A Gentle “I Love You” Whispered After A Soft Kiss, Followed Immediately By A Stronger Kiss
You had returned early from a mission back to the butterfly estate. No demon slayers were there, at least not a lot. No pillars as usual. Since you were still recovering you knew you weren’t going to be sent on a mission so maybe you could have some time to yourself. Go out to the nearest town and find the best sightseeing spot no matter what the villagers may tell you. Cursed spot? Going there to check the scenery! Too dangerous up there? Going there too! Whatever spot that looked interesting or looked like a good spot to sit you went for it.
After a while though you started getting bored and just a bit lonely. You sighed sitting on your perch about the town. It was a nice spot and no one would spot you there. It was too high up and impossible for any normal person to get up so it’s not like anyone would look up there. Your perch was big enough you could probably lay down on it, but you just sat at its edge and leaned back using your hands to hold yourself up. Your eyes closed and you breathed in the clean air and let out another sigh. “Haa, I miss you Giyuu.. ” Just as you let out that sigh and was about to lean back up and head back to the butterfly estate (Shinobu will probably scold you for leaving without telling anyone, not to mention how late it’s gotten), a pair of lips suddenly met yours and your eyes shot open. “Mph?!” It wasn’t a long kiss, it was brief but enough to startle you.
You forced yourself to fall by letting your arms fall to your sides so you were now laying down. “I missed you too” a smile on his face. It was Giyuu. You sigh in relief when you see it was him.
“You weren’t supposed to hear that..” You grumble and sit up as he sits next to you on your perch. He has a small smile on his face. “What’s with you, you never start with kisses” you smirked at him. You weren’t complaining but you still wanted to know what brought on his sudden courage for showering you with affection.
It took him a moment to do anything. He wanted to admire this nice view you supposed. It was lovely after all. Suddenly he leaned towards you and brought you in for a soft kiss on the lips before pulling back for a moment to stare into your eyes. You face flushed and you most certainly weren’t ready for his next set of words. “I love you.” He said with a smile that made its way to his face. His whole face was covered by the light of the evening, his eyes looked so pretty in this light, it was like the ocean during a sunset all on its own. And suddenly he met your lips with his own again for an even more passionate kiss holding it for much longer this time. When he finally backed away from the kiss, satisfied with what he’d gotten, your face was already red from what just happened.
Did.. Did he really just do that? He seemed a little too happy with what he did and you asked him without making eye contact and mumbled out the words from embarrassment at what just happened. “Wh… What was that for.. ” God you wanted to hide your face in something so bad right now but there wasn’t anything you could use.
“Mmm,” he thought to himself for a minute, putting his finger to his chin. “Because I felt like it..?” He almost questioned himself at the end there and you just stared at him dumbfounded. “And because no one would see us here.” He stated again and you realized again that absolutely no one was around.
“Wait then how did you find me??” You questioned him getting closer to him.
“It wasn’t hard. I know you usually go for the highest places to relax or just hang out at.” He gave you a knowing smile and put his hand on top of yours and held it.
You let out a long sigh and fell into his lap. “I can’t hide from you can I?”
“You were hiding from me?” He questioned as he started to pet your hair as you laid down.
“No. I was just sight-seeing but I didn’t think I’d be found.” You closed your eyes when you felt his hands in your hair massaging your head. You couldn’t help but feel yourself relax even after what just happened. You stood there with him in comfortable peace for what seemed like hours until you finally spoke up again and reach your hand to his face. “Do you wanna take me back to the butterfly estate before they scold me too much for being gone?”
“Mmm,” he mused. His face leaning into your hand you’d given him. “What if we just stay here instead.. But then I’d be scolded for not bringing you back earlier…I suppose we do have to go back.” When he’d finished talking he leaned more into your hand planting a kiss on your palm and lifting you into his arms carrying you bridal style.
“Wh-” you couldn’t even process the kiss he’d placed on your palm because now he had jumped off from your shared perch and was making his way down. All you could do was cling to him as tightly as you could in fear of falling. When he’d finally landed on solid ground he looked down at you to see you clinging to him and then looking up at him with a less than pleased look on your face. “A warning would’ve been nice!” He simply smiled and leaned in for another kiss but you already turned around away from him not letting him kiss you. A “hmph!” Left your mouth as you huffed at him.
He laughed a bit before giving you a rare, warm smile before looking back at you with a “sad” look on his eyes and saying, “Will you forgive me if I gave you my haori?“
You looked at him from the corner of your eye before turning to him and holding your hands out for his haori to which he handed to you, and even helped you put on. Being as small as you were, his haori was so big on you but it was so comfy. You made a contented smile at him and pulled him down for a brief kiss then running off back to the estate, making Giyuu chase you as you ran.
