Chapter Text
“Wow, Kacchan” said Kaminari from the doorframe. “You look stunning!”
Bakugou rolled his eyes and looked at the boy on the reflection of the mirror where he was currently trying to get his hair the right angle.
“Whatever, I just got anything on” he lied.
The truth was that he had put so much thought on his outfit that he had even considered texting his mom to ask for advice. Luckily, he found something that pleased him before going to that extend. He was wearing white snickers and black slacks with a lose white shirt with its sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and it was unbuttoned just enough to show off a pair of necklaces and part of his pectorals.
“Right, because you always were a belt” Kaminari teased him before walking inside the room.
“What are you doing here anyways?”
“I was hoping you could explain this math problem before your date, but It can also be after” he threw himself on Bakugou’s bed with annoying comfort. His notebook landed open somewhere near the pillow, causing some sheets to scrunch, but Kaminari didn’t seem to mind.
Bakugou considered throwing some explosions at him to get him out of his room, but his presence was actually helping him calm down.
His dinner —he was still refusing to call it a date— with Todoroki had to wait for three whole weeks. First, they had to go through a week of exams, for which Bakugou was extremely busy as he had to tutor his friends to keep them from failing any classes. After that, they still had to ask for Mr. Aizawa’s permission to go out of school, and for that, Todoroki had to fill a very long form explaining where they were going, what would they do and how long will it take them. Thing he took to heart and wrote every detail of his plan for their dinner, which took a whole other week.
Thing Bakugou found out when Mr. Aizawa wish them look on their date after telling Todoroki before class that they had his permission.
And despite how much Bakugou had insisted the past few weeks that it was not a date —and the times Todoroki humored him by agreeing—, he was still nervous to go out and have dinner with the half and half boy. And it wasn’t helping that he was still clueless as to where they were going, since Todoroki insisted on keeping it a surprise.
“If it were a date—which is fucking not…” he mumbled with nervousness as he turned to watch at the boy laying on his bed. “Do you really think I look okay?”
Kaminari’s face lit up and he lowered his upper body to look straight at him, “Kacchan, you look way better than okay!”
“Whatever” he tried to hide his growing smile but failed miserably at it.
“Relax, I bet everything would be alright. You just gotta have fuuuun” he sang the last word.
After that Bakugou went back to looking at himself in the mirror one last time to decide that he was looking decent enough for whatever plans Todoroki had for the night.
“I’ll beat the solution of that math problem into your head tomorrow morning. Now fuck off.”
“No need to be rude, Kacchan. I was simply checking on you since I know Kirishima is out on a date of his own” came his explanation.
Bakugou chuckled, “like I need your shitty concern.”
“Right…” Kaminari played with his own fingers in a nervous manner. “I just thought that there could still be things you don’t want to discuss with Kirishima, and that maybe I could be there for you.”
He wanted to explode his face. But the truth was that there had been many things he didn’t know how to deal with, and while normally he could go to his best friend to vent out, this was something that he just could not tell him.
He had confessed to Kirishima and admitted out loud that he wanted to move on from his unrequited crush but saying it and doing it were two very different things. And while he took the decision to own his feelings instead of hiding them, the truth was that it was rather awkward every time he made Kirishima’s love alarm sound and they had to pretend it didn’t ring. It was also awkward to have Todoroki make his alarm beep every possible time, no matter who was there to witness it.
In fact, it had been two weeks ago when he decided to turn his love alarm off. All it took was a strange coincidence that he arrived at the classroom at the same time a girl who liked Todoroki walked past the door. Todoroki thought it had been him who made his love alarm sound and his whole face lit like it had never. It was a little painful to see that light die once the number went down again after the girl was out of radius.
“I guess I am worried…”
“Holly shit!” Kaminari shrieked in surprise and rose his head with his open eyes staring right at him. There was a big smile on his face, “you are actually going to open up to me!”
“I guess I fucking touched bottom.”
“Now now, this is a safe space” he sat Indian style while trying to hide his growing smile. “Please tell me what you are worried about.
“If I even hear that word goes around of anything I tell you, you are dead.”
His threat helped to make the electric boy finally stop smiling, but he was still looking rather happy about this whole thing. Bakugou dropped on his desk chair and let a defeated sigh out. It did feel like touching rock bottom, but he had nothing to lose.
“It’s just that this stupid alarm keeps messing things up. First it makes things with shitty hair so fucking awkward, and then it makes icy hot sad.” He frowns and adverts his gaze so the other can’t see the blush of his face.
