Chapter Text
Yuuri sat there watching the tears flow freely from Victor’s crystalline eyes, down his cheeks, dripping off his jaw to be absorbed by his terrycloth robe.
Yuuri wanted to stop them, to rewind time to before he had witnessed such hurt on Victor’s face, hurt that he had caused.
Where had he gone wrong? They never talked about changing course. Yuuri had accepted that his time with Victor would end, that this daydream was temporary. That Victor Nikiforov would return to the ice, and Yuuri would say goodbye.
“I thought we had a plan,” Yuuri reasoned. “Just until the Grand Prix Final.”
“Do you really want me to leave so badly?” Victor whispered, barely able to suppress his sobs. “That this really was only temporary for you?”
No!
Yuuri’s brain screamed the words.
He didn’t want Victor to leave.
He didn’t want this to be temporary.
He wanted to skate—to be—with Victor forever.
So Yuuri leaned forward, and he pressed his lips to Victor’s eyelids, one after the other.
“Is it greedy to want you forever?” He asked. “Am I allowed to want that?”
Victor tugged Yuuri in to continue the kiss.
“No,” Victor replied. “Because I want forever too.”
