Chapter Text
Your shift was finally almost over after what felt like centuries. You were about to pack up and go to the changing room for the workers when a pro hero and detective walked in.
“Curiosity will truly be the death of me someday” you mutter to no one but yourself before pretending to busy yourself to hear the conversation the two men were having with the lady (owner) of the brothel.
You could hear bits and pieces of their discussion but you got the gist of it. They were speaking of a regular of yours. An odd guy who paid well and was overall respective so you ignored how he never spoke his name and only paid cash. The more you think of it now the more suspicious it seems, it’s shocking how you didn’t realize how obvious it was he’s a villain. You sigh at how oblivious you could be at times.
Just as you were getting lost in thought heard the lady of the house’s loud scratchy voice from always smoking yelling at something. Realizing she was calling your name you drew closer to her and the two men.
“Sorry Ma’am I wasn’t paying attention” you reply in an apologetic tone.
“I could tell!” God you hated her damn voice, always so loud and scratchy
“Yeah yeah. What do you want?” The question comes out with a sort of attitude you find hard to hide when tired
“These men want to speak with you before you head out.” The older lady clearly is upset with your attitude but doesn’t bother nagging you about it.
“Yes ma’am” sigh you were almost done too. Your curiosity really is the death

Once the old lady left you turned to the pro and detective. They looked like they were in casual clothes so you assumed they came for the services provided in the brothel. But just as you opened your mouth to speak the pro interrupted you. Rude much
“We aren’t here for those kinds of services.” His voice was the most monotone you’ve ever heard but anything is better than the old lady’s voice.
“Okay, so what the hell do you want?” Man you really need to start controlling your attitude better.
This time the detective spoke up “We heard you have a regular customer who happens to be a villain we’ve been investigating.” The way he spoke made it very obvious he didn’t want to be in the brothel any longer than he had to.
“Well snitches get stitches sooo.” God control yourself dumbass you can’t say that in front of a pro and someone of the law.