“I see, that’s why you keep your love alarm off” Kaminari deduced right away while he stroked his chin in a thoughtful manner that only made him look ridiculous. Bakugou couldn’t believe he was supposed to help him feel better.
“Yeah! I’m sure his girlfriend already picked up on what happened because she won’t stop looking at me weird whenever I’m around them. And he might not say anything, but I can see the small changes on his behavior with all his worrying over leading me on.”
“That’s just Kirishima caring for you in his own way” the shorter boy explained softly. “I bet he would forget about it soon and you’ll go back to how things were before.”
“That’s only half of my worries…” he looked down at his own hands, but he could feel Kaminari’s pity eyes on him. Lucky for the other, it actually felt nice voicing his thoughts for once. “I have never had a problem with being a jerk, but what if I can’t return the half and half bastard’s feelings?”
“You are not obliged to like him back” he got up from the bed and walked over to Bakugou to put a comforting hand over his shoulder. “In fact, you don’t even have to go on this dinner with him if it makes you uncomfortable.”
Bakugou knew that.
In fact, he considered many times to call the whole thing off and spent his precious time training or studying. But when he thought of those mismatched eyes looking at him so excited when he agreed to go out with him, he just couldn’t find himself able to take that away from him.
Fucking Deku and his usual crap about other people’s feelings was beginning to rub off on him.
“I just wished I could control my fucking feelings. That way I could stop liking shitty hair and love Todoroki back!”
Kaminari took a step back in surprise at the sudden burst.
“Kacchan…” he didn’t finish his phrase and when Bakugou turned to look at him, he was smiling at him like had just been told a joke.
“I’m glad you are finding this entertaining, dunce face.”
“It’s nothing” he had a complicit smile. “I just have the feeling your dinner might go better than expected.”
Bakugou sent him a glare before huffing and grabbing his cellphone from the desk to check it was already time to meet with Todoroki.
“Thanks for fucking nothing.”
He bagged his cellphone and his wallet before heading for the exit of the room. He didn’t have the energy to kick Kaminari out of his room.
“Call me if you need anything!”
In the common room, he found a group of his classmates surrounding a rather confused Todoroki, who was trying to get to the front door but was being held back by Mina’s strong grip.
There were Uraraka and Jirou fixing the boy’s clothes even though he already looked perfect with his white t-shirt and black jacket —and fuck, he must have been using his quirk to regulate his temperature because it was really hot outside—. Deku was mumbling random facts about Bakugou, which he would have to yell at him for later. Iida was chopping the air while screaming how important it was to follow the etiquette rules and respect the dorms curfew. Momo and Mina were giving him advice on how to behave during the date, and to his surprise, they were the ones Todoroki was paying attention to.
“And remember, you have to tell him he looks good no matter how he looks when he comes down!” Mina exclaimed like it was vital.
“But he always looks pretty.”
Bakugou could hear all of the extras owing at Todoroki’s words, and he was surprised to discover that it made him feel fuzzy instead of angry at being called pretty.
He had been called handsome, but never pretty. He looked too tough for that. But somehow, listening to Todoroki say it out loud made him feel like maybe he was.
He gulped hard, shoving that discovery to analyze later, and fully walked into the common room where everyone could see him.
“Are you ready to go?” He hoped that he wasn’t blushing as much as he thought he was, but it went to hell once Todoroki’s eyes opened wide with joy once he saw him. Then he felt fuzzy inside again.
“Yes.”
Their classmates moved away from Todoroki so they could walk freely to the entrance, and they were decent enough to try whispering for once instead of speaking normally like they weren’t there.
“My sister is waiting for us outside” the half and half said once they were out of the dorm. At Bakugou’s questioning glance, he explained “she is going to drive us.”
Bakugou nodded in understanding but remained quiet, making the two of them walk in silence to the school’s front gate.
“You look beautiful” Todoroki interrupted the silence just before they reached the gate.
“You don’t have to say it just because Mina told you to…”
“I know.”
Bakugou smiled with a light blush because he actually believed the boy was being honest and not just polite.
“You look pretty too.”
Now it was time for Todoroki to blush. He didn’t say anything else, but his joy was obvious to anyone with eyes.
They walked in comfortable silence through the school. Prove of how used to each other they had become over the past weeks, with Todoroki insisting on spending as much time with Bakugou as possible, and the later not minding.
Outside was Fuyumi waiting for them on a black car. The girl was talking over the phone but hung up as soon as she saw the boys.
