[podfic] Not All Those Who Wander
Podfic of Not All Those Who Wander by Xparrot.
The god Kunlun is as old as the mountain range that bears his name, if not older. Or so the villagers say. He was here before any people were, as eternal as the mountains — moreso, in truth. The mountains might change, but Kunlun remains Kunlun.
This is genuinely one of my favorite-ever Guardian stories. I remembered it being longer than it is, too—not that my voice isn't grateful this was just three hours, but it is so epic. The lyrical prose was an absolute pleasure to read, so much so that I recorded the whole story in just three days. (It also made me so full of feels I think you can hear which parts almost—or more than almost—made me cry.)
After going so long without recording any Guardian stuff, I had I had a lot of help from qikiqtarjuaq's Guardian 镇魂: Name Pronunciations, but I'm afraid my ear can't quite distinguish tones well enough to render them in context, and my tongue still stumbles over some of the syllables.
The fic file also includes a little author's note bonus, which I very much read as myself rather than try to impersonate Xparrot. (We sound very different, though we share a habit of talking very fast, which I think might have made it into that part.)
(See the end of the work for more notes.)
Xparrot's author's notes, etc. These are included in the podfic, but there are several links in the text that might be fun to have at hand!
