expression conflicted. Kaeya blinked at him when their gazes met, smiling at Diluc easily.
"Gonna behave now?" Kaeya asked him lowly.
"You're insane," Diluc hissed, flinching when Kaeya leaned back to assess him fully.
"Ah, but my suspicions aren't completely unwarranted. Why would my darling lover need to sneak around our own house?"
"I wasn't-"
"You weren't looking for this, were you?" Kaeya asked. Diluc stared as he pulled the Pyro Vision, his Pyro Vision from his lapel. "I had thought to hide it in the house, see how long it took for you to try and escape from me, but you worried me with your sly attempts to send me away. I couldn't risk giving you the whole day to yourself before I could return. You might have even swallowed your pride enough to run to the Knights of Favonius for help."
"I…" Diluc's gaze darted from his Vision to Kaeya's face. "You…"
"It was nice though, playing along with your little game. Being the sweet naive husband to his wife's cunning tricks."
Diluc stared up at him, his gaze flicking back to his Vision hardly a moment before he tried to snatch it out of Kaeya's hand. Kaeya yanked his arm away, tossing the Vision over his shoulder to clatter on the bedroom floor. Diluc shoved at him, trying to push him away, feet kicking roughly.
"Get off. Get off of me!" Diluc yelled, anger and shame fueling his fury. "Get off of me, you bastard!"
"Now, now, honey-" Kaeya grunted as Diluc elbowed his jaw sharply. He growled under his breath, one hand going to bury into Diluc's hair and yank his head back, baring the long, vulnerable line of his neck. Kaeya bit into it sharply, Diluc crying out underneath him.
"S-stop it!" Diluc clawed at him, his arms flailing to try and scratch out his eye. Kaeya snagged his wrist with one hand easily, releasing his grip on Diluc's hair to grab his other hand. "Let me go! I hate you!" Diluc yelled.
"I know, we have to work on that, don't we?" Kaeya answered back. He pinned Diluc's wrists to the bed, staring down at the man. Diluc was gasping underneath him, his face flushed with exertion. Diluc glared at him angrily, trying to bite Kaeya when he leaned in close once again. Kaeya leaned back sharply, his eye narrowing as his grip on Diluc's wrists tightened to the point of pain.
"S-stop it!" Diluc hissed.
"No," Kaeya replied easily, jerking Diluc's wrists up to the frame of their bed. There was a reason for the carved marble headboard inlaid with metal designs. It was sturdier than wood, strong enough to deal with Diluc's antics. Kaeya shifted his body weight, one knee coming up to pin Diluc's arm down under his weight. Kaeya plucked the silken cord neatly tied to the post of the bed free, a visual aid to remind Diluc of what happened when he misbehaved. Diluc really began to struggle when Kaeya reached for it, the knight quickly tying one wrist to the headboard before grabbing Diluc's other and tying it as well.
By the time he was done Diluc was panting underneath him, watching him with panicked eyes.
"You know what happens next, don't you?" Kaeya asked, stroking Diluc's cheek. He didn't try to bite him this time, clearly aware that he was on thin ice.
"Go away," Diluc ordered hoarsely, his voice cracking.
"Do you think you're in any position to order me around?" Kaeya asked lowly, affectionately. "You haven't been in charge since you got here, baby." Kaeya began to pull off his shirt, delighting in the way Diluc's gaze filled with alarm. "If you're good tonight though, we can go back to pretending tomorrow."
"S-stop it, don't!" Diluc began to panic.
"Hush, behave now, won't you? The more you behave the nicer I'll be."
"You're lying!"
"Am I?"
"Yes, you're a liar, a filthy liar!" Diluc yelled, twisting underneath him. Kaeya stared down at him quietly.
"Yes, I suppose that's the root of everything, isn't it? You think everything I say is a lie." He leaned down, pressing a kiss to Diluc's brow. "But you've been lying to me every day for the better part of two months, haven't you?"
"T-that's different!" Diluc snapped back.
"How exactly?" Kaeya questioned, tossing his shirt aside and going for the front of Diluc's pants. Diluc twisted and squirmed underneath him.
"Because you- stop -you would just get angry if I didn't!" Diluc hissed, digging his heels into the bed, trying to push up his hips to dislodge Kaeya from on top of him. It didn't work.
"Ah, so you were scared of me?" Kaeya asked.
"Of course…! After what you did…!" Diluc stilled underneath him, catching his breath. Kaeya stroked his cheek gently.
"Fear makes liars out of everyone." He said softly. Diluc glared up at him.
