Chapter Text
"Wake up punk!"
Frisk groaned weakly, in the dark yet subconcious state she could barely respond "--huh?--"
"I said WAKE UP!"
Frisk was greeted with a tremendous slap on her face, with a hiss she tried to slowly reboot her senses, her cheek burned and her wrists seem to be behind her tied up tightly, she squints a bit after blinking a few times, a light shamelessly shone to her face making sure she couldn't see her surroundings, glancing slowly she tried to make sense of her slapper and of course she did not recognize the person at all. Red threads of hair shined faintly behind the light, the person seemed taller than her, if she was not wrong someone with a pony tail. This figure seemed to notice what she was trying to do, their scaly hand touched the base of the lamp to push it further to her face, blinding her even more. Frisk could only look away to her shoes, or rather lack thereof
Tuesday, that was the day Frisk read in her calendar, it was just tuesday, the week is just starting so why tHE FUCK WAS IT GETTING COMPLICATED
"Go easy on her undyne " a voice pointed "Yanno what she can do"
"oh I know alright" the other responded smiling, the same person owner of the scaled hand. Frisk had to narrow her vision a bit to adjust to the light and slowly realize it was a monster who was in front of her, a fish monster specifically, with angry yellowish eyes, blue scales and a toothed grin. And Frisk knows damn well if she shows how scared she actually is in front of this beast or any of her captors they would eat her alive
"How's it going petals?" the voice interrupted her observing, it got closer to the light showing it's true form; a short skeleton.
Frisk muttered a curse under her breath, as her eyes began to slowly overlook the light a few feet away she could make out that behind the bright light, there were more silhouettes with her in the room, horns, fur, scales, mere outlines of what hid behind that light, they were all monsters and they came to see her, the show of this room, the main attraction to their slaughter.
"what's wrong? cat ate your tongue?" the skeleton chuckled, ironic with the beastly coworkers he had
"I-- I-- Wha--" Frisk muttered, she had so many questions with such little information, why was she here? what did she do? who are they? what do they want? she knew very well if these people wanted to kill her they would have long ago.
Oh god was she about to be trafficked
The skeleton turned off the light flashing her face, turning around to the ones from the room clearly showing how out numbered Frisk was, whichever reason he did so, to intimidate her, it did have an effect on her.
"It's sad you couldn't recognize me doll" the skeleton smirked showing slightly the blue hue on his eye socket, that was enough to jog the memory from last night, "YOU!" Frisk struggled to get him, receiving another slap from Undyne before she could cuss him out properly.
"Don't you dare puny human!" she growled, Frisk didn't dare to look back, the red of her face was more prominent, pins and needles all across the left side of her cheek. The slaps were painful enough to straighten any man or woman to be quiet. And this jackass skeleton seemed amused by Frisk's behavior, almost like somehow he had planned it all along.
"Tell us the reason Sans, why you requested our presence" the biggest monster spoke, by a looks of it the boss of the place, looking pretty scary with those enormous horns and serious look.
"you guys didn't notice?" The skeleton turned, receiving nothing but confused looks. Sans turned the light on once again, but leaving the light shine low at her feet so the rest of the people present could concentrate in Frisk being the center of attention, her eyes adjusted to the dark and the slight lighting, before she could look up at them with her red glowing eyes.
Surrounded by dozen pairs of eyes, she was unsure how to react.
"she has DT everyone, one of the few gifted here" Sans exposed "you guys know what that means"
Frisk looked around the room seeing a lot of figures move and murmur around, the fish lady seem to quiet the room with a shout, she glared at the monsters who kept chatting, quieting them down to the core with those black pupils that became so sharp with contact.
The Human looked at them amused, they all seem to be afraid of the talking piranha looking fish, she laughed a bit inside till again the attention laid on her. Her nerves weren't unnoticed by the fish lady as one of her most silent and deadly threat was pointed directly on her.
"so what? a girl with bloody eyes isn't gonna make any change Sans, we saw that the hard way " Undyne dared to say, everyone seem to agree with her, so what about it? it didn't work the last time why would it now?
"oh please" Sans sockets rolled, he knew Undyne would be against it really, she never was a big fan of humans, but this isn't the time to be sentimental.
"Asgore do you remember the time where the trades were-" he stopped, glancing at Frisk he thought it better, standing a bit more tall he spoke composed "we've had good advances in the past year right?"
Asgore slowly nodded knowing what he meant, Sans continued "Haven't we made several powerful comrades in that year?" Asgore firmly nodded, Sans couldn't hold it no longer how he felt about it so he raised his voice "Humans were warming to us Asgore!" he announced "people wanted to make more contacts, we were making more allies, it was a time where this city could finally breath goddamit!"
