Chapter Text
Another case had just closed, a verdict of "Not Guilty" was won by Phoenix Wright. Miles gave an annoyed sigh that went unheard over the cheering and confetti. He was used to it at this point, and it didn't even bother him much-but he could at least let himself feel a little disappointed.
Everyone had mostly filtered out while Miles was packing his briefcase, meticulously putting every file in perfect place and order. He wondered if he would see Phoenix after the trial.
When his eyes flickered up as he snapped his case shut and straightened his back, he noticed Phoenix was still there. He was leaned over his podium, eyes deep in what Miles interpreted as wistful thought. Miles straightened his jabot and walked over, the clinking of his shoes capturing Phoenix's attention.
"Oh-Hey, Edgeworth. You're still here." Phoenix observed, a little surprise in his eyes as he came out of his seemingly trance-like state.
"So are you." He responded, eyes perhaps a tad accusatory. Not that he meant that, it was just hard to get over habits-especially when you've been trained to keep them most of your life.
"Ehe, yeah," Phoenix straightened himself up and brought a sheepish hand behind his neck. "I guess I was just lost in thought. Sorry,"
Miles was a little confused by that, and took a moment to blink before responding. "No need to apologize, this isn't my courtroom or anything. You being here causes me no trouble." Phoenix only response was a slight fake smile and a faraway look in his eyes.
Miles swallowed nervously and cleared his throat, both to get Phoenix's attention and quell his body's nervousness. "Is something bothering you?" Miles hoped he came off as friendly and concerned, but he was terrible with these situations.
Phoenix gave a small, almost self-deprecating sounding laugh. "Yeah, you could say that." Miles gave an expectant look, and when Phoenix looked into Miles' eyes he let out a small sigh and continued. "Today is-was, me and Dahlia's anniversary." Phoenix's face cringed a bit just at the words he said.
Miles gave what he hoped was a sympathetic look. "That must be... hard for you." He said.
"Yeah, it is. I know I should be over it, but..."
"No, it makes perfect sense for you to still be hurt by... the situation." Miles cursed his vocabulary for abandoning him in his time of need. "I understand how it is, truly, these traumatic... things," Dammit. "They aren't something that heal overnight. You have the right to still feel upset, and of course today especially is very painful." He hoped he conveyed himself properly, and when his eyes met Phoenix, who looked a little surprised but also touched, he mentally congratulated himself.
"Yeah, you're right. Thanks, Edgeworth." Phoenix looked at Miles with a soft smile, still sad but a little less painful. Miles gave a short nod in response, and both of their eyes found different places to wander and stare, an attempt to save both of them from potential awkwardness.
After quite a few moments passed, Miles took a deep breath, summoned his courage and spoke. "If you want, you can come over to my apartment." Phoenix's eyes darted towards him, shocked expression as he lifted himself up a bit unconsciously. "I mean, from experience- I know how hard it is to be alone during these times, and I would be more than happy to provide comfort and support." Did he come off too eager? Miles chastised himself internally. "Only if you want, of course. I understand if you want to be alone or seek comfort elsewhere." Miles eyes flitted for a second from Phoenix's before meeting his gaze again as a conscious show of being genuine.
Phoenix blinked, still a little shocked, but then let his temporarily tensed muscles relax and gave a genuine smile. Miles felt a pang of joy as he saw the smile reach Phoenix's eyes, bottom lids crinkling up a little. "Thank you, Edgeworth. I'd really like that." Phoenix said, the somewhat soft appreciation presented through his voice.
Miles felt his cheeks warm a little, and his eyes looked to the side as if looking at Phoenix's face head on was like looking into the sun, gorgeous light blinding. He cleared his throat again, only for a moment before he realized he had done that earlier and his nervous habitual stalling may be evident, and took in a fast breath through his nose before speaking. "Of course, Wright." He slipped his hand in his pocket for his keys, maybe using it as a situational excuse to avoid Wright's eye contact temporarily but unsuspiciously a little more, and then clutching his keys and holding them by his side, a little raised for Wright to see. "I've parked in the staff parking lot, are you ready to go?"
Phoenix eyes lit up a bit as he smiled again and grabbed his suitcase, somewhat gingerly stepping off the slightly raised platform behind his podium and standing next to Miles. "I'm ready, I packed all my stuff up a while ago." Phoenix gave a short laugh. Miles let himself give him a soft smile back, though it was in response to the smile on Phoenix's face and the sound of his laughter as opposed to whatever he had said.
