Cat/Reader | Elias
The freshly frozen water flakes drifted from the milky white clouds above. They landed delicately on the ground, creating mounds of winter delights.
Neighboring children collected together; each child wearing warm, protective jackets and scarves, and mittens.
Some danced across the ice while others formed forts of snow to conquer the other’s kingdom.
Battles of joy and fearless child bravery developed as a result of such favored competition.
Glowing lamps lit up the street with cheery holiday music. The business district of town was bustling with families coming and going from store to store, looking for the perfect supper roast.
Sweet couples loitered by the parks, raising their mistletoes for the romantic occasion.
A soft thump of snow softly crunched under your paws. You shook your head rapidly, dusting off the falling snowflakes from your fur coat.
As the town was focused on its merry tradition, you figured your time best be spent picking up the free food and treats of passersby.
Some people stopped to coo at your adorable features. Brushing their ungloved, warm, rosy red fingers on your face, humans pet your chin and pleasantly enjoyed the soft purrs you emitted.
A man, likely in his early twenties, angled his eyes to the ground where you sat. His knees bent and touched the snow-covered ground, dampening the finely crafted white pants he wore.
No matter the inconvenience, the man lowered his hand to present a handful of cat treats.
A gentle murmur of ‘you can have them’, was picked up by your fuzzy ears. Accepting, you picked up your paws and stepped closer to the open treats.
You comfortably sat down in front of the man, curling your tongue to the treats to catch each bite. You ate all of the available treats, licking the man’s open palm for more.
‘They’re tasty’ You observed. Before departing, you gave the kind man a polite meow before trotting away.
Your tail flicked from left to right, catching the attention of other people. They tilted their head in curiosity before warming up and complimenting you.
With a full belly and fulfilled day, you came back to the park where the lovey-dovey couples had just left to sleep on one of the nearby park benches.
You leaped up to the wooden bench, pressing down on the snow to flatten the bed of snow before curling up to sleep.
Your tail twisted around your body, comfortably circling around you in the best sleeping spot.
The moon rose to its peak, settling the merry town in a delicate mist of dreams.
The starry night sky replaced the angelic snowflakes, filling the air with a peaceful light.
The street lamps flickered with an eerie, phantom-like tension.
A lonesome snow fort rested on a battlefield of destroyed kingdoms.
A puff of cold air escaped through the lips of a strange man.
He stood above your resting form, levitating his hand just above your collar. The dampened knees of his pants had dried by now. The only noticeable difference between now and then was that this man’s eyes were now sharp and intense, focused on a single goal.
In his other hand held a pet cage.