“Nice to see you again, Bakugou.”
“Nice to see you too” the blond replied with an unusual calm tone. It wasn’t like the girl hadn’t seen his explosive temper, but it felt very different now after everything that happened with her younger brother. Besides, she was kind of nice.
“Hello, Fuyumi” the boy greeted her with a nod. The girl nodded back and then started the car.
“How have the classes been for you two?”
Bakugou looked at the other boy thinking he was going to answer her sister, but he was going through something on his cellphone and didn’t register the question thrown at him, making the blond grunt in annoyance. But not enough for her to hear him. He wanted to make a good —second?— impression.
“We just finished a rough week. It was a test after another, and if it weren’t for the lack of bruises, I would have thought it was the end of the semester” he explained, keeping his vocabulary family friendly for the girl.
“I bet you did great, like usual.” At that Bakugou frowned in confusion. He said often how he was the best at everything but having someone else recognize it felt kind of weird, specially since she wasn’t that close to him to know it. Fuyumi must have saw his confusion on the rear-view mirror, and decided to explain why she said that “Shoto won’t stop talking about how great you are whenever he comes home. Honestly we just let him because it’s nice to have him speaking instead of staying in silence.”
“Fuyumi!” her brother didn’t sound exactly mad, but there was a tinge of anguish to tell her to stop talking about that.
“He talks about me?” he asked without thinking. He was a little worried of what he could have possibly told his family. Did they know they might not be just friends after this dinner?
The girl smiled mischievously and looked once at her brother on the mirror before focusing solely on the other boy.
“We honestly didn’t know he could talk so much. It’s always ‘Bakugou did this at class’, ‘Bakugou said this to me’, ‘Bakugou taught me a new move during training’, ‘Bakugou is so pretty’. We were all really happy for him when he told us you were going out today. Endeavor was so pissed that Shoto didn’t let him be your driver today.”
“I’m beginning to think he would have been a better choice”, Todoroki mumbled in the opposite direction, probably hiding his embarrassment if his red ears were any indicator.
“Come on! I can’t be that bad!” She laughed at her brother’s unconfines.
Bakugou watch the whole exchange in silence, amazed by the huge difference in their interactions from that time he had dinner with them, and how nice it was to think that maybe they were something closer to a family now. It was so nice that he almost looked over the fact that, apparently, the entire Todoroki household knew about their youngest member’s crush on him.
“Besides, it’s tradition to embarrass your siblings in front of their dates!”
That was enough to bring Bakugou out of his mind and finally pay more attention to what they were saying. The half and half was fully looking at her now and any sign of his embarrassment gone. Instead, he was back to his impassive demeanor.
“It’s not a date…” the younger Todoroki mumbled in response.
At that, Bakugou decided to speak up for the first time in a while.
“I mean… It might be.”
Okay, so he had been the first to say it wasn’t a date, but to be fair, the two had dressed up and were about to have dinner just the two while apparently the other’s entire family thought it was a date. So why not just go ahead and admit it out loud. And Todoroki’s gleeful face told him he had said the right thing.
Fuyumi didn’t say anything else for the rest of the ride, she just kept driving in silence while occasionally looking at the boys trough the rear-view mirror.
Fuck, he must be really nervous to be on his first date, because the moment they stepped in front of the restaurant, he could feel his stomach tying in a knot. Maybe it was the fear of letting the boy down.
“Is Endeavor paying for this or was the poll really that good?” the blond asked once he caught sight of the rather fancy restaurant, they were going to eat in.
It wasn’t one of those etiquette places where you needed to be wearing formal attire to be allowed in, but it was definitely not a fast-food place like he had thought. He was glad he decided to put more effort in his outfit instead of just coming dressed in his usual saggy pants.
Todoroki ignored his question and instead offered his hand shyly. Once he took it, he was gently led inside, where there was a woman in a nice dress asking if they had reservations, to what the half and half nodded and said his last name out loud, and one second later they were escorted to a booth on the back of the place that had many Christmas lights hung around and in the center of the table was small bouquet next to a single candle that was yet to be lit.
Quickly came a waiter who offered them menus and left as soon as he arrived, staying barely enough to tell them he’d be back to take their orders in a moment and to call him if they wanted anything.
“I’ve heard the steak is rather delicious in this place” commented the heterochromatic boy in a snobbish tone.
“I see…”
“Would you like to order a bottle wine, or do you prefer champagne to celebrate us being together this wonderful night?”
