Chapter Text
“I don’t get what’s so hard, it’s simple.”
“Well, I am glad you believe so dear.”
“Come on Alastor, even Angel understands how to use it.”
“That’s right! … HEY THE FUCK DID YA JUST SAY BITCH?”
“I think what Vaggie and Angel are trying to say… You might just be overthinking it?”
Angel was sitting on a student’s desk, as much as Alastor hated it.
Vaggie was behind Alastor with her arms crossed, trying to teach him the new grading software.
Charlie was next to Alastor, helping by pointing things out to help him.
“Dude, just take a swing, it’ll make it easier.”
Husk was leaning against the wall behind Charlie, his ‘coffee’ in hnd.
“Husk! You’re supposed to be sober!”
“HA good luck toots.”
Angel was grinning, his eyes moving from Charlie to Husk who rose an eyebrow and squinted his eyes a bit.
“Says the one who did a line out of Valentino’s hand.”
“ANGEL”
Both Charlie and Vaggie yelled, their attention instantly shot to him, who was glaring at Husk who had a smug grin on his face.
“Fucking rat! See if I hide your shit in my room again.”
All this banter in his room was not helping in the slightest, though the argument was actually somewhat amusing. Did the girls really not know this was going on? They were dumber than they looked.
“While I appreciate the help, I have to ask you all to leave.”
“What? But Al we–”
“Yeah Smiles what’s the deal?”
“Would you please just leave, as much as I am enjoying the show, it is far frim helping.”
Charlie frowned.
Husk shrugged.
Vaggie rolled her eyes.
Angel sulked.
“Okay fine… Come on guys, we should head to the teacher’s lounge anyways.”
Charlie’s mood seemed to pick up immediately as she bounced towards the door. Angel and Husk each took one step before Vaggie was behind both of them, hitting them in the back of the head.
“WHAT THE FUCK”
Both yelled which caused Alastor to sigh.
“Don’t think you two are getting off that easy.”
“Ugh, can we spare tha lecture?”
“No, now go.”
Husk and Angel were clearly not excited as they left the room, Vaggie was beyond pissed as she walked behind them.
“Don’t be scared to call us, okay Al?”
Charlie smiled, which was returned.
“Of course darling, now run along.”
She nodded and walked out of the room, following the three arguing teachers. They could be heard from what seemed like forever as they walked down the hall.
Finally it was quiet.
Now the room was filled with aggressive key typing. Every button did the exact opposite of what he wanted, it wasn’t as easy as putting in a grade and saving it anymore. Why did they have to make teaching so complicated with all this new technology? The only addition he actually enjoyed was the microphone specially designed for students with hearing aids.
“Come on ALastor, you cannot be defeated by such a simple task.”
The more typing was done, the more aggressive it became.
A loud warning popped up with an error sign.
Man, did he wish to throw the monitor.
His ‘help’ didn’t help in the least, there would be no way Lucifer would help him, Nifty didn’t deal with the technology aspect of the school…
That left three people.
He was too proud to ask them for help, but at this rate he would never figure it out and he would be here all night.
Alastor placed an elbow on the desk, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration.
Blast it all.
He reached out and grabbed the phone off the dock. Most teachers kept theirs on the walls by the door, not Alastor, though it was much easier to access than on the wall.
He paused, was he really about to do this?
After a few minutes of deliberating, he pressed a button followed by a three digit number. Each code corresponded with the numbers on their doors.
It started to ring.
A call came through to the media department.
“Vox’s room, how can I help you~”
Of course, Valentino answered the phone, just what he needed.
“Valentino, please put Vox on the telephone?”
“Strawberry pie!”
Vox froze before his head turned from his and Velvet’s phones. She was scrolling social media, he was scrolling a media platform with videos as posts.
“Valentino, please, I hate to admit but I need his help.”
Valentino grinned as he turned around and leaned against the wall, finger twirling in the course. His eyes settled on Vox, giving him a small nod.
“Give me the pho–” As he went to get up, his chair tipped over due to how fast he was.
A thud could be heard over the phone and laughter.
“He fell again, didn’t he?”
“You know it sugar.”
“Is he at least awake?”
Vox shook his head to get out of his dazed state and got to his feet, dashing for the phone.