The walk to the car was wordless, but as they weaved their way through the semi-populated courthouse of people filtering through, he tried to assure himself it wasn't awkward. His heart fluttered as he wondered if he was doing this right, if he should be saying something- god, this was why hanging around Phoenix was so hard. He could barely think straight what with the constant anxiety over everything he was doing and how Phoenix would respond. He bit his lip, wondering if Phoenix would say something on the way if he had wanted to, and then deciding he should just leave the situation as is to avoid himself saying something embarrassing or awkward. (The "WOOT" situation came to mind.)
They reached the car, Phoenix casually getting into the passenger's seat and Miles relaxing a little at Phoenix's less troubled body language. They both buckled in and Miles started the car.
"Wow, I can't believe you still haven't changed cars." Phoenix observed with a grin, looking around the car and then side-eyeing Miles.
Miles gave an amused smirk and glanced at Phoenix for a moment before his eyes returned to the road. "You should talk, being as you've been holding onto that flip-phone for decades."
Phoenix gave a mock hurt gasp and the playful gesture immediately brought butterflies to Miles' chest. "I'll have you know that not only has my trusty flip-phone has worked all these years, but it also costs next to nothing."
Miles snorted. "Fitting, since you can do next to nothing with it. I've seen you using it, you take half a minute to send a single text." Miles innerly patted himself on the back for the friendly teasing, congratulating himself for hopefully getting playful banter right. What came natural with others always seemed so much harder with Phoenix.
"Pshh. At least I don't have an iPhone that you have to replace every two years."
Miles couldn't help but give a tentative agreeing 'hmm'.
"And those screens shatter so easily! Trucy dropped her’s and there was glass everywhere! The screen was so broken all you could see when you looked at it was the sharp spiderweb shaped cracks." Phoenix said.
Miles chuckled, and the ride continued with similar easy conversation. As he let himself respond without too much thought, he tried to calm his racing heart and quell the panic that sprouted from the danger of saying or doing something wrong and ruining the mood they had slipped into. Before he knew it, they were parked at his apartment complex.
"Wow, fancy." Phoenix observed with obviously played up amazement as they exited the car.
They started their walk to the apartment. The side of Miles mouth quirked in a somewhat crooked grin, eyes relaxed and eyebrows quirked in amusement. "You've been here multiple times before, Phoenix." He reminded him.
"Yeah but I can still marvel at the fanciness." Phoenix smirked.
After ascending a few levels of stairs that Phoenix made a little show of complaining about, they arrived at Miles' apartment. Regardless of the atmosphere, he still opened the door in the elegant chivalrous way welcoming him in.
"Just as clean and elegant as I remember." Phoenix commented, looking around as Miles took off his own shoes and locked the door. "But somehow more pink." Phoenix side-eyed Miles and gave a teasing eyebrows low grin.
Miles gave a played up exasperated sigh and stepped into the kitchen. "I seem to remember you liking white wine. Is chardonnay alright?" He tried to keep his tone casual along with trying to relax himself while grabbing the wine glasses from his cabinet. The wine would help.
"Aww, you remembered? But nah, I've moved on to red wine. Getting some variety, but either is fine." Phoenix left out that he changed tastes based on what was cheapest at the bar Trucy performed at. He sat on one of the cushioned stools next to Miles' counter, elbow relaxing on the surface and leaning his face onto his propped hand.
"No worries, I have red as well." Miles grabbed the bottle from another cabinet and poured them both a glass, gingerly handing Phoenix his. Phoenix almost immediately took a rather large sip, to which Miles' made sure to quirk an eyebrow in acknowledgement before walking around the counter to Phoenix. "Shall we take this to the living room?"
Phoenix stood up and grinned. "What, not worried about me making stains?"
Miles narrowed his eyes in response. "I'm trusting you won't, and trusting that if you do you will pay for the cleaning."
Phoenix laughed. "Well it's red wine, isn't it? I'm sure you won't even notice it, what with all the pink furniture." He said as he strolled to the living room, plopping himself down on the couch. Miles rolled his eyes and followed, setting the wine bottle on the coffee table and sitting on the couch next to him at what he had quickly innerly calculated to be a friendly distance from Phoenix. He wanted to be close but not too close, as if it would somehow give away his hidden feelings.
Miles took a moment to let out a silent breath and gather his thoughts. "Would you like to talk about it? About Dahlia?" He asked, innerly encouraging himself to be as understanding and supportive as possible and to not come off as jealous.