"What could you possibly fear right now? Me?" Diluc scoffed, turning his head away. "Do whatever you want." His voice wavered. "I just want it to be over already."
Kaeya stared down at him for a long moment, before leaning in to press soft kisses at his jaw, fingers tugging down Diluc's pants off of his legs. His underwear quickly followed, Diluc lying limply underneath him. Diluc's gaze was fixed off somewhere to the side, his expression distant.
Kaeya's hand wrapped around Diluc's limp cock, stroking it slowly. Diluc squirmed, his brow furrowing as he continued to ignore Kaeya's actions.
"I have plenty to fear," Kaeya murmured, drawing Diluc's attention. "And most of it revolves around you."
"Worried, ah, that I'll escape?" Diluc murmured. Kaeya smiled softly at him.
"You've already escaped me, haven't you?" He asked sadly. Diluc looked at him in confusion.
"You're crazy," he gasped, flinching when Kaeya's grip on his cock tightened.
"That'd make things so much simpler, wouldn't it?" Kaeya jerked him off slowly until Diluc was moaning through grit teeth. "Relax, baby."
"No," Diluc bit back. Kaeya sighed, pulling his hand away.
Diluc grunted as he was flipped over, panic setting in when he felt Kaeya's hands on his hips.
"Stop!"
"I wanted to soften you up first, but you don't feel like listening," Kaeya spoke up from behind him. "This hole knows how to listen though, doesn't it?"
"Don't you dare, you-" Diluc yelped when a slick finger pierced inside him. "S-stop-no, no!" He cried, hands scrambling for the headboard, trying to pull himself away from Kaeya's fingers as another was forced inside him.
"Oh, 'Luc. Imagine if you behaved, relaxed for me. If you were sweet then I could make you feel so much better."
"Get out! Get out!"
"Shh, there's no need to yell."
"I hate you!" Diluc screamed, gasping when Kaeya's fingers were pulled out. He tried to crawl away, twisting his hips from Kaeya's grip. He inhaled sharply when he felt something press against his hole. "No, stop!"
"Shh…'Luc," Kaeya murmured, groaning as he pressed in slowly. Diluc jerked against his grip, crying out as Kaeya slid into him.
"T-take it out!" Diluc gasped, trying to pull away. He whimpered when Kaeya pulled him closer, his cock shoving deeper inside. "Take it out! Stop!" He cried. Kaeya groaned above him, his hips thrusting forward. Diluc trembled underneath him, squeezing his eyes shut as Kaeya's thrusts grew longer and deeper. "Hurts...it hurts…!"
"Relax, baby, you have to relax," Kaeya replied, still inside him, his voice strained. Diluc tried to pull away, crying out when Kaeya pulled him back harshly. "I said to relax, Diluc. Not run."
"I-I can't," DIluc gasped, turning to bury his face into his arm. "I can't, I can't, I-"
"Shh, shhhh, breathe," Kaeya leaned down, pressing kissing against Diluc's shoulder blades. "Nice, deep breaths."
"Just take it out, please-"
"No."
"Please!" Diluc sobbed, shaking his head. "Please, I'm begging you. You like it." He choked when Kaeya shifted inside him. "Y-you like it when I b-beg, so please, take it out!"
"I don't, not when it's like this," Kaeya answered firmly, stroking the back of Diluc's neck. Diluc sobbed, shaking his head.
"I don't know what you want-"
"For you to breathe, nice and slow, just listen to what I'm telling you, Diluc. Don't think too hard about it." Kaeya answered, cooing when Diluc took a steadying breath in response. "That's right, see? That's what I want you to do. Just like that." He continued to stroke Diluc gently until his frantic breathing slowed, his body used to Kaeya's intrusion. Diluc trembled underneath him, small grunts escaping his mouth with every thrust. Kaeya pressed soothing kisses against the back of his neck. Diluc trembled and shook underneath him, his body rocking in time to Kaeya's thrusts. Kaeya trailed a hand over the pale expanse of Diluc's back, pushing his hair over one shoulder.
The scar from the Fatui's blade was there, an ugly gash on otherwise flawless skin. It filled Kaeya with a sense of anxiety as he folded himself over Diluc, feeling the warmth of his lover in his arms.
Diluc was murmuring under his breath. Kaeya caught his chin, tilting his face so he could look at him properly. Diluc's gaze was teary and distant, focusing on somewhere far away from this moment. Kaeya didn't force him back to reality. Let him hide away wherever he was. There were few places in Diluc's mind that Kaeya didn't exist, and every moment they stayed together they grew fewer still.
