Chapter Text
Stars looked as if they were passing my ship, and the ship wasn't moving. Technology was labeling all the galaxies in view. Then, with a blink, a laser looking like a star hit me. I fainted by surprise, and the ship went down. I could feel the heat as Radiant Pillar BC-1 rubbed against the atmosphere, setting the ship on fire. When I woke up, I was lying down next to a ship with sparks coming out of the engine, on snow. There was a giant crack in the ship's glass, and through it, I could see blood. It camouflaged well with the red velvet chair, however. My exosuit was saying something I could barely understand. "LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS - ONLINE. MULTITOOL MINING SYSTEM - ONLINE. JET PROPULSION - ONLINE."
I got up, fumbling around like a Snorlax sleeping on those bridges after they woke up. I held up my multitool, and it was heavily covered in scratches and dents. I put it back in its holder, and I walked towards my cargo boxes. They had gotten filled with goop and rusty metal, and I decided to throw that out. From the other containers, I received things to help with life support, such as carbon, and sodium. It would be helpful, in the area I was in. I checked my multitool. Its scanner was damaged, and the only working function was the mining beam.
I walked towards the ship, and I pulled out an SFCD, or a Starship Function Control Device, and pressed then held the button that showed 'X'. The glass rose up as quick as a fly when it sees a swatter, and out of a small "empty" slot, came a foldable stainless steel ramp, which luckily was completely working. I walked up and jumped on the dark red velvet chair, and pressed a button on Radiant Pillar's control panel. Then, on the screen, was something unpredictable.
ITERATION #54672918 (deleted)
Reflective Shield - Online ; -ZZHHHTT- Pulse Engine -KSSHHHT- Heavily Damaged; Luanch Thrusters -KZZHHT- OFFLINE.
I have no sense of how I got here, and what happened. I am stranded on this strange planet, with no protection, with danger unpredictable. Sentinels, predators, and hazardous plants. The screen blurred like when you switch a channel on the TV, and then it said something different.
RADIANT PILLAR BC-1 - DAMAGED. REQUEST ASSISTENCE OR LEAVE?
I tapped Request Assistence, believing that someone could be here, waiting to help. I gaze at the sunny sky, and I can see other ships passing by, stars, birds, and much more. I decided to leave my ship, and start repairing it. I got an Exosuit Notice telling me to go towards my Distress Beacon and salvage whatever I can from it. So, I went towards it, and turned it on. No signals went out, but it opened a small hatch, and I removed a planetary chart that could help with my journey. I pulled it out of my Exosuit, and tapped 'Plot Route'. Then I stopped, and it sent out a large beam of light up the sky, and back down in just five seconds. Then, suddenly on my visor, I saw something that looked like a crescent. When I stared directly at it, my visor showed "Stranger's Coordinates?".
I started my journey, but first I scrapped oxygen and other life support items to help me from wherever I could. Then I started walking. I walked and walked, started running, and got impatient and did my special travel technique, punching and then activating the propulsion system. Then I saw it! A large tower was standing just 130 units away, but then my hazard protection said something awful.
"WEATHER WARNING: STORM INCOMING."
I had two choices, have a leap of faith towards the building, or take shelter in the cave right next to me. I decided to clear out the storm inside the cave, but it was boring, I had no idea what to do. So, I pulled out my multitool, covered in dents, scratches, and more, and mined things. Only when I realized my scanner still wasn't repaired. I went towards a clunck of rocks and mined them, giving me the ferrite dust to repair my scanner. I also remembered a recipe for the analysis visor I need from previous journeys. So I mined some carbon and di-hydrogen crystals. Then I got a message saying that the storm was clearing, I waited for a little, and then walked out. I went towards the building once again. I went inside the second building, much smaller. I press a button next to a device that said next to it 'Holo-Archive'.
"ACCESSING ARCHIVE.... 6/7 LOGS CORRUPTED. ENTRY #4924A FOLLOWS. NO-ONE -kzztk- Making this recording in case -kzzzkt- leaving behind -kzzhkt- in the fabricator -kzzzkt- might be of some use. -kzzzkt- Visor damaged -kzzkt- can't find ship." An option pops up, showing 'Recover supplies'. I tap it.
The log finished and the machines whirrs to life, spitting out the hermetic seal I need for my ship. Whoever it was that led me here, whoever sent me this message, could they have found themselves in the same situation as I do now? I leave the Archive, and I move to the side. I see a golden cube levitating over a silver pad, and I press something next to it. I have navigation data that could possibly help me find my ship. I get an exosuit notice saying that I need an Analysis Visor to reach my ship and repair the Pulse Engine. Luckily I had the two materials I needed from the cave, and I built it. It took some searching, but I found my starship icon. I set towards it, and I reached in a long time. I recovered my Life Support and Hazard Protection inside the ship, and with my remaining oxygen, I crafted a Life Support enhancer with it. Then, I needed a refiner. I had the materials to make it. So, I built it, but then I ran out of my extra ferrite dust. I got out of my ship and mined every single rock I saw until I had 50 ferrite dust. Then my Analysis Visor sent me a message.
"CORRUPTED SENTINEL FORCES TRIGGERED."
I scrambled to my ship in panic, and frantically searched though my exosuit. I could see one thing that could have lured them towards me. Salvageable Scrap. They were waiting like a dog when they're owner went out for shopping. I didn't know what to do. Luckily, they ran out of battery and I got out of my ship. With the ferrite dust I had, I refined it and got 50 Pure Ferrite. Then I activated my scanner with a flexible kevlar string and searched for Di-Hydrogen Crystals, and I found some right behind my ship. It was a waste, because I wait long periods of time for my scanner to recharge, and it was right behind me. So I punched it, to avoid Sentinel Forces to get triggered and come start shooting me. Then I was done. I had everything to get of the planet. But I realized something. Whether I should make a Terrain Manipulator or not. I spent some time getting the Carbon Nanotubes to make it. Then I finally was ready to get off. I repaired the Pulse Engine and Launch Thruster with everything I had which was to be used, and then I got a message on the screen.
"STARSHIP FUNCTIONS - ONLINE."
I had never remembered something happier in my life. I got in my ship and took off, happy to be safe from the blizzards of doom on the planet.
