Silly Hats & Sugar Air

Summary:

Izuku and Katsuki are on their honeymoon.

Notes:

Day of BakuDeku Week.
Prompt: Cotton Candy

Work Text:

They were taking a break on a bench, the day was hot and the park was packed with people.  Katsuki immediately removed his wedding themed Minnie Mouse had and sprawled out on the rest of the bench, with his head resting in Izuku’s lap.
“Are you having fun, Kacchan?” Izuku asked.  His hand came up and ran through Katsuki’s hair.  Katsuki frowned in thought.

“Overall, yeah.  It’s busier than I thought it would be,” he said.  Izuku smiled and laced their fingers together, their wedding bands glinted off the bright California sun.  They let themselves relax on the bench.  Just a short break after a string of long lines and rides after lunch.  Izuku suddenly perked up and was shoving Katsuki off of him.

“What the hell?!”

“Kacchan, cotton candy.  I want some,” Izuku declared.  He hopped out of his seat and rushed over to the vendor.  Katsuki saw him greet the employee and exchanged some of his bills for a large bag of cotton candy.  Izuku practically skipped back with a big smile on his face.  He sat back down and Katsuki reclaimed his pillow on Izuku’s lap.

“Happy  with your air sugar?” Katsuki asked.  Izuku ripped open the back and pulled the fluffy sweet apart and popped a piece in his mouth.

“Mhm,” Izuku hummed.  Another piece was ripped off and it was offered to Katsuki.

“I don’t want it.  It’s just empty calories,” Katsuki protested.  Izuku insistently pressed the candy to Katsuki’s lips.

“Come on.  I know you’re body is a temple, but we’re on our honeymoon!” Izuku said.  Katsuki grunted.

“Fine, but you’re helping me burn that off later,” he said.  Izuku gleefully dropped the piece into Katsuki’s open mouth.

“Oh, I’m sure I will,” he purred.  Katsuki rolled his eyes and reached up to take some cotton candy for himself.

“You fucking better.”

They ate their cotton candy and rose from the bench.  As soon as they were up, a family speaking rapidly in a language neither understood swooped in and took over the bench.  Izuku took Katsuki’s hand in his.

“Come on, I wanna ride the Matterhorn!” he declared.  Katsuki just smiled indulgently at his husband’s enthusiasm, completely oblivious to the sound of employees congratulating them on their marriage.
