Work Text:
As you pull open the door of your boyfriend’s apartment, you can’t help but notice the silence that greets you.
“Noriaki?”
No response.
“Kakyoin!?” You try again and, unsurprisingly, the silence continues.
You roll your eyes and let out a slight chuckle as you make your way down the hall to his bedroom. At the doorway, you stand, hands poised on your hips as you take in the sight of him, cross-legged on his bed, gaming headphones and all. You knock loudly against the open door.
His head shoots over to your direction and his eyebrows crease apologetically, “I didn’t hear you come in… again.”
Smiling warmly at him, you head over to his bed and collapse next to him, but not before planting a kiss to his forehead, “It’s alright, I figured this is where I’d find you.”
He looks away from the screen to tilt your chin up and kiss you properly, the smile you adore so much creeping onto his face as he pulls away.
“Hey babe,” Noriaki says, eyes lingering on your face for a moment longer before drifting back to his game.
“How long have you been playing this time?”
He pouts. “Don’t say it like that. It makes me feel bad.”
Your response is quick, almost reflexive, “How many times do I have to tell you that I don’t mind. I just like spending time with you.”
His face is bright red when you glance up at him and you can’t hold back your smirk.
“Shut up.”
You rest your head against his shoulder as you watch him play, the comfortable silence punctuated with the occasional angry shout at Jotaro through his headset.
The light filtering through the blinds gradually changes hue as the sun sets, sinking the room into darkness, save for the light from the tv and LED lights. After a long day, a nap sounds incredibly enticing and being in Kakyoin’s presence puts you at ease like nothing else. You find your eyes getting heavy before you can even stop them.
“Fuck,” Kakyoin stresses, huffing out a frustrated sigh as his character dies at a difficult point in the level, “This is ridiculous.”
As the loading screen pops up, he takes the time to look down at you.
Only one word can describe the sight he’s graced with: Cute.
Your face is peaceful, albeit practically squished against his shoulder, as you curl your hand into the fabric of his shirt, right over his heart. Kakyoin could die happy if this was the last thing he ever laid eyes on.
He bids Jotaro goodbye almost immediately and powers down his console, slipping his headset onto the bedside table. Gently shifting so as to not wake you up, he pulls the blanket resting at the foot of his bed up over you, letting you both lay beside one another. It takes you all of two seconds to nuzzle your face into the crook of his neck and plant a kiss there.
“I didn’t mean to wake you,” he’s quick to say, planting his hand to the back of your head to play with your hair.
“S’alright,” you respond, speech slurred and muffled with sleep.
With one final kiss to the crown of your head, Kakyoin closes his eyes, allowing himself to completely unwind, lulled to sleep by the sound of your breathing.