The blond looked at him waiting to see if that was some kind of joke lost due to his monotone voice, but he looked dead serious.
“We are underage. We can’t drink” he explained as a matter of fact.
“Right…” he adverted his gaze in defeat and then looked up and scrunched up his eyes. It looked like he was thinking very hard. Eventually his face lit up and he looked back at Bakugou with a flirtatious look and said, “appears we share the same passions… three anyway.”
Bakugou’s mouth opened and closed a few times before he managed to reply.
“Did you just fucking used a James Bond line?” Todoroki seemed like a deer caught in the headlights, mouth wide open in surprise at being caught.
“I didn’t think you would have seen them.”
“The hag loves James Bond’s movie, especially the old ones”, and maybe he did too, but Todoroki didn’t need to know that. “It doesn’t even fit the situation… Is that why you asked if I wanted wine or champagne?”
“That’s actually something I heard Natsuo said to his girlfriend the other night. She seemed to have liked it…”
Todoroki blushed all the way to his ears in utter embarrassment and Bakugou couldn’t help but laugh loudly at the other boy, because that was so endearing in a way that only Todoroki could manage. He wondered when had he began to think the boy’s silliness was cute, but he didn’t dwell too much on it.
“Why would you even use those shitty lines?”
“Because I’ve never gone on a date before and I wanted to impress you…” Todoroki confessed, still not daring to meet Bakugou’s eyes.
That warmed something in Bakugou’s chest, just like back at school when Todoroki had called him pretty. It was different than the way he felt when Kirishima grabbed his hand at Kamino, but it was something he could definitely not ignore.
“It’s my first date too, you know?” it was his time to feel embarrassed too. Fucking Todoroki, making him feel like he needed to be more open about his feelings. “Besides, Bond doesn’t have anything on you when you don’t think it too much.”
“Is that so?” his eyebrow lifted in a flirty-James-Bond-like way.
“That’s it. I’m fucking leaving.”
He didn’t. But that helped to ease the tension and the other boy was able to relax.
Soon the waiter came back and left after taking their orders, both settling down for the steak.
Being together had become easy ever since they were forced to take the supplementary classes back in their first year, then the confession happened, and they somehow got closer. So, talking was easy. Whether it was about the awful week they just had at school, how were their latest patrols or the shitty show they both watch on their free time, but they could always find something to talk about and it wouldn’t feel forced.
They barely felt time pass by until their food arrived, and the waiter lit the candle between them.
“So… you told your family about me,” Bakugou mentioned at some point, not able to hold back his curiosity anymore. It had been enough to not ask right away what the boy had said.
Todoroki almost choked with his food at hearing the question. It took him a moment to compose himself, but even after that, he was as red as his hair, and he wouldn’t hold eye contact for more than a few seconds.
“Fuyumi might have exaggerated…”
“So, Endeavor didn’t want to drive us tonight?”
The half and half laughed, and his shoulders relaxed.
“He did, but luckily, he had a very important mission tonight that could not be rescheduled or passed on to another hero.” He raised his cup of cranberry juice, probably toasting that his father couldn’t embarrass him on his first date.
“He’s come a long way down, hasn’t he?”
He decided to humor the boy and clicked their cups together, but it was mostly because he felt sort of glad that the two had improved their relationship and could make jokes about the other without it being weird or depressing.
“But what did you tell them?” Bakugou pushed, because he’d be damned if he didn’t find out what was being said about him at the Todoroki household.
The boy made a pause and pouted. He considered for a moment if it’d be okay to tell him, and just how much he should leave out.
“They know I like you and that I was really happy when you agreed to come with me tonight.”
“How did they take it?”
“They were more surprised about me liking someone than it been a boy” Todoroki answered right away. He probably wasn’t aware that Japan was still a conservative society. Or maybe he did and that’s why he reserved a booth in the back of the restaurant.
“I thought your father wanted you to have a quirk marriage like he did.”
“He said he’s sure that we both would make it into the top 10 heroes before we turn 20, and that might make us the number one couple,” he rolled his eyes, but he was smiling fondly. Bakugou would be lying if he said he didn’t think the same at least once.
That made Bakugou feel overwhelmed. He hadn’t even told his parents he liked boys, although that wouldn’t be a big issue considering the fashion industry had many LGBTQ+ persons. But still, it made him feel like he should call them to at least tell them he might have gone on a date.
“Damn right! No other hero couple could beat us!” He decided to let himself get carried away with the conversation instead of overanalyzing the things he was saying.
