Work Text:
Azusa was on her way back to Poirot from shopping when her attention has caught. She saw a flashy sign written in big red letters and it was full of hearts.
"Discover the first letter of your future husband's name" was written on the sign. "The first letter, only that? how can that help?", "it helps to discard suitors, miss." said the woman sitting at the little table behind the sign. Azusa didn't mean to say that at loud, so she feels a little awkward now.
But still, discarding suitors? based on only what? she hopes people don't take that silly (and precarious) fortune reading seriously.
"Are you interested miss? do you want to know if he's the one?".
Azusa stud there in silence for a moment "I don’t have anyone in mind" she said, you know, like a liar. “no one huh, that's even better, in that case, I can say more than the first letter.”, yeah because you can make up whatever you like, she thought but went ahead to see what the woman would invent. “Ok, tell me everything about my future husband”.
At Poirot, Amuro was setting up the tables when Azusa arrived.
“Sorry, I’m late.”, “no problem but what did keep you?” Pouting she responded “I got distracted.” her expression made the blond curious “by what?”
After she told him what got her so distracted that she was late for work he, not surprisingly, laughed.
“Don’t take this seriously, he may be the one, only time will tell”, “What?” she said blushing “as I said, there’s no one”, “if you heard her and is now disappointed it's because she was wrong, how could she be wrong if there’s no one? don't mind it, she's just trying to gain some easy money"
"but that bugs me is that she got everything right but one thing” “What?” “Funnily enough she got the first letter wrong” “the first letter?”
“Yeah, if it wasn’t for that R...”
"WHAT?"
