Autumn, and a gentle breeze. The weather is cold-hot as Rin stretches with a quiet yawn. Again, Nadeshiko fast asleep at her side... closer than last time. Her long hair tickles Rin's cheek and her breath smells like sweet pudding as it wafts in cute puffs against the nape of Rin's neck. It's warm. Too warm, and Rin's cheeks feel as pink as Nadeshiko's soft strawberry waves.
Another breeze, Nadeshiko shivering in her sleep. She inches closer to Rin's heat at the same time Rin rolls over, switching to the side that faces her and deciding to go back to sleep. Blush-tinted sunlight filters through the tent as their noses bump around a shared breath. Rin's heart thumps... and maybe she can't fall back asleep after all. But she stays still as Nadeshiko's head lolls forward, as she murmurs "Rin-chan!" against her lips while seeing a dream.
Outside: the cold, and leaves skittering over barren ground in time to gusts of wind. Inside, a feeling like summer. Cotton candy cloud wishes. Popsicles, strawberry lemonade, lying together just like this except outside... in small clothes on dew-cool grass on a sticky summer night. Eyes wide open, fingers entwined, bare legs brushing beneath a starlit sky.
Would Nadeshiko still be around? She would, wouldn't she? She's in love with Fuji-san.
Would her body have freckles? They must be cute, too, in the shape of pretty constellations.
A blush is coloring Rin's cheeks as dark as cherry chapstick when Nadeshiko blinks her eyes open. Trapped sun-rays sparkle in her long lashes, and her gaze brightens like the bubbles in fizzy soda as she focuses on Rin. Rin's insides feel fizzy, too. Bubblegum sweet.
"Rin-chan, ohayou!" murmurs Nadeshiko. Another tip of her head, just a feather's width forward, and they could kiss.
"Good morning, Nadeshiko," Rin whispers back. Soon, summer, and sharing more than heat under covers.