“Deku and Uravity could give us a run for our money.”
“Pink cheeks might be a problem, but we can take Deku out in a second.”
“What about Earphone Jack and Chargebolt?”
“Not a real challenge,” Bakugou was openly smiling at this point. Talking about being the best was his favorite pastime, and Todoroki was doing a great job at boosting him up. “We could be the best.”
“We will.”
Todoroki was looking like just a moment ago when he said that, but there were two things that made Bakugou’s heart stop with those words. The first, was the affection the boy had been seeing him with, like he was incredibly cute and amazing, instead of the angry gremlin he was sure he looked like when he talked about beating others. Second, was the conviction in his voice, like he was completely sure that it would eventually happen, as if it were set in stone.
But then he realized that he didn’t mind that at all.
The food arrived and they were able to eat with casual conversation all night long. Proving once more that the half and half could be smooth if he wanted to, without needing to quote old movies.
Fuyumi picked them up just in time to make sure they could be back at the dorms before their curfew. This time, she was considerably less chatty, but that was mostly because the other two boys seemed really focused on their own conversation and she decided to let them have their moment.
The night had grew colder and Bakugou was beginning to regret wearing just his thin shirt. Having grown use to wearing extra layers in order to get enough sweat to heat if necessary, he had became considerably less resistant to cold temperatures. Making their walk through campus rather unpleasant for him.
It tool Todoroki a second to realize he had started shivering from cold and then took off his jacket to put it over Bakugou’s shoulders.
“The fuck? We are almost at the dorms. I don’t need it.” Bakugou protested.
“But I only wore it in case I got this chance.”
Well that explained why he went trough the trouble of having to regulate his own temperature earlier.
“Fine. But it’s only because you wanted it so bad.”
“Thank you.”
Fucking sap. Making him feel so weird inside.
Sadly, it couldn’t all go perfect on their first date.
“Can you please turn on your love alarm?” said Todoroki once they reached Bakugou’s room door, and it felt like a cold bucket of water being thrown over the blond.
He gave a quick glance to his left and saw the light coming from under Kirishima’s door, indicating that the boy was there. Less than 10 meters away.
“Why? It’s useless…”
“I just want to make your alarm sound.”
Bakugou tried to divert, but Todoroki appeared too determined to let him get away with that. He knew the boy wanted to see if it could be the other way around after their date.
If he had to be honest, he felt like his night with Todoroki had been —like fucking pink cheeks would say— magical, and he didn’t think of Kirishima at all. So maybe…
No.
What if he still liked Kirshima?
Then Todoroki would not only see how his alarm didn’t ring. He would also hear Kirishima’s sound from behind the door.
Would Todoroki be disappointed again? Would he look heartbroken like the last time? Would he still like Bakugou if he couldn’t make his love alarm sound?
“I think that’s it for tonight…” The blond said in almost a whisper.
“Bakugou, come on…”
“Good night, Todoroki.”
In the end, he didn’t need to turn his love alarm on to upset Todoroki, because his cold tone had been enough to put that sad expression on his face, almost making him take back his last words and just do as he had been asked.
“Good night, Bakugou.”
And he left.
He almost screamed at him to turn around with the poor excuse that he still had his jacket, but he also wanted to keep it for the night because it smelled like Todoroki.
So he silently resigned and went inside his bedroom to rethink his choices.
It was way past his bedtime, when Bakugou realized that he was not getting any sleep that night. He just kept thinking about the disappointment in Todoroki’s face and the fear of loosing whatever they had been building for the last weeks.
He thought of going to Dunce face’s room to see if the boy could give him some wisdom that could resolve this. But one look at his cellphone told him that it was 2 A.M. and everyone was probably already sleeping. Except him.
His date with Todoroki repeated in his mind over and over, giving him some sort of relief, until the moment he got to remember how it ended badly because of him.
Had Todoroki already called his family to tell them how shitty it had been?
Had Todoroki talked with his nerd squad and discussed how much better he would be without Bakugou?
Was Todoroki repeating their date on his mind like he was?
Was Todoroki sleeping peacefully because he didn’t care anymore?
Did Todoroki still like him?
Todoroki. Todoroki. Todoroki.
He realized that he would remain a complete mess unless he could at least answer that one question that weighed more than the others in his mind.
He walked to his balcony just to confirm that all the other boys in the dorm were already sleeping and took out his cellphone. He unlocked it and locked it a few times before leaving it on and going to the damn app.
