H e a d c a n n o n s
- Reader was UA, two years older than 1-A. So she’s a Pro and has been for a year? UGH NO BECAUSE HITOSHI NEEDS TO BE PRO FOR HIS INTERACTIONS TO REALLY WORK. So they need to be the same age. A fucking U, everything is the same just Pro. Fuck it. That’s it.
- Timeline is between Kai getting dearmed and Shigs claiming the throne.
- Her Quirk is attack based and a really decent one for Heroics, so she’s always been one of those mainish side characters that aren’t at the bottom but aren’t on the top--just an average, nice ole support Hero/perpetual sidekick with an existential crisis.
(before Machia?? Timeline must be established before anything. All Pro-heros? Bc Hitoshi is the perfect character foil so something MUST BE DONE)
- Over what period of time does this happen--I want it to be realistic, so there needs to be a good amount of time between the first and last chapter. Idc if it’s a canon timeline, but the relationship development needs to be long term and believable for that period of time. Not some sort of love at first sight because that’s just not him to me unless he’s yandere.
- But his development is at the basis after Magne dies and is avenged, bc that’s when he truly shows his care for his team.
- Headcannons will probably be a good first/intro chapter. Easier that way. At least make the headcannons for yourself first so you’re set on it. Def like the idea of it being post Kai-arm-removal and ending with him being on that fucking throne where he belongs, regardless of the mere 2-3 months it actually is in canon. Fuck canon right now anyway. All hail fanfiction.
- Neutral enemies to lovers--heavily one-sided at first but slowly reciprocated, and deeply so when it finally is. Like, he’s to the point that he understands how to get things out of emotional people because he recognizes what brings the league together and keeps them together. He protects his own, and he’s still looking for those who are of similar mind-sets that will fit in with the people he trusts. He has the emotional competence and intelligence at this point to know what you need to hear to get what he wants in the long run, while making sure it’ll benefit you and his comrades as well. “Twice/Toga/Spinner will like her. AFO/Kurogiri would approve of this plan.”
- Definitely an “unreliable” narration--aka, her thoughts/actions/feelings are not what main stream would call normal, seeing as she’s going to the side of people that literally kill. She’s not mentally stable, she’s not completely logical, she’s not okay. Which is a fact for any villain--no one’s born with the goal of doing this shit. She’s not supposed to be loved or uwu’d. She’s real, flawed, fucked up, selfish, her own type of manipulative. I mean, she put her death in the hands of others; villains you’d have every right to assume wouldn’t give a shit if they viewed you as a threat, but still. She put the burden on others because she couldn’t. She’s selfish and manipulative in her own way and her awareness of it goes in and out.
- While it’s a purely tool and future oriented meeting (I mean, how can he resist dangling a Pro-turned-Villain in front of Hero society), it slowly morphs from tool → how he views the rest of the league → someone who stays by his side because of HIM and his values → confidant/fellow planner for his ideal greatness → lover.
- Would love to write smut for it but it’s a slow, emotional burn that needs to mean so fucking much. Also I suck at it so would need help but gdamn do I want to. Is part of the end game afterall.
- As canon as you can get with his personality. Yandere is a very tempting thing but it won’t work at all with what the story needs to get the core feelings/ideas out of it all. Will write yandere!Shig at some point because OOF but need to get this all out first.
First meeting

- Basically, bitch put all your insecurities and failures into this character.
- It’s symbolism for how bnha has literally saved you from insanity
Seeing herself on TV
- Days after, having gotten more used to and still comfortable in the fact that yeah it was either die or go with him, but it’s what she truly needed to feel free and okay.
- No assumption that she’s been kidnapped or anything since there’s literally no proof, but seeing everyone so upset has her tripping hardcore
- He’s weirdly mature and comforting, still on his best behavior though it’s decidedly lessened his patience. At this point there’s more obvious signs of his connection to who she is and what she’s going through. It’s still very platonic/using her for future plans, but he can’t help but recognize that she truly does belong with them as he watches her interact with the other social misfits.
- There’s kinship, there’s understanding, there’s that void that typical society couldn’t or wouldn’t fulfill that helps her fit in fine. She’s notably burdened in different ways, no comparison to how shit society has treated the others--well, she does and feels horrible even complaining about her own shit because she hasn’t been mistreated like these guys have. But they’re amazing and ensure feelings are feelings. Just another example/expression of how those at the bottom are the most loving and accepting of society, most willing to support each other bc they need to to survive.
- Like, she’s not supposed to have a fucking terrible, tragic backstory. She’s not the person people look at and go, oh, yeah, she’s been so tortured by life it totally makes sense. What some “stronger” willed people would handle easily and get past just… mental health hits everyone differently. It IS different for everyone. It, again, isn’t all black and white and that is a huge part of her conflict in her first decision--she should be able to save herself, she shouldn’t have to be saved in the first place. Her life compared to billions has been so easy. But you can’t help the shit your mind keeps on you, not without proper help and healing yourself in the way that really works for you.
