A laugh emitted from Joel's mouth and I smiled when his brown eyes lit up. They were so beautiful - dark like chocolate swirls in a cup of hot cocoa, a dark contrast to my own aqua blue eyes. Joel always told me he loved my eyes though - that they looked just like the ocean to him. It always made me blush crimson when he said that. We'd been friends for as long as I could remember - going over to each other's houses, hanging out, laughing, joking, talking about our hopes and dreams for the future. We'd done it all together.

So I guess it wasn't a huge surprise when I formed a crush on him. No, in fact, that was normal, right? I sighed, these thoughts swirling in my head. Maybe it wasn't normal. Either way though, Joel was my everything. And I didn't want to risk ruining such a great friendship over a crush that would most likely fade away on its own...or at least that's what I'd told myself these past three years.

Because it hadn't faded yet.

"Helly? Earth to Helly?" Joel asked suddenly, snapping me from my reverie as he waved a hand in front of my face teasingly.

"Hm? What? What'd I miss?" I asked and he laughed, a melodic sound that filled my ears.

"I was asking you what song you wanted me to play next?" he smiled over at me as he strummed his guitar, making my heart melt at his cuteness.

I crossed my legs on the bed as he leaned up against his headboard. His long legs were stretched out, the toes of his socks just barely touching my own feet. I watched as his long fingers ran over the strings with such precision. I'd always loved it when he'd play for me.

" about something by Maluma?" I suggested and Joel made a sour face, making me burst into giggles.

"Okay, okay, no Maluma..." I rolled my eyes playfully, strands of golden blonde hair falling over my shoulder.

Joel bit his lip in thought, ebony curls splayed on his forehead. Butterflies swarmed in my belly at the sight and he caught me staring. A smirk graced his face, making me blush scarlet as I looked away. Pulling at the hem of my t-shirt absentmindedly, my blush faded. I felt his dark brown eyes boring into me then and finally, I glanced back up at him.

"What?" I arched an eyebrow and this time, he blushed.

He shook his head, "Nothing. I just...I think I found the perfect song..."

I smiled, tilting my head to the side.

"And what would that be?" I asked.

He responded with just a smile, shaking his head as if to say I had to wait. Slowly, he began to strum the beginning of the song. A laugh emitted from my lips and I clapped as he gestured to me with his one hand.

"You sing the English parts, Helly." he directed and I nodded in response, starting to sing.

"Come on over in my direction, so thankful for that, it's such a blessin', yeah, turn every situation into Heaven, yeah," I sang out, smiling all the while, "Oh, you sunrise on the darkest day, got me feelin' some kind of way, make me wanna savor every moment slowly, slowly,"

Joel grinned over at me, urging me to go on as he strummed.

"You fit me, tailor-made love, how you put it on, got the only key, know how to turn it on," I continued, edging closer to him on the bed slightly, "The way you nibble on my ear, the only words I wanna hear, baby take it slow so we can last long,"

Suddenly, Joel began to strum faster as the song picked up.

"Oh, tú, tú eres el imán y yo soy el metal, me voy acercando y voy armando el plan, sólo con pensarlo se acelera el pulso," he sang out loudly, his voice making the voice that much more beautiful.

"Oh, yeah!" I chipped in, laughing.

"Ya, ya me está gustando más de lo normal, todos mis sentidos van pidiendo más, esto hay que tomarlo sin ningún apuro!" he smiled, stopping only briefly before picking up the chorus.

"Despacito! Quiero respirar tu cuello despacito, deja que te diga cosas al oído," he went on.

"Para que te acuerdes si no estás conmigo!" I sang out, putting my hands up over my head as I danced on the bed.

Joel giggled, continuing, "Despacito, quiero desnudarte a besos despacito, firmo en las paredes de tu laberinto, y hacer de tu cuerpo todo un manuscrito!"

I sang out the 'oh' loudly then and he laughed again. He edged closer to me on the bed til we were face-to-face and he smiled at me before continuing.

"Quiero ver bailar tu pelo, quiero ser tu ritmo, que le enseñes a mi boca, tus lugares favoritos,"

"Favorito, favorito, baby!" I chorused, grinning.

"Déjame sobrepasar tus zonas de peligro, hasta provocar tus gritos, y que olvides tu apellido..." he finished out, winking at me to which I just laughed.

When my giggle finally subsided, I realized how close we were. Our faces were mere inches apart and I could feel his warm breath fanning my face. It made me suck in a breath, feeling nervous and excited all at the same time. With slow movements, he connected his lips to mine and my blue eyes fluttered closed. His lips were plump and soft, gliding across mine so smoothly. His hands found my hips, pulling me closer on the bed as I melted into the unexpected kiss.

A few seconds later, I broke away from him, grinning.

"Wow..." he breathed out slowly, making me blush crimson, "I should have sang Despacito to you months ago."

I snickered, shaking my head at his immaturity before smacking him on the shoulder playfully, "Oh, Joel."
