"Good morning, Yachiyo."

"Nn... too bright..."

"Well, if you don't let go of me, I can't really help you there. I'll close the blinds if you'll let me."

Yachiyo let out a small whine of complaint at being asked to let go of her. They didn't want to give up cuddle time yet. Even if the light was blinding them completely. Yachiyo solved it by simply burying their head into Akira's shirt.

Akira sighed, "We have to get up soon, Yachiyo."

"I don't wanna!"

"Yachiyo, we are not doing this again." Akira said in a warning tone.

"But, Akira! It's my birthday!" Yachiyo complained more.

"That does not give you the excuse to skip school." Akira stated, "Now get up."

"No!!!" Yachiyo refused and clung onto Akira with as much strength as they could.

Akira sighed as she unsuccessfully attempted to pry Yachiyo off of her. This wasn't going well. Yachiyo was being very stubborn today. It was unusual for them to want to skip school. Should she be worried?

Thinking about it, Akira determined it wasn't something to worry about. They had been very busy as of recent and not had much time to hang out. Yachiyo probably just wanted to get some alone time with her for once. But, they couldn't skip class for it. That wasn't a good thing for an edel to do.

"Since it's your birthday, we can spend the entire afternoon together. But, we have classes to attend." Akira stated.

"No! I wanna stay here with you!" Yachiyo continued to throw a tantrum over not getting their way. They knew it would get Akira to cave in. They knew exactly what they were doing.

"Yachiyo, please-"

"You're acting like a spoiled kid. Behave."

"No! I won't until you agree!" Yachiyo was not giving in. They knew it would only be a matter of time before Akira gave up.

They knew they were asking a lot of her. Skipping class wasn't a good look on them. But, Yachiyo knew there was nothing important going on for either of them. That was why they were willing to put up a fight.

"Yachiyo..." Akira sighed and kissed them on the head, "You're always so troublesome."

"I know." Yachiyo hummed.

"Look at me." Akira said.

Yachiyo didn't know if it was a trap. They were cautious about how they moved to look at her. The last thing they needed was her tricking them into letting her go. They didn't want that.

"Yes?" Yachiyo asked.

Akira grabbed them by the chin, "Stop."

Yachiyo pouted at her, "Come on, Akira! It's one day."

"Please? Won't you do it for me?" Yachiyo put on the saddest act they could.

"I'm not ditching school with you. Now let go of me."

"Hmm... no."

"Uh uh. I'm not letting go. You're gonna stay right here in bed and there's nothing you can do about it." Yachiyo smirked slyly.

Akira looked lost. She had no way out of this. Yachiyo wouldn't give in no matter what she tried. They really were set on skipping class with her.

"Good luck. Michiru will come looking if we don't show up." Akira tried one last thing.

"I already planned for that. She won't bother us." Yachiyo's smirk grew.

Akira sighed. They had put a lot of effort into pulling this off. Looks like she was stuck. She guessed one day couldn't be too bad. But she would give Yachiyo a harsh punishment tomorrow. This behavior shouldn't be rewarded.

"Fine. You win." Akira sighed again.

"Yay!" Yachiyo smiled and buried themselves up against Akira, "I love you."

Akira cracked a smile and hugged them back, "I love you too."

"Aren't you forgetting something?" Yachiyo prompted.

"What?" Akira was confused for a second, "Oh. Happy birthday, Yachiyo."

"Thank you~ Now give me a kiss, please?" Yachiyo requested.

Akira kissed them on the head, and then on the cheek, before finally moving on to their lips. Yachiyo smiled against her lips as they kissed. They liked this outcome. They were glad they got Akira to agree to this.

Yachiyo went back to snuggling up against her after the kiss. Akira ran a hand over their back absentmindedly. She still wasn't too thrilled by this situation at hand.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Are you mad?"

Akira sighed, "Yes. I am mad. But, the scolding can wait until tomorrow. I don't want to ruin your birthday."

"Is there any way I can get out of it?" Yachiyo asked.

"Bet. I'll get out of it."

"Then why'd you ask?" Akira questioned.

"To see if I could get any ideas." Yachiyo smiled innocently at her.

Akira rolled her eyes, "As if I'd tell you."

"Hmm? I bet I could make you." Yachiyo teased.

"No. You can't. I don't know what you can do to try to aid yourself."

Yachiyo pouted, "Aw..."

"Though... maybe I can make a deal with you..."

"What is it?"

"I'm not telling you yet."

"Akira!" Yachiyo whined.

Akira kissed them on the cheek, "You're always so impatient."

"It's my birthday! Spoil me already! Stop teasing me!" Yachiyo huffed.