Phoenix sighed and took another sip of wine, eyes looking off into the distance. "I know the relationship wasn't real now, I do, it's just..." Phoenix cringed. "I just can't help but miss it."
Miles noticed Phoenix's pause and tried to give an encouraging look. "Miss it how?"
Phoenix huffed. "Miss all of it. The relationship. Feeling loved, having someone to love, holding hands, feeling like I have a place with someone..." Phoenix swirled the leftover wine in his glass and glared at it. "The works."
Miles gave a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry Phoenix, that sounds very painful."
Phoenix groaned, setting his wineglass down before leaning back on the couch and slinging his arm over his eyes. "God, it was fake- and maybe it was real with Iris, but that hurts even more; that it was real and she still co-operated, didn't intervene with a plan that almost killed me." Phoenix grimaced.
Miles observed his mouth for social queues as his eyes were hidden, and decided Phoenix was most likely taking a pause before continuing.
"But just having someone to hold, god, Miles-" Miles breath hitched at the use of his first name. "It's so damn hard sleeping alone when you remember that's not the only way to sleep. When I remember I could have someone next to me, another heartbeat, the warm comfort of someone who loves me, I miss it so much. Really, I miss having someone to hold." Phoenix pauses and Miles felt his heart flutter and lips tremble, thoughts of confessing pushing forefront in his mind.
Phoenix takes his arm off his face and opts to run his hand through his hair. Miles sees the stress and pain in his face, but also can sense the relief at letting it out, so he hardened his resolve to hold his tongue.
"And its pathetic, and it's so pathetic to admit this, but hell, I miss having someone to fuck." Phoenix vents. Miles sputters, spitting out a little of his wine on accident but wiping it with his sleeve and quickly recovering before Phoenix can notice.
"You do?" Miles asks, trying to hide his whirling emotions.
Phoenix sighs and nods. "Is that weird to say?" Miles shakes his head quickly.
"No no- it's alright, I'm happy you're getting this out." Miles wasn't sure his wording was perfect, but Phoenix didn't seem to mind. He huffed and seemed to relax, and Miles prepared himself for Phoenix to continue.
Phoenix ran his hand through his hair again, but this time left it tangled in the hairs on top of his head. "God, I just want to hold someone down and ram into them hard. Get something warm and tight around my cock, feel someone around me, just give a good hard fuck." Phoenix's voice started sounding absolutely filthy and Miles had to quickly put a hand over his mouth to stifle an involuntary moan.
Phoenix leaned back further and let out a frustrated groan. "I'm just so fucking horny, like I could fuck almost anyone at this point. Emotions and connections are amazing, so much better-but god it's been way to long, I just need to fuck someone." Another sigh.
"I don't know, maybe that's what I should do. Maybe that's what would help, going to a bar and having a one night stand, y'know? Now that Trucy is off at college, it’s finally an option. Maybe that's what will help." He finished. A moment passed without Miles giving any input, he was busy trying to maintain his breathe and regain control over his speeding heart and the growing tent in his pants. "Edgeworth?" Phoenix turned his head to no doubt see Miles a blushing mess, red cheeks, pursed lips and dilated eyes that looked away when Phoenix looked at them. Phoenix sighed, sitting up a bit and reaching his hand to cup and rub the back of his neck. "Sorry, was that too much?"
Miles shifted uncomfortably and mumbled a response.
"Uh, what? Should I go?"
Miles shook his head, ran a hand over his face and muttered something again-something closer to sounding like words, probably.
Phoenix sat up a bit more and shifted closer. "I can't hear you, what did you say?" Miles couldn't see Phoenix's eyes, but he could hear a bit of concern. Guilt rushing to him at the thought forced him to say something.
"M-me." He stammered, an incomplete thought that brought another layer of embarrassed flush to his face.
"...You what?"
"You can... you should..." Miles gulped, instinctively grabbing one arm with the other and turning away a bit. "You don't need to go out to a bar, Phoenix," With a hammering heart and a mini impulsive streak, he met Phoenix's eyes. "You can... you can fuck me."
Phoenix's eyes widened in surprise and then just as quickly dilated in what Miles prayed was lust. "You- me? You?" Phoenix looked hesitant, maybe confused? Miles couldn't tell. "You didn't drink that much... Edgeworth, have you thought about this before? Is this- would this really be alright?"
