Murphy knew that tangling with Kravos and coming out of the destruction of Bianca's mansion left Harry broken, maybe as much as or worse than her. But she sure as hell doesn't expect the call that comes one rainy night, letting her know as one of Harry's only friends that he's standing on a high roof and looking ready to jump.
She finds him half mad with misery and pain, ravaged by some dark magic she doesn't understand, and even as she leads him back down to the ground, Harry begs her to let him die. Murphy, however, resolves not to let him go. With the help of some of his other friends, she hunts down answers to try and save Harry before the curse laid on him chews his soul away. Murphy might not have any magic of her own, but she doesn't intend to let that stop her.
Written for H/C Bingo, prompt "magical trouble".
A lovely, brief, plotty friendship story that puts Murphy at the center of saving people.
