Summary: Angel explains a few things to Castle.

Richard wasn’t sure how he’d first ended up seeing Faith in the first place, but he did remember reeling when he’d overheard Kate telling their suspect she’d remembered everything. That had hurt and after they’d found the bitch who’d pulled that little stunt- People killed just because she wanted better ratings! Castle raged. Well, he’d had to just get out of there. He and Beckett had been partners of a sort for over three years and she just lied to him like that?
So, in typical Castle fashion, he’s gone out and gotten drunk and handy been paying as good attention to his surroundings as he should. “Oooh, goodie, a late night snack,” someone muttered behind him.
“Nah, I’m not hungry right now,” he mumbled drunkenly right before he was thrown up against the wall in the alley hard enough to see stars.
“Oh no, sweetpea, you’re the snack,” she hissed, all fangs and yellow eyes.
“I don’t think that’s what they meant when they said take a bite outta crime,” another girl quipped from the alleyway entrance.
The vampire whirled around, hissing “Slayer” at the new arrival.
“Got it in one,” the brunette said with a grin as she backhanded the other girl away from Castle and into the wall and staking her. Castle just leaned back against the wall, wondering when the little birdies would stop chirping.
The woman, who had introduced herself as Faith, took him to a nearby coffee shop to sober up and recover a bit. Sitting across from him in the booth, she stared at him in silence for a moment. “So, do you want the nice version of what just happened or the truth? Cuz something tells me you know something about what’s goin’ on around these parts.”
Castle had opted for the truth and now they were headed to visit a friend of hers after having made a quick pitstop at a drug store for aspirin for his nagging headache.
“So who’s this Angel chick?” he asked as Faith chuckled and kissed him on the cheek after knocking on the apartment door.
“Angel’s one of my oldest friends, but HIS original name was Liam,” Faith explained as the door opened, Angel grinning as he invited them in.
Rick turned confused eyes towards Faith. “ I thought you said inviting people in was a bad thing.”
“Yes, but when your house is owned by a vampire, we can generally handle things ourselves,” Angel said softly from right behind him, causing Rick to let out a yelp and whirl around to face the older man.
“Dude! Get a bell or something for shit like that,” he muttered as the two friends chuckled on the way into the living room.
“So, Faith said that you’ve been trying to help out where you can in the supernatural community. And yes, Mr Castle, I know who you are and who you work with- we read the papers.”
Castle’s eyes darkened. “Haven’t actually felt like that much as of late, so, um, running into Faith was a bit of perfect timing. That being said, I already told Faith when I first started trying to help that none of what I do to help you guys out would be used in a book,” he assured him.
Angel took a minute to inhale before asking “Was that before or after you started sleeping with Faith?”
Faith turned pink and smacked him on the arm- hard. “Damn vampire sense of smell,” she muttered while Castle squirmed a little bit. “No, Mr-Overbearing-Vampire, he told me that from the get go. We mainly came by so that I could introduce you, since you’re usually on the other coast, and see if there’s anything you need for the Batcave. That, and, well, hell, I’ve been looking for a little fight action, since Author Boy here’s human and I gotta go a lil easy on ‘im.”
Angel chuckled and shook his head. “So, we spar while I let Richard bone up on demonic theory?”
“Yeah, somethin’ like that,” Faith agreed with a grin.