He glanced once to Kirishima’s balcony, but he knew the boy was a heavy sleeper and a simple beep wouldn’t have any effect. Then he glanced up to Todoroki’s to be slightly disappointed that the light was off. Maybe he wasn’t as affected as Bakugou hoped.
Without taking away his eyes from Todoroki’s Balcony, he turned his love alarm on and was instantly relieved to hear the ring coming from his cellphone as a number one lighted up his screen.
At least Todoroki still liked him.
And just like the other night, it became an addictive feeling and decided to turn his alarm on and off multiple times to find joy every time it rang, because it meant that Todoroki still liked him, and he hadn’t completely ruined it.
He kept doing it until one time he turned it on, and it didn’t ring.
He repeated the same process again to see if it had been nothing but a bug, only to keep staring at his screen with the big cero on it.
What could have possibly happened to make it stop ringing?
There had not been any light or noticeable sound coming from the boy’s room, so he was definitely still asleep.
A million possibilities ran through Bakugou’s mind as he tried to find an answer that wouldn’t shatter his heart. Like, maybe his phone ran out of battery, maybe the app got another update that he didn’t hear of and therefor wouldn’t work just at this time, maybe it was because of maintenance of the interface, maybe his own cellphone had a connectivity problem…
Or maybe Todoroki stopped liking him and the previous rings had been nothing, but a cruel fantasy created by his mind to make himself happy.
Soon the tears began to run down his cheeks while he kept seeing the ugly cero on his screen that appeared to be laughing at him. He crawled back to his bed to cry under his covers, grabbing Todoroki’s jacket on his way, and suddenly there were no reasonable arguments that could explain the lack of the one heart he wished to see. All he could think of was Todoroki moving on from him.
He almost missed the ring coming from his cellphone and the number one appearing on his screen.
Then there was a cero again.
Another one.
Cero.
One.
Cero.
One.
And then there was a knock on his door.
He stared at the entrance in shock, wondering if he was imagining things now. Maybe he had fallen asleep after all, and this was just a dream. He pinched his arm and then another knock on the door told him it was real.
“Who the fuck knocks at two in the morning?” Bakugou asked with a hoarse voice that delated he had been crying.
“You know…” Todoroki’s voice sounded from the other side of the door, making the blond scramble from his bed towards the entrance. “I think I understand now why you turned your love alarm on and off.”
Bakugou then opened the door in a hurry, not caring if the other found him a mess with his eyes red and puffy from crying. He was more focused on the cellphone on Todoroki’s hand that had a number one shinning bright in the center.
“It feels nice,” the half and half smiled softly at him. “But for the record, you were the one that woke me up with all the times you decided to make my love alarm sound in the middle of the night.”
“I… What?”
Understanding finally reached Bakugou as it became obvious that he had made Todoroki’s love alarm sound. Over and over. Like a psycho.
He felt the way his whole face heated up with embarrassment at being caught. It was one thing when Todoroki could hear his love alarm sounding over and over from his own room, but actually making HIS sound at ungodly hours made him feel like some sort of creepy stalker.
And just how worried he had to be to not hear the ring coming from the boy’s room?
Maybe he had been to worried about it being Kirishima’s.
“Fuck… I didn’t mean to… I didn’t know…”
He struggled to find something to say in his defense or that could possibly be as cool as Todoroki’s confession. But it was not necessary, because Todoroki decided to close the space between them and kiss him.
Then, as he was having the slopiest first kiss to ever exist, he realized the fundamental truth that he was in love with Todoroki Shoto. He had probably been for a while now but had just been too anxious to notice the painfully obvious signs that could confirm it.
So that’s why Kaminari said that earlier.
When they parted, there was a string of saliva hanging from their mouths and Todoroki was quick to clean in with his sleeve. That was gross, but the two were way too flabbergasted about having kissed that everything else was irrelevant.
“That was…” Todoroki was the first to break the silence. Their faces were still so close that he could feel the half and half’s breath on his face.
“Fucking terrible,” Bakugou completed with a snort. His smile said that he didn’t really mind it. “Let’s try again.”
Todoroki hummed his approval and then leaned back in to Kiss the blond with more gentleness this time. He grabbed Bakugou by the waist and pulled him closer, while the blond cupped his head and moved his hands through the strands of white and red hair.
There was less saliva this time despite there being more tongue. It was still not the best kiss, but it was getting there.
And Bakugou decided that he wanted to keep trying again and again.