- Her conflicted/negative feelings should be resolved by the other league members rather than shigs to establish a deeper sense of belonging and sense that he gave her much more than a direction. Like Giran to Twice, he gave her a place and a family she belongs to.
- Conflicted feelings to delve into/face: what a villain really means, the reality of what they do and what she’s now connected with because she was not thinking of the implications at that point. She’s still a moral, “good” person, she just can’t survive in the world she and her surroundings created and at this point there’s no turning back--again, it was either go with Shigs or die like she thought she wanted. The pure black/white casts her out as well and she can’t handle it, which is perfect to call back to when she meets Hitoshi on her first outing. It’ll put her new resolve/ideology to the test.
- There’s an understandable amount of disillusionment on both sides, like already the weight of the Hero world is off her, making her feel so much lighter, so she’s thankful and has her new people on a pedestal. She also has her Hero friends/”good” heroes like Hawks and Endeavor on a similar pedestal but more so on an unattainable, I’ll-never-be-like-them-so-why-am-I-killing-myself-over-it way. The irony of those examples should be so fucking apparent.
First mission/first appearance in public as a “Villain”
- Has to be after some development of their relationship, of trust, since it’ll be her first appearance as a true villain. Going with Twice/Spinner/Mr. Compress would be best because of their less ‘serious’ and violent depiction from heroes. That’ll highlight the flaws in how they see those like her, and reinforce her realized beliefs, leading her to defend and attack for those she’s with.
- Heros are operating on the assumption that she’s been captured when she arrives but the above will become hella apparent with dialog.
- Emphasizes that although some will offer and come to you with the best intentions, it might not be what you need and that’s okay--for both parties, it’s okay that they can’t save you. And their version of an “okay” you doesn’t have to be your version--you HAVE to find your own version of okay.
- Izuku at the very least will be there. Hitoshi maybe, idk, would Pro-them work together? Hm. Maybe just Hitoshi? Would make it much more poignant seeing as it would be a mental game, you still answering and trusting him enough to talk and get your thoughts out regardless of his quirk. Also his backstory so. Need to set up/figure out if they’re all Pros then bc the oneshot mentions Izuku and Hitoshi encouraging you the Pro. This will affect the timeline of Shigs/the LoV H A R D. The end result, though, is Shig sitting pretty on that fucking thrown, reader looking up at him with complete and total devotion in her heart and mind.
- You, Twice and Spinner are out getting things--easy first mission, you’re useful for gathering shit as you are right now bc you’re not a popular hero and you’re wearing a wee sick mask with casual clothes. You literally look like every other citizen.
- Except to your close friend, Hitoshi. He can tell, he knows, he’d recognize you anywhere--ya’ll didn’t talk everyday, or even every other day, but he knows you and has been losing it. Because he thought if anyone, you’d go to him like you always did when you were feeling lost.
- Idk, I wanna highlight the fact that you can’t save everyone in the way you want to but that everyone finds their own kind of peace. Even if it’s more socially unacceptable (like my kink use or xreader love). Kinda hard/impossible for him to accept though, because it’s literally a life of villainy she’s turned to, though she doesn’t plan on killing people--OOF, that’s gonna have to be a HUGE thing to address. How does she even begin to rationalize the killing/destruction of innocents?
- Not even close to saying she’s perfect, in fact the whole point is to write out the imperfections, but the application in this sort of situation will need to be addressed. WHEN SHE SEES HERSELF ON TV? They’d have a great interaction between someone who fought so hard to not be seen as a villain and be the Hero he wants to be and someone who, even while having a fairly typical side-character path into Herodom, still chooses to defect. He’s intelligent but I don’t think he’d understand, offering the perfect foil to her own feelings and actions.
Villain x villain (heroes officially recognizing her as a whole ass villain) very well could be/should be split into two or whatever chapters bc big pivot point in their relationship
- She’s gonna have to help in a villainxvillain plot to really show her commitment/love for those she’s familied. She loves fiercely when she finds people she connects with and doesn’t let go if they’re as consistent as she is and shows the same sort of passion for her as she does for them. Twice and Toga have become major pillars for that (Spinner? I feel like they’d get along well. She games like a madlad. (Also, Shigs isn’t as huge on it as it is headcanonically, I enjoy the observation that he consumes more TV/newspaper bc bitch is smart af and always staying informed. Still games, though, swear <_< MAKE HEADCANNONS FOR HIM FOR THIS AU).