“Mhmm, we’ll be there in a minute babe~”
“Please stop with the nicknames…”
The phone was already hung up which made him sigh. This was the last thing he needed, all three of them coming.
Within a few minutes, there were voices in the hallway with the sound of heels.
“We’re here~!”
Valentino’s tall frame was the first one to come in, then Vox who shoved him out of the way, then finally Velvet who was glued to her phone.
“Hi Ally!”
“Hello, Valentino… Velvet…”
“You totally can’t figure out the new software, can you?”
Silence.
“Yes…”
Vox laughed a bit.
Valentino went to go sit on a desk, where Velvet had sat down in the chair. They shared a look as Vox made his way across the room to Alastor’s desk.
“Why must we update the systems so often?”
“Dude, we do it once a month.”
“Far too often if you ask me.”
Vox rolled his eyes before moving behind Alastor just to see where he was and ended up bursting out with laughter.
“What the fuck did you do?”
“First, no swearing in my room. Second, I really do not know…”
“Okay, fine… Anyways, lets restart it all..”
“The whole computer?”
“Lets just close the software.”
That much Alastor could do, he hit the X in the corner and pressed the confirmation to close it.
“It’s slow as fuck, turn it off and on.”
Alastor sighed and hit the power button on the computer itself and waited for it to turn off.
A minute passed and he pressed the button again.
While they waited for it to reboot, Vox looked over at his friends, who looked like they were gossiping, occasionally looking at them, and occasionally laughing. What the fuck were they talking about…
Keyboard sounds started as he typed in his password and everything popped up as if nothing happened.
“Okay so, press the software.”
Alastor did as he was instructed.
“Press the file button and then pull up your latest grades.”
When those were pressed, it automatically transferred into the new format which amazed him. Technology had a mind of its own.
The cursor hovered over random buttons, trying to figure out what they did while Vox glanced up for a second.
“Will you two stop laughing already!”
“But Voxxy~”
“I won’t drive either of you home.”
“Wow rude.”
When he looked down, there were a few different things going on.
“Al quit pressing things!”
“I didn’t do anything!”
“Obviously you did!”
Alastor huffed and before he could do anything about it, Vox’s hand was over his on the mouse.
Alastor had a bit of a blush on his face but of course he hid it.
“So you press this” He pressed down Alastor’s finger. “Then this.” He drifted the mouse and pressed again. “Then you type in the number.” The other arm came around and glanced down at the paper he was trying to mark. He typed in the numbered, his chest against the back of Alastor’s shoulders. “Now you press this.” Another movement and a click. “And then you do that again.”
Alastor watched the screen the whole time.
“Now you try it.”
He did exactly what was done previously and grinned widely as he actually accomplished it.
“There ya go.” He finally noticed what he was doing and quickly stood up, rubbing the back of his neck as his eye went to the wall.
“As much as I hate to say it, thank you, Vox.”
“Don’t mention it…”
“It’s been a ‘pleasure’ gentlemen, lady.”
“Wait Strawberry!”
Valentino stood up with a grin as Vox started to walk towards him.
“Hmm?”
“Why don’t you join us, we’re going to the mall!”
“Val, he probably has plans.”
Alastor paused, to everyone’s surprise.
“The last time I went with the three of you, I ended up not knowing where I was for the whole night.”
“Don’t worry, no one’s gonna give you drugs babe, there’s just some stores we need to go to~”
“Ooooh! Ally there’s that store with the records that just opened!”
Velvet clearly knew how to catch his attention.
“Very well, just let me finish this.”
“Wait really?”
Vox looked down as Alastor got to work, entering the grades one by one.
“I have yet to see this store and if I wish to leave it’s much easier.”
“Awww that’s no fun babe! I’ll buy ya something to make up for the drugs~”
“... I may have to take you up on that offer.”
“Perfect!”
Before they knew it, Alastor was powering down the computer and getting to his feet, adjusting his shirt.
“Lets not make this a regular thing, please? I do enjoy my personal time.”
“We’ll see, come on babydoll, Voxxy~”
Alastor sighed.
This was not going to end well for him and he knew it as he was escorted out of his own room and down to the car after locking the door.
He just wanted help with the software.
