Chapter Text
“Wemmbu!”Jaden yelled. He didn’t see what happened, just blood stained feathers flying everywhere and a lifeless body at the feet of Arachnid. Jaden didn’t know which one was able to save. He was going to puke at the sight. He felt a quick jab of a spear in his arm, and came back to reality. He grabbed the one with the stab in his side. He grabbed the one that could be saved. The one he knew. The one that can easily kill Arachnid. His blade felt heavy with blood. That was all they knew anyways, wasn’t it?

Wemmbu had been unconscious for a few hours now. Jaden didn’t have his elytra or an enderchest on him. They really were fucked, weren’t they? Jaden laughed at their helplessness. The purplette’s face was draining in color quickly, and he could feel his pulse slowing. He’s surprised he managed to get them out of there. But two that they cared about were left there. He would have to get Codmaster a grave. He died a painful but quick death.
Jaden had lost track of the time. He has been giving Wemmbu any totems that he had, which was about two. One popped almost instantly, and the other popped two minutes after reaching a door. It was a familiar door. Jaden didn’t know if Wemmbu was welcome here, but he surely wasn’t. This was just a last resort. Hopefully the blaze inside would understand the predicament the two were in. He knocked three times. Three turned into five. Right before he knocked again the door flung open, with FlameFrags holding a sword.
“Jaden bro you know you aren’t allowed here.”
“Maybe, but it’s a bit of an emergency that I’m sure you’d want to help me with.”
Flame took off his blindfold, confused at whatever the other man was trying to show him. He let out a small gasp, his eyes widening more than Jaden has seen before(but then again, Jaden never sees his eyes. Maybe he’s seen them once.). The blaze’s tail flicked quickly with worry, as he took Wemmbu, and practically teleported to another room. It seemed to be the guest room.
“What happened to him?!” Flame worriedly said. He saw Wemmbu as a frenemy, but still actually cared for him. Leaving him to die would only make him worse of a person.
“Well uh,” Jaden started, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to talk about it. “Arachnid kinda forced us into a Purge simulator if that’s what you want to call it. Then, he had us fight and whoever got back to his castle above the arena won. I think Wemmbu was just tired of working for him because him and Arachnid started arguing, then he tried to attack Arachnid. Obviously that didn’t work out”
“I can assume that.” The blaze stated bluntly. There was a very odd group of people in the room. A netherborn, an enderling, and a boring ass human. There could’ve been a fish and an aetherling too, but it was too late for that. “Why was he even working for him? There’s no way ties weren’t attatched.”
Jaden thought for a moment, before muttering, clearly hesitant, “Yeah. Egg was being held hostage by Arachnid. He was using Egg so he could control Wemmbu.”
A beat passed in the air.
“Where’s Egg?”
Complete silence. Jaden didn’t want to be the bearer of bad news.
“Arachnid killed him. I didn’t see it actually happen, but I think Wemmbu did. It was pretty screwed up.” Jaden hated the silence. He just wishes Wemmbu would wake up and make some stupid remark and attack one of them. Flame didn’t bother to continue the conversation.

It was around midnight when Wemmbu woke up. His head hurt. A lot. His body felt like it was shredded apart, but he couldn’t do much to fix that. Why was he here? Isn’t this Flame’s base? He let out a small groan, coughing quietly as he realized how long it had been without water. He’d be fine.
“Why am I here?..” His voice was raspy, and there was probably dried blood in his mouth he’d have to cough (or puke) out. Oh. He remembers. He remembers quite well. He remembers the sight of his best friend’s neck being cut. He remembers his head hitting the ground. He remembers the discolored blood from Egg that covered the ground before he passed out. He wasn’t sure if Egg or him shed more blood onto the cavern floors that day. Yellow and red made orange. Maybe Egg’s blood was on him too.
Wemmbu usually didn’t hate. Egg didn’t hate. But right now, he hated. Hate seemed to be all that was keeping him alive at this point. Maybe Wemmbu was born to be the embodiment of hate. It didn’t matter to him anymore. He had one thing to do before he himself ended up dying.
He quickly got up, yet still trying to be quiet. He could hear Flame and Jaden talking as they started to approach the guest room he was in.
“Fuck it.”, Wemmbu muttered under his breath. He grabbed his mace, Gambit, and broke the window. It wasn’t the most quiet but it was the only effective way to escape quickly. The glass flew to the grass outside, and he quickly pulled himself through the window. He could hear Flame yelling as the door opened but he didn’t care. He could feel his wounds, as they were definitely not healed in the slightest, but kept persevering. The glass shards that were still stuck to the window decided their new home was his arms and legs. It sucked that his wings were ripped so he couldn’t fly.
“Wemmbu! Get back what are you doing? Are you insane?!”
They were yelling at him but he didn’t care. He just wanted to get this done before Arachnid got his ego boost. All he knew was hatred and the feel of his feet hitting the ground as he ran. His heart was pounding. Maybe he should’ve exercised more like Egg had suggested they do at their old kingdom.
He didn’t notice the presence that watched him, or the flashes of white that would appear at the corner of his eyes.

The purple figure arrived at the spider’s den. The caves he hated so much. He could still smell the disgusting water and the blood that lined the walls. He stepped quietly into the domain, seeing soldiers patrolling and the entrance to Arachnid’s castle. He swore he saw white feathers on the ground still. Maybe they weren’t white anymore. They were a dark red. Maybe he would take one for safe keeping. It’s all he had left of Egg anyway.
“Arachnid.” Wemmbu stated as he saw the figure on the throne in front of him.
“Hello Wemmbu. I see you survived! How fun. Your little friend is dead. There’s no reason to be here.” The spider smiled. His foot was tapping on the ground. What an annoying sound. Wemmbu didn’t wait to begin. He flew up into the air using a windcharge. He didn’t have many left in his inventory after the last encounter. He’d have to make his last windcharges work.
Surprisingly, Arachnid’s guards didn’t come after him instantly. Even if they did he would most likely die. His armour was close to breaking, and he didn’t have much food. It’d be a joke to even think he had potions and totems on him. He tried macing Arachnid, and actually got a good hit on him, but he could feel the stitches Flame had put on his wounds starting to come undone. If he died would anyone try to avenge him?
He kept fighting. He wasn’t going to allow himself to stop. Soldiers eventually did start rushing over, and begin attacking him, but after his helmet broke he saw someone at the back of the crowd. They had white hair with wings on their head and a blue eye on their forehead. But it wasn’t Egg. Egg wasn’t translucent. Egg would be helping Wemmbu regain his armour. He looked happier like this, though.
Wemmbu was so focused on Egg’s spirit that he forgot about the fight. His brain blocked out the noise of the battle. He didn’t register the blades cutting his skin or Arachnid laughing. He didn’t hear when Flame and Jaden had started fighting too. He didn’t realize the battle had ended. He didn’t realize the soldiers were dead. He never noticed how his other two allies were trying to pick him off of the ground to get away. But he saw him. Egg looked like himself. Looking at Wemmbu like he would do something for him.
“I’m sorry” were the first and last thing he might’ve heard from Egg after his death. And now Wemmbu felt like his soul was being plucked apart like a flower field realizing Egg was really gone. But he was so tired. His body hurt more than ever as he came back to his senses. The only thing he was truly happy about was seeing Arachnid’s body on the ground with his soldiers, covered in blood.