- Anyway, she’s an “extreme” personality when it comes to things/people she really loves; games, heroes, she’s very much a fan type that hyperfixates and takes hella notes/analysis on the things she loves, which really connected her and Izuku (and Mei, as a side note on who she vibes with) and is something her and Shigs really connect on. Her observations/prior Hero knowledge really make for interesting conversation and add to her value to him. She could have copies of Izuku’s shit because she just genuinely enjoyed that sort of thing, adding to the threat of her being on the opposing side--something the Heroes wouldn’t really accept until this chapter.
- The Heroes should probs show again, though those that are less able to see her as a person that just needs help. They represent society seeing things as that black and white and this is when she’s officially slotted over into the black. Much like Gran Torino and Tenko, they can’t see her as anything else but a villain at this point.
- It just confirms to her and him/LoV x10 where she stands, being on that side of such a restricting label, and so easily too. To her, she’s doing what she needs to live. So are her new friends/family. She doesn’t even look over to him for approval/guidance when ranting about those who fall between the cracks because the LoVs/HIS ideals are hers, with or without him now. They always were, but he was the safe space, the safe “ok, go ahead” she needed to be herself. She’s fighting to be herself, and for those less able to fight (those with less of an audience/traction/credibility/chance to even be heard in any sort of capacity) to be themselves.
- I really would love to emphasise her expertise in analytics… Sad she didn’t know anyone in support course or whatever the fuck Nighteye technically is bc if she’d been properly steered/given another option despite her above average “Hero” Quirk she might’ve thrived in a different environment. But, alas, she wasn’t, and her incredibly specific skills are used to further Shig’s goals in one way or another. Knowledge is power.
- Maybe this chapter could include a flashback to her going back to her place with Kurogiri before she was really considered gone/MIA to show that one of the main things she made sure to bring to the LoV was the backed up information/analysis she and Midoriya made for funsies and for strategic purposes. An easy backup she could make--that would also leave a copy on the computer so it doesn’t look like anything was “stolen.” Would have the Heroes taking longer to realize the villains have way more information than they would ever want them to. She was a UA student with the mains so the information is beyond useful and valuable, especially with the newer underground Heroes.
- This could be another little contention point to show just how far she’s come mentally--as much as she still loves Hitoshi as a person, she can’t allow her family to be taken out so easily by such a powerful Quirk.
- Would be a really dope way to show how well they work, plan and vibe together more like partners that value each other’s opinions now. Though I do want to stick to him giving her as little of his thoughts as possible, because he doesn’t even let the others know his detailed plans; they’re always a “just trust me, I trust you. We’ll get our revenge/get Giran free/do this or that.” It’s always basically a request for their trust and cooperation, which is so cool.
- SO IF this whole chapter is about planning for something, the next could be the final/big boss battle that leads him to take that damn throne. What would it be? Bc if it’s not at all Hero involved, there’s no point in spending a whole chapter outlining how useful she is in that way. Can’t get the Heroes to take down the army because that’d cancel out all the cool developments of Shigs AND the money/throne that comes with PLF that is supremely imortant for the last chapter.
- Honestly, MVA would be perfect but would just have to have the chillins aged bc again Hitoshi is just the perfect character to challenge her development. But she’d see him protecting his own and it would just CLICK for her much in the way it did for Spinner, but like… that shit hit different, he a true ride or die bitch and she fully sees herself as one of those--he does too since he’s attacking and protecting her as well. It’s the first time she sees him in action to protect something and it. Just. Is. Perfect. MM.
- THIS HAS GOTTA BE THE SECOND TO LAST CHAPTER. OFFICIAL: THE PLF BATTLE IS THE CHAPTER BEFORE THE PURE FLUFF/NORMAL GOINGS ON IN THE NEW PFL BASE WITH SHIG AS THE KING. It’ll bring shit down from the action of the last chapter and then build up the sexual tension for the last chapter.
Redefine/emphasize changes
- Gotta be at least one pure him x reader chapter that really redefines and solidifies what are, though should still build up to that. One together that really pushes it to the brink of worship. Mostly her POV but reasonably his.
- MAYBE one more with his POV mainly, an inverse of hers/the last, with more emphasis on him and how she’s helped solidify his dynamic with his team and his goals.
- But like this is a reflection piece, a time for looking over things and at least accepting a little bit of what they each feel. Idk, don’t want to do the whole jealousy route but would that be necessary for him? Is he the type that would need an outside force threatening to take her away (whether her smarts or whole self)? I just hate how overdone it, but a tiny bit of romantic clashing (that simply makes him realize shit, not go feral and claim her AS GREAT AS THAT WOULD BE). He just kinda quietly seethes as the realization hits him in the face. Leads him to subtly test her reactions to certain commands from him, toeing the line of a BDSM relationship and just straight trying her out.
Basically, paint a picture of you being his completely devoted, will-die-for-him chick. The flashbacks will show the physical connection, but the current/present will be all about exploring the deeply mental hold he has on you--and you have on him.
