Work Text:
Tommy woke up alone in his room. It was odd. Usually after movie nights Will spent the night in his room. Stumbling out of bed he rubbed at his eyes his hair standing in every direction. Tommy wandered into Wilbur’s kitchen. Their kitchen. He had to keep remind himself that this was his house now too. Tommy didn’t see Will making coffee, and the bathroom door was open with the light off. Wilbur was no where to be seen.
Tommy peaked his head into Wilbur's room, hoping he had fallen asleep in his bed, but all he found was an empty room. On his way back to the living room, he grabbed his phone, hoping he might have left to get them breakfast like he sometimes did when it was just the two of them.
Tommy sat scrolling through twitter and responding to his dms for a few minutes before he stared to get worried. He pulled up Wilbur’s number giving him a call. One ring. Two rings. Three rings. Voicemail. He had been sent to voicemail, he was never sent to voicemail. Wilbur always answered when he called. Tommy had been ignored.
It only worried him more. What had he done? He thought back to the night before knowing that Wilbur spent a few hours locked in his room on call with his girlfriend but when Tommy finally pulled him out to watch 'Your Name' things had been just fine. Wilbur seemed to be a bit in his head, but Tommy got him to smile at a few jokes he made. Tommy knew the other had his moments, but he was Wilbur and he always bounced back. He tried to push away the voice in the back of his head telling him that just because he bonced back the last few times doesn't mean he will this time. Sliding on his shoes and one of Wilbur’s jackets rushed out the door barely remembering to lock the door behind himself.
Tommy wondered around the streets looking in any place he knew Wilbur frequently visited. He came up empty, no Wilbur any where. He tugged Will’s jacket shut as a sudden blast of wind hit him a shiver racked through him. Tommy gave up heading back to the older man’s apartment.
Tommy unlocked the door shoving it open before slipping in shutting it behind him with his foot. Shrugging off the jacket throwing it over the back of the near by the couch.
“Toms?” Wilbur voice rang through the apartment.
“Will!” He couldn’t stop the excitement from his voice as he ran into the other’s room to see Wilbur sitting on his bed his guitar over his lap and his computer beside him. As much as he wanted to throw himself at Wilbur when he had not only his computer, but his guitar too with him, Tommy would definitely get the older upset.
Wilbur raised an eyebrow putting his guitar down on his bed standing up. “Something wrong Tommy?” He asked looking over the other.
Tommy wanted nothing more then to shove himself into the other's chest hugging him tightly. “I’m fine Will! I thought something was wrong with you.” He muttered shooting a glare at the other. “I called you!”
“Sorry Toms. I had my discord notifications off.” Wilbur’s eyes traveled back to the computer that was pointed away from them so they couldn’t see the screen. Wilbur olny did stuff like that when he was trying to hurry to get back to something.
“I phoned you”
Wilbur paled sitting back on his bed his head ducked as he chewed at his lip for a moment. “Out Tommy” He grumbled pointing to the door.
“I was worried about you, Wilbur! You can’t just ignore me and then tell me to get out! What is going on with you?” Tommy asked exasperated throwing his hands up taking a step closer.
“Tommy” Wilbur said in his ‘warning’ voice. Tommy just sighed hanging his head as he left the room.
Tommy dumped himself onto his bed with another sigh his long limbs spreading out as he stared up at the light that was off and the fan unmoving. Why was Wilbur being so distant? The first week he had runway to stay with him Wilbur made sure to be with him at all times reassuring him that his dad wouldn’t come get him, but where was Will now? Talking to his dumb E girlfriend. Tommy saw the picture in his head the amine girl with cat ears that is her profile. He wished he could punch her. Not saying he would, he would never punch a girl. He just wanted his Will back.