Miles took in a shaky breath and nodded. "Yes I've thought about it before, I'm clean. I'm also clean down there- I was going to masturbate today-" Miles brutally cringed at his own massive word vomit and prayed the moment would end, innerly begging Phoenix to do something. He did.
After a moment of shock and a spark of recognition, Phoenix's face relaxed into a lazy and turning mischievous smirk. "You were gonna fuck yourself today?" Phoenix scooted closer, taking Miles' chin in his hand and tugging him a bit closer. "Gonna fuck yourself with a dildo? A toy? Fuck yourself till you cum from getting fucked?" Everytime Phoenix said that word Miles felt his breath hitch and face flush more. Phoenix must have been able to read him easily. Miles breath was hard and ragged, eyes bewildered, fascinated, shocked and horny at the same time. He unintentionally rubbed his thighs together every time Phoenix repeated himself.
Phoenix brought the hand from his chin to around Miles' head, grabbed his hair and tugged. Miles let out a short whine. "Answer me." Phoenix's grip on his hair tightened, and he could feel the threat of pain gathering.
"Yes," He paused to breathe. "I was going to fuck myself on a dildo," He gulped and kept eye contact with Phoenix.
Phoenix grin was absolutely wolfish. "Never pegged you for the submissive type, but god- the moment I saw you like this I knew. You like getting pushed around, getting your hair pulled, don't you?" Miles whined and gave a flurry of short nods, trying not to move his head too much. "Like being treated like the submissive bitch you are?" Phoenix's face was mere inches from his at this point and he could feel the hot breath on his face as he let out a short needy whine and nodded.
Suddenly, the hand in his hair was released and he was pushed onto the couch. Phoenix's mouth was on his and as soon as he parted his lips a tongue was pushed down his throat, wildly exploring and claiming Miles. Miles moaned and let his tongue desperately move beside Phoenix's, as if caressing it while his mouth was being invaded. Phoenix pulled away for a second and caught his breath.
"God, you even kiss like a submissive whore. You're just begging to be dominated, taken for all you're worth." Miles cried out and bucked his hips up before Phoenix captured his mouth again. Phoenix pushed a leg between both of Miles and set to grinding like a wild animal, Miles grinding just as desperately on Phoenix's thigh.
After what seemed like forever and not long enough of desperate grinding, Phoenix stopped his movements and whispered in his ear. "I'm gonna fuck you so hard, so good Edgeworth." Miles whimpered. "Gonna dick you down like a slut, Miles." Miles cried out rutted manically against Phoenix.
Phoenix slipped his hand under Miles waistband, tugging the pants and underwear down a little before giving Miles’ ass a hard squeeze. "Cockslut." He hissed into his ear. Miles whined and his desperate grinding against Phoenix quickened. Phoenix let his fingers trace over Miles’ asshole before going in for another kiss, but was stopped..
Miles put his arm in front of his mouth.
"Bed-please, fuck me on my bed," He panted, words muffled a bit behind his arm.
"Prissy bitch." Miles felt himself get more turned on by the insult. He may have felt a touch of hurt iif Phoenix didn't kiss his forehead and immediately get up to drag him to the bedroom. He couldn't help but feel incredibly touched by Phoenix's consideration-even in this situation-for the few moments he was following Phoenix to his bedroom.
Not a moment after they got to the room Phoenix shoved Miles onto the bed. Phoenix treated Miles like a ragdoll to get him into his desired position, and Miles let himself be maneuvered so his head was on the pillows. Phoenix towered over him, resuming kissing him bruisingly hard. He felt Phoenix rip off his coat- probably breaking the buttons, but couldn't bring himself to feel anything but turned on by it. When his bare chest was exposed, Phoenix brought his hands to his breasts and massaged. Miles cried out, breaking the kiss to lean back in ecstasy. Phoenix growled and lifted himself on his knees, throwing his dress shirt onto the ground, before throwing off his suit pants. He was tugging at Miles’ pants in seconds, Miles letting out a whimper and as he lifted his hips in compliance. Phoenix wasted no time and ripped Miles’ boxers off, giving a low groan of satisfaction when he saw the desperately hard cock beneath.
"On your stomach, Miles. Put your ass up like a bitch ready to get bred." Phoenix commanded. Miles gave a whimpering moan and did as directed, his trembling arms scrambling to help move himself until he was on his stomach face half covered by pillows and ass slightly tentatively raised. Phoenix’s rough hands gripped his ass and shoved it up more so his knees were supporting himself, leaving his ass was on full display.