No one murmured, despite their looks of concern, doubt and some anger, they all waited for the Boss to answer first.
The skeleton pridefully sat on the table, looking over some files, different shapes and sizes jumbled into a folder, some things Frisk instantly recognized, her birth certificate, her resume, death certificates, diploma, personal items that were in different drawers around her house
"hey thats my-!"
"Orphan at a young age, in the system for some time, working in the diner since you were fifteen ... sheesh" Sans eyed with curiosity
Frisk bit her lip at that, surely he didn't know much more about her, her place didn't have that much memorabilia after all
"seemed pretty eager to have a fresh start, or maybe a much needed vacation" Oh- she forgot about the amount of postcards she'd collect of nice places on her fridge, Hawaii, the port of Macquarie, Disney world, Daytona Beach, California to name a few. Places she yearned to go, she even had a Piggy bank for it under her bed for it. To get a new start, or to get that vacation she very much needed since she was twelve.
And she refused to stay quiet because of that, as a kid people would simply not disclose choices taken in her life, as a teen where parties or birthdays she would be so out of the picture, of course working to kill more of her time everyday, the longer she was away from that god forsaken place the better. Missing her youth that fleeted long ago before she even realized
"stop looking through my shit and tell me what are you going to do to me" Frisk spat, her glare going directly to the one with it all, That motherfucking skeleton
No one answered, all the several eyes on her glared with disgust, how dare a human speak to them that way? How dare they interrupt one of their kind? This human is outnumbered and overpowered, if anything killing her would be a tremendous favor. But the Skeleton just grinned wider, this was much more amusing to him than he thought
"I am sick of being treated like a dumb bitch for your amusment! If you're going to kill me then do it already!" the fish monster stood up and was more than ready to shoot her another much deserved slap, but the skeleton stepped ahead from behind moving everybody away, taking Frisk by the back of the chair, she flinched by this realizing her weight shifting backwards, she tried to move but he began drag her out of the room with everybody shocked behind.
It seemed like it was time for a discussion to be made, and this bonehead didn't like social meetings, they required to much questions, stupid questions that upset him. Supposedly he only speaks to the ones that understand him, or the ones that are close relatives to him, so he just wanted to wait outside till things cool off.
Eventually the rest slowly started to gossip and babble about the situation that just unfolded while Frisk was stuck in the chair with him beside. The hallway at least where he dragged her to looked somewhat fancy.
Frisk froze a bit with her mind in blank, sure her cheek was burning but she couldn't think of another thing, apparently her snap and shouting behind there didn't made much of a difference. It took a lot of her to be able to snap like that yet it was ignored, But boy did it feel good
"What's DT?" she finally asked, of all the ways she could start a conversation she started with the most obvious, the reason of her inside this monster establishment apparently. "it's a trait" he answered leaning on the wall, "it's unique, special and shit" he shrugged.
Frisk expected that by his answer she would feel more reasonable and cooperative towards her captors, but it just confused her more. She's not a monster, she has no money, no important relatives, no skill, no info about any kind, most importantly why would they need to make a human initiate contact with monsters? especially her of all people, being some sort of ambassador, aren't they independent enough? Monsters can be so complicated sometimes
"so your name is Sans huh?" she asked to break the silence, she had no reason to, but she wanted to get information out of him
"yea no shit" he sighed clearly not wanting to talk ... fucking hell, I mean Frisk understands it sure, but he is just being rude.
Now because of the silence a tension slowly fallen down between them, it was awkward, yes but also gave her time to study this monster beside her, he didn't seem much of a talker, and took the murder subject like if it was nothing, not judging or anything but it already sounds like a messed up guy, she bet that he would kill her right in the spot if he was ordered to, without any hesitation too, plus by the way he's doing things it seems pretty straight forward with no sugarcoating at all.
At least they have that in common
She sighed, shifting her legs that wanted to sleep, she just wanted to get this over with.
A short monster walked out of the room they were in, reptile-like, with yellow scales and big glasses, she headed towards them. "S-Sans um, Asgore wants to see you" she spoke looking sideways to frisk, crossing glances with her for a sec to quickly look away, "Sh-she also has to come"
Without a word Sans nodded and dragged Frisk's chair leaving a trail behind, the reptile abruptly stopped it "Sans! she has to be untied!" with a loud groan the skeleton did so.
Taking out a pocket knife, Sans cut the rope, by how tight it was it left red rings on her wrists, she couldn't help but hiss about it. Slowly but surely she got back inside, where all the monsters were reunited ...