Akira chuckled, "But you haven't told me how you want me to spoil you."

Yachiyo stared at her for a while. They hadn't expected that. Akira was asking them to choose what she did. They had thought she'd just do whatever she felt was good for today. They weren't prepared to say much about what they wanted.

"Just spoil me! I don't care how!" Yachiyo was too impatient to wait any longer for affection.

Akira rolled her eyes, "Very well."

She held them by their chin and pulled them into a deep kiss. Yachiyo smiled and wrapped their arms tighter around her. The next thing they knew, though, was that they were now pinned down to the bed. Yachiyo nervously looked up at Akira. What was she planning now?

"Despite how demanding you are for my attention, you're so shy still when I give it to you." Akira teased as she brushed some hair out of Yachiyo's face.

Yachiyo didn't have a rebuttal. They remained silent as they turned red. Out of all the days Akira could tease them, why today?

"You're cute when you're embarrassed." Akira said before she kissed them on the head again.

"Akira..." Yachiyo whined, "You're so mean..."

"I am?" Akira acted along, "I'm not being mean to you. I'm simply stating the facts."

"Who taught you to be bold like that?" Yachiyo huffed.

"Akira!" Yachiyo complained.

"You're full of complaints today, aren't you?"

"Because you won't shut up and pamper me." Yachiyo huffed.

Akira chuckled, "Fine. I'll do that then."

Yachiyo was about to reply, but Akira was already on them and kissing them again. The statement died in their throat and they just went along with it. This was what they wanted to happen anyway. They shouldn't object any more.

"So, Yachiyo lied to me, didn't they?"

"I haven't seen either them or Akira today. Something tells me they weren't truthful to me about what they had to do."

"You think so?"

"Mei Fan? You're being awfully quiet."

"Yachiyo told you the truth, didn't they? What are they up to?"

Michiru knew she had been duped by Yachiyo quite fast. She met up with Mei Fan and Shiori at lunch to talk about it. It seems as though Mei Fan knew something the two of them didn't.

Mei Fan sighed, "Fine... they wanted to skip class and spend the entire day with Akira."

Michiru growled, "I swear that kid..."

"Let it go, Michiru. It's one day." Mei Fan defended, "We've all been so swamped with work none of us have had free time."

"Skipping school isn't good!"

"Come on, Michiru." Shiori joined in, "It's too late to do anything about it anyway."

"Were you in on it too?" Michiru frowned at Shiori.

"I'm gonna lose this battle if I fight it, aren't I? You guys are siding with them..." Michiru sighed.

"I'm gonna let Yachiyo have it tomorrow."

"Nope." Mei Fan pulled Michiru into her lap, "We aren't going to let you."

"What? Mei Fan! Let go of me!" Michiru yelled.

"Let it go, Michiru. Let Yachiyo-senpai enjoy their birthday." Shiori added.

"You two..."

Yachiyo enjoyed getting to spend all day with Akira. It had taken a lot to get to this point, but they were glad it had happened. This was an awesome birthday. They wouldn't want it any other way.

"Can I ask for one thing?"

"Can I lay on you?"

"I guess."

Yachiyo smiled and shifted on top of Akira. Akira rubbed their back. Yachiyo hummed in content. They wanted to enjoy the last of their alone time before the other three got back.

"I love you, Akira..." Yachiyo whispered.

"And I love you, Yachi."

"Did you get me a present?"

"Yes. That's for over dinner."

"Okay~ I'm excited."

"I'm sure you'll love it."

Yachiyo giggled, "You're very confident in that. I'm expecting something very good then."

"Only the best for you, Yachiyo."

Yachiyo blushed and hid their face from sight, "Akira~ You're embarrassing me again~"

"I like seeing you blush."

"Hey! Meanie!"

Akira chuckled, "I know you love it."

Yachiyo huffed at having been caught. They did like when Akira played this way. Looks like she had figured that out at some point.

"How about you sing your partner a song for their birthday?" Yachiyo stated.

"A song? What song?"

"Whatever song you think I'd enjoy."

"Alright. Let me think for a minute then."

"Thank you~"

"It's only fair I spoil the birthday... uh... person?"

Yachiyo chuckled, "I had the same problem. I didn't know how to refer to myself either."

"Good to know I wasn't the only one. Deciding on your party was complicated due to that. We ended up having a long discussion on it."

"I'm happy to know you all care so much about trying to use neutral words for me." Yachiyo smiled.

"Of course. We don't want to accidentally upset you."

"You're the best, Akira..."

"You want the song now?"

"Then I'll begin."