"Fuck, Phoenix, really?" He whined when he processed his the wave of self-consciousness got to him. Phoenix slapped his ass.
"Don’t talk back.” He growled. “Now, what do you use to loosen yourself up?"
Miles breathe was fast and heavy. He quivered in lust, his aching cock responding to the rough treatment. His mind was so foggy and desperate that he had to focus just to respond. "The bedside stand- top drawer- theres lube in the drawer," He panted. Phoenix’s body heat disappeared from behind him and he whimpered at the loss before he could stop himself. After hearing Phoenix rummage through the drawer, he felt that body heat behind him return. He listened to slick noises in anticipation before two fingers were shoved into his ass. He gave a moan bordering a scream. It was a bit painful, but god he loved it.
"Like this, slut?" Phoenix curled his fingers against Miles’ wall.
"Fuck- yes- god yes!" Miles desperately responded. Phoenix slapped his ass again.
"Whore. Such a horny little whore, Miles." Miles whined. "Are you gonna be my horny little whore tonight, Miles? Let me fuck you into your mattress, carve myself into your slutty ass?"
Miles nodded frantically. "Please Phoenix, make me your bitch, your slutty whore,” He tried to keep his voice from heightening as he begged, but there was no hiding his raw yearning.
Phoenix groaned and added another finger. "I’m gonna put you in your place, show you who’s bitch you are. Show you who is in charge." He growled. Miles shivered beneath him.
"Please,” Miles pleaded again.
Phoenix continued to stretch him, though he knew he was already loose enough. "I saw your toy in your drawer. 5 inches, huh?” Phoenix chuckled. “Guess what Miles, it’s smaller than me. Ready to get stretched open? Fucked open wide? Split open on my cock?"
Miles nodded frantically into the mattress. "I’m ready, please Phoenix," He begged, his face down on the bed but turned to look at Phoenix with pleading needy eyes, cheek squished on the mattress. Phoenix brought his own cock and, knowing he was already hard enough, stroked it a few times to tease Miles. His eyes fixed on miles lustful and desperate expression as Miles watched Phoenix touch himself, whimpering in desperation and jealousy of Phoenix’s hand.
"You want me, Miles? Want to be my bitch tonight?" Phoenix leaned over him, the head of his cock brushing against Miles’ entrance.
"Please!" He cried out, frustrated, desperate and needy.
"Say it, Miles. Say you want to be my personal cockslut, my cocksleeve." He growled into his ear.
"Phoenix please, I’m your cockslut, I’m your bitch I’m your whore, please use me as your cocksleeve!” Phoenix shoved in hard all at once. Miles couldn't contain a scream, hands clawing at sheets. Phoenix let out a guttural moan and thrust out and in hard again. Miles had no time to adjust but was craving and thriving on the pain, his own cock leaking substantially.
"Fuck! Phoenix!" Miles cried out as his entire body shifted with each thrust, Phoenix's tugging on his hips shaking the mattress.
"Jesus christ Miles, you feel so good!" Phoenix praised with hard breathes and stroked Miles’ back while he moved. "Such a good boy for me." He gave an extra hard thrust then bent over to speak right into Miles’ ear. "My perfect little cocksleeve."
Miles cried out and writhed uncontrollably, overcome with pleasure. Phoenix could no longer help leaning over Miles, thrusting against him with his chest on Miles’ back like an animal blinded with lust. Miles cried and moaned, the noises bordering on screams. Phoenix grasped one hand in his hair and used the other to hold his hips up as he snaps his own hips back and forth. The pace that was once semi-steady had turned uneven and wild, Phoenix giving erratic and purely carnal hard thrusts.
"Phoenix please I’m so close, I need- please just touch me,”
Phoenix leaned over him, wrapping a hand around his cock. "Cum." He said right before he bit into his neck and gave Miles’ dick a rough pump. Miles screamed, tightening and trembling around Phoenix as he came. Phoenix shouted in ecstasy and released himself inside Miles, continuing to thrust throughout orgasm until he was completely empty.
When they both finished, Miles’ legs gave out and he fell flat on the bed. Phoenix, still on top of him, wrapped his arms around him and rode through the after orgasm high. When he felt a little more aware, he laid on his side and tugged Miles’ back against his chest. He listened to Miles slow breathing, right next to him with their skin touching, and let himself fall into a deep rest behind him.
Hours passed as the two lay snuggled against each other, heartbeats echoing one another intimately.
